upid thought for a second about Mati's proposal. He never thought about ever riding on Mati before. Cupid thought that his head would be to heavy and Mati would fall down. Cupid didn't want to hurt his best buddy. Then again if he refused, that would hurt Mati's feelings...which was even worse. Cupid
sucked his bottom lip in. "Let's do it!" Cupid lightly hopped on Mati's back.

So far so good, Mati didn't buckle under Cupid's weight, Thank God. "Wow this is different...we should call this Love Gallop...yeah Love Gallop!" Cupid had a big smile on his face now. They had Pegasus Time and now they had Love Gallop. While Cupid was on Mati, he could hear voices coming from the library.
Cupid hopped off of Mati. "I think the big kids might be in here. Let's see." Cupid waved Mati towards the room. He slipped into the door, running behind a bookshelf. There was Aeo, Atlas, Versie and that creepy guy Jake. "Wow what do you think they are up to Mati?" Cupid had his eyes glued to the big kids, he wondered what they were doing.

"People are scary in the most fascinating ways.."
A small distant sound of chatter bounced along the walls of the orphanage, leaving each a trail of laughter that lead their ways to the girl's ears. She was currently sitting in a small dusty corner with her dried flower in hand, it's purple shriveled petals dainty and frail in her pale fingers. The girl twirled the gnarled stem between her thumb and index finger, making each turn slow and delicate as she balanced it with her slender fingers.

Ena was her name, a name that perhaps suited her a bit too well; Simple and tiny, with a hint of a playful undertone. She was a girl of quiet manners that stuck to her own guns, but she was also one to be easily manipulated to the hands of wrong-doers. Some of the young pranksters in the orphanage often tricked her into doing their dirty little deeds, thus resulting Ena in tears and getting a short scolding from the caretakers. This was why she was sulking in the corner in the first place, but then again, it was a spot the children often spotted her in; if they could spot her at all.

Ena breathed a sigh of tiresome, thoughts bouncing around her head as the flower she twirled between slender fingers placed a calming effect on her nerves. She had narrowly escaped another trick by one of the children, hiding away in her familiar dusty corner and minding her own. Ena knew very well that she would get in quite the trouble if the caretakers noticed her absence and went looking for her, but her docile demeanor would accept each scolding and bare each consequence with a flood of tears. She was always like this, shy and timid like a fawn, ever since arriving at the foot of the strange orphanage. She...didn't quite click in with the other kids, others thinking it was odd of her to like the solitude and speak not a peep, while others found her easy to be around. Ena made a select handful of friends and people she trusted, and thus created her own little spot in her new home.

The chatter had now seemed to shimmer away, echoing laughter retreating to the rooms as lessons began to take place, Ena slowly peeking around the edge of the wall to make sure things were clear. With a graceful push, she stood from the corner and stepped around the wall with a few cautious steps. Her soft footsteps were like the steps of a mouse, skittering across the ground soundlessly and quickly. Ena rounded another wall and made way for the library, another place she liked to keep quiet in and hide. She was also quite fond of the books it held, getting lost in their vast stories of adventures or tales of woe. They intrigued her about the human nature, spreading her interest in people in general; How funny she was practically scared of everyone.

Ena pushed through the door almost inaudibly, wincing at the rusty creak the hinges made when the door closed. She didn't look up at any of the others, and made a beeline to the biography section; This was where she spent most her time in the library. After a bit of wandering, she found another clear dusty corner and made do, settling into the crack and heaving an ancient book into her small lap, turning the cover and giving a small cough as dust particles floated and swirled into the air. She placed her pointer finger under the first word, and began to read.

Hadlee smiled at the Hydra before clutching her book to her chest, getting up, and hugging him in a farewell. The little ram gave the Hydra a kiss on the cheek before throwing away her leftovers, and heading to the library. Diem popped out from one of the airshafts and buzzed a greeting before perching onto her horn as she walked.

Little kids and larger kids bounced around the hallways, though the Caretakers were nowhere to be found. Though they usually had an interesting habit of appearing whenever you didnt want them to. Hadlee smiled at the thought of the Caretakers. They took her in, everybody in, when they didnt have anywhere else to go. When the world shunned them and turned their backs on them. This was where the creatures of the earth could join and become something else from human society.

