Rylund's Lab and Training Facility
"Yes actually, I can show you. I have some errands to run in the city." Rylund walked to his private backroom with ice sandshrew on his shoulders. "Just need to put this little guy down for his nap, first. I'll be right with you in a moment." He disappeared inside his room. "You're new, right? Did you sign your name beside your type selection on the sign up sheet?" He asked him as he returned into the lobby, bringing the clipboard off of the wall to Albert just in case. Allowing Albert some time if need be, he waited patiently.
Toddling into the lobby from the automatic glass doors, was a short sauropod with iridescent sails atop it's head. "Ah Tito, there you are. We have some shopping to do." Rylund snuck away like a ninja and was back again with a floppy hat for the miniature Amaura which protected the ice type from the melting sun. "Well then," Rylund gave himself an accomplished nod. "Shall we get going?" Amaaa. The smaller than usual ice dinosaur followed at their feet as they exited out into the open air.
As they arrived at the center of town, they passed by a particular five star restaurant with a brilliant aquarium as their window. The frosty haired mayor Nero could be seen walking across the street and entering into his townhome with a paper bag of groceries. Meanwhile, a teen with smoky hair and ripped jeans approached them taking up the sidewalk with no sign of moving over. "Get wrecked." He shoved through the Professor and Albert breaking Rylund out of his daydreaming. Rylund just watched the delinquent off blankly, confused of his behavior.
"Never mind him, we're halfway to the port." Rylund decided. Tito was bobbing along ahead of them, not realizing what had happened. Before they knew it, they finally made it there to find that the ferry had left without Albert. "Today isn't your day, is it?" Rylund asked cocking a brow. "Not to worry. The next ferry should be arriving around noon." The Professor assured him. "Will you be alright here by yourself?" He asked. Tito blinked his glistening glassy eyes at the strange human with the Professor, curious to know why they were there with him.
The Daycare Center in Keukelo
"WE'RE HEREEE!" Harmony announced anxioussly, easing out of the pool with both Eev and Oricio scooped up into her arms. She quickly grabbed the egg underneath her arm and hightailed it away from the haunted anchor.
She discovered that it appeared to be non-threatening when seeing a familiar trainee with his klefki, but she still wasn't sure of the thing. It seemed to be newly caught and just as terrifying as it would be in the wild.
"I'll- see you guys at the daycare..." Her voice trailed off, attempting to hide away her fear. She nearly ran into Pendragon if it wasn't for Eev alerting her with a warning cry. Oricio scrambled out of her arms and began to climb her now drying hair. "Oh, hi Pendragon. Those look yummy." Harmony saw the treats that he now had, and Eev noticed too with a lick of the lips.
She noticed a waterfront hotel across from the docks, and beside it a cozy little place at the corner of the city near the water. "That must be the daycare center!" Harmony squealed, "Let's go check it out!" Harmony skipped the way to the center giddily.
As they approached, the automatic glass doors slid open and they were welcomed inside the warm lobby by a volunteer. "Hi. Welcome in. Are you here to volunteer?" Nelle asked, holding a cuddly Stufful against her chest.
"NELLE?..." Harmony noticed her old childhood friend. An uncomfortable silence of realization between them both. "U-um We're here for the Professor's training assignment." Harmony said with a weak smile.
"Hi, Harmony... Oh. Right. Rodney, the daycare owner is waiting for you all outside." Nelle led them to the backdoors where a private little shore and the daycare facilities awaited out back. Harmony's eyes began to glow. "This place is... AMAZING." They stepped outside to be greeted by Kangaskhan with a pouch full of baby pokemon that lit up with boisterous greetings. "OH MY GOSH." Harmony nearly fainted at the cuteness before her, as she knelt down to give them a wave and introduction to Eev.
"Hello." A voice said. A man with a fiery red beard came into view and greeted them. A butterfree hovering at his side. "You must be the trainees for the gym leader initiation." He gave them a friendly smile.
"Hiii!" Harmony peeped. "Yes, that's us! My name's Harmony and these are my pokemon Eev and Oricio." She smiled brightly to the man. "You must be the daycare owner." Harmony guessed. He nodded to her with smiling eyes. "Along with my wife."
Splashing from the rocky water nearby, a lady with scuba gear emerged from the surface and made her way over from the little stretch of beach. "Speaking of which, here she is. I'm Rodney and this is my wife Mermella. Call me Rod if you'd like."
Mermella gave a wet smile as she pulled off her head gear and held up a golden yellow egg that she had retrieved from her dive. "Hi there. I found us another one to look after." She smiled to Rod who was pleased to see her discovery. "C'mon over, and we'll show you the eggs." She offered the the trainees. She led them over to the row of eggs warming on a sandhill, others in a manmade nest.
Before Harmony began to follow them, Harmony stopped and turned to say goodbye to Nelle, "Bye Nelle, it was good to-" She noticed that her old friend has disappeared already back into the center. Harmony sighed and followed the others. They arrived to a little lagoon kept hidden by Keukelo's tallest mountain on the daycare's private property. There she saw the eggs resting in their places.
Standing by the water, a lady with long mauve hair in a well fitted suit. Harmony then recognized her. It was Leoluna's own Paleontologist, Dr. Blaire Venastone. She wanted to introduce herself, but she didn't want to interrupt whatever she was doing. "We have a special visitor, Dr. Venastone came by to check on her little horsea that she's helping to find a home for."
"That's so sweet of her!" Harmony smiled. Dr. Venastone was at the edge of the lagoon in the distance giving the baby horsea company with her own Pokemon that looked similar to a sea horse, but much larger and complex in design.
CHANSEY! A Chansey assistant hopped up to the trainees with a colorful egg inside of her pouch. "Aw, hi there!" Harmony beamed and watched as the Chansey switched out another egg to keep close in her pouch. "Wow... what a helpful pokemon!"
"Chansey has been here for a long time. Go ahead and pick an egg." Rodney encourged Pendragon.
"Oh gosh-I wonder which I should choose...." Harmony thought aloud, looking over all of the colorful eggs. She glanced back to the golden yellow egg in Mermella's arm and she felt a calling toward it. "Can I choose that one?"
"Oh! I thought you already chose one." Rodney said, seeing Harmony's purple egg. "This one was a gift." Harmony said with giggle. "It's your's then! The more eggs hatched, the better I say!" Mermella handed over the new egg with a smile.
"Thank you so much!" Harmony gave a big, shiny smile. "I'll take very good care of it!" She held it close against Eev and her other egg. Riiii! Oricio cheered from Harmony's hair. "Which will you choose???" Harmony asked Pendragon joyfully.
