Monsters and Villians are still rising up every day and attacking the planet, but the Hero Association has stood strong throughout the years. A handful of Legendary Heroes have been cemented in legend thanks to the Hero Association and looks for fresh blood to take up the mantle of Hero and protect the City from devastation. The rank system is still in effect with Class C being the lowest and Class S being the highest.

Recently terror has been spread by an ironic and unoriginal group of villains known as the "Villain Association". Mimicking the Hero Association, they have an HQ hidden deep underground where Villains go to test and become a registered villain in the Villain Database (accessed by the deepweb). Of course, they didn't just mimic then name but ranks of the Villains that serve the organization. Lowest being C and highest being S.

You are a new Hero who had just taken and passed the test to be registered as such! You may have been a Vigilante before registering, fighting crime without any credit or perhaps you are someone who is young and naive, knowing nothing of the world of Villains.

  • Hattori Dango - Class B Rank 32
    Appearance:
    PISPjBZ.jpg

    Name: Hattori Dango ('Rolling-Sensei')
    Age: 16
    Gender: Male
    Abilities/Powers/Equipment:

Dango is technically classed as an Esper, although his psychic powers do not directly interact with the outside world - instead, it manifests throughout the family line as the genetic passing-on of minute, detailed muscle memories. In Hattori Dango's case: he has inherited martial knowledge and skill from numerous generations of master Hattori-family martial artists. He is therefore a world-class practitioner of numerous hand-to-hand and weapon based combat styles.

Dango was, however, born without the usage of his legs - the marriage of thousands of years of ingrained footwork and this disability was, admittedly, hard to combat. He has been the recipient of a state-of-the-art wheelchair, which is neurally connected to Dango - essentially, he is able to control the motions of the wheelchair without the usage of his hands. Equipped with subtly installed rocket-boosters, the chair is capable of remarkably fast movement, as well as the limited ability to leap.

He has thusly married his martial abilities with his mechanically-enhanced movement - his signature technique being rocketing forward, with his blades a flutter. The 'Iaido Accelerant'.

Common Weaponry: dual wields a pair of Chinese jian.

    Rank: Class B Rank???

Personality: An eternal optimist who treats his psychic gift of martial mastery with fascination and reverence. He is, in a word, grateful. New experiences, new teachings, and opportunities to demonstrate them are what he considers to be the cornerstone of a happy life, and a happy camper Hattori Dango is indeed. Now, with that mind, he's very adamant that he can continue experiencing these happy moments. To that end, he will stop at nothing to fulfill his duties as a hero.

As the Hero Rolling-Sensei, he is stalwart, unfettered, and straight-to-the-point. Admittedly not the most cunning individual, he approaches matters head-on, and at rocket-speed, which sometimes gets him into trouble. Still, he's fairly well-respected for his selfless and fearless forays into the unknown and the dangerous.

Socially, he can be described as a 'geek', particularly when it comes to any form of martial arts - sumo, MMA, boxing, fencing, etc. Somewhat awkward when removed from his comfort zone, his most prevalent verbal tic in such scenarios is simply saying 'Hmm...'thoughtfully, because he has nothing else left in his repertoire.

History: Born to a line of Espers, whose psychic mutation consisted of a genetic passing-on of minute muscle memory, Hattori Dango was - from the moment he was conceived - expected to be a world-class martial artist. He was, however, born deprived of the usage of his legs. Nonetheless, the synapses of his mind - constantly feeding him residual memories of martial combat - would buzz throughout his childhood, endlessly, almost annoyingly so. But, this very exacerbated instance of 'phantom-limb' was also tantalising, it enthralled the child. And so, he carried on, insisting - as a youth - to hone his martial arts nonetheless.

Hattori Dango was noted as a child who could match highly-skilled fighters without even the use of his legs. As it would happen, the Hattori family was well-connected, particularly as they had noted members within the Hero Association. A special model wheel-chair, involving a neural connection between user and chair, was designed, which not only enabled, but enhanced his martial capabilities. While he was not so terrifying an Esper, especially given that he did not have the ability to impose his influence upon the world in the same manner as, say, Tatsumaki, he had become formidable in his own right.

Such formidable prowess, however, needed release beyond simple practice within the dojos.

Joining the Hero Association seemed only reasonable.

