Set in present day London, the recent murder of 17-year-old student Amy Harold has shocked the world. Cruelly killed in her own home by a single intruder, she was found in the morning having been stabbed to death in her own bed. The police have worked out that Amy knew her killer, and are currently on the hunt to discover who had ended her life.
It transpired that the simple life Amy had been believed to have led was in fact filled with dark secrets, and a shadow organisation led by the dangerous villain Cyrus Thain has begun to track down and eliminate the five people who were closest to her; her older sister, her boyfriend, her sixth form tutor and her two closest friends. These five must desperately work out who killed Amy and why they are being targeted, as they struggle to survive on the streets.

Personality: Ellie is generally sensible and pragmatic, often taking the role of a level head within the group and mediating between the more volatile spirits in a group. She's got a bit of a short temper and can be wound up if someone hits the right buttons, especially if she feels that the people around her are acting like kids instead of getting anything done. She's intelligent and generally pleasant, although she has got a habit of giving up a bit too easily if things get difficult.
History: Ellie was in regular contact with her sister via Skype and text, but she hadn't seen Amy for almost three months now, having moved to the far side of the city. She works at a radio station, where she provides the travel news and weather for the morning shows, as well as doing some of the research. With her sister's sudden death, in such dreadful circumstances, Ellie has been given compassionate leave by the station to help her to grieve. She was very close to her sister when they were younger, always playing the role of a helpful big sister, but when she moved out of the family home their relationship drifted apart too, with Ellie being quite busy at work whilst Amy had her own social life and schoolwork to worry about.
Ellie isn't too familiar with Amy's friends, although she has met both Casey and Damien before, and she's heard about Drew from both her sister and their parents. Having not had much contact with her sister in the months leading up to her death, Ellie has a lot of regrets and wishes that she could have spent more time with her sister when she had the chance, instead of fobbing her off and saying that she was too busy for her younger sister...

She was in the process of jumping between friends when she literally ran into Amy in the hallway. They talked and were very close friends ever since. Sleepovers, sharing secrets, gossiping, talking about boys, etc. To Casey, Amy was her very own clique. Casey never had any other real friends after she met Amy, because Amy was all Casey needed. She liked being Amy's friend. Often the two would get each other in trouble. Most friendships have that one friend who finds trouble, between the two it was equally split.
Casey always has a fake mask, getting good grades and saying "please" and "thank you" to her parents. Adults and authority figures thought Casey was a saint, but in reality she wasn't. She loved the night life and the secrets.
Casey made it a goal to try to get along with whoever was in Amy's life, friends, family, and boyfriends. She never really considered them "friends" but Casey tried to get along with anyone Amy trusted, even if she didn't think they deserved it.

He has piercing blue eyes that often glimmer with whatever emotion he is feeling at the time, whether it is anger or playfulness. He is a relatively healthy weight, although often appears a tad underweight.

Personality: Drew comes across at first as the typical heart-throb from a book or movie, the type of guy that the girl would fall instantly for. He's a smartass,, but never usually mean about it. He's friendly to a lot of people, and always is at first until you give him a reason not to. He's far from a teacher's pet, but always finds a way to worm his way into the teacher's good books- usually with a charming comment or a remark to make the teacher smile. He's relatively intelligent- always just above average. If he applied himself, he probably could reach the top of every class, but he's not designed for academia. He is incredibly protective, sometimes almost too much.
However, Drew is far from perfect. He has a short fuse, and when he gets angry, it's better to hope that it's not at you. He turns violent very quickly, and while he swears he would never lay a hand on anyone he cares about, that can often be difficult to believe. He's been known to start fights, and he seldom comes away as the worst injured. If Drew is upset at you for any reason, it's better to apologise- and fast.
History: Drew grew up in an abusive household. Both of his parents loved him, and there was never a hand laid on him, but he heard the fights. He'd see the bruises on his father's face, would hear his mother breaking glasses and threatening his father with them. Drew promised himself he'd never be a coward like his father. When he was thirteen, he woke up one morning to the police at the door. His mother had gone out drinking after a fight, and she'd wrapped their car around a tree. Apparently, she'd died instantly, leaving him with his coward of a father.
He developed an eating disorder not long after that. It was brief, but brutal- he lost far too much weight. During that time, he also became suicidal, and attempted once. He pulled out of it and became incredibly popular when he reached high school. He wasn't a jock, but his popularity entitled him to hang out with them. He and Amy started dating when they were seventeen. The night she died, they'd been arguing. He was worried that she was cheating on him with one of her friends. She'd brought up the secrets he'd hidden so well- his mother's abuse of his father, his eating disorder, his attempt. He'd stormed out, and had then managed to get in an argument with one of her best friends. The police hadn't managed to find the murder weapon, and seeing as he'd had two arguments and had been in the area when she'd been killed, he was their prime suspect. But they only had circumstantial evidence- not enough to charge him.

