Citlali
The young Taurian had woken to the tap of Boo's long finger on his door, but he hadn't left his room immediately. His small fingers were deftly tapping away on the small screen on his right forearm, recording and saving the data from the previous day. Citlali, as the little one was named, had only come to the orphanage a few days ago and this was the first time he'd gotten the morning summons for daybreak meal. He had to record that before leaving the room he had been allotted. The alien, as the others would perceive him, made his way out of his room already fully dressed and hair messy. To him, everyone else was was an alien and since he hadn't met the majority of their species, he'd have to be careful. Citlali had already found an attachment with one of the residents at this child-house, an older one named Atlas. Atlas had long, soft ears and none of the oddities that some of the others had. In fact, it seemed that half the population here had something strange about them and it was something he didn't like. It was almost as if they were different in a way he had yet to become aware yet. Citlali didn't find his friend at daybreak meal, but he did find that the food was actually quite good. He had stubbornly refused to try it the first two days, but eventually hunger and curiosity had gotten the better of him. The alien had kept his head down as it seemed that the other children his size didn't eat quite as much as he did. Once he had gotten his fill, he left the food room and began to wander about the building in search of Atlas. Citlali didn't think that Atlas thought he was weird and he didn't think that Atlas was weird either. Mutual non-weirdness was his basis for being fond of the rabbit eared one. He walked for what felt like forever before doubling back and walking outside. The alien had noticed Boo watching him, but it didn't bother him at all. Boo was his "pet" and such stares were normal with this creature. Citlali looked around outside and before he found Atlas, he found some kind of small buzzing insect flitting around. It had black and yellow stripes that were rather striking and seemed to be fond of flowers. He stared at it with bright green eyes, following the small creature as it made its way farther from the building and closer to the border. The alien jabbered at the creature in his native language, asking it if it knew where Atlas was. Probably not, since it was so busy, but he would still interrogate the insect.
"Wo sha'ram a da Atlas asumade?" Citlali asked the creature, speaking loudly and putting it off.
That didn't stop him! He was determined to find his friend and he'd chase the buzzing yellow and black stripe until it answered him! The alien continued on in this manner, getting increasingly frustrated with the insect and unwittingly closer to a group of others.

Momo observed as a steamy tension formed in the corridor that was once (about two minutes ago) an innocent, friendly parade. She watched Versie's every move, down to the way her feminine fingers tugged at the lovingly braided hairs of the forest spirit. Her forest spirit.

"Why is Versie-nya getting so close to Momo's Atlas?" she pondered.
And then it happened. A quick wink and some words that Momo didn't understand were shot out in a instant--but Momo didn't need to understand the words to know what was going on. Versie was there to steal Atlas.

"This is....this is....u-unyacceptable..!"

Momo waited for Atlas' response, but in moments she had already reached the brink of insanity. She didn't want to know Atlas' response. Part of her wanted to scream and cry, but the other knew that would only hurt, and not help.
And if Versie wanted Atlas, there's no way Momo would be able to stop her.

"...Versie-nya is Momo's friend!" Momo was overwhelmed. She had never experienced conflict quite like this.
Not knowing what to do, Momoko decided to opt out of the situation. Making her way down the tall spirit's back, she curtsied with a counterfeit smile.

"Nya~ look at the time! 'Guess Momo won't be able to go on a walk today, Atlas-nya..!" Not leaving any room for response, she was off.

"If Versie-nya wants Atlas-nya, she can have him."

Aeo winced, his mouth falling open as the icy cold water splashed over Amethyst. He might have laughed if he hadn't fallen victim to this prank before; Aeo knew that the water was FREEZING, and it certainly wasn't fun to be covered in the icy water. Kreskes however seemed to be laughing his socks off, and Aeo knew that this was revenge for yesterday. Kreskes had sat on some thumb tacks... and... whilst it was funny for the class at first, Aeo knew Kreskes would seek revenge. One does not simply get one over Kreskes.

