This is the utopian city of Callum. All the citizens within this city must conform to the rules set before them by the government.

Rules:
1) Specifics of different citizens jobs are not to be spoken of.
2) There are not to be relationships outside of the ones set by the government.
3) Teenagers are not to be alone together (always in a group or chaperoned).
4) Everyone must be equal. No citizen is to have any more than the other.
5) Anyone who commits murder is to be cast out.
6) Anyone to commit adultery is to be cast out.
7) Anyone who speaks, or act, against the government is to be cast out.

If any citizen breaks any of these rules they are to be cast out to the Drylands. If citizens happen to have a child and break any rules, the child shall be put into the adoption pool, but never allowed to be classified as a citizen, only a ghost. The ghost will have the lowest jobs and never be put in the breeding pool.

That is known as the Drylands. People who live there do not live under any rules. Their houses are no where as immaculate as the houses they had in Callum. Basically, the Drylands are a ghetto. There are the few cast outs who stay out of the taverns and try to farm to provide for themselves and their families.

Callum was a society meant to be perfect, and it is in the eyes of some. Other citizens have become feeling the weight of the rules they have to keep to. Many citizens have lost family members to the Drylands, or have been sent there themselves. The government has started becoming corrupt. Spies have been giving information to the cast outs. Whispers of a rebellion have been spreading through the Drylands. Even gang activity has started springing up with Callum. Somehow teenagers have found a way around the officials patrolling the streets and the surveillance in the homes. The leader of this gang has a price on him. He is not going to be cast out, he will be imprisoned.

Name: Brayden Edwards
Age: 17
Status in society: Ghost
Personality: Brayden is tough, quiet, and has somewhat of a hot head. He is ladies man and found ways around the officials. He is the leader of the gang that has started causing minor chaos within Callum. No one knows he is a ghost and from the way he acts, no one can tell.

Background: Brayden came from a parents who broke rules. They had him before they were approved to have a child. He got put into the adoptian pool and was soon adopted by Gale and Jason Edwards, a couple who could not have children of their own. His parents were model citizens, but he grew tired of that life and grew head strong against society.

Name: Arella Chester
Age: 23
Status in Society: Official
Personality: Arella is business like and comes across a bit abrasive. She takes her work seriously as overseer of citizen relationship, which means, she hides in the dark a lot watching the goings on of everyone around her. Once someone breaks her hard exterior, she is the sweetest girl ever. She does have a bit of a temper and an issue jealousy.

Background: She was raised in the household of model citizens. In school, she was top of her class and soon had the eye of the governemnt. From a youn age she was set to be an official and she couldn't be any happier.

From the discussion we had in the interest check its more of a should be utopian society but really a dystopia. I suppose it has some political aspects because of how the government has restrictions over the citizens and such. A couple other people who have shown interest have suggested adding tragedy/romance.

Totally working on a Cast Out Char ^.^ hmm...though then again, Braydens Gang seems highly appealing as well. Hmm...decisions decisions.....

Personality: Gabriel has an unstable personality at best, often jumping between his moods, some might say he is bipolar, others might say he just enjoys messing with people. Truth is, you'll never know. For the most part, he's sarcastic and well lets be honest, a bit of an ass. However, ocasionally he's known to be serious though not very often at all.

Background: Gabriel, was born into Callum as a Ghost. He never knew his parents, they'd never even bothered to try and identify themselves, no one ever told him as a youth, despite his attempts to learn. The older he became, the more he understood the way of life in Callum, which brought him the suspicion that his parents had been Government member within the "so called" perfect society. Of course this was just speculation on his part, which was just the beginning of what would become a journey that lead to being an outcast.