01. STICK TO THE PLOT, as much as possible. Despite the characters' emotions revolving Amy's death, finding out who killed her is mainly a subplot. The main plot is in fact how the main characters survive on the streets as fugitives and how their relationships develop whether positively or negatively. As such, it is more or less a sandbox game and the characters can do whatever they like in the roleplay. Any side plot can be created, whether specific to a single character or to various, but make sure the plots are realistic. If you have a very massive plot twist you want to include, please try to run it by me first.
02. MINOR CHARACTERS. Although you have one main character each, you can create minor characters that you can control whenever you feel, to move the plot along, but please try to keep them non-vital. This means don't add their thoughts/personal feelings unless necessary and try to treat them generally as minor characters. A character profile is optional. If you want a second character or a minor character to become a main character, please run it by me first, and if accepted, please make a profile for the character.
03. SIGNING UP. Although the roleplay is technically closed to sign-ups, if you are really interested in the RP, can promise to be active and want to have a part, PM me. If I like the character/role that you are trying to include, I will allow you to create a character profile, and if that impresses me or the othes, I will accept.
04. TRY TO BE ACTIVE. Granted, you probably have other things happening in your life, but if you know you are going to be unable to roleplay for a while, notify me by PM or on this discussion. Please don't just stop writing without any reason or notice. If you are inactive for over a week without notification, your character will be made NPC for the others to share your control. You can reclaim your character later but you never know what may have happened to them in that time, so be cautious. If there is over three weeks of unnotified inactivity, your character may be assigned to another interested roleplayer :(
05. NOTIFIED INACTIVITY. That being said, if you do notify me on any upcoming absences, we can write a temporary exit for your character to save you the trouble of having to pick up from wherever everyone else has left you. If you can't return to your character, notify me, so we can reassign or write out your character - your decision.
06. BE NICE. This goes to IC as well as OOC. If somebody hasn't replied for the day, don't make them feel unincluded by ignoring their characters in general. If there are three characters involved in a conversation, for example, try not to rush through the convo while the other roleplayer is offline otherwise they may feel left out. But of course, if only two characters are in the scene, post as much as you feel like - as long as nobody is excluded.
07. NO GODMODDING. I cannot stress this enough. There is nothing worse than a character who has no weaknesses and completely destroys everyone else. However, this doesn't mean you have to have feeble characters, just don't overdo it. There aren't any superpowers or telekinetic/telepathic abilities here, so keep it realistic.
08. USE YOUR SECRETS. Your secrets, albeit secrets, can't be hidden forever. Try to include it in the plot at some point, in any way you want. You can expose your secrets, you can confide in another character or you can add them into your character's thoughts. That being said, try not to burst out all your secrets on the third page! It is more fun if you work your way towards a revelation to build suspense, drama and shock factor. Your character can turn detective if you feel like finding out what everyone else is hiding, but don't make references to the fact that everyone has secrets as your character is only aware that they are hiding something.
09. DON'T SPOIL IT. Please don't tell the other roleplayers your secrets, it has to be a surprise. If, however, by some chance you do learn another's secret, don't mention them OOC or even IC, unless your character learns the secret IC. Try to individualise your own knowledge from your characters'.
10. HAVE FUN, the most important rule. Enjoy yourself! This RP is designed to entertain you as well as the readers, so have fun with it and have fun with your secrets. If for any reason you aren't enjoying the experience, please PM me so that I can help fix the problem.
