Personality: Fairly cheerful girl who always tries to see the good in people, and gets sad every time reality slaps her in the face with the truth that you just can't always trust others. She always tries to cheer people up when they're not feeling well, sometimes to the extent that she doesn't take care of herself, but at the same time she was taught to be very cautious about being alone, and always has all senses on high alert when she has to go anywhere alone in the dark. In other words, she's a careful, but still trusting person.

Background: Her parents met when her computer-engineer father was called on to fix her mother's personal computer, integral to her biomedical research. Long story short, both her parents cheated on each other. Her father first, then her mother in retaliation. But the fact that Patrick had cheated caused Melody to file for a divorce, unwilling to put up with the facade of having a happy family home in such broken circumstances. Melody gave up all three children because each, in their own way, reminded her of Patrick's infidelity. So Melissa grew up along with Sierra and Michael under Patrick's care. He was a very loving, but strict father. She found out about the Greek gods at the same time her brother and sister (she doesn't even think the "half" part) did, which was when she turned seven.
Powers: None.
Likes: Fruit leather, Japanese food, garlic, listening to people sing, hugs from and to family, having a sense of security.
Dislikes: The dark (not a fear, just a dislike), insects, cigarettes, strong smells including perfume, public-speaking, ginger, violence.
Fears: Being raped, drugs, animals - mostly the small, jumpy types like squirrels and birds.

Appearance:
Personality: Sierra is very quiet, not prone to outbursts of any kind, whether they be joyous or angry. Extremely studious and somewhat unsociable, she's basically a fairly hard-working, smart introvert, who gives off a kind of "don't touch me" air. She is, however, perfectly capable of expressing emotion, and it is clear in her expression when she's angry or happy. When she's angry, people for some reason get the unnerving urge to not come within a hundred feet of her, barring Melissa and Michael. Any others who do come near her when she's angry usually get hurt accidentally, like her textbook will drop on their feet, etc, nothing major. Many also experience nightmares or a suddenly excessive fear of the dark they didn't have before. She is a bit of a pessimist, but it's mostly joking.

Background: She is the daughter of the primordial goddess Nyx. Her father had no idea the lady was a powerful goddess, but he was rather powerfully seduced, unfortunate considering he really had loved Melody. Several weeks before Melissa's conception, he got thoroughly drunk at a party with friends and Nyx took advantage of him. Sierra was delivered to their bedroom in the middle of the night around nine months later, in a glowing baby basket that looked like it was made of those glow-in-the-dark star materials, covered in a very soft dark blue blanket with constellations beautifully embroidered onto them and her name embossed on the edge. That blanket is still very important to her and she keeps it tied to her belt like a little sash. No matter how many times it's washed, it never fades or gets rough. NO ONE messes with that blanket. Her appearance scared a very-pregnant Melody so much it induced childbirth, so she and Melissa celebrate their birthdays together, since they're on consecutive dates. Her father never hid from her the fact that she was born by a different mother, but he couldn't provide any answers to who her mother was, exactly. On her seventh birthday, she and Michael and Melissa were visited by Nyx, who told them all the truth. They were smart children, but they believed Nyx, and since then Nyx would occasionally send notes to make sure Sierra never forgot her. The Goddess of Night didn't, however, give her only demigod child any pointers on how to control her considerable powers, and she struggled with that for a long time.
Powers: She can see in the dark, darken an area around her, seem to melt into the shadows, cause other people nightmares (often accidentally), make other people sleepy, increase others' negative feelings especially resentment and fear of death or the dark (important note: she can't CAUSE negative emotions that aren't there, only enhance the ones that are), similarly she can enhance negative medical symptoms that are affected by the night.
Likes: Melissa's optimism, horses (nightmares harhar), fireflies, the wind, quietude, fast-flowing water, books with good dialogue (she's a huge Jane Austen fan, though she'll deny it if you ask her), ZZ Ward songs, thunder storms.
Dislikes: Reading about her mythological family (they are pretty despicable in some ways...), bullies, noisy and/or stupid people, weapons.
Fears: Losing her wonderful, warm, caring family.

Appearance:
Personality: He's similar to Melissa in that he's a pretty cheerful and kind person, but unlike her, he doesn't have a maintaining faith in the goodness of people. He will actively hold grudges against people he doesn't like and believes he's a good enough judge of character to be able to tell who the scumbags are. To his credit, he is fairly good at it. Sometimes he does let the blood get to his head and doesn't always hesitate to duke it out when he's mad at someone. Being pretty athletic and having a flexible mindset, he's a pretty good fighter, when push comes to shove.

Background: His mother had gone to Greece a few months after the Melissa's birth, a trip she kept secret from Patrick, because that was where they'd had their honeymoon. At some point, she ended up crying in a secluded spot next to the Achelous River, where Achelous approached her and, taking advantage of her grief, made love to her. It wasn't until she got back to the States that she eventually realized she was pregnant. She revealed that Michael wasn't Patrick's child after Michael was born, before she began the process of filing for divorce. He never felt like the cuckoo in the nest, since Patrick made it clear that he considered Michael as much his child as Sierra and Melissa. Nyx revealed his father's identity to him when she showed up in front of them, but only because it happened to come up, not because she actually cared about him. Nyx is like that. Anyways, he spent a long time wondering why his father never contacted him, but has since gotten used to the idea. Plus, he figures Achelous probably can't leave the Achelous River, and he's not planning to go there any time soon.
Powers: Like his sisters (the sirens) his singing draws people to him and makes them feel lethargic and weak. He can also control freshwater to some small extent, such as making it swell or ebb - flow faster or slower, he can also make dwindling supplies last a bit longer than normal (since the horn of plenty came from his father's brow), and skin contact with a small amount of saltwater turns it into freshwater. He's an excellent swimmer, but that's not exactly a power....
Likes: Swimming, being out in the sun, being free to do his own thing, strawberries, honey, camping.
Dislikes: Being forced to do anything, eggs, staying inside too long, sitting still and quiet too long, funnily enough he thinks fish look stupid and are a waste of space, rain.
Fears: Perpetual boredom, dusty dark cold libraries, dark stall bathrooms (not that he'd admit it).
In case you couldn't tell, Michael and Sierra are very very different in their tastes and lifestyles, and really their only actual similarity is that they are both very protective of Melissa, but they get along fairly well in their own way. I was only planning to make a human girl character. -_- Oh me and my plans.... I'm trying to figure out which powers to edit, in case they're overpowered.
