The season of Spring is upon us! Well, most of us. For some places it might still be cold but for others, the environment is warming up. My challenge to you is to write a poem about Spring. Seasons are super duper easy to write about, because there are so many elements to choose from. I'm even going to provide a list of ideas for those of you who could use it:

  • Trees
  • Flowers
  • Singing birds
  • Sports
  • Grass
  • Gardening
  • Temperature
  • Food
  • Bugs
  • Baby animals
  • April showers

I hope I was able to inspire you with my lovely list. XD I'll post up a poem of my own if I can get a member or two to join in. I encourage you to make the poem(s) look pretty with bbcodes. If you need some guidance as to what style your poem should be, take a look at Shadow Poetry.

I'mma post this before I go to school! Hope its OK. >.>;;

Singing along,
As we walk on for hours,
We only stop to admire the flowers.

My hand in yours as you guide me along,
Basking in the sunshine,
And Nature’s song.

Your lips against mine sets my soul alight,
Gives me wings,
Of unstoppable flight.

What may be joys of Spring?
Well I will tell you
It’s when you hear the birds come out to sing
The followers bloom with brilliance
The trees begin to turn dense dark green

It’s when the animals come out and play
Able to walk out side without being unbelievably hot or cold
On rainy days you can see the grass change
The sound of lawn mowers out on a warm sunny day

Though Spring isn’t always time to rejoice
The children run out and scream
It’s a time when allergies kick in really bad
The boys at school with gym shorts on
The girls look like sluts

The sun sets later
It becomes warmer with every passing day
The pungent smell of dogs pee
And most of all the sound of a yapping mutt at night

The northwest is gray
Clouds, shadows and cold
It's been raining all day
These animals are bold

Spring's always late
Just knockin' at the door
Spring will have to wait
Another month or more

I chose to write not about spring itself, but about the transition from winter to spring.
The light of day
Breaks forth suddenly
Melting out all the white
Replacing with green

Like a polar shift
Cold to warm
From desolation,
there is hope in our eyes

Free from the chill
the new era
like light to flies
Earth's cycle of revolution

Spring

Spring,
season
of new life,
flowers in bloom,
baby animals
exploring their new world,
birds trilling their spring time songs
telling the world: Time to wake up!
There is no sight so lovely to see
as the cycle of life beginning anew.

The snow disappears into the ground,
Ice melts into streams under my feet.
The rivers rage once more,
And the cold has mellowed for now.

Snow leaves.
The clouds come,
Rain falls,
And I can breathe again.

The barren branches burst
Resting leaves now recover
Every bud will now explode
Entering now to glorious life
Springing out the change of seasons

Spring
has sprung
and the blooming
has begun out there
under the sun as rain falls
across the forests and plains
while birds herald its beginning
with sweet and glorious singing.
A new start has arisen today!
