East of Eden - John Steinbeck

Hands down. If you haven't read it. Read it. Even if you aren't into the setting/story, the characters are rich enough to keep you interested.

Th Book of Tea!

Okay maybe not so much, but Born to Run is a good story written by journalist Christopher McDougall. You don't have to be a runner to enjoy this book. It has an interesting mix of history and adventure and you come away thinking afterwards.
