Phantasmagoria — Ewigkeit in Wiedergeburt

Seia, despite making the first motion to leave, was ironically the last person in the squad left out of the room at that point. Aurora had ejected herself out - seemingly unable to handle the strufe, and with her came Rune, Melora, and eventually Erlys as well. She felt each one of them brush past her in an almost too intentional sort of manner. No doubt due to her inflammatory statements earlier.

But at the very least she was finally truly alone. She could now allow herself to breathe out calmly. She breathed out shakily. Like bottled emotions were finally allowed to pass. She wasn't entirely sure still, what she was trying to accomplish in being this way.

Though, one thing felt certain in her mind:
She didn't like forcing herself to play the bad guy.
And of course, her own pride wouldn't allow her to ever apologize.

@_Nobody Seia still needs to debreif and get a sword.

"Memoria's Memento Cafe... Memoria's Memor... entocafe... I know I've heard that name somewhere before..." Aurora hummed quietly as she passed the sign. "Well okay, sure. It's kinda weird I've never been here before, but I think it's new, or if it isn't, maybe I just don't remember..."

Aurora allowed herself to be pulled along into the building by Melora's powerful enthusiasm. "I'd better make sure I use my own flow crystal... hahaha..." it was a bit of a forced laugh, but genuine nonetheless.

Memoria's Memento Cafe

Despite being somewhat famous(?) for their cake, it was no easy task to find Memoria's Memento Cafe, hidden past alleyways and cranky air-travel paths, it became clear enough that the place was indeed, just opened recently. The 'premium spots' reserved for long standing stores. The hand-writing on the shield that hung above the small, decorated, cloud-blue wooden frame door was beautiful. Reading more like a poem in by itself rather than the cafe's name that truly set it apart from the 'dirty' neighborhood the cafe was in.

The moment the two set foot inside, it was easy to completely forget just where exactly the cafe was placed. The decoration of the cafe itself nearly identical with most other coffees, going for a warm color scheme to feel like comfy at home, was nothing out of the ordinary. The scent, however, was captivating. There were hints of cinnamon and chocolate in the air, a gentle note of caramel. Vanilla, hazelnut, mocha, and many more. Even without ordering anything, the dance of various aromas made it already worth it.

The place wasn't too full. Most people were in groups of two or more, enjoying their drink and food. Upon closer inspection, however, one could notice that most had their eyes closed, nearly looking like having the most peaceful dream ever. The waitresses that Aurora could spot, which seemed to be more than usual for such a cafe, didn't include anyone she knew. At all.

Melora laughed at Aurora's joke. "I know, right? I have to set some Flow aside for Rent, but that's a separate crystal so I have to keep it in a drawer by itself so that I don't accidentally buy something silly with rent money."

Like art supplies or cards. She had learned very quickly that she was only allowed to buy cards on the day after the rent was due, or she was going to go far too wild with the money. Which would be a pretty big problem if her landlady found out about that. Thankfully, she'd already set aside enough for rent from her last mission and shop wages, so Melora could gorge oon this 'adventure' cake all she wanted.

"Wow, I woulda thought that we'd need more of a reservation," Melora said, scanning the crowd. The place was nice, and looked fairly nice for a run down neighborhood, so they must be doing all right.

"All right, let's get us some cake!" Melora said, putting on her best impression of Aurora. "... Oh yeah does Rune want any? I'm not sure if she eats."

@Luma @Skyswimsky

"Huh...?" Aurora peeled her gaze off the stranger in the seats to glance at Melora, noticing the change in tone, but evidently not what Melora was going for. "Sure! Right, cake! Why all the waitresses though I wonder...? Most cafes I know usually just have you order something over a countertop..."

Giving the joint another quick look-around, Aurora spotted what looked like a counter showing off the various delicacies,, answering on her way there, "Oh, no, Rune only eats mobius fuel though a compartment hidden in h-- oof!"

