Dreamland is a very vast place... with new areas opening up all the time. The queen of dreamland fell into a deep sleep long ago... leaving the task of keeping dreamland safe from nightmares up to a few dreamers, known as the Alices.

History: She has a few problems with relationships in her life such as her family, love, and friends... which is why she uses the dream world to escape reality. She is quite well known in dreamland since she has made many friends there. She works quite hard to fight off nightmares, which is why they only chase after her more. You know... to eliminate her.
Personality: She's quite calm, gentle, and caring... but changes dramatically from sweet to incredibly cold when someone she cares about is hurt or being hurt. She can be merciless.
Likes: She likes nature quite a bit and enjoys exploring dream land and making new allies.
Dislikes: She really dislikes the nightmare entities, unless they are the really harmless or clutzy ones... those are fine. She also dislikes any suspicious characters lurking in dreamland... even if they aren't nightmares.
Other: She has some trouble making friends with other Alices since some feel the need to compete... since well... there is a rumor that one of the Alices will be picked to become a new king or queen. She doesn't really care to become that... but other Alices give her trouble sometimes anyways. ^_^'[/fieldbox]

Personality: She is just one sassy sue. She will throw sarcastic remarks at your face and not give a shizzle in the process. But she's also very wise and caring. :3
History: In dreamland, she was a part of an experiment... there was one other pikachu that was in this experiment named Blaze, who was her love. Tragically the experiment went wrong and he died and she escaped in the process. After that she lived to serve the queen, but once the queen fell into a deep slumber... She went out to find an Alice and help that Alice... in this case, Penelope.
Likes: She likes running in fields of flowers. Flowers are totally her thing. Which is funny since she also likes fighting nightmares with the Alices. She's sweet and sour all at once!
Dislikes: Don't ever mention Blaze. We don't talk about it. *death glare*
Name: Hanson
Age: Unknown but looks about mid 20s.
Appearance: I couldn't find a picture but he wears some kind of navy blue uniform and has pale purple and green hair and has blue eyes. He's quite tall too.
Gender: Male
Personality: Calm and collected with an extreme need to protect any Alice. He mostly hangs around Penelope since she was the first to step into dream land... and she was the first Alice he made an Alliance with. Aaand he might think of Penelope more than as just a friend... but he won't ever admit to it though. Stubborn...
History: He's fought by Penelope since she was 6 years old but made a sudden disappearance a few years later. She was pretty heart broken about it, but little did she know he was watching her from the sidelines and making sure she was alright... and now he's back! :D Well in a different form. Long story short he was before known as Haku and wore traditional japanese clothes and had long black hair, usually tied in a ponytail. But the more he hung around Penelope, the more nightmares came... so he thought it would be safer for her if he wasn't around. So he just left... without warning. But now years later he has come back for his own reasons. :P
Name: Finnick, or Fin in the Dreamworld.
Age: 18
Appearance:
He wears an eye patch over his left eye, and glasses because he's near-sighted.
Personality: Finnick is generally a bright, happy, and very naive person.
History: Finnick's mother is an influential businesswoman who spends most of her time out of the country. His dad left when Finnick was very young.
When he was little, Finnick's cat suddenly attacked him, and clawed out his right eye. This event left him traumatized and vulnerable to Zachary. This later also developed into a fear of going insane, as when he was 10, he discovered his father was admitted to an insane asylum, and has been there for years.
His friends were his remedy to the fear, and, unfortunately for Zachary, Finnick's anxieties no longer plague him.
Likes: Nice people, Zachary, candy, etc.
Dislikes: Cats, his injury, and when people walk on his right side, being called One-Eye/Cyclops by people, and being the only one who can see Zachary in the real world.
Sexuality: Pansezzual.
Name: Zachary
Age: Unknown.
Appearance: Black, short hair, and a Cheshire-cat mask.
Personality: Zachary is unpredictable. He is built up of contrasts - friendly and kind overall, but fierce and merciless in battle. When focused or worried he may seem a bit distant. Back when Finnick became an Alice, Zachary pretty much turned into his shadow. The former nightmare follows his old possessee everywhere in the dreamworld, and the two have become quite inseparable. Most people don't really like former nightmares, and Finnick was the only person who accepted him.
Zachary's backpack is incredibly precious to him, and he will never let anyone touch it. Not even Finnick.
History: Zachary is a former Nightmare. When Finnick stopped being scared of him, and Halloween Town got boring, he started riding the train. Riding it everywhere, sometimes all day. Until one day, when Finnick showed up...
Likes: Cats, being crafty, his sword.