    Aoi Otohiko - Class C Rank 97

    NAME: TV Head!! (Aoi Otohiko)
    AGE: 19
    GENDER: Male
APPEARANCE: a slim young man with a feminine face, messy black hair, and large green eyes. His Hero Uniform consists of a Television headdress - with crooked antennas and usually the SMPTE color bars over the screen - and whatever he happened to be wearing at the time. Has been seen wearing school uniforms, skirts, animal outfits, and other clothing apparel leading many to question TV's actual gender as well as his species (girl, boy, panda, Samsung?).
    RANK: Class-C
Aoi has zero noteworthy physical, or supernatural, abilities beyond (sort of~) the bare minimum althletic requirement for C-Class heroes; and even then, Aoi tires rather quickly. Intellectually, the Hero stands out among their low-ranked peers for possessing immense perception. Aoi's powers of analysis and observation were high enough that he would never have passed the Hero Exam were it not for his written portion severely outclassing the far weaker physical testing results.
This Hero's iconic (or soon to be, eventually) face-wear enables a variety of unique technical powers, the foremost being Epilepsy. By spamming multi-colored flashing lights from the screen, TV can induce foes (and unfortunate bystanders) with a wide variety of symptoms including, but not limited to: nausea, emesis, confusion, migraines, fainting, seizures, disability, and other adverse social/physiological effects.
Another technical power is TV Head's Static Shock: which, after rubbing the static electricity from the tv screen onto a hand or other object, enables him to shock others on contact. This is mildly uncomfortable for most beings, at best, though it does have stronger, more unique affects on certain entities such as crabs or computers.
Lastly is TV Head's ultimate super-special technique: Showtime!! Invigorated by the power of potential that lies in couch potatoes and their fantastical animés everywhere, he becomes coated in corporeal blue electrostatic that heightens speed, strength, endurance, and the Two other abilities - for a few minutes, and even then TV's power becomes comparable to a B+ or A- Hero at best. Not to mention Aoi becomes incredibly tired, moody, and twitchy afterward so the power Showtime!! is used ironically right before Aoi faints or just leaves.
Aoi's television headdress is a retrofitted box tv that's been hollowed, reinforced, and modified for Hero use. Alongside the ever present face-wear, TV Head carries a mahogany baseball bat and switch-knife for weaponry.
Aoi is a nervous, fearful wreck incapable of interacting with other human beings for even short amounts of time due to a deeply scarring childhood trauma... As such, he is far more comfortable in the recesses of his room, burying his self-tortured mind in television, games, and manga for untold hours into the night/day. Though Aoi would love nothing more than to escape his psychological prison so he could say "Hi" to someone or buy a sandwich from WcDonalds without developing an ulcer, he just can't. He still engages in social activities and regularly attends university lectures but hides his deep-rooted panic behind a veil of apathetic stoicism.

Aoi's persona of the hero TV Head!!, however, is a complete release from the clutches of his real self. By assuming an image of a being not himself through the Hero Disguise, Aoi is free to act however he wants. Said freedom begat his so-called cosplay as a girl, a la skirt, and fondness for smashing things with baseball bat. Even so, TV still displays Aoi's characteristic stoicism and tiredness.
The child Otohiko grew up around extravagent - and likely embellished - stories of his mother's former position as an A-Class Hero called ❤Kirei Magica❤. They would re-enact scenes from mother's alleged memory, with Otohiko sometimes playing the role of ❤Kirei Magica❤. Aoi Senior, concerned about his feminine son wearing ❤Kirei Magica❤'s outfit, tried to teach little Otohiko about his profession as an astrologist - specifically contacting extraterrestrial life. The plan was to convince Mysterious Beings from space to maybe not destroy earth, or at least he would provide inaccurate flight plans to earth in an attempt to befuddle would-be alien deathships. One day while little Otohiko was dangling from the roof to physically adjust their antenna's alignment, and his father was sending certain signals to space, they received a peculiar response - in the form of a beam of energy from space zapping the Aoi family's house, particularly the antenna and little Otohiko. Though the child doesn't remember the following events, Aoi Senior was subsequently convinced it was perfectly fine for Otohiko to play dress-up with his mother and never help father with his research again.