Aurora suddenly stumbled forward as Rune swiftly gave a leg a small kick, returning instantly to a neutral position by the time Aurora turned around. Her glare was enough to make it clear she knew what happened, but a moment later, she was off toward the cake again with a shrug.

"I hope they have something reeeeally chocolatey. I think I smell chocolate. That's a good sign!"

The sweet fragrance of strawberrycake and milk tea was what ultimately pulled Celestia back into the land of the living. Not sure how much time had passed, she certainly felt more rested. In fact, apart from maybe some sort of headache, she felt actually quite comfortable. She was, after all, sitting in some comfortable armchair. No restraints or anything, as one would have maybe thought.

"You're finally awake." She could hear a voice. A person. On the other side of a desk that was in front of her, scribbling in some old dusty book half her size without looking up.

"Leaving the pointless and obvious statement aside, I am Eleanor Gloria." Indeed she was. Smoll, and full of herself. "I already know your name, Celestia Nightfallen. Now, with introductions out of the way, I want you to make a hypothesis about following: What do you think happened, and why?" Finally, the blonde girl put down her antique tool and looked up.

The room wasn't anything out of the ordinary. It had two couches with a coffee-table between. A bunch of drawers with books, magical utensiles and other stuffs, a door, and the place they were sitting at. Overall it looked to be a simple office room. Not to mention, magic seemed to work too.

Things were still a blur for the Dark witch when she finally regained consciousness. The fact that she didn't remember passing out at all was certainly disturbing but she has an inkling or two about why that happened in the first place.

After Parou ordered Celestia to accompany her in investigating the section with the strange humanoid-like entities, they were on the way to Section 4 of the singing rocks... But along the way, she was pulled into the shadows abruptly, separating her from Parou.

Inside the portal, she felt a wave of fatigue and exhaustion crash through her body before the portal ultimately spat her out to the terminal to Phantasmagoria. The panicked sight of the witches there was the last thing she remembered before waking up in this strangely comfortable interrogation room.

"I... I don't know. One minute, I was with our de facto squad leader... the next I was pulled into a portal, felt incredibly weak and tired while I was inside it, and finally it managed to chuck me out to that gateway room we use to go in and out of Phantasmagoria. " She explained. " Whatever the case, you have to believe me that what happened to me was beyond my control. I didn't want to leave my teammates.. "

A wave of realization hit Celestia as she suddenly remembered that she doesn't know whatever happened to her teammates.

" My teammates... What happened? To them?! Are they alright? " Celestia asked Eleanor desperately. If she finds out that none of them made it because she vanished when they needed her most, she would be haunted by the fact for the rest of her life.

"You should be concerned more about yourself than the other members of your squad." Eleanor replied, her usual neutral voice sounding just a tad harsher.

"I shall answer your question in due time. But for now, I require you to tell me what you think about these beings you call 'Savages'."

Celestia felt an internal sigh of relief upon the realization that someone from Phantasmagoria knew about the savages. From that, she could deduce that someone from her squad had made the report. What she doesn't, however, is that her squad had too close of an encounter with them.

"I... I don't know what to say. I never really had a chance to observe and interact with them up close... But they were doing these amazing feats like shooting flames from some sort of apparatus, and generating a type of shield... all without using magic." Celestia admitted.

There was no use trying to hide anything from the higher ups of Phantasmagoria. But at the same time, she can only tell the truth that she knows so grilling her any further for information would be an exercise in futility.

" The strange thing is, for a manifestation of Manablight, the undead creatures in the Singing Rocks were actively trying to kill them. And these savages were fighting back using the methods I said before." She added.

"That is because these 'Savages' aren't Manablight. And, even if it were the case, Lemuria would battle the Manablight nonetheless." Shifting around in her comfortable chair a bit, the girl now seemed to look just a bit more serious than before.

"Listen, and listen well, Celestia Nightfallen. I do not have the time, or the nerve, to spare with too much idle chatter. These 'Savages' are what we call the Iron Menace. It is exactly because of Witches like you that it had been decided to make knowledge about them a secret, with only specific Witch Squad's knowing about them. The fact you met the Iron Menace there was an accident." Eleanor sighed.

