[fieldbox="Koshi, white, dashed, 10"]Koshi stood there, trying to hold back the stream of terrible feelings spilling from his heart. He trembled there with his head bowed, staring at his toes- the one foot with enough bandage to make up for not wearing a sock.
And the he heard May's voice, and he looked up with red-brimmed eyes to see her standing before him, noting how she looked as if she had been sleeping.

"I'm ok, nothing happened. How are you feeling?" Koshi asked, rubbing his eyes on the back of his sleeve again. He felt more numb than anything, at this point. He had probably woken May up, and he hoped she wouldn't feel worse because of it.[/fieldbox]

May studied Koshi for a moment. The red rimmed eyes and a glistening on his cheek signaled that he had been crying. Clearly he wasn't alright and she didn't by his I'm fine for a second. "I'm better." May answered simply as her gaze moved down to the bruising littering his skin. "Koshi, I saw Red..." May trailed off and decided not to confront him on the matter. Instead she would be there for him and allow for him to open up about it.

"Come here." She murmured before gripping the corners of the blanket, before wrapping him a hug, effectively covering him with the blanket as well. "It's alright." She whispered as she slowly moved closer to the couch pulling him along. "Let's sit." May suggested before looking up at him to see if agreed or not.

[fieldbox="Koshi, white, dashed, 10"]Koshi drew in a shuddering breath, rattling in his lungs like a bird attempting to escape a cage. It was a dark, cold, and heavy thing, pooling in his lungs and undulating- perhaps it was his heart, something there was hurting. Koshi clutched his shirt just above where it was as May eased her blanket around him.

He didn't realize how cold he had been until she was suddenly hugging him. The warmth melted whatever ice holding his heart in a state of shock, and the water fled through his eyes again. This time, Koshi didn't just cry soundlessly. As he flopped down on the couch with May, he gave a weak sob, and another breath rattled in his ribs. He clutched her, and fueled by a sudden need he pulled her tightly against him, and her being a head-and-a-half shorter, she could probably hear the wounded thing in his chest, beating like a funeral drum.

"I'm s-sorry." He choked out, knowing he was being a cry-baby again. "I just... feel really dumb." He trailed off.

"Red somehow s-saw it earlier... You know. I guess h-he just... didn't understand what kind of reaction a human m-might have, s-so he... I guess he wanted to see if I was ok... I denied having anything on my neck, but Red h-hates being m-made into a fool, you know? So he g-grabbed me..."

Koshi's eyes widened, and he realized something important. Perhaps it was unintentional, but this was the first time a misunderstanding between humans and Andera had become physical. Koshi didn't want to think about it right now though. He didn't want to worry about what Shia might do, or anything like that. Right now, he just needed May.[/fieldbox]

May's eyes widened in surprise when Koshi suddenly began to sob and he pulled her tightly to his chest. Immediately reacting, May tightened her hold on him and she could hear the rapid heart beat. This kills May, every time she sees him like this, knowing that he's in pain. She would give everything in the world to keep him happy.

"Hey..." May called out softly, before leaning back to stare into his eyes. "You're not dumb and I'm sure what happened between you and Red was just a misunderstanding. I'm also sure he didn't mean to cause you any harm." She murmured, her tone soft while using her thumb to gently wipe away to tears cascading down his cheeks. She wrapped her arms around his neck, while her left palm rested against his head and she pulled him closer to her. She was sure this wouldn't affect their friendship with the Andera-or at least she hoped it didn't. Hopefully he came around soon, so they could talk things over. "Just relax." She cooed, her fingers gently weaving through his hair before she lightly rocked them from side to side. "Breath in and slowly let it out."

[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="Koshi, white, dashed, 10"]Koshi was soothed by her words, just like always. His trembling halted as May pulled apart to meet his watery-grey gaze, and her fingers collected the tears from his cheeks with gentle motions. Koshi gave nod, and when her hands began moving through his hair, he sighed and moved into her touches, bringing them closer together. They were a ying-and-yang, together, she held his head above the water and he tried to do all he could to smile for her sometimes. Their friendship was something he could always rely on, and when she was cruelly separated from him, it was no wonder why he had succumbed to the unnamed and unacknowledged part of himself that had placed the noose around his neck.