Aoi Otohiko's early school life was of a less than favorable situation; being teased by other children for his father's weird experiments, so-called hack of a mother, and the boy's feminine appearance. One day, a particularly devastating event occurred that forever scarred Aoi's psyche... It was so devastating, and so scarring that it gives him nightmarish seizure flashbacks to this day! Which is why he never talks or thinks about it. Or tries to...

In an attempt to vent the fury and pain from his past, Aoi one night decided to vandalize a used television store. He went in, hood-up with baseball bat at the ready, to smash some TVs. Then he proceeded to smash some of said TVs. Unbeknownst to the vandalizing Aoi, a Mysterious Being was on the prowl - a human metamorphosed into a freakish human owl hybrid, who stalked the streets at night to prey on lesser "night owls"! Aoi's commotion attracted the Mysterious Being to the TV shop wherein it attempted to eat the boy. Aoi successfully evaded the monster whereupon it shifted its focus to a distant jaywalker and devoured the person. Aoi was more grotesqued than horrified. The Monster-Owl-Human-Freak-Thing (aka, MOHFT) then set its sights on a quite obese man exiting a 24-hr oishii café. Not wanting to even hear MOHFT devour another person, Aoi sucker punched the monster with a baseball bat to the beak. MOFHT proceeded to break Aoi's arm and prepare to eat the boy, when suddenly!! The hero Commander Neko arrived and defeated the Mysterious Being with an army of cats. Apparently, the Hero had arrived in search of a phoned-in noise complaint, something about shattering glass or such, but was convinced by an extremely jittery Aoi that the monster was the vandal. Commander Neko then, upon inspecting the boy's wounds and a lack of vandalizing nature, decided Aoi should join the Hero Association - possibly under threat of being jailed otherwise...
EXTRA: Currently lives in the dusty loft of his grandmother's café in H-City; aspires to be a manga artist; and has an unofficial Hero's theme.

    Eiji Hirragi - Class C Rank 292

Currently his magical girl form burns through his stamina quickly since he isn't used to it. Currently he is able to hold his magical girl form for 30 mins. He can push for 45 mins however the strain will push him to exhaustion.
Magical girl costume - View attachment 135215 This costume gives Eiji the power, speed and agility of a class A fighter. It is virtually indestructible, but will disappear if Eiji runs out of Magical girl energy, leaving Eiji in his underpants.
magical girl weapon - View attachment 135216 This sword is called doomsday-chan (Eiji Didn't name it). This sword collects energy from Eiji's surrounding and turns it into raw fighting power. It is virtually indestructible, but will disappear if Eiji runs out of Magical girl energy.
    Rank: C (just started)

Personality: Eiji is an admirable kind of guy. He has a strong sense of justice and duty. He is the kind of guy that will concentrate in his studies and will stop a fight he happens to see. He is usually the strong silent type but has a kind side that he only shows when he thinks he's alone.

History: Eiji Hirragi was born to the Hirragi clan, yeah that Hirragi clan known for the strong line of magical girls. Eiji was born into a family that has been pushing out all star magical girls since the beginning of the hero association. Eiji wasn't supposed to get the power of the magical girl however he was born a twin and inherited a part of his sister's powers. Compared to his sister he is still a novice but he is able to transform and take control of a legendary magical girl weapon known as Doomsday-chan (he didn't name it) As a young boy Eiji thought it was cool to be a hero but once he told people he was made fun of. He promised to himself then and there that he would be a hero without transforming into a magical girl.

For the rest of his school days he lied to everyone, even his family saying that the power just disappeared one day. His sister is the only one that knows the truth. His twin sister has been an established hero since she was 12. Eiji has been attending an aikido Dojo in his neighborhood since he was 9. He has become a black belt and continues his training to this day. He has recently passed the hero exam and is currently awaiting a rank and a name.

Extra: Although Eiji does keep his magical girl power a secret it does manifest on it's own it subtle ways. Eiji will suddenly get glitter in his hair or smell like fresh strawberries.

    Akiko Akiyama - Class B Rank 43

    "Bang."

    Appearance

    vJMWpGu.jpg

    Name

Akiko Akiyama, otherwise known as Element Gal

    Age

    18 years old

    Gender

    Female

    Abilities / Powers / Equipment

Akiko is, essentially, a manipulator of elements, though unlike what most would expect, her powers usually cannot interfere with the outside world very effectively unless channeled with a sufficient catalyst, in Akiko's case, a gun (for the most part). Fundamentally, her powers range from manipulation of elements such as fire, ice, electricity, and various gases. However, without a catalyst, her power is generally very weak. Because her power interferes with the natural world, one could say that the natural world fights off her power in order to maintain its integrity. Thus, Akiko's efforts amount to very little when she attempts to use her power on her own, fireballs quickly dissipating, ice creations melting away, manufactured gases dissipating and being replaced by the oxygen in the air, and so on.