"You, and every other Witch - Questing or not - has been taught that contact with any kind of unknown force is to be considered an enemy. You do not try to sympathize and find dialogue with an enemy based on something insignificant like sharing a common appearance." She sounded quite angry actually.

"I have enough reasons to have you resign as a Questing Witch. Even alter your memory. But, you will be given another chance. The Iron Menace is not to be talked about unless you have been given permission. Have I made myself clear enough, Celestia Nightfallen?"

Celestia had many questions regarding these savages, Iron Menace, or whatever the people upstairs want to call them. Chiefly of which, is why does it seem that co-existence with them is not only impossible but outright taboo?

Was it really alright to keep people in the dark about this, specially the Questing Witches that have the highest chance of encountering them? If these two factions could form an alliance, then fighting the wicked forces that plague Horizon would be a lot easier.

Still, she couldn't deny that these people may harbor some hostility towards her kind. It is possible that her squadmates have encountered these savages back when she was taken out of commission so she'd have to ask them any info they hained about these people later.

Whatever her questions and reservations against Eleanor's demands, the Dark witch kept at bay. It would be unwise to openly show defiance to someone working upstairs, but she could still try to learn more about this Iron Menace on her own. After all, Eleanor only said that talking about them was off limits. Technicalities sure are wonderful things!

"Right, right. Don't wanna cause mass panic and unrest with that tidbit of information." Celestia replied. "Is there anything else that you need me for?"

"Really?" Eleanor replied. Surprised, even? "After what you've done you're just going to be obedient like that?" The blonde sighed.

"It's because of Witches like you that the Iron Menace is kept a secret in the first place." She explained to her.

"But, alright. Actions. For your next mission, you'll be re-assigned temporarily to another squad."

A smirk spread across Celestia's face when she realized how surprised she was when she played the obedient card.

"Well, well, well. With how you worded that, I would have thought that you actually wanted me to be a bit more naughty, Miss Eleanor." Celestia said in a mischievous manner.

"You, know, we could pretend our exchange a while ago never happened. And I could try putting a lot more resistance, if you so insist..." She whispered to the blonde witch's ear in a bewitching manner before backing away.

"I understand that assigning me to another squad is the best course of action at the moment. I don't think I'm prepared to face them after what happened. However, can I at least know the status of everyone in my squad?"

A brief moment of silence followed, before Eleanor spoke up. "Celestia Nightfallen. You seem to forget the place, and position, you are in. There are a lot of things I could do. It is only thanks to the interference of a certain trouble-maker that I hold in high esteem that I have choosen the most ineffective path of action to deal with you. Do not test my patience." With these words, Eleanor now stood up. Still smaller than Celestia though.

"With the exception of Parou Hitorie, who has likely ceased to exist, your squad is alright."

Celestia finally calmed down after she realized that Eleanor was getting a bit too flustered. Pressing people's buttons has its limitations and it seems that she has stumbled upon Eleanor's. Besides, it wasn't a good idea to piss off the Headmistress too much, considering her position and all.

She was taken aback when she heard that everyone made it back relatively safely except for Parou. She may not have been the friendliest witch, but Parou was an effective leader at least. She felt a pang of guilt in her chest since she probably could have saved her had it not been for that unexplainable incident.

"I see. I would assume those Iron Menace people were the ones who did this. Very well, I now see the truth in your words." Celestia replied in a solemn voice.

She was a fool to have hoped that another species would want to establish friendly ties just because they shared a common appearance. Although she wasn't necessarily out for blood, should the time come that they attempt to harm one of her friends again, she will not hesitate to unleash the full power of the darkness against them. If that meant more interactions with the Black Entity and the others, then so be it.

