A PLOT CHALLENGE is where you are given a word, a phrase, a sentence, or a setting and you have to come up with a plot idea that is inspired by those words!

The object is to THINK FAST and share the first ideas that come to mind. It's an exercise in quick creative thinking. You can do this challenge any time. Or multiple times!

Challenge Phrase: Dinosaur Vengeance

So, you know how fossil fuel is essentially the decomposed remains of dead organisms, right? What if, by burning up fossil fuel, the ancient spirits consider humans to be desecrating graves? In an attempt to stop us, they summon dinosaur-like creatures to attack fossil power plants. Humanity, of course, doesn't like this and decides to fight back.

Modern times. All is well. When all of a sudden hundreds and hundreds of dinosaurs and teleporting all over to world! Respective military forces are dispatched but the creatures seem to be even more resilient than their ancestors. Soon, a huge portion of humanity is wiped out and the survivors must hide and count their prayers while barely mounting a counterattack.

The future. All that mumbo-jumbo about the idea of integrating animal DNA with human DNA to advance our species? It's a reality! Sure, gymnasts may use the DNA of monkeys, or sprinters - the DNA of cheetahs. But what would be the best DNA combination for our military forces? Why not dinosaurs... What a combination of speed, protection and lethal aggression. But what happens when the government goes too far and the ratio between human DNA and Dinosaur DNA becomes inverted? What happens when the beast takes over and crosses the line to a new (or ancient) species? This is the age we live in now. We no longer fight against our own, but the monsters we have created. Will the Dinosaurs have the last say and finally have their vengeance through the extinction of man?

Ha, ha, ha. This was a fabulous challenge. It totally made me giggle, smile and laugh until my sides hurt :) Thank you!

Simon Banks was an old man. He wasn't fit to run the company, or at least the board didn't think he was. He was too old, senile, belonged in an archaeologist's dig site. So when they voted him out, replaced him with a egocentric twerp who was half his age and had no clue how to care about the people they employed or the world they operated in, Simon Banks declared he had enough. It didn't matter that they had sliced his pension. It didn't matter that they wanted to remake the face of the company or completely redo the product. What mattered was the fact that Simon had learned they were about to lay off half the staff in the next six months. It had to be stopped.

The law was not on Simon's side in the matter. There was nothing he could really do about it, but he found a way. Simon went out and hired a team of elite thieves and cons. These people were the only ones who could help him restore and save his people's jobs. And when they asked him if he really wanted to go through with it Simon had an answer ready.

"It's time to enact this "old Dinosaur's" vengeance," he grinned.
