Fantasy is my #1; I will give almost anything a chance if it has strong fantasy elements. Post apocalyptic, superhero, alternate history, science fantasy, some supernatural, romance, and a few fandoms (especially Game of Thrones) are also likely to catch my eye.
I've just started getting into listening to podcasts while playing games without sound on. The only one I've found so far that I enjoy is 99% Invisible, a podcast that consists of stories and interviews about various design, architecture, and history things. It has everything from the story of how barcodes came to be as they are today to the tale of the Chrysler building becoming the tallest building in the world in its day due in large part to a rivalry between two architects. It's really great if you like nerdy shit like that. :P
I forgot to mention the Just Japan Podcast. The host lives in Japan and interviews people living in japan from all kinds of walks of life.
Highly recommended for people that are looking into living and working in Japan.