"I'd like to at least know the details of my next mission as well as who are going to be my next teammates. I understand that I have a part in the death of Parou Hitorie, and had I already knew what threat the Iron Menace posed when I discovered them during that reconnaissance assignment, I would have opted to redact that information from the rest of my squad. That said, I will try not to get another of my teammates killed. "

"You will be assigned to the A-Rank Team 'Duostronk', consisting of Dragonhunter Kikki and Coco of Cocoro." A small sigh escaped her lips.

"As for your mission, you'll see once you meet them. But there should be no reason to worry, Dragonhunter Kikki is a responsible Witch." After a small pause, Eleanor now added.

"Now, is that everything you wanted to know?"

Celestia was internally hurt when Eleanor emphasised that one of her new teammates was a "responsible" witch. It looks like she needed to rebuild her reputation again.

Then the Headmistress asked if there was anything else she'd like to know. YEAH. LIKE A LOT OF THINGS. What if they encounter the Iron Menace again in this mission? What if they had no choice but to fight. Of all the questions in Celestia's head that she tried to contain, one escaped her lips.

"Back there, at the singing rocks, I saw those savages perform what would have been considered as magical feats all without expending the tiniest amount of mana. If a witch were to fight one of them, like forced to fight with no chance of retreat, do we stand a chance? "

A few seconds passed before Eleanor started to laugh. Mockingly, somewhat. Loud.

"Stand a chance?" She asked, somewhat amused. "But of course. They should be no match for a Witch. They're weak, and fragile. Regardless of their numbers and fancy tactics. The only real threat are so called 'Alchemists' who can, to put it in very simple terms, nullify our magic. They are, however, only a few among them." Eleanor gave her some amount of information.

"That said, you should never make light of your enemy."

Celestia was surprised at how Eleanor laughed at her question. For a threat to Witches, she seems to think lowly of the capabilities of the Iron Menace, claiming that no ordinary savage can stand up to the might of a witch.

That said, she did reveal another piece of useful information that could potentially help her out in the future... There are those among them, while few and far in between, that could possibly nullify their magic. So when it comes down to it, if she encounters one of them, she would either have to eliminate the threat they pose immediately or retreat.

"On the contrary, I seem to have a habit of overestimating my enemy, judging by your response. It is comforting to know that we can still fight against them even though we are told to avoid contact with them." She replied.

"That is all I need to know. I'll leave it to my seniors to do the general decision-making this time. It seems I have much to learn in that department as well. The last thing I'd like to ask is where I could find Kiki and Coco. I would at least like to talk to my former teammates first before I embark on my next mission. " Celestia added.

"Either of those two should approach you, rather sooner than later I hope. That said, while Coco of Cocoro's schedule is too unpredictable for me to inform you about her whereabouts, Dragonhunter Kikki is - if not otherwise occupied - usually found in the hub. You can ask one of the Managers for better direction." With these words, Eleanor finally sat down again.

"Chika, if you could escort Celestia Nightfallen outside, now." Speaking in her usual calm fashion, the only door to the office opened as Manager Chika entered.

Giving Celestia and Eleanor a small bow, the girl spoke in her usual monotone voice. "Hello, I hope you had a pleasant stay. Please follow me outside and try not to be annoying."

With these words, Chika turned around, not waiting too much on Celestia to follow she would walk down the same hallway she did with the other Witches.

The same monotone stone-walls with countless doors leading to countless offices(?) to be slowly replaced by glass and more glass. And, just like with the others, the two would use the same teleporter into the dusty storage room of the hub.

Unlike before, however, there was nobody here anymore. Not even the Uwuwitch. "This way, please." Making sure Celestia wouldn't just peek around the stored assets freely, Chika continued to escort Celestia into the hub's main area.

"And, before you ask: No, Kikki is currently on a mission." The girl said without even as much as looking at Celestia.

Celestia was a bit disappointed really. Neither her old squad mates nor her new ones were present. She wanted to take her mind off things by either getting to know her new partners, or apologizing and checking up on her old teammates. Since the main area of the hub could put a ghost town to shame, Celestia merely gave her thanks to Chika before deciding to go back to her apartment.