Aeo blinked twice as Amethyst requested for him to dry his hair. He still wasn't sure about the towel, even if Kreskes had said he wouldn't prank the same person twice. What if it was a double-prank - prankception?!
"Uh... w-well..." Aeo began unsurely, but then the puppy eyes came into effect. Aeo's face became a little flushed before he gave in, taking the towel.

"Okay..." He mumbled unsurely. He'd never dried a girl's hair before, and he was sure rub the towel against her silver hair gently and carefully; messing up someone's hair was what Aeo saw as a first-class crime.

Aeo's eyes widened as Kreskes let out a subtle wolf whistle behind him. Sometimes the caretaker acted like a big kid, but that was why most of the orphans loved him so.
"K-Kreskes...!" Aeo snapped, glaring back at the caretaker.

"Hmm? I didn't say anything." Kreskes replied innocently, looking at a purple-hardback book with apparent interest.

A little flustered, Aeo turned back and continued doing his best to dry Amethyst's hair of the icy water. A few seconds later, he heard Kreskes humming a tune extremely quietly, but Aeo's catlike ears stuck upright to pick it up.

"Love is in the air... da-da-da da-da-da... love is in th-" Kreskes hummed, stopping when he saw Aeo's red and angry face looking at him.
"Now, now, Aeo. No need to look like that; I'm only joking. I was young once, you know." Kreskes said knowingly, tipping his top hat with a smile. Kreskes used his top hat not only as a classy fashion statement, but inside were all sorts of tricks and items that were useful to him. Although it was only a rumour, some kids said his top hat was portal to a different dimension. Aeo wasn't sure whether to believe that, but Aeo had a secret plan to steal the top hat one day and double-check.

Once Aeo had finished his careful work at drying Amethyst's hair without making it look too messy, Aeo aimed for Kreskes' top hat as he hurled the towel back. As if the top hat had a mind of it's own, it jumped from Kreskes' head and dodged the towel, before landing neatly back on his head. Aeo was speechless.

Acting as if nothing happened, Kreskes closed his book.
"Very well. Shall we begin with a little warm-up session? The class is quite empty today."

Amethyst White
Amethyst watched Hadlee with her amber eyes twinkling with curiosity as Hadlee took her seat at the back, her cheeks getting red for being late for class.

Mustering the courage she needed, she took a deep breath and waved
"Hey, Hadlee!" Amethyst called, giving the ram humanoid her brightest smile.

She and Hadlee had never interacted before and she only knew her by name and face. She heard from the other children that she's very smart and that nobody ever heard her speak. Of course, being the curious child Amethyst is, she wanted to be friends with her.

As Aeo dried her hair carefully and gently, she can't help but blush when she heard a subtle wolf whistle. She knew who the culprit was and gave Kreskes a glare but he just smirked at her with that devilish smirk.

"Sometimes I want to wipe that smirk off of his face" she mumbled to herself, her hands gripping her dress out of embarrassment. "Uhm... Aeo-kun...Thank you..." she mumbled, flushing red as he finished drying her hair. She combed her short silver locks with her fingers; now finally dry, thanks to the shape shifter beside her.

She then watched Aeo hurled the towel back to Kreskes, aiming for his hat. She let out a giggle when the hat jumped, dodging his attack.

"So it is true! Your hat is alive!" she exclaimed at Kreskes, pointing a finger on the top hat.

"Amethyst, calm down. I assure you that my hat isn't alive" he explained, flipping through the pages of his book.

"But I saw it jump! Can I borrow your hat? Please? Even for just a minute?" she pleaded, giving him her best puppy eyes, hoping that he'll say yes.

The Yehl simply looked at him and shrugged her request.
"Very well. Shall we begin with a little warm-up session? The class is quite empty today" Kreskes said.

She was about to protest but decided to keep her mouth shut, afraid that another bucket of water will be splashed on her.

