As this may suggest, this is an interest check. The full plot will come out when I have the time, but for now I'll give you this: The land of Nihon is a massive continent, home to mountains, deserts, and a number of different cultures. But above all are the Yamanta, an empire that has conquered much of the continent. They believe themselves to be descended from the sun goddess Yamata herself, who rules over all other gods and kami (spirits). They subjugate the Qinar, a culturally similar group who were unlucky enough to be dominated by the Yamanta. Their culture and language are outlawed, and any who are born Qin are forced to work in menial labor. Recently, the Qinar have begun to rebel, even forming full-fledged armies and an unofficial state of Qina-Gundon, or Kingdom of the Qin. From the west, strange ships have landed on stranger shores, bringing with them a race of pale-skinned strangers to Nihon who seek to conquer new lands. In the middle of all this are the Hurasaki, the Shadow Clans: Tribes of warriors who attune themselves to the fabric of nature and the Nihoni gods. There are many, but are classified into three types: The Elemental kami tribes, who attune themselves to an inanimate part of nature; The Living kami tribes, who attune with a spirit animal; and the Human kami tribes. These are considered to be the most vile of them all, as the Human kami are dangerous and malevolent. All of the Hurasaki are mercenaries who sell themselves out to the highest bidder. No tribe ever divides itself in a conflict.
The common factors in all of this are the Hurasaki clans, of which we will be playing. Show some love and interest, and expect an OOC at the end of this week or during the next.
