Pete shoved her hands in her pockets. It was freezing and the wind was biting at her skin. She had considered staying back with the little kids and Cassidy, but she needed more cigarettes and din't want to bum them off the family. She'd had an awful night because of nightmares and wasn't in the mood to deal with the energetic younger children.
Pete watched the people around her as she walked along the sidewalk. She couldn't get cigarettes from a store not only did they card you, but they kept them locked up behind the counter so Pete's way of getting cigarettes was to watch for someone who was smoking and then pick-pocket their carton.
Another icy burst of wind hit Pete in the face and she sucked her breath in slightly. Bulgaria could get pretty cold and she'd lived here as a prostitute for about 3 years so she was use to the cold and could normally deal with it, but that didn't make it enjoyable.
The small girl stood against a wall and watched a man at the bus stop pull a carton of cigarettes from his pocket. This would be her next victim, she would wait for the bus to get here and everyone was trying to get on. He'd be less likely to notice her then. [/fieldbox]

The aliens were coming, Cub was sure of that, they were going to come one day and try to take over the world and when they did come he must be prepared to either assimilate into their culture or fight for his world.
Cub sprinted across the warehouse wearing just a set of navy blue boxer briefs with orange trim and skulls on them, and jumped forward into a hand spring. He darted across the floor again and leaping grabbed a ladder rung. He started to try to pull himself up the ladder with only his arms, but failing at that he scampered up to the old observation. He army crawled along the rusted metal platform and leaped to his feet,
"Bang, bang! This is my world!" he called out aiming his finger gun at imaginary aliens before throwing himself down again and crawling back to the ladder. He swung down and jumped off the ladder landing on his feet with a thud.
Cub sprinted across the room towards the twins and then leaped tackling one of them to the ground,
"Get down!" he warned. Cub liked to have pretend battles with aliens, he said it was training for the 'actual event', and would often drag the other little kids into it. [/fieldbox]

Kiri was helping Cassidy unpack and make the 'beds. The beds were various things from roll out mattresses to yoga mats to just a comforter that the person would roll up in. Not everyone had their own bed some would have to share.
They'd pretty much just 'moved' into this warehouse. The Phalanax never stayed in one place too long it was too dangerous with as big a group as they had they needed to keep moving to avoid being busted by the cops. They had little hideouts throughout New York City in case stuff went south, but finding a place big enough for all of them to live in was a challenge.
Kiri glanced over when Cub started making yelling stuff. She didn't get how that boy could run around in just underwear in weather like this. Kiri was in a set of overalls, a t-shirt, and an old hoodie that was a bit oversized on her. Of course Cub had practically grown up in New York, she had grown up in India and even when she was here with her husband she'd been inside most of the time.
The child shook her head to clear it of the memories starting to surface and went back to focusing on getting the beds down. She paused as she counted what they had for bedding and how many people. Toby, Teddy, and Cub could share as the three smallest boys. She could figure out a way to pair up Mackenzie, Tierra, TG, Pete, and herself that would free up beds/bedding for the older and bigger kids. Though Pete hated sharing a bed and would rather role up in even a thin blanket on her own than share and MacKenzie preferred to cling to Cassy than hang out with the younger kids so Kiri wasn't sure what to do.
Kiri went to the backdoor and opening it peeked outside, looking around until she saw Cassy and MacKenzie.
"Cass, how do you...want beds...split?" she asked quietly struggling with her words as she looked towards the matriarch of the family.[/fieldbox]
