Kiyoshi was on his feet. It took him only a moment so sheathe his wakizashi and grip his ancestral katana before him, gripped tightly in bosh hands. Ryoko was wheeling around on another bandit and the strangles gasps as a bandit in Bei's clutches.

This was a fight he could understand, an enemy in sight and friends at his side. He rushed forward dodging the falling bandit and avoiding the tip of another's spear brought a two-handed strike against the upstart bandit.

Tokito was alone on the track and a thought struck him. The attackers had not entered the town. SO they wanted the people to flee.... and had ambushes set up?

He froze looking around. If to run was to die, and to return was to die, and to stay here was to die that left one choice. Fast at a rabbit he ran off of the road and dived under a blump of bushescrouchinf down so that he could still see the road. Quickly and quietly checked his ninja-to. He didn't want to be unprepared if his ruse failed.

The battle was done and Kiyoshi surveyed the carnage with a satisfied look in his eyes. On a strap of cloth he carefully cleaned the blood from the blade of his katana before with the style of his caste slid in into its sheathe before walking up to Ryoko who was getting acquainted with a warhorse what had not fled the battle.

"Well lion you fought well if you were trying to bore them to death." She teased the look on her face made it clear she wasn't completely serious.

"At least I was fighting and not out stealing horses." he rebuked "Twelve bandits died by my blade."

"You call those kills? Perhaps if you weren't slowed down by so much metal...."

Kiyoshi raised his hand asking for silence. "You fought well Samurai Ryoko, it is an honor to fight beside you...." his tone changed from serious to something a little lighter, ".... we'll make a warrior of you yet." and with the out of character joke he turned away and went to check on the other members on the party.

Ryoko couldn't have been happier. All that fighting and she had come through with a great warhorse, a light one but a warhorse nonetheless as a companion. She could barely contain her happiness. A warhorse of this quality would have cost quite a handful of gold and then some. It was something she hadn't expected to come into so early in her journey. A part of her wondered where the bandits might have gotten such a fine mount but the other part didn't really care at this point. The important part was that she had a horse now.

Ryoko turned to Kiyoshi and she opened her mouth to answer his last retort only to promptly shut it and blink after him. Did he ... He had ... He just made a joke! She didn't know whether to smirk at his back or hunt him down and smack him on the back of his head. She opted for just watching him walk away. She'd deal with this new Kiyoshi later.