He shuddered and drew in a breath...

And released it after a moment.

"It w-was all m-my fault..." Koshi realized that the decisions he made towards himself tended to be bad ones.

This went on for a time until Koshi finally had spilled enough tears to feel more drained than sad. Just in case, Koshi took one more deep breath, feeling funny in his lungs, than pulled away. His eyes were still red, but the tears weren't coming anymore, and he gave May a sincere smile. "Thank you, for being here for me." He said, eyes shining and a blush spreading across his cheeks..

Koshi paused, then decided the next best thing to do was to ask, "Wanna watch T.V.?"[/fieldbox]

Minutes passed by and May continued to rock them slightly, trying to calm Koshi down and it seemed to work, because a moment later he leaned back. "Don't worry so much over it, Koshi. I'm sure Red will come back at some point." May reassured and she hoped her words were true. If the Andera didn't come back then May would go out and personally find him and bring him to sort things out, especially if it would help Koshi.

At his thank you, the warm smile blossomed on her lips while she looked up at Koshi. Gosh, how she loved to be around him. "I know I've said this several times, but I mean it. I'll always be here for you no matter what." Those words were sort of a vow to her. A vow that she would make sure to keep with her for the rest of her life. There was no clue as to what their future would behold, but May would do everything in her power to be by his side.

"Sure." A nod passed, before she snuggled closer to Koshi and moved the blanket to cover her up to her shoulders, though not before reaching for the remote and pressing the on button. The screen flashed before cartoons presented themselves on the tv. Chuckling lightly, she changed the channel, before deciding to hand over the control to Koshi.
[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="Koshi, white, dashed, 10"]Hearing May say that, he reached over and hugged an arm around her shoulders, then decided to leave it there. He smiled as she chuckled- the encounter with Red having been pushed a bit further to the back of his mind where he could only every fifteen minutes or so catch a glimpse at it, sniffle, look down at May, and then forget it again.
She was right, Andera weren't the type to experience long-term feelings of anger, and Koshi was sure that they would see him again.

He took the remote from May, held it for a few minutes, unsure of what to change the channel to. Then, he decided it would be a idea to check the News. "I wonder what they'll make the weather be like tomorrow..." He wondered out loud, and changed the channel.

A light grey-yellow lady Andera behind a desk began to immediately speak in a rushed, worried voice. Koshi found himself intrigued by the uncommon sound of an Andera half-concealing what he assumed was fright.

"- Andera, who discovered and unveiled a plot meant to have been concealed for only a few more weeks. This Andera had worked on the project, called Project Hivemind, for over 280 years, and was a trusted programmer and idea-transfer specialist. It is my duty to make it clear what this plot is, no matter the consequences... The project had been started to create a Utopian society, by uploading a virus into out mainframe, intending to inspire docile and mindless behavior and reduce creative thinking capacity. The government denies the Andera's claim, however given the fact that such a thing has not been seen for thousands of years, the community is taking this very seriously.
However, one has to wonder if such a thing would not be for the better... Do we really want to end up like the humans? Is a blissful ignorance truly that terrible? Riots have already broken out along the main roads, and thus, dear public, I say to you- embrace the Hivemind, if it does indeed exist. Violence, despicable violence has not existed here for a millennium, and now there are riots? What is our society coming to!? Embrace Hivemind, and remain truthful to our protectors- the Council! They will ensure out safety, Hivemind might jsut be the right way to go about it!"

"Wh... What?" By then, Koshi had gone rigid and was staring at the T.V. with an expression of utter disbelief. Riots...? Here, and not on Earth? Secret government plan? What was going on? He turned to look at May with wide eyes.[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="May, green, dashed, 10"]
May's gaze remained glued to the screen as Koshi changed it to the news channel and it seemed he chose the right time to change it, because the Andera reporter was revealing what the Council has been doing. Hivemind? Riots? This was all just unnatural, since this has always been a docile planet, no such things have ever occurred before. A flashback of her dream played through her mind and May couldn't help but to shiver at the remembrance.