With her catalyst, or rather gun, in hand, Akiko is able to channel her power through it and fire whatever element she conjures up in many different forms, like fire balls, ice shards, bolts of electricity, an explosion originated from firing out a combustible gas like hydrogen and exposing it to the outside oxygen air, and so on. The gun does not actually have real bullets inside. Instead, they are generally rubber bullets. Naturally, she can adjust the magnitude of her blasts at will, and though the absolute limit of Akiko's power has yet to be tested, especially with the girl claiming that she will only grow stronger as she gets older, even without routine self-training and practice, her strongest blast on record is supposedly able to level a mountain, though she does not use that much power often at all, as the more energy she outputs, the more tired she gets, as though using her own personal energy as a human when using her power, and sometimes, it may even cause her to fall ill.

Of course, a simple gun is not the only medium able to be utilized. It is simply the most practical for Akiko, as it has a trigger, an exit, and a connection to the natural world. Generally, her power works best with other sorts of guns. If she attempts to channel her power through most other objects that are just not suitable to be catalysts, usually all that will happen is that she'll end up doing something like increasing the temperature of the object (if attempting to channel fire) if not set it on fire if the object is small enough, make it really cold (ice) if not freeze it, and so on, if she puts her hand on it. That said, this means that she can charge certain objects with her electricity manipulation as well, though she doesn't use it much, as she believes it isn't that useful, and it only will be charged, naturally, if it is a conductor which, ironically, could probably be the best simple description of her power.

Aside from her gun, she also carries a kitchen knife (because she can't actually get her hands on a combat knife) which she can engulf in flames (without melting the blade), reinforce with sharpened ice, or cover with electricity, as a sort of backup weapon should she misplace her primary weapon.

With training and over time, perhaps she can slowly hone her power so that a catalyst would not be needed, but tentatively, that might not be happening any time soon. At the moment, she is also not an exceptional shot (though not necessarily a bad one either, if only because of experience, albeit limited).

    Rank

    B Class

    Personality

Akiko possesses a sort of strange, subtle duality to her that can strike the observant as strange.

Normally, on the surface, she appears as a quiet, somewhat withdrawn girl who is generally more drawn to her phone or her video game than most other things, though most of the time she truly doesn't mean to be unfriendly; it is more out of habit than anything. She doesn't emote very much either way though, making it difficult to ascertain what she is even really thinking about most of the time. Still, though she may not look the part, she still has a deceptively big heart, considering she chose to become a hero in the first place, wanting to use her power to help others and protect them from the devious villains on the rise.

However, perhaps unbeknownst to most, while she does mostly act in the best interest of those she protects, altruism is not her primary motivation. If anything, one could see Akiko as a very selfish individual, as oftentimes part of the reason she even became a hero is so that she could gain recognition and become a household name, though hell if she would let others know how motivated for fame she truly is underneath, and has thus come to believe that she has become quite skilled at masking her true intentions. As a person who wants to be known for her heroics, Akiko will often take initiative and give her all in any given task concerning heroics, usually wanting to take all the glory for herself, even if it means biting off more than she can chew.

So thus begins her journey to discover what it might truly mean to be a hero, beginning with making meaningful connections to others for a change of pace.

    History

It can be said that Akiko, daughter of a former A-Rank Hero and Esper of a father and an ordinary mother, was born with her powers, though they did not notably manifest until she was around five years old, and even then, it wasn't until another year later that the girl realized that her power was only useful when used in conjunction with a medium. For much of her later life, Akiko was raised mostly by her mother, as her parents had divorced when she was eight, the pair having come to realize they were not happy together. Shortly afterwards, Akiko's father had subsequently disappeared under mysterious circumstances, leaving Akiko to grow up believing that he had left her because she was not good enough for him, this self-esteem issue having also originated from a lack of social skills that has prevented her from making very many friends at all in school.