The large, oak doors of the library came into view, and the smell of old leather and ink wafted to her nose. It was probably the best smell in the world. Exhaling, Hadlee walked in with her little Firefly partner, Diem, and her mother's copy of Catcher In The Rye, looking around for a quiet spot to read.

To her surprise, Hadlee caught sight of a little girl with a horn located at the center of her forehead. The little Ram humanoid cocked her head. She doesnt remember seeing another horned creature. She looked young, and clad in white.

Hadlee looked at her sides before walking over to the girl, her book clutched to her chest, Diem buzzing warnings around her ears. She shook him away, biting her lip as she grew closer. The girl seemed engrossed in her book, and Hadlee had no other way of saying hello. Swallowing the lump in her throat, Hadlee got as close as she would dare and tapped the girl on her shoulder, waving hello with the best smile she could muster, despite her growing fear. The scars on her wrists, back, and neck usually burned with anxiety, but this time, they seemed to lie dormant. She had long white hair, more paler than Amethysts, and pretty silver eyes. When she tapped her shoulder, she took a tentative few steps back, making sure not to frighten the girl away.

"Tentative to the touch, a girl with a mighty blush."
Page after page, Ena grew very intrigued in the biography in which she held, one about the man who once governed the... states? Yes, the states, the places humans lived. Governed by a man who went by the name of George Washington. Ena found it very amusing that he had white hair much like her own, but even more so that he had false teeth. She gave a small smile as she read on about the man's life, and frowns at the struggles he faced. Yes, odd it may be for a girl her age to be engrossed in a biography, but to her it was merely fascinating.

She didn't remember when she'd placed her dried purple flower in her snowy white hair, but it was a habit she has grown so used to, she does it almost without thought. Her long wavy hair cascaded down her pale face, covering half of it as she bent over the book, legs crossed as a dress of blue covered her legs. Ena didn't even notice the other horned female approaching her, didn't realize she was looking, no, watching. But as the girl neared even closer, Ena's silvery blue eyes flicked up and widened in shock as she softly touched her shoulder. A soft breath of surprise passed between her parted lips, a sound almost like a squeal escaping quietly into the air. Ena instantly brought the book to cover her face, standing it up on her lap as she peeked over the edge with caution.

It wasn't even necessarily that the girl had a scary appearance. In fact, she had a rather soft and kind one in terms of Ena. It was a rather nice thought knowing this newfound acquaintence also had horns, almost calming in reference to her flower. She had eyes the color of red rubies, and short choppy hair that fell carelessly around. Soft features in her face, and looked to be of no sort of threat. Timidly, Ena lowered her book and took a gulp, brushing away a lock of wavy white hair away from her pale face. "....I...I can move if I'm in your w-way.."

Hadlee smiled at the girl and shook her head 'no' in response. The little Ram humanoid sat next to the girl, hoping she wasnt being too evasive, and blinked at her. Taking a piece of charchoal and paper that had been lying around, she wrote her name on it. Having stopped talking after she had been captured by the Hydras, she had needed to learn to read and write.

Hadlee scrawled her name in neat letters, and showed it to the girl. She cocked her head and thought for a moment before taking the charchaol and drawing a quick sketch for the girl. It looked proffesional, her mother always drawing and including Hadlee. The little Ram smiled at the thought of her mother before handing the paper to the little Uni, a big smile on her face. Diem, her Firefly, dancing around her head, flickering his bulb.

She bit her lip, clutching her book to her chest, the wrinkled leather crunching comfortingly against her chest, her ruby eyes looking at her own silver-blue ones. She loved the girls hair. It was white like snow, and it must be just as soft. She wanted to braid it, just like Amethysts, but she wouldnt dare try and do that, not when she just met the little Uni.

"Shy away, Shy away, the girl with a timid stance."
Ena blinked in mere shock, a pink making it's way to the surface of her pale doll-like cheeks. The other didn't wish to be rid of her. This was different to Ena, a taste not yet tasted, a thought not yet discovered. With a curious glance, Ena scooted over so the other could sit beside her, still clutching the book to her face. Her eyes were trained on the girl's movements, each breath she drew and let out in high detail, each blink of those ruby eyes catching her attention. It was all so fascinating, the girl's hand gripping gently onto a piece of dry charcoal and paper, swiveling to form words. No, a name. Hadlee. Ena cocked her head, her wavy white hair moving to one side as she moved the book away from her pale face. "H-Hadlee, mm?" She whispered, realizing the girl did not wish to speak. After a few moments of indecisive thought, Ena bit her bottom lip and blurted out, "Ena." It came out in a quick rush, a breathy air, dancing in the dust particles and falling askew. Quick and simple, a name that reflected her and all her being. Silver eyes bright, they flickered down to the paper again as the girl, no, Hadlee, began to draw.