It would have been an understatement to claim that Jake had slept badly last night. In fact, he was pretty sure there was not enough words to describe how shitty he felt right now, as nothing would make it any justice. Call him melodramatic, but if Jackson Elwood appreciated something, it was a good night's rest. And if it was taken from him, you would be having one hell of a grumpy teenage Fae-Ghoul in your hands. Which it just so happened, that is exactly what Jake was today; sleep deprived and on the edge. To make matters even worse, he had overslept and missed breakfast, making him also hungry and pretty much ready for murder. (Figuratively speaking... maybe. Let's not cross out any possible outcomes.)

So why was the boy dragging his feet with a scowl in the hallways? All because he had gotten attached to people in the past years. The hybrid boy had gotten used to someone always being there with him in the room while he slept, listening to the deep breathing of his roommate Atlas through the night or sharing his bed with Momo, the little Asian cat girl who was like a little sister to him that he never had, who sometimes came into the room for a sleepover and curled up against his side and together they would snore through the night. (And every time, Jake either found himself pushed to the floor from his own bed. Or her foot in his mouth. Or both.) But last night, neither of them were there. Atlas had probably gone up to sleep in the Crow's Nest and Momo did not make an appearance, both of them leaving Jake to rule alone over the majestic kingdom of their shared room. One would think he would have been happy to have the room and his bed all by himself and enjoy alone time, since it was no secret that he was an introvert. But despite it, every time he was sleeping alone in the room, it felt... too quiet. Too big. Too empty. Too lonesome. Without another presence there with him, Jake felt like he could not relax and drift off, so he had been just turning and throwing around in his bed until the little hours. And when he finally had felt the sleep claim him, it was four in the morning. So when Boo came to wake him up with the rest of the kids like always, Jake had been too exhausted to even hear the tap, slumbering through it peacefully. And nobody was there to wake him up.

Grumpling to himself, the sharp teeth flashing between his lips like he was about to snarl, Jake was making his way towards Kreskes' class that he was already royally late from. But since he was already late, there was really no point in hurrying up, so the dark haired young man kept his walking pace casual, if not a bit sluggish, which would have made his distant zombie cousins proud.

To say that Atlas was confused would've have been understatement. Despite his usually deep empathy for others, anything that passes the realm of 'friendship' seems to be an utter mystery to him. Much like romantic fairy tales, Atlas had always just associated romance towards books and novels. His naivety towards the subject always appeared to astound others and he's made a note once or twice to consult Cupid about his predicament but has never really gotten the chance. That time he decided to consult Jake wasn't exactly...enlightening to say the least.

For a rare time moment, Atlas was completely at a loss for words. It took Momo's sudden departure to stir some sort of response from him. He could only offer a startled glance at her retreating figure with a hint of worry and disappointment in his eyes. It wasn't like the little kitten to pass up their daily morning walks. He vaguely wondered what could have made her run off like that.

"Is...is that so?" Atlas faltered, managing to at least not appear flustered.

He supposed his rather long hair may contribute to some form of feminine traits. Shortening its length had crossed his mind once or twice but he knew that Momo would be sorely disappointed for losing her braiding template. As for the 'yummy' comment he assumed that perhaps she could smell the berries hidden away in his coat pocket.

There was a moment, as he observed the otherworldly girl, that he realized he must have struck a good chord with her. Her face seemed to light up at his words, and her galaxy-esque hair actually levitated in harmony to the new smile she took on. This was pleasing, and he couldn't help himself when he cracked a messy, sudden little smile, feeling a flurry of satisfaction. Her moods were infectious, highly so.

However, Soona did something that he didn't see coming. Well .. he did physically see it coming, but from her, he wasn't expecting it.

The short girl lifted, levitating off of her seat, and suddenly, his eyes were level with hers. The stunning radiance of color in her irises actually made his breath catch for a second, but she quickly diffused his surprise when he felt a very light prod on his forehead, as she exclaimed about her ability to float.

