The Hero Association was always in need of new Heroes to join and defend the city against the villains. A new group of heroes had recently been tested and hired by the Hero Association and will begin their jobs as sanctioned heroes starting the very next day. For now they have lectures they must attend and learn the rules that are set in place, how to be promoted and the various things about the Hero Association that was needed to be known.

All the test results and papers had been returned to the people that applied. Inside the packet they received would be what Class they were placed in, or if they just failed.

There were two Class B's, two Class C's and two Class S's from this months testing. The S's are what impressed the board of the Heroes Association and had high hopes for the two.

Lecture Hall 3B was the current lecture room where Hattori Dango, Aoi Otohiko, Eiji Hirragi, and Akiko Akiyama were all present in said class. The two unknown S class heroes were being talked to privately by the board of the Heroes Association.

"Listen up. I'm Class A hero, Saiju. The pamphlets I passed out to you all describe the rules set in place for the Heroes Association and the guidelines of what being a hero is. All the C Class students with me today will have to reach a quota of good, heroic deeds around the cities and report them back here to the Heroes Association every week. This includes saving cats from trees, walking an elder across the road, and so on." Saiju waved his hand to the students, not caring for the Lecture.

"Will there be any questions on any of this?"

Eiji Hirragi

Eiji was starring at the paper in front of him, he had aced the written and passed the physical portion of the exam. He was screaming inside thinking about how he did it, he was able to pass the exam using his own skill. As he was celebrating quietly he smelt it, strawberries. "Shit" he said under his breath. Eiji quickly pulled out a small bottle of cologne and put some on his neck. He then, with a red face, pulled out a pencil with a strawberry eraser. 'This is so embarrassing I'm a hero now, I can't keep having to pretend to really like fragrant erasers. I don't even lime syrawberries.'

As the Rank A hero spoke Eiji was sure to follow along with the pamphlet. He saw the amount of heroics he would need to complete every week to stay a hero. Eiji waited until the hero asked if anyone had any questions. Eiji stood up like a soldier, quickly and stood perfectly strait. "Sir, Eiji Hirragi aka Evade Rank C 292. I have a few questions. 1. What is the policy on teaming up with higher ranking heroes? Is this advised to raise our own rankings? 2. Should the new recruits shadow higher ranking heroes first or just hit the ground running and finally my third question. Are those of us in c rank forbidden from joining in higher danger level missions or is it up to our own discretion?"

Eiji stood at attention waiting for a response to his questions. He was a pro hero starting today and wanted to make sure that he showed everyone that he belonged there.

Church Rosenthal

So, it finally happened. There he was, one of many who were lucky to make it through the tests to become officially registered as heroes. Church was among a different group elsewhere getting more or less the same lecture as the others, and for him, he was relieved to see he was among the B ranks. Not having to worry about a weekly quota was a big relief but he understood that even the B rankers were no joking matter. He was able to show the world what he's capable of now and he was in no way going to make a mess of that if he can help it.

Curious of the composition of who made it in, it wasn't long for some rumors to spread that there were even some special exceptions that some S ranks were brought in. Whether they were A rankers before or they were registered in today like he was, it excited him nonetheless that there were people well above him getting out there. More people to aspire to rise above someday. As hyped as Church was, he wanted to know what others could be capable of, wondering if he'd be able to be seen as unique. Anyone could throw a punch but he'd hope his own abilities can make a difference as they grow. It's a rough road from here on out but where would the fun be if everything was easy?

Akiko Akiyama

There wasn't much going through Akiko Akiyama's head.

Not that she wasn't relieved to have made it into the Hero's Association, and more than that, managed to get a position like she did with her given powers as well at that, but still, she didn't find that there was much to think about beyond that, though if there was anything to say, she would have preferred something other than "Element Gal." Felt a tad too... not fitting for her, but it wasn't like she was the one who got to decide what her hero name would be, and to be honest, she wasn't really sure what she would have named herself anyway. But that was that, and this is this. She got accepted, and now, here she was, sitting at a lecture among the others who had been accepted along with her. The young girl listened intently, and despite bearing a rather dry and almost bored looking expression, she was actually a tad more interested than she looked.

But only just a tad.

With her arms folded on her desk and her back straight up, Akiko only sat quietly as one other hero posed a question concerning different matters, awaiting what the lecturer had to say in response, for the time being, the girl not possessing any special thoughts on the matter or insight.

B.

B for Bad.

B for Brag about it.

B for 'Bout right.

Hattori Dango grinned, pleased with his assessment. It wasn't a flying start, by any means, but it was a good start. It meant that he had acquitted himself well in the testing, and it meant that there was room to grow. A lot of room, by the looks of it; he was middle of the pack of B-tiers, which meant that above him were the rest of the B's, and then the A and S-Class. That was exciting. It meant that there was work to be done, experienced to be had and-

Rolling-Sensei, huh?

Technically speaking, he wasn't really a sensei, but he appreciated the way it rolled off the tongue.

Klik. Klik-Klik-Klik. Klik-Klik.

Aoi Otohiko's thumb danced over the phone's letters with lackadaisical speed, texting out a message beneath the header "Hero Rules":

… Quota of good, heroic deeds around the citi-

Recording the basics for Hero work on a phone would erase the need to carry around Hero Saiju's pamphlet, or even commit it to memory. This, however, was merely a bonus.

The SMPTE color bars frazzling over Aoi's television headdress were cocked down, palpably geared towards the cell resting over short, black skirt as the newly fledged Class C Hero rocked back and forth in the desk chair; violet hosed-knees contracting with each heeled push against the empty desk in front.

Klik-Klik. Klik-Klik-Klik-Klik. Klik.

… Saving cats from trees, walking an elder acros-

No, the real reward was how Aoi looked. A bored, television-box headed girl tapping at a phone through someone's lecture. It was rude, gutsy, and otaku.

He loved it.

The television screen rescrambled into a >:) to mimic his punk nature. So long as Aoi wore this guise, he could act to his heart's desire. Social anxiety, reputation, both irrelevant to the christened hero "TV Head"!! Anything and anywhere to deviate would be allowed under the measly stipulation of finding lost pets or whatever; which was just as well given how Aoi shouldn't have even been there. But with the dilemma of choosing juvie or the Hero's Association, the latter was the obvious choice. Didn't mean he would be pleasant about it.

Aoi texted the last word as Saiju concluded his lecture, question prepared. Given the existent ranking system, it was only logical there were rewards for being higher on the metaphorical TV antenna. With Aoi placing 97 out of 300 among Class C, it was a sure bet there were some perks. All he had to do was raise his hand.

Just had to bring attention to himself, in the silent room, when no one else had any questions.

Easy. Raising a hand wasn't any big deal, so Aoi would just do it.

Actually, it would be easier to find out online. No need to waste anyone's tim-

An older, black-haired boy with glasses jumped to his feet. "Sir, Eiji Hirragi aka Evade Rank C 292. I have a few questions."

Oh thank god.

The hero "Evade" listed off a series of questions, with zero pertinence to Aoi's own. Still the hero had broken the ice to ask for questions. Aoi wouldn't stand out for-

Sigh.

Even now was Aoi rationalizing the fear, fear of being noticed. Being wrong, strange, targeted. So much for the glorious "TV Head."

The television screen flickered (╥﹏╥), and just as quickly was replaced by SMPTE static as the TV headed Hero sullenly rocked away, head down.