"This isn't right..." She murmured as she looked over to Koshi. The Andera didn't deserve to be controlled that way. She wouldn't have liked it. "Do you think it's real?" Surely it had to be, since riots were breaking out. What were those even like among the Andera. The human riots weren't that good to look at, especially watching the outcome. That was always the worst thing to see. Did the Andera react a similar way?
Have their friends even heard about the news? Do they agree with Hivemind or are they against it?

[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="Koshi, white, dashed, 10"]Koshi starred blankly at the screen as it began to play a video of the 'riots.'

Andera stood group outside of government buildings yelling, protesting. "But, that's not a riot." Koshi said matter-of-factly. He looked over at May and said, "Hivemind? The Andera don't usually go out in public to tell lies... I don't know. This is all so sudden..." He said, and shivered. "For years and years the Andera had been peaceful. Why ruin that now, and without any actual proof that Hivemind exists?"

The camera returned to the reported, who immediately changed the subject much to Koshi's disappointment. His heart clenched in his chest again, and a new worry appeared to haunt him- Hivemind. If it was real, it was something terrifying. What wold happen to May and him, if the world suddenly changed like that? Koshi looked down at her, and imagined them being separated again, and put in small, white cells. His arm subconsciously clutched her tighter.

"Let's watch something else..." He said, and handed her the remote.[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="May, green, dashed, 10"]
Koshi was right, that wasn't a riot when compared to the videos she had seen of humans rioting. This was more of a protest, yt she was still perplexed about the whole thing. Given that the Andera were peaceful and violence was a big no-no, inculding situations like this one.

"I understand why they would be 'rioting' like that." May murmured. She wouldn't liked to be made into some mindless individual with no control over my emotions or the ability to make her own decisions based on what she felt. "But I agree, they should have never rioted if they don't know whether it's true or not."

Soon the reporting appeared back on the screen, giving the news about something else. Taking the remote from Koshi, May pressed the button and some reality TV show came on the screen. Soon, May began to surf through the channels trying find something interesting to watch, yet her mind couldn't focus on the big screen in front of her. Hivemind kept resurfacing in her thoughts. "Do you Levy and the rest have heard about it?" May questioned quietly as she looked up at Koshi.
[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="Koshi, white, dashed, 10"]Koshi watched the flashing screen with a strange expression. His eyes were stone-cold and mistrusting because, somehow, he was convinced that something was very wrong here.

"I don't think we know the whole story. Andera don't just... do that."

Koshi watched the channel change, then glanced down at May. "I don't know... I just hope that they didn't go join the riot. Red would have, probably..." He trailed off, eyes going somewhere to the left. Remembering Red brought made his chest feel like someone was grinding a cheese-grater against his heart. Somehow, guilt welled there as well, and Koshi wanted it to go away.

He wanted that more than anything. More than he had wanted a fish grill.

Maybe a walk would help clear his head. He drew away from May, surprise at how strange the loss of contact felt. He stretched his arms over his head and yawned, before muttering, "I... I'm going to go for a walk, alright? I need some air." Koshi explained.

He stood up and went to get his jacket, a thin thing with fur along the hood that made him feel a little bit like a lion when it was on his head. Koshi zipped it up to his chin, covering the bruises that his busted collar could no longer hide, then he stepped up to the door to get his shoes on. His actions became quicker, shakier, sloppier- he was rushing, not even bothering to hear May's response before he fled the house, eyes starting straight ahead, concentrating on nothing.

Koshi was the kind of person that often found themselves staring at the sky as they walked. It was already night, but he wasn't sure exactly what time it was. Judging by his inability to keep his gaze focused, and the way his neck felt tired from only a few seconds of looking up, it must have been pretty late. The stars were a blurry mess overhead.

His legs swiftly carried him down the street. Andera parted before him as he were Moses commanding water.
None of them wanted to interrupt his walk, both because of their inherent kindness, but also because the way Koshi looked- half-alive and somehow defeated. He had stopped staring at the sky a long time ago, and was now concentrating on maneuvering around the Andera walking beside him, trying not to get caught on their edges and plates. He wasn't to sure where he was going, and his head wasn't clearing either. If anything, it was slowly filling up with thoughts again. Red, his neck, his foot, his heart- all of it made no sense to him somehow, and he felt lost and on the verge of something terrible.