He blinked once, and then again, and suddenly, there was a tingle in his cheeks. Though Soona immediately retracted and covered her face shyly, Ulysses chuckled under his breath. God, she's adorable.

When she offered to wait up for him while he changed, he thought for a moment and shrugged his shoulders. "You can go ahead to the library if you'd like, and I'll meet you there. I imagine it'd be boring t'stand outside my room while I change .. "

His attention, right then, suddenly shifted to Bliss, whom had a pouty lip and a fire in her eyes that he recognized. His content smile faded for a second before turning into a smirk again, and as Bliss threatened him with her ass-kicking abilities, she chucked an empty honeysuckle right at his face. Reflex kicked in, and his eyes widened as his hand shot in the air, grabbing the small flower before it could hit him.

As he looked at the honeysuckle and set it down on the side of his plate, he shook his head, saying, "I've seen you do some ass-kicking before, Bliss, seriously. I'd be decimated in a battle with you." He wasn't even kidding there - that little fairy could pack a punch when she wanted to.

The boy finished off the remainder of his food and said, "Alright, I'm goin' t'change now - I'll see you both in the library, right?" His hands braced on the table and he stood himself up, looking back and forth between the two girls.

Nimah
Nimah made her way outside, Boo in tow, and immediately sheilded her eyes. She never really saw all too well in the sunlight. She carefully made her way around the sun's rays, keeping to the shadow of the giant tree, and finally rested under the shade of a willow tree. From where she was she could make out blurs of what could only be the other kids, but who they were she couldnt decipher.

Boo floated over on his dusky cloud and settled next to her, the one glowing eye in his mask trained on her, making her giggle. She saw a bug floating in the air and snatched out her hand, catching its wing in mid-flight.
"Look, Boo! Anisoptera!"
She beamed and showed off her catch. Boo had made her memorize nearly all of the names of the bugs around here, one of the reasons why he called her 'Little Insect'.

Nimah opened her hand and let the bug fly away, dancing on the ribbons of wind. Boo was abnormally quiet today. He was usually going on and on about something boring in history or something about bugs, but instead his eye was trained off and unfocused. She prodded his one solid arm and cocked her head.
"Boo! Did you see me scare Aeo and Amethyst today! Did you? Did you?"
She was excited about her accomplishment until he turned his 'head' and finally focused his glowing orb onto her, then she felt suddenly ashamed and didnt know why. She clutched the arm of her teddy bear and looked at the ground. She hated when Boo gave her that look.
"Boo, What did-"
"Insect, Do you ever wonder why the kids shy away from you so?"
She didnt. She brought her knees to her chest and waited for him to scold her. Again.
"You must remember that they are different from you and I, little Bug. You cannot scare them or they will simply run away from you like a nightmare."
"But you're a boogeyman, Boo! They dont run away from you!"
"Because I do not scare them and create monsters from shadows like you did. I was there when you scared Aeo. He did not favor your little joke much, did he?"
She bowed her head and wished she could dissapear, but the Boogeyman would easily find her. He had eyes everywhere.
"Yes, Boo..."
She sighed and picked at the ground, before noticing a scuttle bug and picked up gently by its back, balancing the little creature in her hand. Coleoptera, she thought, Beetle.
"After our lesson, you will go and apologize to Aeo for your joke. Do you understand, Little Insect?"
She nodded and crossed her arms, and listened to Boo talk for the remainder of her lesson.

Hadlee
Hadlee gave a tiny smile torward Amethyst as she settled into her seat. She liked her, the way she dressed, and had always wanted to be closer to the Wisp, but she was afraid she might go away, too.

She had her old, dusty copy of Catcher in the Rye and Diem floating lazily above her head when a bucket of water landed on Amethyst, no doubt caused by Kreskes. The Trickster always picked on the ones who made the most trouble, or the ones he knew would get a reaction from. It was no fun catching prey if it didnt run from you, right? She guessed that was the Mentor's threory behind his victims.