History: Upon then age of 18, he'd finally been released from the orphanage, he'd never been adopted, never been wanted by any. To most this was a sad thing, to Gabriel, however it was exactly what he had planned. A plan which worked well, and earned him an alias to boot "Syk" is what most people called him, due to his psychotic nature and complete lack of self-preservation. He'd been the loud mouth who'd always been introuble with one thing or another, everything small, big and inbetween. He got into it all to keep himself unwanted, so that when he was of age, he could start looking for his parents, and his plans at the time, ro find out why. <6 years later> He'd finally managed to track down his parentage, and wouldn't you know it, government official indeed. Not very high on the totem pole, but still just enough to worry with appearances, and who would want a Ghost as a claimed son? No one of worth anyways. His mother however, he could find nothing of her, he assumed she was someone lowly as well, probably killed so he could save face, the bastard. Gabrield, had become efficient in 3 things through the years. Infiltration, lieing and of course being unseen. It wasn't that he was a spy, it's just he was training himself for a deed he intended to carry out, he was going to murder his father. <4 months later> He was in the estate of one Joeseph Rogers. His "loving" father. For months he'd planned this night, every detail, every inch of this house, everything studied and thought through. He'd been in the house half a dozen times already, he knew where he ate, what room he slept in, what bathroom he used, everything. But tonight was different, tonight his father died. He'd hidden in the attic waiting until midnight, when the house was sure to be still everyone asleep. He silently made his way out of the attic, across the house to a large set of double doors, embroidered with what he could only assume to be a family crest or a symbol of his station. He knew the lock on these doors as well, had picked them multiple times to ensure things went smoothly. And they did, the soft metalic clicked of its chambers gave way, and the door swung inward without a sound. Gabrield slowly approached the mans bed, his heart beat pounding in his ears, he had a sudden urge to turn back, but he couldn't, he would not. He pressed on, one foot before the other through the moonlit room until he reached a large bed, he brushed back silk curtains which hid who slept inside. For the first time he layed eyes upon the man who birthed him, the man who left him to rotte and most likely had killed his mother as well. Removing a long curve blade from his sleeve, he gripped it and looked at the man one final time. He looked so much like him, considerably older, but still the resemblance was..well creepy honestly. And that was the final thought through his head before he placed his head over the mans mouth, and as his father woke, Gabrield, plunged the dagger up through his ribs and into his fathers heart, peircing it as he stared into his eyes so he'd know it was him. He whispered into the dieing mans ear just before the the shadows of death grasped him and took him away forever. "Goodbye...my father" <1 week later> He'd been found, how he knew not but he had been. Charged with the murder of an Official and set to be Cast Out to the Drylands. As he was escorted, well more like forced out, he made a vow to them all. One day he would see them all fall, he would see everything crumble beneath them. He didn't know how but he would. And over the next 2 years in the Drylands, he'd been making every attempt at finding a way to do just that, driven by a mad rage.

Oh, by the way. Before I forget, I was wondering. Have you decided if the RP will be freeposting or if there will be an otder everyone has to post in? I'm just curious.

Cruor, there is no order. Post at will =] It helps things flow easier, especially if someone doesn't post for several days. You could also double up and be Gabriel as well as a gang member within society. Its up to you. =]

Personality: William is not a by the books official. The rules of society are set up to be followed but at the same time to be used in a way that profits the individual reading the rule. He will do anything in his limited power to keep society working as a utopia, but in his way. He is very brash to make conclusions. William does not deal with stupidity or idiocy very well they both anger him greatly, however at most times he is contemplative and will work the rules in his way to get anything that he wants. He does not mind destroying another’s career to do so.<o:p></o:p>

Background: William was born to a family that was very normal. They were all model citizens and did the best for society. They did however teach him that if anyone is standing in the way of your goal eliminate them. That is exactly what he did in classes. [FONT=&amp]Personality: [/FONT]Savana fits into the rough mold of the hard bad a**. This comes from years in a military academy and multiple disappointments that stem from one huge problem, the government. She speaks only when deemed necessary, because she believes that actions speak a whole lot louder than words. The highest priority on her list is always to get the job done, and she won’t be afraid to take anyone down who might be unfortunate enough to be in her way. What seems like lifetimes ago use to live a sweet little girl, who loved life and her family, but that was lost under tears, death, and of course the government.

Background: She has spent years in the government's military academy to eventually be placed in the Military Police force. There she has specialized on making assaults on the outcasts or rioting civilians who have been deemed dangerous by the government. It was this job that led her to meet Brayden. With the opportunity presented to her to take down the government, she leaped at the chance and is now currently his right hand man. Savana still works for the MPF but frequently escapes their supervision to help Brayden. With her help the gang has been outfitted with weapons, maps, and MPF activity updates.

History:Early childhood was spent with a loving mother and father who served in the government's Military Police Force. However, as much as her parents loved her, they couldn't stop her from witnessing their constant fights. Most of the time these fights came from forgetfulness that came with taking the drugs the government gave them. However, she doesn't remember much else of her parents, for she was sent out to a Military Academy at the age of five.

There they mainly taught their students how to fight, take orders, and general education. At the academy Savana wanted more out of life then just being the grunt soldier, so all through school she tried her hardest academically, hoping her good grades would land her a job outside the military. But no matter what she did, her skills with combat and weapon training always succeeded over her academic performance. Although, her hand to hand combat skills did aid her in school, as other students attempted to take revenge for her constant f*** off attitude. Still at the age of 16 she crossed her fingers for luck during the career ceremony, which happened earlier than normal education systems. To her extreme disappointment she was sent out to the front lines immediately, ending her education.

