Levi Young
Age: 28
Family: born into the young family, Levi is one of several children. His immediate family is comprised of three boys and four girls however their wider family make up a portion of their community. The community is comprised of the Young, Lee, Boswell and Grey families with several marriages tying them together. The head of the young family is their Great Grandfather.
Features: Standing at 5'9" Levi is of a lean build, blue eyes, black hair and olive complexion. He has a deformed left earlobe due to the lower portion of the lobe being cut off during a fight.
Personality: well known to be loud and jovial it is hard not to notice the young man in town despite the obvious fact that he does not belong there to begin with. Sporting a free spirited attitude Levi is more often seen raising the atmosphere with his friends no matter the occasion. When angered he is brash and quite often fights before asking questions has landed him in a brawl over menial things. Loyal to his family and culture, he represents his family with pride. Skilled in the art of training and wrangling horses, Levi earns himself a decent wage through the family business although is not above frequently pick pocketing or stealing from anyone he sees fit. It is common for Levi to skillfully deceive others through simple trickery and schemes.
Likes: sleeping out by the fire, ma's stew and dumplings, making quick cash, parties
Dislikes: regular townies, cops, upper class people
Bio: Born in the fields near the family campsite the third of seven children, Levi was brought up in the community alongside his friend, siblings and cousins. Quick to learn that the community was the safest place to live as a gypsy through several incidences, Levi understood early on in life that he would always be looked down upon however there was a pride instilled in respects to his family. As a child he became well versed in pick pocketing through crowds and often spent hours in town with his friends stealing and subsequently hiding from the constabulary when someone was caught. As he grew up he was educated through his family, particularly by his father, uncle and grandfather who taught him how to train and sell horses for a tidy profit as well as less ethical methods of profiting.
In his late teens to early twenties Levi made friends beyond the community and became more of a regular face in town, either in the middle of a scrap or running small games in the streets where he could fleece people for quick cash. At the outbreak of war, several men from the community took up arms in the fight despite the open lack of respect from townsfolk. Having spent much of his past time hunting out in the fields, his skill with a rifle meant he was able to join the army as a marksman. His time in the war is not openly advertised with the only reference raised being a small set of medals his mother keeps in a chest. Unlike most of the men that came back, Levi seems to experience little in the way of post traumatic stress however is prone to throwing a fist if asked too many questions about war.
Upon return home the community held funerals for the fallen followed by a large celebration before life resumed as though little had occurred. Though Levi now spends a lot of time with people he met during his service and carries himself with a new maturity one only sports when facing the terrors of war. Still loud and proud, Levi takes little crap and loves a good feast.
