Alution was tired. Not just the typical bored tired, but the kind of tired that only comes from losing a big fight. He'd lost his nest to some big, bullheaded idiot of a dragon who decided to expand his territory and steal some of his horde. He let out a small sigh as he thought of it. He'd been pushed into less favorable territory, where most of his typical meals were few and far between.

The only way he could reasonably see surviving here was by tormenting the humans. If they feared him enough, then perhaps they'd try to strike a deal with him. Or kill him. There was always that little pain. Humans were just so unpredictable, it was just so frustrating.

Slowly he made his way to the entrance of his den. He still wasn't feeling up to raiding a castle, though his injuries were mostly healed by now, so his gaze flicked to the direction of a small farming village that would have some cattle fresh for the stealing. The small dragon spread his wings and took off with ease. The only good thing about his new mountainous abode was that the updrafts were quite nice for taking off and landing.

Little did he know that the prince was visiting the village he was flying off to.