Colors pooled around him, dazzling him. Koshi looked up when the reds and pinks became a lime green, and he was confused when he noticed that he had walked all the was to Club Limelight.

Well, he was already here... He might as well.
Koshi crossed the street and looked up at the neon sign for a second, wondering why he was doing this to himself again. "Greetings, welcome to..." He walked past her and was already inside. The Andera trailed off behind him, as Koshi was in no mood to hear anything like a greeting.

[fieldbox="May, green, dashed, 10"]
A frown settled onto May's lips and she hoped that Red didn't join that riot, because who knows what the consequences were for participating. Surely it wasn't something good since the Council was pro-peace and that riot was the opposite of their beliefs. Koshi abruptly pulled away from their little nest on the couch and May immediately felt the warmth vanish. Why did he get up? She found herself yearning for his warmth and embrace. Slowly rising to her feet, May watched in alarm as he hastily placed his jacket on then his shoes. Where was he going?

"Koshi whe-" May never got to finish her question and flinched when the door closed behind him. The brunette just stood there blinking at the closed door, the coldness enveloping her body and loneliness creeping up her spine. The sudden abruptness of his departure brought a pang to her chest and she wondered whether she had done something wrong. Was it because of the riot? May's lip quivered and tears formed in her eyes. She never liked being left alone like that without a notice, it felt as if he was just leaving her behind. Retreating back to her room with the blanket in her hands, May discarded it on the bed and took a seat at the edge. The fact that her room felt empty, since she hadn't unpacked her things, didn't help. It just reminded her that she was by herself. He's going to come back. A tiny voice spoke out in her mind.

Suddenly she realized something. What if he got hurt? What if he went out to intentionally hurt himself again? May fished out her phone from her pants, hands trembling as she quickly unlocked it and dialed Koshi's number. She rose from her seat and went to put her shoes on with her free hand, while the other held the phone besides her ear. "C'mon Koshi, answer..." She murmured before walking out of her room and down the hallway into the living room. Pulling the door open, she rushed down onto he sidewalk and glanced around. Which way must he have gone? Deciding to go left, May's eyes darted around, hoping to find his smaller figure in the mass of metal. The Andera glanced her way, but otherwise let her be. Each second that passed, her anxiety grew.
[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="Koshi, white, dashed, 10"]Koshi sat at the bar, his head ducked so that his hair covered his face. One hand rested on an empty whiskey glass, the other held his phone. It was buzzing violently. He saw May's number, and chocked on a sob. By this point, Koshi had consumed enough alcohol to put a Russian to shame, and it was kicking in and doing a hell of a job on his mind.
At least, for a time, he had been somewhat at peace.

The bartender, despite being instructed not to get involved in the human's drinking habits, leaned over and asked, "Are you alright sir? I would recommend that you stop drinking..."

Koshi ignored the Andera, and flipped open his phone. He began typing a text: "hey m at club limlig-" and then gave up when he realized it: everything would get worse, everything. He couldn't text her. He hoped she wouldn't find him. Maybe she would go home, and draw. The sketch of him with his neck came back to his mind, and Koshi felt his brain fill up with static. He stood up abruptly, knocking over his stool, and he stumbled to the door past the flocks of dancing, chattering Andera. Some looked at him, gave him curious stares. Some took a step back so that he wouldn't trip over them.

The flashing lights around him made the task of finding the door incredibly difficult, but the drunk boy somehow managed. "Shit..." He stumbled outside, then attempted to collect himself into something more coherent. May.

He had left May alone. Panic blossomed like a flower in his chest. How long had it been...? He glanced at this phone. Two hours.

"Sh...it..." He slurred, pocketed the mobile, and began walking in what he assumed was the direction of their home.

"Selfish... selfish." He repeated to himself, like it was a mantra. "I just... left her alone, and to do this..." He said to the sky, then tripped and smashed his face into something really hard. "F*ck." He pushed away from it, hands up and fingers fanning out defensively to whatever, or whoever he had smashed his nose into. Koshi felt something run down his chin, and when he touched his sore nose, his hand came away bloody.