On the way, to her loft, she passed by a store that sells an assortment of dolls. These range from simple dolls young witches can be often seen playing with to highly prized figurines made by renowned craftswomen. Some of these dolls were also being used for magic like applying certain curses to a target or supporting someone from afar.

She was about to continue on her way home when she noticed something that piqued her attention. Displayed at a pedestal by the windowsill of the doll shop was a doll dressed as a ballerina. The detail that caught her attention was that the legs of the dolls seemed to be made of metal while the rest was porcelain. It reminded her of their recently deceased leader, and since it seemed like Parou's body was never recovered, something compelled her to purchase the doll.

After such a dreary day, she opted to spoil herself a bit. Even though she hasn't received her share of the payment yet, she always has some spare flow reserved specifically for splurging on sweets. This time, she decided to go to Memoria's Memento cafe. It was one of the newly opened cake shops that seemed to be gaining quite a bit of popularity but she never got the chance to visit it due to how notoriously difficult it is to find.

Upon arriving at the cafe, the first thing that greeted her was the sweet scents of various aromas of coffee flavors mixing in the air. Then she spotted Melora and Aurora about to order something as well.

Part of Celestia wanted to dart out of the cafe right then and there. It seems that she was still afraid about facing her comrades when she wasn't there for them during their time of need. She also felt partly responsible for the party's misfortunes and Parou's death. She wonders what would have happened if she had just kept her mouth shut about the things she saw in that section of the singing rocks.

But she had to confront them, even if they would tell her things that would hurt her... Even if she will put all the blame of Parou's death on her. Delaying it any further and running away would just leave a bad wound to fester.

"Hello Melora and Aurora. And to you as well, Rune." She gives a solemn bow to the three. "I'm sorry for what happened... Specially to Parou. I'm sorry I wasn't there to fight off those savages. Something happened with my magic that removed me from the battlefield, sent me back to the telportation room, and rendered med unconscious. By the time I woke up, I was being interrogated by the headmistress. " She said in a shaky voice as she braced herself for the painful words either of the two witches would send her way and whatever Rune would do to her.

"Maybe that's part of it? Make it unique?" Melora posited.

The moment only lasted for a second as Rune interrupted to keep her method of eating a secret. That seemed pretty fair to Melora. "So, no cake for Rune, then."

Melora caught sight of Celestia first. The awkwardness of the group was clear. Melora could let the air hang and make things worse... but she opted to stuff down all the blame and guilt and try just to enjoy the cake. There was no point to dragging out new wounds when they all needed time for it heal.

"Why don't you join us? Cake sounds really good after a long day like today."

Melora put on a smile and a laugh, but she was hurting too. Cake could bridge the gap for now, but eventually she was going to have to confront what happened today. All of it.

"...Therefore, as it stands I've decided that I'd take up the position as squad head in light of what has happened."

Seia wrapped up her report with her Praetorian Mentor with completely succinctity. Of course, the first thing that her mentor points out right afterward is the distinct lack of sword on her person. Forcing Seia to explain - rather admit what was obvious.

"I've lost it. I am rather disheartened over it. It took me a long while to save up for it."

Seia admits this with muted self-dejection.

Seia's mentor waves her loss of her sword aside. Mentioning that such things were normal on missions. What takes her mentor's interest though, is what Seia was seen to be capable of doing during a certain part of a mission. Namely, her advanced swordplay skill she used to cut a major swath through the Lemuria during one part of the mission.

That was basically one of the signature attacks of Cardinal Hasabe Augustus. 'Scathing Ascension.'

A high tier technique that someone of Seia's ranks should've been nowhere near to being close enough to perform.
But, then again, Seia wasn't exactly normal when it came to Praetorian Witches starting out. Maybe... her mentor thinks, Seia is up to possibly having a weapon bounded to her at this point.

Curious, Seia asks them to explain further... and so they begin a 20 minute long lecture. A 'short' one in Seia's point of view.