It seemed to be of a short sketch, but the skill was evident as she finished up. It was a picture of her and a dancing Firefly twirling around her head and horns, a smile shining on the girl's features. Ena giggled, loving the drawing quite a bit, and picked up the black stick of charcoal and pressed it against the paper. The stick rubbed off on her almost paper-white fingers, a black dust skittered across the skin as she began to draw, not as skillful as Hadlee had shown, but something of a childish play. Ena scooted the paper back over when done, showing her. It was a doodle of a flower, a small stick figure dancing at the stem.

Hadlee smiled even brighter, reaching out and taking the paper. The drawing was beautiful, and she looked at the girl, Ena, and hugged the paper to her chest, careful not to crinkle the masterpiece. With great care, she folded the chalky paper and put it in her book. Along the course of her life, her mother stashed all sorts of treasures in this very copy, until the say she died. Hadlee had kept the book hidden, losing her mothers secrets and treasures in the midst of the chaos.

Setting the book aside, Diem took off into the air vents, as usual. Hadlee reached out and took one of the girl's soft locks into her index and thumb, smiling. The girl had such pretty hair, and it cascaded around a pearlescent horn on her forehead. It seemed to be made of crystal, catching the light and throwing it around the room in all sorts of directions. It was absolutely stunning.

The little Ram swallowed and looked at the book she was reading. It was about some man with fake teeth and something about a cherry tree. She had no idea what that meant, but the thought intriqued her. What did a cherry tree look like? Was it possible to have fake teeth? In her throat, she unconciously rubbed at the pink scars on her wrist, looking at the book in wonder.

Realizing she spaced out, she jumped back to attention, pointing at the book curiously.

Citlali
Citlali watched as Atlas passed out fruit to the weird one called Momo and his bed mate. He watched the interactions between the two before he finally got what he wanted, some grapes, and even an extra apple. The alien began to snack on the smaller fruit but was interrupted when he heard someone shout. He turned his head to look at the source of the voice, finding that it was one of the most terrifying weird ones in the entire orphanage. Citlali was able to get out of the way of her tackle and duck behind Atlas at the expense of Jake, who was soon reduced to a prone state. He kept a grip on Atlas's jacket as he watched the situation unfold. The alien was ready to crawl up the older male's back, but before he could a smoke animal made its way into the library and did something to the terrifying one. He protested softly when Atlas went to the terrifying creature's aid and instead moved further back from the others. Citlali barely noticed Momo's exit and was ready to make an exit of his own, but he wasn't sure of where to go. He looked at Kreses as he was spoken to by a floating being and opted to stand closer to the teacher as the situation unfolded. Jake looked like he was out for the count and if the terrifying one tried to attack him, the little alien would...well...he'd chuck the apple or something.

The pace of Soona's breathing heightened as the memories of the moon came back all at once. It felt as if there would be no way to escape her past. That horrible feeling that no one cared about her kept creeping up on her and her mind froze. She felt cold, alone, and forgotten.
Suddenly, a set of lanky, strong arms enveloped her, and a soothing voice approached her ear. This was the first time Soona had ever been...held like that. Immediately a warmth spread throughout her body that was so foreign to her, but it felt as if it should be familiar. This sort of feeling—Soona couldn't put a name to it—but it made her want to hold the one who gave her this feeling, and when Ulysses slightly retracted his arms, Soona's grasp was left tugging at his sweater.
He asked if she was okay, but she didn't know why. Did something happen? Did she do something? Clearly the moon sprite had entirely forgotten her mental breakdown a few moments ago, entranced by this new experience.

"Ulysses? Can you hold me more often?" she asked, gazing at the huldrekarl with hope-filled eyes.

Ulysses, as he gazed at Soona, blinked suddenly. She seemed .. well, she seemed to have recovered very quickly from her state of breaking down. Was - did he do that, or was something up? She seemed confused at his words, as if she had just entirely abandoned any memory of what had happened. About ten seconds ago. Though bewildering, he started to get caught up again, just staring as she just stared at him. Waiting for a response, something, anything from her.