She picked at the seat she was sitting on and watched as Aeo dried her silver hair. She had such pretty long hair. Hadlee looked at her lap as she rubbed a finger against the scars on her wrists, suddenly more self-concious than usual. She wished she wasnt so scarred, wish those nasty people didnt cut off her long, flowing hair and left it a hacked mess. She wanted to be as beautiful as Amethyst.

She let out a small sigh, the airflow disrupting Diem's flight, making him fly away and into an air vent. He would be back later, he always came back.

She listened as Kreskes started the lesson, and it seemed they would do some skill-building today. That sounded like something you did with partners, and that made her scared. She didnt want to have to face anybody, they would probably see her and be scared of all her scars. She swallowed and looked over again at Amethyst. If she didnt approach the fire girl now, she would never.

She buttscooched over to the Silver-haired girl and tapped her shoulder, giving a small wave in greeting. She blushed suddenly, her few seconds of courage gone. What if she blew it? What if she turned around and screamed, scared of the girl with horns and so many scars? Hadlee's heart started to beat, and she strunk backwards. She wanted to be friends with the Whisp, not scare her away.

Momoko
Ears drooping and tail dragging on the floor, Momo wandered randomly throughout the orphanage.

"Nya...nya...nya nya nya nya NYAAAAA..!" Momo wailed as she buried her face in her hands. "Momo-nya, you are a nyancompoop," she insulted herself countless times, regretting what she had done. "...and...and nyow Atlas-nya will hate Momo-nya! And Momo-nya won't have any bunnya ears to play with!" She hit herself on the forehead and tugged at her hair, picking up speed as she flitted through the halls.
"Momo-nya is a---!" Thunk.
Momo had bumped into something, or
someone. Glancing up from her woeful state, she realized that she had made her way to the Lessons Corridor. More specifically; in front of Kreskes' classroom. But perhaps before she realized that, she noticed a familiar pair of pointy teeth.

"Jake-nya..?" Momo whimpered, salt water suddenly flooding her tear ducts. She wiped them off with a long white sleeve, but to no avail, because the tears would not halt their parade down her flushed cheeks.
"Momo-nya...*sniffle*..Momo was bad."

Soona
Soona brought her sleeves back down, away from her face. "O-oh..well of course! We'll be on our way, then. See you soon, U-Ulysses." Soona tried hard not to sound too nervous, wary of the fact that her actions could potentially scare her new friends away.
"Let's go, Blissful!" she said with a warm smile.

Floating out of the dining hall, Soona calculated how long she could spend in the library.
"I've got class in one human hour, which roughly gives me 3 in Moon Sprite time. Wow...W-wait! Will I be able to stay interesting for that long?!" Soona's face contorted into a nervous scowl as she 'moon-walked' into the library.
"What if I tell a joke that's not funny..? What if I mess up their hair?! What if--huh..?" Her face reverted back to a curious pout when she saw a familiar red scarf and cloudy figure.

"Ehhh? So it wasn't just my imagination..?"

In one of the many open corners of the orphanage, where sunlight shown down on the forest floor there was only a single person enjoying the peace and quiet of the tranquil forest. He was a bit larger then many of the kids in the orphanage, where many of its occupants were younger but he was comfortable enough that it seemed he belonged here or at least knew the place well.

Both of the snakes coming out from his back were lazing around, one laying completely across the grass with one eye lazily opened and the other resting against his shoulders seemingly asleep. In the boy hands was a book, a novel actually and he was reading quietly.

While he had the body of a man by human years he would be nothing more then a boy, no older then 14 years old. He was not usually so out in the open but he wanted to enjoy a nice day and for the moment relaxed himself in plain view. His name was Pollux and while he had been at the orphanage for over a year few knew him very well. He kept to himself, but today perhaps that would change. Even though he was unaware of it at the time.