Memoria's Memento Cafe

As the group of now four hurried towards the counter, it became quickly clear that the pieces there were just for exhibition. Instead, one of the waitresses noticed their slight-confusion and came over. With a smile as bright as the sun, the in maid-clothed girl greeted them with a bow. "Welcome to Memoria's Memento Cafe!" Taking a good look at them, she continued. "It's your first time here, yes?" Smiling, she clapped both of her hands together. "Great! I'm sure you'll have a great experience!"

Guiding them towards a free table and giving each a menu, Lydia waited patiently to receive their orders, as she mostly stared at Rune. Half-smiling and half in thought.

"Celestia.... I...." Aurora began a thought, but it was slow and unsure enough for the waitress to easily interrupt, sweeping them off to a table. Rune simply shrugged on route, paying the confession no mind whatsoever.

"Experience...?" she mumbled inaudibly to herself.

Now with a menu in her face, Aurora perused her options, though her eyes continued darting back and forth between the pages and Celestia. After a few moments of this, she lowered the menu and stared into her eyes directly.

"I am... maybe... a little bit mad at you for that... but if you say it was an accident, I'll believe you. I know how that feels better than anyone..." she sighed, shaking her head to be rid of the serious tone in her voice. "But never mind that, I don't wanna think about it right now. Let's just enjoy some cake! Specifically.... I'll go wiiith... Triple Chocolate Deluxe, please!"

Meanwhile, Rune was playing with some of the fancy table decorations, before she finally noticed the weirdo staring her down. She returned a gaze that somewhat resembled a gangster interrupted by someone in a clown suit while trying to complete a drug deal. A resounding what're you lookin' at? mixed with a solid why are you even here?

Celestia felt herself breathe an internal sigh of relief when she heard Melora and Aurora's responses. Although she was a bit anxious how Aurora was a bit upset with her, she seems to understand that what happened really was an accident.

It seems that everyone was in consensus that now was not the time to reminisce painful events but indulge in blissfully sweet pastries. Aurora was the first to order what should be a decadent triple chocolate cake, but Celestia prefers herself not to be overwhelmed by a single distinct flavor.

"In that case, I'll have the "Enchanted Black Forest, if you'd ve so kind." Celestia said to the waitress.

"By the way, where are Seia and Eirlys? Are they doing fine as well?" The silver haired witch asked her two companions inquisitively.

"Oo, that looks good too..." Aurora murmured as Celestia ordered, frowning slightly once she'd moved onto her question. "I'm not sure. I think Seia was really upset about losing her sword, and I have no clue where Eirlys ran off to... I hope they're alright though. But anyway: positivity! It's cake time!" she delcared, clapping her hands together while Rune finally let the waitress off the hook to play around with the fancy napkins.

Blissfully, the awkwardness quickly died off as the waitress now guided the four of them to their table. The menus were passed out quickly, and while Melora was debating between the cheesecake and the chocolate cakes, while the other two chatted. It was nice in the way that rarely happened. Maybe Melora should keep track of more fun things to do as a team.

"And I'll have the Blessed Strawberry Cheescake, please. Oh, uh our last companion doesn't eat. She's a Golem, so..."
Melora said as she handed bak the menu.

"Yes, Seia is replacing her sword and I believe that Eirlys was... I think she went home. We meant to give her her pay, but... no such luck."
Melora sighed. She also slipped Rune her napkins, letting the Golem be able to do something while they were all eating.

"Triple Chocolate Deluxe, Enchanted Black Forest, and Blessed Strawberry Cheesecake. Good choices!" The waitress replied as she noted down the orders, finally having stopped staring at Rune. "And what would you like to drink?" She asked, now again looking at the Golem. "Anything for her? We could provide special services for Golems!"

"..."

Rune glared back at the waitress as she offered her dubious 'services,' shaking its head insistently and making a quick 'I'll be watching you' gesture.

"Hmm... maybe a hot chocolate? That sounds good. Uhm... nothing for Rune: golem fuel is sort of expensive...." she admitted, scratching the scar by her eye awkwardly.

It simply would not do.