But boy, what suddenly came out of the moon sprite's mouth, words like bells to his ears, was the last thing he expected her to say to him.

"Ulysses? Can you hold me more often?"

He was taken aback - not in a bad way, just deeply shocked. Did - did she just - ask him to hold her more? Wow, was it that easy to gain permission? She seemed to have recovered entirely then, and he realized that it was .. because he held her there for that brief amount of time. He felt his heart melt a little. The pink in his cheeks unknowingly became more flushed, to a redder shade, and the purple in his eyes sparkled.

He couldn't help himself. A messy, stupid little grin came to him. Dear gods, he was eating all this up. Any excuse to give more physical affection was like hitting treasure. He noticed that Soona was still gripping onto the soft fabric of his sweater. Was this permission to hug her again? Because he could totally go for hugging her again. He felt so oddly happy, little butterflies fluttering in his stomach, and he honestly just couldn't take the warmth of his face egging him on to pull her back into an embrace again.

The Huldrekarl finally gave in, disregarding if she meant it was okay to pull her in again. He'd find out. He moved forward and pulled her back into another warm, much fuller and less cautious hug, feeling his confidence making a return. "Y-yeah," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. His tone was filled with a sort-of subtle gratitude - it was very heartfelt, in any case. Damn, she's cute. The attachment was spreading faster now, much faster.

He didn't realize he had done it till he was on the ground - the Hulderkarl had sunk down until he was sitting criss-cross again, and he positioned Soona well enough that she'd be comfortable, somewhat on his lap. She was so light, it was unbelievable. He had no idea if he was crossing the line here, and he hoped she'd say something if he was. The smile on his face was so giddy and messy, he felt stupid wearing it on his lips.

" .. If you want me to stop, just .. let me know." Her scent was practically all around now, and her light, bouncy presence was comforting. He had said that as a 'just in case' kind-of deal, as he wouldn't want to make her uncomfortable. But she had cracked through the starting guard wall now, and he had melted to become the lovey-dovey kid he was behind it.

Soona let out a squeak as Ulysses pulled her back into his grasp. She wasn't expecting such a quick response to her request, but this wasn't too bad either. Just now had Soona realized how strong Ulysses was, and his powerful grip made her feel... safe. She wrapped her arms around his neck and closed her eyes, his scent finding its way to her nose and making a home there. As far as Soona was concerned, it could stay there forever. She was delighted to find that the contact between their skin gave her a completely new tingly feeling, and she welcomed it as well. This whole experience was giving her a squishy feeling in her stomach which she had never felt before. The touch of this person gave only wonderful feelings, where back on the moon all the contact she received only bore holes in her heart.

Soona wanted to curl up and die in Ulysses' arms, because frankly--she didn't know if there was anything better than this. Every beat and skip of his heart--every inhale and exhale he took--they all belonged to Soona in this one moment. A whole fifteen years--31 in moon sprite years--and no one had informed Soona of how powerful one's touch could be. But it made Soona wonder... Surely not just anyone could make her feel this way? Not every touch--not every breath--... so what was it about Ulysses that made her tick? His dark hair? His sparkling eyes? No... It wasn't anything on the outside. The answer to Soona's question resided on the inside. Not just in Ulysses, but in Soona as well. Their hearts beat like clockwork, and their minds chugged on in harmony. This was called compatibility, or something... Soona had read it somewhere in a book. The genre of the book...had slipped her mind; but it meant all the same.

This epiphany--this discovery--Soona wanted to share it with Ulysses, although it was one of those things; one of those things that seems to flow like a river in your mind but ceases to cooperate when put to words. This would have stopped most, but Soona was determined. She quietly cleared her throat and began to speak.

"Ulysses... You make me feel like a cup of hot chocolate!" she smiled brightly, thinking that this was a good way to put things, but she wasn't done. "The feeling--that warm feeling that you get when you take a sip--I felt it everywhere when you held me, even when you're holding me now. I can feel it, and I can feel you. I'm like the cocoa and you're the hot water! But you're not just any hot water, and I'm not just any cocoa. We're specially made for each other, and we're the only ones who can make hot chocolate quite like this! ...But I'm sorry, because you won't get to drink it as long as I will. I didn't think the long moon sprite hours would come in handy, but I'd like to drink our hot chocolate forever, so I don't think I mind anymore."