Though Akiko had always admired the Hero Association (even occasionally flirting with the idea of joining when she was younger), and she had a fairly big heart to boot, one would perhaps assume that her first choice was to join, but on the contrary, she took quite a while to do so, believing the notion of becoming a hero and working alongside real, professional heroes to be a daunting thought. In fact, perhaps humorously enough, Akiko had only recently joined the Association, and even then, on a complete whim, when her mother had complained about financial issues and about how Akiko had never even considered getting a job to help the household out. Believing that the Hero's Association was her best bet, as the only special skills she possessed were her powers and she figured she may as well help people, as well as the attractive notion of people finally liking her after practically being invisible her whole life to others, she became a Hero with that, and now, spends her time juggling between being a Hero and a high school senior.

    Extra

She tends to get very hungry after using her powers extensively.

Very early in Akiko's Hero career, she used a BB gun as her medium, and by extensions, BBs to carry her power, before she quickly apprehended a petty thug who used a real gun (specifically, a revolver) and decided to use that from then on.

I'll have something up eventually. At work right now and phones suck at making CS's without serious effort. Got some ideas to mull over.

Hi hi

So I'm mulling over my character and I'm admittedly a little unclear on something; what's the stance on strong heroes, like at least Class A? Is there a limit on how many can be in that class and beyond?

Generally the higher the Class the stronger the Hero, yes. For this roleplay no one but me and Akashi are allowed S-Class Heroes for plot purposes. One person can have a Class A, Rank 2 if they would like.

Class S lowest rank is Rank 17, highest obviously being 1.

Class A lowest rank is 38

Class B lowest rank is 101

Class C lowest rank is 390

Once you hit Rank 1 in any class (Except S) you can potentially be promoted to the next class. Once promoted, you start at the bottom again of that Class. Etc.

Is this what you are asking about?

Ah, I see. I had in mind a character whose power probably would land her in lower Class A (or at least, I'd imagine so), and I just wanted to make sure if there was any sort of restriction for the class. Thanks!

though who knows, i might change the power as i go along and inadvertently depower here, we'll see

In the spirit of the show I thought i'd go a little different with my character and his powers.

Appearance: 9acaa887e9063c6a483d2e3dae52f3e5.jpg

Name: Eiji Hirragi

Age: 23 University student

Gender: M

Abilities/Powers/Equipment:
Eiji is a black belt in Aikido a martial art that specializes techniques consist of entering and turning movements that redirect the momentum of an opponent's attack, and a throw or joint lock that terminates the technique. He is trained on how to fight with a short staff, a long sword, and daggers.

Eiji's real abilities that only a few people know of.
Eiji transforms into a magical girl. He has to do some specially choreographed movements that connects him to his magical girl powers. These powers aren't limitless, once his stamina runs out his magical girl gear disappears. Once in uniform he gains increased speed, agility, strength, and the control over a magical girl weapon. Currently his magical girl form burns through his stamina quickly since he isn't used to it. Currently he is able to hold his magical girl form for 30 mins. He can push for 45 mins however the strain will push him to exhaustion.
Magical girl costume - 8c327a106e1b0bb2304bfcdb33a1bf35.jpg This costume gives Eiji the power, speed and agility of a class A fighter. It is virtually indestructible, but will disappear if Eiji runs out of Magical girl energy, leaving Eiji in his underpants.
magical girl weapon - fantasy-anime-sword-demonic-sword-sword-art.jpg This sword is called doomsday-chan (Eiji Didn't name it).

Currently it'll hold out for around 30 mins, 45 if he pushes himself. If he pushes himself he is exhausted when his power runs out.

Alright then, your character is accepted @Kurogane86

So I went ahead and ditched my first idea who I was worried might have been too powerful anyway, but yeah, here's the character I ended up going with nonetheless. Hope it's alright.

"Bang."

Just making sure, I am very much still here. Mulling over some ideas to consider, what I'll really go with, and seeing how others pan out first sort of. I'll be sure to have one obviously within this week, hopefully within the next couple days even, sooner. I know that I'll probably have them pick C or low B unless no one's all too keen to grab for the 2nd rank A, but hey, that's all up for debate now isn't it?

Of course, even if I make the CS and claim the rank, if someone else wants it more, I'll be glad to work it out. rank more or less doesn't matter for me so I could work it at any needed angle.

I'll be sure to get something down soon.
