you find yourself sitting in a dimly lit chamber, the room smells of rich herbal incense, you look around you, whilst the room you are in is dimly lit and seems rather unremarkable, the individuals who sit with you are a particularly spectacular group, it seems that members of many of the Forces of the Imperium have gathered here, though their reasons for being here vary, for some, this is a career boosting moment, for others, it is their penance for past failures, for all however, the inquisitorial summons was both unexpected and of dire importance.

Thus, through differing ways and from vastly different backgrounds, you have arrived in the chambers of the Inquisitor Eli Van Yastobaal, who is revealed at the head of the table as the lights brighten, the Inquisitor looks to each of you, his gaze bearing an air of noble stoicism and grim determination.

Basically ladies and gents, this is my attempt at getting a Dark Heresy Roleplay Going.

In essence, Dark Heresy is the Warhammer 40k pen and paper roleplaying system, rather like dungeons and dragons.


Initially those who step up and assume the mantle of Inquisitorial Acolyte will, with the help of your fellow acolytes, become the inquisitor's eyes and ears, delving deep into mysteries and unravelling conspiracies, whilst this will entail combat, it is to be assumed that the bulk of your work will be done in secrecy and with some measure of stealth.

Not for you are the Massive titans, the armored fist of the imperial guard tanks or the brute strength of the Space Marines, you are skilled Soliders, Tech-Preists, assasins, Adepts and perhaps even gangers.


(I think we'll start with the shattered hope campaign first off)

Background
Born on the backwater world of Calistra, Vailon Crayborne hailed from a family of miners who were sorely disappointed by his initial birth defects. He lacked the robust physique of his hardworking brothers, and was set for an early demise as his father deemed to sacrifice the child to the machine-spirits of the mining shafts. But Vailon was spared by his mother and raised in shunned isolation from the rest of his brothers. Vailon spent long years using his wits and treachery to get his share of rations, and when he came of age he escaped apprenticeship in the engine houses by volunteering for the Adeptus Arbites. The initial training almost killed him, but through painful resolution he kept himself in shape, and whatever rites of initation he could not pass he schemed his way around. He hid behind the larger Arbitrators in firefights; he ratted out his friends for heresy; he even had his own parents executed for hoarding food. Nothing stood in his way on his ascent through the ranks of the Adeptus Arbites. And by the time Senior Arbitrator Kae Drusil visited Calistra in search of "promising agents", he found Vailon nestled at the heart of the Calistra Courthouse, with a finger in every pie and intimate knowledge of the Governor's household. Eventually, Kae Drusil invited Vailon to join the newly formed Divisio Immoralis, a body formed by Lord Marshall Goreman to investigate heresy throughout the Calixis Sector. Vailon leapt at the opportunity to escape his homeworld, and ever since he has continued in his insidious nature, taking almost perverse delight in rooting out the enemies of the Imperium.