Citlali found himself amongst a larger population of the black and yellow stripes and was yelling at all of them, demanding to know where Atlas was. The only response he got was a constant buzzing from each individual insect and when he whacked one out of frustration, there was trouble to be had. The alien's eyes grew wide as the insects began to swarm and he knew that now it was high time to retreat. He turned heel and ran as quickly as his legs would carry him, jabbering on his native language all the way into a corner of the forest. Citlali hid behind a tree before realizing that the buzzing had ceased. It seemed that the black and yellow stripes had given up the chase awhile back. He walked out from his hiding place, determined to continue his search for Atlas. However, the young alien instead stumbled across one of the older children that resided at the home. He was tall had had tentacle beasts coming out from his back. One was on his shoulders and the other was laying across the ground. Citlali was suddenly overcome by shyness when he saw that the older one was reading, but the shyness dissipated rather quickly. He walked over to the tentacle beast that was laying on the grass with one eye open and crouched down to get a better look at it. It looked sleepy, which in the alien's book meant he could poke it in the head. He did just that a few times before looking at the older one with curiosity. Would he react to the poking of the tentacle beast, or would he ignore it? It was hard to tell if the beast was part of him or a mere parasite.

Lin looked down at the egg when he jumped up on to the seat beside Kira. She had not formally meet the egg yet, she simply only knew his name; mostly because Kira mentioned him to her, Lazuli was it's name. Lin looked back to her breakfast, she took a small bite of her bread, chewed and swallowed. Glancing back over to the egg, Lin smiled. "Well hello there Lazuli, I am Lin." She really did admire the egg though, it was cute yet mysterious.

When Mati had called out Pegasus Time, Cupid started to spiral in happiness. Cupid loved Pegasus Time, even though sometimes they did topple, but they always made it. "Woot! Pegasus Time." Cupid jumped into the air, causing his wings to magically appear. "All aboard!" Cupid grabbed Mati by the arms, making airplane noises all the way towards Miss Esme's room.

So far they made it down the hall, then it started to go down hill. Cupid was still a baby, so he couldn't hold Mati up for too long. "Mayday! Were going down. Capn she can't withstand so much pressure!" Cupid and Mati both ended up tumbling into Miss Esme's room. "We made it! Safe!" Cupid started to giggle, looking back at his buddy Mati.

Jake had been dragging along in the corridors, tried to stifle the yawns that escaped him anyway, and made his way to the Lessons Corridor. Because of his exhaustion, he was not really feeling like cramming himself into a classroom to learn new things today at all. All he really wanted was to turn around and head back to his room and crawl onto his bed and make himself into a blanket burrito. But he knew that Kreskes would not take his lazy behavior into a kind notion, and if he completely skipped the Yehl's class the Fae-Ghoul just knew it he would regret it, one way or another.

Just as he was few steps away from Kreskes' classroom door, a blur of white rounded the corner and smacked against him with force enough to make the half-breed boy stagger back in surprise. It turned out to be no other than the Neko girl Momo, her short length stopping between his abdomen and chest. She was looking up to him with her ruby red eyes in equal surprise, both of them staring at each other their lips shaped into an O for a second, until all of a sudden her eyes started glistening and her lower lip trembled. Jake stiffened, his eyebrows lifting up, not quite sure what to do with the crying kitten. She was trying to wipe her tears away into her long sleeve, but they just kept coming -- and if he would not do something about it, she would go into hysterics.

"Woah, Momo, Momo, Momo..." Jake whispered hurriedly, crouching down to get to her eye level and rubbed her arms in order to try to make her calm down. The tawny eyes were filled with brotherly worry, and mind already going through different faces, trying to come into conclusion who was the cause of these tears that he should punch in the face. "What is it? What happened, Kitten?"

