You've just given me a scathingly brilliant idea!

Set in a small town on the outskirts of Chicago, two friends discover their apartment building's basement is haunted by a powerful spirit who lived in the early 1800's. As they return to visit again and again, the spirit feeds off their energies and soon has enough power to send them back in time to when it was still alive. The only way to get back home is to make the spirit be at peace at the time of its inevitable death, which is no small task.