Seia was immediately rejected by the armory master. Even with the many, many, weapons that were carefully stored about with great care, apparently there was not one out there available to someone who was so... inexperienced. Seia's mentor argued for her however, citing her training and competence, as well as her ability she displayed against the enemy in the last mission.

If it were up to skill along, Seia was arguably qualified.

However, for the smith, being able to hold one of these special weapons was not just about who was able to wield a sword proficiently... rather it was about one who would be able to understand the feelings of the blade.

This was the first time Seia had ever heard of swords having feelings.
But, as explained by the amory keeper, these blades indeed have feelings. Sentiments of the ones whom forged them imbued into them. In a way, they were sentient. Enough to heed the call of their master once they were properly binded to them.

Not taking to well to rejection, Seia herself began to persist. She insisted that she needed a sword that would be able to resist being lost in the Phantasmagoria every time she dropped it.

The armory master asked her back a paradoxical question, of whether the sword needed her?
Seia frowned at the riddle.

She held out her hand. Politely and firmly asking for a chance. Even the worst that there was to offer among the blades.

The armory master waves her away. Warning her that rejection by a blade is something not to be taken lightly.

But, the praetorian continues to insist.

Ultimately, the armory master does bring out a weapon. A curved blade with an orange hue. Unlike the other weapons displayed openly, this one is sealed in a box so as to not be easily accessed. Opening it, they say that this weapon is sealed away due to it reacting so badly to some witches that some would even get hospitalized.

Using magic... they hover it over towards Seia. Where it gently floats to her feet.

The armory master dares Seia to touch it - and see for herself what they were warning her about touching such blades. If there was one weapon they were trying to 'get rid of' it was this one.

Without hesitation, Seia kneels down to pick it up.
She puts her hands around the blade's handle....

The handle grips into her skin like a magnet.
Seia's very psyche is suddenly connected. A feeling of an overpowering presence overcomes her conciousness as she seems to descend into a sleep... frozen as she was posed.

"Do you have any milk teas?" Melora asked. "I like those, and with a little honey please?"

Melora handed the menu back to the waitress, smiling. This was already proving to be quite interesting.

"Be nice, Rune. I mean, don't you want some fuel later?"
Melora teased.

"Alright! One hot chocolate, and a milk tea!" The girl replied happily as she waited a bit longer. "Maybe the other two ladies have decided by the time I return." Meaning Rune and Celestia. With these words, the Witch gave a light bow before turning into a staff door that likely lead into the kitchen.

Only a few minutes passed before the young Witch returned, gracefully carrying an arrangement of cups and plates that she swiftly put in front of her guests. Melora even had a small pot of honey to dose her own milk.

"Would you like a solo or a group Memoria? Or split it up?" She now asked. "Being first timer, we suggest the solo variant." Noticing their confused looks, she hastily added. "Oh! You didn't know? Our cakes let you experience a wonderful event with all of your senses!" She nodded. "Sort of a trance, everybody loves it!" Now that she mentioned it, the cafe was indeed rather 'silent' as most people seemed to consume their cake in some sort of trance, looking nonetheless like they were truly enjoying themselves.

"...wonderful event..."

Runes eyes narrowed at the waitress, having only confirmed her previous suspicions.

Drugs.
Magical drugs.

Aurora, being Aurora, was much less worried about the idea...

"Wow, really? That sounds so neat! So it's like a dreamscape? Hm..." she pondered a moment. "I think I'd like to try it together with you all! It could be a like a team bonding thing! All of us together, enjoying the magic cake land!"

Somewhere under the table out of Aurora's sight, Rune made several mocking gestures as she spoke.

Melora listened to Aurora and considered the options before them. While Solo was recommended for the first time, they all really did need a group activity that wasn't just plain suffering. Or dealing with Lemura. Or apparently the Iron Menace. At least the trance wouldn't kill them. Hopefully.

"I say we do it together as well. We came for a team bonding cooldown after a long mission, so doing something together sounds fun."

Melora added, "what do you mean by Memoria?"