From then on she was with other comrades fighting off citizens and beating down cast outs. It was here that she saw how cruel the government could really be. Savana and her team had to perform a variety of work from kidnapping citizens who broke small rules to executing a village of dangerous cast outs. Killing innocents really changes a person, and her view of the people she worked under hardened even before her first year in the MPF went by.

This hardened view turned to hatred as she was put into the gene pool at 18 and forced to take a husband. The man that she was now stuck with was also a part of the MPF. Mr. Edgewood was a bumbling idiot and a man that thankfully wasn't in her team. Constantly this man tried to crack her hard exterior, but without fail she rejected his attempts. Savana was soon taking out her frustration of her job, her husband, and especially the government, on the people she was forced to fight against.

However, one day they were sent to quell some riots up roaring in the outside districts of the city, and her and her squad was completely over whelmed. The rioters separated the team and soon she was fighting alone against a sea of angry people. She struck many people to the ground with her baton before she took to many blows herself and was overcome by the crowd. After a while she woke in a dreary place having been beaten badly and tied up. It was here, captured in a dark corner of a building that she learned of the gang that was coming to power in the city, and it was also here where she swore her allegiance to Brayden and the gang to aid them in their activities. Quickly she proved her usefulness in passing on information, weapons and other necessities.

She soon realized that she could not fight for the gang and the government at the same time. So to drop her MPF job Savana pretended to suddenly obtain severe depression along with her already developing PTSD. Her position immediately dropped from MPFO to part time secretary back at the office. Now Savana only has to work two or three hours a day and see a shrink three times a week, and is still able to provide information and weapons to the gang. Soon though Savana plans to drop off the radar permanently to work full time for Brayden and escape the life the government so graciously gave her. But for now, the gang needs her expertise and resources. So every day she works for a cause that she can truly believe in, and comes back home to her “husband” with a fake mask of sadness to hide her grin of success.

Personality: Rafael is stern and all business. Often coming off as cold and unforgiving in public, he gains a mild sense of pleasure in striking nervousness and a little fear in those around him (believing it is better to be feared than loved). He prides himself on his flawless, efficient work, and expects as much from everybody else. Where this aggressive aura melts away is when he is with family, warming up to be a loving uncle and protective older brother.<o:p></o:p>

Occupation: Rafael is a leading CPA in the government’s financial department, managing a team of twenty that oversees the distribution of government spending. As the final one to look over the numbers and give them to the distributors, he is in a deeply trust-based position, as he could choose to adjust the numbers and none would know the difference.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Background: Rafael was born to a modest family, his father working as a shoemaker and his mother a seamstress. Both his parents were very loving and supportive, always encouraging him to learn and to explore. With their support, Rafael showed a knack for math and problem solving as early as four years old. When he was seven, his sister, Amber, was conceived.

Over the next several years, Rafael was both Amber’s teacher and protector, always showing her new things and supporting her whenever she needed it. When Amber reached about six years old, Rafael’s parents began to shelter her more than they did for him, with great objection from Amber. And as much as Rafael wanted to obey his parents, he could never say no when Amber looked up at him with her big green eyes, asking to go with him when he went out to explore the city with his friends. It did not take long for Rafael’s parents to discover what he was doing, but they knew that it would be impossible to stop – Amber just meant too much to Rafael to tell her ‘no’ unless it was extremely important.

Rafael only grew more close to his sister over the years, and was even an active member in helping her decide who she did or did not hope to marry someday. But by the time Amber turned eighteen, she had fallen head over heels for a boy she was not supposed to have a relationship with. When she became pregnant, the government quickly cast her out and put her son up for adoption. It was with a tremendous amount of fighting that Rafael was able to adopt the boy, but not before his parents both committed suicide to end the pain of seeing what had happened to their children.

By now, Amber is twenty-three, and her son, whom Rafael named Aden after their father, is five. Rafael and Amber discovered a hidden, nearby place in the Drylands where they could meet every week for an hour or two, and have since made it a ritual, Rafael always bringing Aden with to see his mother. Despite the pain in not being able to be with her son, Amber has agreed that it is better to let Aden grow up in the safety of the city rather than the anarchy of the Drylands. Using his resources that come with his occupation, Rafael also brings with him additional resources for Amber to survive, ranging from food to tools.

It was not until very recently that Rafael caught wind of a possible rebellion, and has skillfully found his way to meet Brayden and a hand full of Outcasts serious about rebelling. Using his position for the advantage of the cause, Rafael has begun transferring funds from the government to both the Outcasts and Brayden’s gang, as well as leak information to them of where money is flowing and the priorities the government establishes.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Motives: After the banishment of his younger sister to the Drylands, Rafael has lost all pride for his citizenship in Callum. Now recognizing the government for the corrupted sham that it is, he has made it his purpose to end this oppressive regime, or die trying.<o:p></o:p>