Dislikes: The White Rabbit, with a burning passion. However due to the fact that all members of the White Rabbit's Court wear masks, he does not know what he looks like. He also hates when Finnick leaves the dream world. So sometimes, he follows him...
Sexuality: Unknown.
Name: Jasper
Age: Unknown. Many, many years. Looks to be an older teen.
Appearance:
Jasper wears a white T-shirt, and black pants rolled up to his knees. Jasper has pointy teeth, sharp, black claws, a long, black tail, and pointy elf-like ears. His hair is black, and messy, and his eyes are blue with slit pupils.
Jasper is usually seen completely barefoot, and he carries a sword.
History: Jasper arrived at the Dreamworld with no recollection of how he got there, or who he was.
His purpose, however, became clear to him quickly. The Squire, recognizing the boy's power, gave him a single task. Find a black-haired girl named Akuma, and kill her. On his journey, he became known as a notorious Bounty Hunter, accepting other people's contracts, and never admitting to himself that he is an assassin.
Personality: Jasper just doesn't care. It's hard for him to die, so he adopted a sort of kamikaze lifestyle. Binge eat, kill, jump off a building. In his head, he can do anything he wants. Years upon years of life like this toughened his skin, however, he's surprisingly sensitive and empathetic. And lonely.
Likes: Fighting, high places, sleeping on floors, dogs, orange juice, being sassy.
Dislikes: Mean/rude people, crowds, small spaces, broccoli, chihuahuas.
Name: Nathaniel Urth
Dream world name: Mikhel Anton

Appearance:
Personality: He is very outgoing usually, but when it comes to romance, he's a little shy. Like, he knows how to handle the ladies and guys (If you know what I mean), but he's a little less... himself. Oh, and also he's a HUGE nerd when it comes to science in the dream world.
History: He is an Energy Alice, with the power to somewhat mimic his enemies Alice power. He has knowledge of different "wavelengths" of energy (i.e.: Water is low frequency, fire and lightning is high) and can bend them ALMOST to his will. He has physical limits, (No, he's not fat) he gets VERY tired from bending wavelengths.
Likes: Training battles, drinking, experiments, FOOD.
Dislikes: Assholes, murderers.
Sexuality: Bi-sexual.[/fieldbox]
[fieldbox="Types of Characters:, White, solid, 10"]These are the types of characters in dreamland that are allowed.
There isn't a limit to characters. Characters can look however, act however, have whatever abilities they want, and some other things as well... AS LONG AS EVERYTHING STILL STICKS WITH THE STORY/RULES OF DREAMLAND YOU SHOULD BE FINE.
I'll go into more detail about the aspects of each category of characters.
[fieldbox="Dreamers, White, dashed, 10"]Dreamers don't have any special abilities like Alices do. They can't control their dreams easily unless they are good at lucid dreaming. And usually if one is good at lucid dreaming, they will be offered a chance to become an Alice. Most dreamers take the offer (mostly because they don't know about the consequences or don't care... or just think 'meh, it's just a dream, right?'). Most dreamers are quite weak against nightmares and tend to fall prey to them. Of course if they aren't good with lucid dreaming then the nightmares aren't that 'visual' either. So they don't need to worry about seeing horrible imagery as much as Alices do. There are times that dreamers CAN control the outcomes of dreams. But its rare. If your character is a dreamer, do not abuse that power. If you want to have more powers in dreams then consider being an Alice instead. I'll consider any characters that are dreamers but use this power often as Mary Sues. And well... Mary Sues are banned from this roleplay. So please, don't try to make a character that has little to no weaknesses because that's just a bit of an annoyance for the rest of the roleplayers here.[/fieldbox]
[fieldbox="Alices, Plum, dashed, 10"]Alices are special dreamers that each have a special elemental ability. For example, my Alice character Penelope has the ability of electricity. Alices CAN have an affinity to another element but the affinity is always not as strong as their original elemental power. They ARE able to get the other element stronger, but never as strong as their original element. Penelope has an affinity to water, and she can use that to her advantage in battles because of her electricity power. Using both together can be quite useful. If you have an Alice don't add too many affinities to them. Alices NEVER start out with two elementals. Just like Penelope, they have to get their other element somehow. Penelope got her affinity to water in the WATER GARDEN area. There, she wished upon a rare blue flower that can grant wishes. A mark from the flower is permanently engraved on her skin and that is what gives her the power to use the water element as well.
It's common for Alices to either friend each other or want to fight and murder each other. Depends on the character. Shiro is one character I recently introduced his a more murderous Alice (She has a good reason though I promise lol).
