Hey, this is something I really liked from RPNation, but when alerts come up, they also show up as little red numbers in the corner of the icon so that you don't have to click on it to know you have an alert.
 
Uhm.... Iwaku works that way. When an alert appears, there are red numbers beside the alert tab to show how many new alerts you have.
 
Not next to the alert tab. Next to the icon in the web browser tab. That way, you don't have to keep checking in on iwaku to know if you have an alert.

I will look in to this. O_O I don't know if that's a modification, part of their style, or something that is custom coded to them. So I'll have to do some snooping.