He looked up, and realized he was looking at the back of a large Andera. Koshi stumbled backwards, and a scene unfolded before him:

There was a mass of Andera, all crowded together in the street. They were shouting, but Koshi couldn't understand what they were saying. One stood taller than all, standing on some kind of elevated stage. A large, pale blue Andera. The one from the store. January, Koshi's drunk mind somehow managed to recall the strange encounter.

Military Andera stood stiffly like statues before him, one of them called, "You can't change anything anyway, so sto-"

A pale blue fist connected with the face-plates of on of the heavy-set, black-green Military Andera. Koshi could see little bits fly off of its face as the Andera stumbled backwards. Then there was shouting. The mass first inverted- the Andera stumbled away from the stage in shock, and then rebounded as they rushed at the Military, howling with rage. They looked and sounded like a documentary Koshi had seen about wolves, flanking the army with mouths parted, heavy limbs lolling then lifting, and then crashing back down.

He pivoted on his heel and ran- fled the scene after having witnessed the terrible crime. Koshi wasn't even sure why- nothing registered in his mind, he couldn't make the connections yet.
Not when he had freed himself of sobriety.
[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="May, green, dashed, 10"]
It was no surprise that Koshi didn't answer her first call, but the other several calls she made, were ignored as well. Weaving her way through the crowd, May's pace picked up each time the line went to voice mail. By the time she put her phone in her pocket, May was running down the side walk, tears threatening to fall from her eyes. This couldn't be happening. Why didn't she just rush after him the second he closed that door?

Feeling her thighs burn, May came to a stop at a corner, her hands resting above her knees as she fought to catch her breath, it was then that she felt tears cascade down her cheeks. If anything bad happened to Koshi, then it would surely be her fault for not stopping him when she had the chance. Deciding to keep moving, May rushed down the side walk and rounded the corner only to come to an abrupt halt. The sight before her was shocking and she never thought that she would actual witness this firsthand. Several Andera were shouting and the military Andera were trying to convince the others to stop this madness, only they didn't stop. It got worse. The Andera began to fight-physically. Images of human's rioting flashed in her sight and she didn't register the fact that her feet were running until she felt a pain at her side. She had accidentally crashed into an Andera. "Sorry, sorry!" May apologized as her hands shot up in a sort of surrendering type of way, before she took off again.

Her heart was beating so fast, she felt that it would just beat out of her chest. The fear was settling into her mind and May blindly ran. This day just took a couple one-eighty turn for the worst. Koshi was missing and the Andera were rioting. Where was Shia? Did anybody even know what was going on? She felt so small and vulnerable around the huge stature of the Andera, making her fear increase. It was becoming hard to breathe and everything felt like it was closing around her. For someone who loved to be surrounded by people, it was a surprise that she was afraid of it right now-maybe it had to do with Koshi's disappearance and worry on whether he was alright or not, that nightmare, and the riot.
[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="Koshi, white, dashed, 10"]They sounded like cars repeatedly crashing into each other when they fought, realized Koshi.

He had moved away from the riot at this point, heading away in some random direction again, holding his bleeding nose shut with his hand. He wasnt sure what to do about it. It didn't hurt- he only felt numb.

Why did he do it again? Koshi didn't know. Perhaps ths was being human. That didn't make any sense. Nothing made any sense.

May, he realized. He reached into his pocked for his phone with his free hand. He would call her, just to tell her that everything was ok.

"May...?" He asked, not sure if he was still hearing the dial tone, or if she had already answered.
[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="May, green, dashed, 10"]
May rushed into an alley way and leaned against the wall of a building before slowly sliding down, until she was sitting. Her breathing ws shallow and she was trying to not pay attention to the panic she felt. Fortunately enough, she was distracted by a vibration in her back pocket. Her fingers fumbled with her phone and she nearly dropped it, before she placed it against her ear, answering the call. "H-hello? Koshi?" The second she heard Koshi's voice on the other side, she relief come but quickly vanish. "Koshi, tell me. Where are you? I'll go and find you. Please just tell me where you are." May begged as she rose to her feet.

Oh god... She felt like she was going to be sick. Forcing herself to ignore it, she focused on the phone call.
[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="Koshi, white, dashed, 10"]She sounded so afraid, so panicked...

Koshi stumbled for a few moments, and released his hold on his nose in order to not sound nasally when he answered her. When he did so, blood gushed out and he swore, but was to drunk to realize he should be looking up in order to stop it.