She felt a gentle tap on her shoulder. Looking around she saw Hadlee waving at her and she waved back smiling. Hadlee was blushing and Amethyst can tell that she's nervous so she began to speak "Yes, Hadlee? Do you need anything?" she asked politely, looking at the girl with curious eyes.

She's quite intrigued by how amazing this girl is. She has horns for monster's sake! She always admires monsters with horns. She loves how their horns vary from small to big, curled to straight. For her it's not an appendages but a statement. It always fascinates her, unlike the fire on top of her crown that just dances around due to emotions.

She then noticed the scars Hadlee had and frowned. Carefully taking her hands into hers and examining her scars she smiled "Oh my Mons! You have so many battle scars!" she exclaimed happily. For Amethyst, scars are not signs of pain and bad memories, but signs of every hardships and battles you survived that made you who you are today.

"You must be a warrior to survive so many battles!" she exclaimed "Here, you can sit here!" she said, patting the empty chair beside her. "Oh and can you be my partner for this skill-building activity?" she whispered shyly "I know we haven't talked before but I want to be friends with you. But of course if you don't want to that's fine... hahaha" she nervously laughed, wishing that the ram would say yes to her offer.

Momo's tears had begun to wet her clothing now, as Jake's kind hands graced her arms. It was plain to see that the Fae-Ghoul wanted her to calm down, but unfortunately it didn't work out that way. Momo's speech had become interrupted by high-pitched gasps for air; which made her sentences even harder to understand than usual.

"M-Momo hic was with Atlas-nya hic b-but then hic and then Versie-ny--HIC Versie-nya came and called Atlas-nya yummy hic and hic Momo thinks this means that th-that that HIC Versie-nya's gonna eat Atlas-nya a-a-and she's gonnya s-steal him from Momo b-but hic Momo was upset and Momo ran away from hic Atlas-nya and nyow Atlas-nya's gonnya... gonnya hic HATE MOMO!! And it's all Momo's fault HIC..!" She let it all out at once, in one huge monologue that was only slightly decipherable.
Slowly calming down, Momo let out a series of whimpers and a few more tears, then looked up to Jake for his reaction.

The little egg rotated in delight, and squealed in a manner, attempting to communicate with and greet Lin despite being incapable of speech. The unhatched being was glad to make new friends with the bigger, taller fox, almost feeling as if it was one with them even before hatching.

It jumped onto the table, before tilting itself towards some plain bread. The bread was stuck onto its shell. Slowly and gradually, this bread grew smaller in size before disappearing from sight.

Kira was delighted with the fact that her two friends were getting along well. She turned back to her plate and picked up her half eaten bread, munching on it once more. She heard a sound come from beside her and looking in that direction, she saw that Lazuli had climbed, or rather, jumped onto the table. She watched as the egg began to eat, fascinated with how it did so. She wondered how it even ate. Did eggs have a mouth? She didn't come from an egg so she wouldn't know. Even if she did, she doubt she would remember. Honestly, she didn't know much about her own birth. She didn't even know who her parents were. Her grandmother never told her anything concrete and she had always been alright with that as long as she had her grandmother with her.

She looked to Lin and decided to ask the older her question considering how she often asked the taller fox whenever she was curious or uncertain about a certain topic, "Ne, Lin, do eggs have a mouth?"" She asked, her eyes filled with curiosity as her gaze shifted from the fox then to the egg who had finished the bread in an ever so mysterious way.

Would he react to the poking of the tentacle beast, or would he ignore it? It was hard to tell if the beast was part of him or a mere parasite.