It's also common that Alices tend to find a close bond/romantic relation with some sort of dream ENTITY. Whether it be a nightmare, a former nightmare, a dream, or a neutral entity. Penelope for example has a romantic interest in the neutral entity known currently as Hanson, and he has the same attraction towards her.
Alices, despite being quite strong, do have weaknesses. Because of their ability to not only lucid dream but CROSS DREAMS with others, they are more prone to being attacked by nightmare entities and they can have LUCID NIGHTMARES which can effect an Alice's sanity level.
Alices can stay in dreamland for a long period of time but I do not recommend doing that because it makes it easier for nightmares to attack.
Too many attacks from a nightmare entity and an Alice can easily fall into a coma. It could happen to a dreamer as well but it's more rare.
The last thing about Alices is that some tend to have little guardian creatures that stick by their sides and help them along on their journey, but not all Alices have them.
Besides this, you can add more stuff about Alices to he story. I don't mind. But if you're not sure about something, just ask about it here. ^.^[/fieldbox]
[fieldbox="Dream Entities, White, dashed, 10"]Dream entities are exactly what you'd expect. Passive entities that reside in the dreamworld. Some might seem kind of hostile but they would never hurt a dreamer or Alice. Well unless they are traitors to the queen of dreamland... but that's also a rare occurrence.
They tend to want to protect/help out dreamers and Alices, as well as each other. They of course hate nightmare entities.
Dreams can have a human/animal form and dream form. Take Backfire for example who is a Pikachu. That's her dream form and then she can also turn into a human girl as well. Dreams can have a sort of... 'final form' as well. This is the most powerful form they can take on.[/fieldbox]
[fieldbox="Nightmare Entities, White, dashed, 10"]Again, this is exactly what you think. They're nightmares. Similar to dreams yet the opposite as well. They also have a human and nightmare form, as well as a final form that they can take on. Final forms take up energy though, for both dreams and nightmares.
Nightmares feed off of the fear or dreamers and Alices, which is why they tend to take the form of whatever their target fears most. But since they can only keep one form, they can only lock onto one target. Sometimes a few more than one if more than one person shares the same fear... But most of the time its just one.
There can be what is called a 'defect' or sometimes 'traitor... Which is a nightmare who actually helps dreamers and Alices. This is a rare occurence.[/fieldbox]
[fieldbox="Former Nightmares, White, dashed, 10"]Former nightmares are pretty simple. They have all the powers of a normal nightmare but they can no longer terrorize their target because either there target is gone or is no longer afraid of them. Most former nightmares tend to retire to Halloween Town but a couple still lurk around other parts of dreamland in hopes of finding a way to strike fear into the heart of their victim once more.[/fieldbox]
[fieldbox="Neutral Entities, Indigo, dashed, 10"]The final type of entity, neutral, is when an entity has both components of a nightmare and a dream. This means that they have 1 human form, two other forms (nightmare form and dream form), and then two final forms (once again nightmare and dream). They are the strongest of entities but are sought out by nightmare because, if a neutral ever CONVERTS to either a nightmare or dream then they will become VERY POWERFUL. You can see why nightmares would want them, right? It would make it easier to hunt down dreamers and Alices and get rid of them for good. Also dreams wouldn't stand a chance against them. Although... it could go the other way. They could convert to a dream entity and become an all powerful dream.
Still, they have weaknesses as well. Each weakness varies depending on the character. Make up your own weaknesses if ya want :P
But... Neutrals are rare and most of the time they stay hidden. Most don't wish to take anyones side, in other words... they prefer staying neutral. Hanson is a neutral entity and wishes to stay neutral.[/fieldbox]

These are the rules to follow when roleplaying in the IC thread for 'Alice in Dreamland'.
- Cursing is allowed. Just don't overdo it because sometimes it's just unnecessary and just too much, ya know?
- Don't pester other role players for things like an instant response to what you replied or for like a shipping of one of their characters and yours. It's just annoying dude. I mean, you can ask for a shipping, but if someone says no just take the no, man. Don't need to keep asking for it.
- No Mary Sues or God Moding please. That one should be pretty obvious lol.
- Don't decide what will happen with someone else's characters, okay? Only control the actions of your characters and yours alone.
- Of course, this doesn't mean that you should take advantage of the previous rule and make your character invincible. If someone tries to hit you, then take a hit! Don't just make your character super dodgey. That's just unfair bruh.
- Please don't argue over shit we're all friends here lol
- Lastly, please please PLEASE respond to posts with a response that is AT LEAST a paragraph long. Because it's really difficult to respond back when you write only like 1 sentence lol MEEP[/fieldbox]