"No..." Koshi slurred, "Jus... Just go home." He said, "I'm fine..." He looked up again, finding that his eyes had to adjust to the darkness. Cars whizzed by him to the left, so he reflexively stepped closer to the right, and discovered that there was a railing there. He glanced over it out of curiousity- a bright expanse of highway roared beneath him, trams and cars whizzed by so fast they kicked up a wind that blew his hair out of his eyes. It felt good since he was feeling pretty warm, so Koshi unzipped his jacket as well. Immediately, his hand went to touch his neck, smudging blood across the bruises.

"May." He said, simply. Then he peeked his head over the edge, watching a few droplets from his nose drip down to the highway, looking like rubies mid-air. "I can't fathom... why you need me at all."

Koshi suddenly heard the sound of a car pulling up behind him, and was happy with ignoring it until suddenly, he heard shrill voice calling, "Koshi~! Hello honey! I'm taking you home, come on, get in. It's not safe here with the riots going on!" Oh God, it was Shia. He didn't turn around, pretending that he hadn't heard her. A car door slammed behind him.[/fieldbox]

When Koshi spoke to her again, May noticed how different he sounded and her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "No, Koshi. Just tell me where you are!" As silence stretched on the other end of the line, May caught the sound of the background noise and her stomach knotted in worry. Just where was he?

"Why would you say that Koshi?" May questioned as she began to walk through the crowd again, hoping to find Koshi. "You mean the world to me. Please Koshi...don't do this." Suddenly she heard a faint high pitched voice on the other side. "Is that Shia? Koshi?" May questioned as she weaves her way through the crowd.

[fieldbox="Koshi, white, dashed, 10"]Koshi's brows furrowed in confusion. "Oh, don't say that... I don't deserve it."

He chuckled at something, feeling a bit loopy.
"Hehe... Yeah, she always knows what going on, right? I hate that." He trailed off, staring at the streetlamps beneath him. "May, you know... You mean the world to me too." His feet shifted away from the light below, and he said nothing more, because he like the sound of the city around him. Something made him smile, but he wasn't even sure what- and then someone grabbed him.

"Huh...?" He felt his phone get wrenched out of his hand, heard the beep of it being turned off, and then his other hand was grabbed and twisted behind his back. "Ow. Hey, what's...?" Click. Something was secured around his wrists, and he was led to the car. He was shoved in unceremoniously, and Koshi realized that the person responsible for him being manhandled was whoever was the driver.

Shia turned around in her seat to look at him. "I can't believe you! Again? Really? Do you know what you're doing to May?" She sounded angry. Koshi curled in on himself, pressing his forehead against the seat in front of him. "... Fine, it's your business. I wish I could help you, but I see I can't. My hands are tied, you know? I want you to live like a normal human, so I can't keep you safe at home..."

The lurched into motion, and the world spun around Koshi. He tightly shut his eyes and scrunched his nose, disgusted as he felt the half-dried blood caked under his nose follow the movement. "I'm sorry about the grabbing, and the handcuffs, but I didn't know what to expect. You were standing in a really... dangerous position." Shia sighed.

"Moving to the second human's position." The driver said, and his headgear beeped. "She should be right around the corner."[/fieldbox]

May listened to Koshi through the line, her eyebrows furrowing as he laughed. He had clearly had too much to drink with the way he was acting and talking. May realized that he would probably be in trouble with Shia. "Koshi do-" Her voice was cut off when the call suddenly ended.

She stared down at her mobile device, before she put it away. He had confirmed that Shia was there, though her worry didn't seem to lessen. May had wanted to find Koshi first and maybe help him before Shia showed up.

Suddenly a car pulled up besides her and May noticed Shia in the passenger seat and a figure in the back-Koshi. Immediately the girl rushed to the car and slid inside, her gaze never leaving the boy besides her.

."Koshi, are you alright? What happened?" May questioned frantically as her hands hovered over him, contemplating on how to help him. She leaned down and her eyes widened when she saw blood under his nose. Her hand gently gripped the sides of his face and she cautiously turned him to face her. "How did this happen?" Her voice had come out in a whisper as she examined him.