The hydra head looked at at Citlali in mild annoyance but seemed to be a bit to into lazily sunning himself to bring himself to move. Pollux wasn't looking at the kid, seeming content to read his book but if you looked closely it seemed he was faintly smiling as he read. The hydra heads shared sight with their owner so he was well aware of the child, had smelled him long before he entered the clearing but ignored him for now or at least pretended to. Believing he would pass eventually. However he wasn't expecting the reaction of his heads. They reacted with his moods but also were capable of independent action, especially when he was calm and peaceful like this. The one hanging off his neck opened its eyes and suddenly moved forward till it was almost eye to eye with the kid, its snake eyes staring into the small ones. The one of the ground picked himself up slightly as well, interested it what its companion was doing. The hydra head flicked its tongue to take his scent and bumped his head into his shoulder playfully, much like an animal might do when it wanted attention. Pollux decided to ignore it for now, reading expecting his heads to control themselves if they he wasent agitated,

Jake had been trying out for the soothing voice in order to calm the kid down, but unfortunately it seemed to have the opposite effect. Maybe it was because they knew each other so well that Momo felt it was alright to lose it in front of him and let him see her as an emotional wreck, even though Jake was sure she as a ten year old did not actually think that deep into it. To her probably, Jake was familiar and safe, so it was fine to show her true emotions that she clamped up in front of other people, like orphaned kids with harsh backgrounds tended to do. So right after Jake asking what was wrong, it was like someone had opened the faucet behind Momo's eyes. Or more like a dam would have been broken, letting it all flood out.

She broke into hysterics on the spot, startling Jake a bit. Momo started going on, trying to explain what was wrong with a huge hiccup and quivering voice, all the while seeming to jump around vaguely in her story that had not much context in the begin with, just trying to get it out of her chest in one huge word vomit. It was all very hard to understand and keep up, and her voice just rose octave by octave the further she went until the little girl was basically screaming the words in her emotional agony, which made Jake cringe his head away like a turtle trying to withdraw into its shell as it left his sensitive ears ringing from this close up. But the sixteen year old youngblood was made of tougher stuff than that, deciding that he was not going to be scared by a crying girl, even though female tears did make him feel huge levels of anxiety. His brain simply kicked into a mode where he wished he knew what was the problem, so he could go out there to dick it in the face. Unfortunately, the female tears were not most of the time solved with a simple violent outburst, because girls were far more complex creatures than that. All those emotions, man. Compared to girls, Jake felt like his emotional scale was about the size of a tea spoon.

When Momo was done explaining (if you could really call it that), she whimpered in a way that made the half-breed's heart wrench inside his chest and let few more fat tears roll down her still childlike round cheeks. This whole time, Jake had been rubbing the Neko's arms in a soothing manner, and he had managed to pick out some parts of what she had said. Something about Atlas and Versie, Atlas being delicious and Versie eating him (he was not quite sure how to feel about this), and Momo's conclusion of Atlas now hating her guts. Jake could not really think of Atlas hating anyone, to be completely honest. Maybe dislike, but not hate; it was such a strong word, and Jake had always seen his roommate more mature and being above something petty like that. Atlas simply seemed more like the kind of guy who would decide not to waste his time and energy in such a negative feeling.

"Momo, Kitten, I'm sure Versie wouldn't eat Atlas..." Jake said when Momo had calmed down, but the way he said it sounded like he was starting to second-guess his own statement towards the end, leaving the doubt hanging heavily in the air as he considered the possibility for a second, his eyebrows crunching together into a frown. However, he hurried to add; "I mean, uh, obviously she wouldn't. That's ludicrous. And Esme would kick her scaly a-- butt for it," Jake managed to switch his wording just in time, as he had a bad case of a potty mouth, but he always made a point to try and avoid swearing in front of Momo and the other younger kids, "And you gotta give the guy more credit, Peach. Atlas wouldn't hate you. You're far too cute for it, aight?"

Of course, his opinion was completely biased and he was not even ashamed of admitting it to himself. Jake reached to poke Momo's nose, a somewhat gentle crooked smile pulling the right corner of his mouth higher than the other, and he looked almost like a normal boy when he smiled like that, the sharp set of teeth hidden behind the closed lips. But the fluttering see-through Fae wings on his back kind of ruined the image either way.
