Ninja Team Omega: Taming the Stolen Lands

Yuji Morimoto

Yuji kept stressing about his internal struggle all the way until the conversation came to an end, not really able to focus and absorb all the information that was being presented. When it finally did end, Yuji only ended up feeling worse. Great, I couldn't say anything and I didn't pay attention to what everyone was saying. Now if I bring it up later they'll think I was keeping secrets from them or that I don't trust them or something. Way to go Yuji... As soon as he heard the others' footsteps, he waited desperately for them to fade away out the room. As soon as they did, he walked over to the nearest wall and slumped down onto it until he slid down to a sitting position. Once there, he finally let out all his tension with a sigh.

"Why does this always have to be so hard," he asked himself with a quiet voice, believing himself to be alone. He leaned his head back against the wall with his eyes closed, trying his best to relax as his mind continued to torment him over not speaking up. Maybe I should take a nap or something...

Kazuki Hoshino

As Kazuki stood tall with his grin of confidence, he heard the girl that called him by a nickname begin to explain her powers. He listened to her... unique... abilities quietly, but he didn't know how he felt about them. As he was trying to mull it over, he heard her request him to follow her. This caught his attention, and peaked his interest. "Hm? You wish to speak with me in private, Miss Suzu? Then I shall graciously oblige!" With his usual fervor, he agreed to follow along with her. As she led him outside the room, he couldn't help but wonder what she wanted to talk about.

Wait! She's a girl, asking me, a beautifully dazzling man, to speak in private. It must be that! She must be utterly take by me, and intends to confess her feeling for me. Of course, that makes perfect sense! As he confirmed his assumption in his head as valid, he nodded to himself in satisfaction over figuring out what was going on. Having made this confirmation in his head, he waited until she stopped walking before speaking up.

"Miss Suzu, I understand how you must feel, and that this must take a lot of courage. I respect you for gathering up that courage so quickly! He began to address her intentions as soon as they were alone, speaking his honest thoughts on the matter. "I respect courage and action in a woman, but I believe it's too soon. We've only just met after all, and thus we barely know each other. I understand that I'm shooting down all that courage before you may even let it out, but we mustn't jump blindly into romance when we know so little of each other. Rather than giving up though, I implore you to wait until we've gotten to know each other better, and we can address it then! I will naturally keep you on my mind, and I am happy that you have come to feel for me this way, but we mustn't be hasty. You may feel free to continue calling me by your pet name however, so fret not!" He finished his little speech with a glowing smile filled with kindness and understanding, hoping that he had put it lightly enough that she would not begin to cry.

Suzue had brought Kazuki out of the room towards the hallway, where the two could speak in private. While he jumped to conclusions, she had been thinking about the questions she would be asking him. Did his abilities work with the sun as well since it was a giant star? What were the consequences of his abilities if there was one? Just how strong would he be at night, and what specifically could his clan's kekkei genkai do? Would he be able to demonstrate this strange power or would it be too dangerous?

Before she could speak, he started talking. He expressed something completely different to what Suzue had in mind that by the end of his little speech he had left her speechless.

She bit the inside of her cheek hard to keep herself from laughing, but she couldn't stop the amused look on her face.

"Calm down Musubi(1), I wanted to ask you to explain your clan's abilities in detail so I know how to incorporate your jutsu to my strategies. I didn't think the rest of the team would want to hear it, so I brought you here to speak privately." Suzue explained to him, feeling the second-hand embarrassment mixed with awkwardness. She decided she would just ignore the speech entirely to save them both the trouble. "For instance, how exactly does your jutsu work? Is it a large attack like Shark bullet technique or a smaller one? Does it take any hand signs? If so, how many? How well does it work in the day compared to evening?"

Shiromi watched the sparkly boy follow Suzue out the room, and the others followed suit. She had not known whether to follow the others out at first, but soon decided that she would exit the room anyways since the meeting was over, and prepare for landing. Before she walked out, she turned over to look at the meeting room, looking at the left over members that were there. At that point almost everyone had headed out, except for Hina and Yuji. She grinned a little, realizing the similarities that they both have. She chuckled and walked out, going back to her own room and laying back on her bed.

--------------------------------------

Hina had stayed silent throughout the entire meeting after her introduction, until everyone had left and the room was empty. Well, almost. She noticed someone still standing in the room, before watching the figure lean on a wall and slump down. Hina had been the only person who hadn't moved since the meeting, so once everyone had left the footsteps completely faded away. She continued watching the boy, curious as to why he was here in the meeting room alone.

Soon she would hear him speak, mumbling about something to himself, but loud enough for her to hear. She was nervous to ask, but didn't want to leave him alone here in the room when he seems so troubled. Hoping she would at least be of help, she called out to him with the most gentle voice she could. "Y-Yuji? Are you alright?" she started, still standing in her spot. "If there's anything troubling you you can tell me."

Yuji Morimoto

As Yuji sat resting his eyes, getting ready to doze off, the sudden sound of a voice nearby startled him to a point that he nearly jumped out of his skin. As he held the wall behind him with shocked eyes on the girl standing, he was breathing heavily, trying to calm himself down. Huh?! Someone was still here?! That means... she heard me just now! What do I do?! While he was silently panicking, his teammate that had stayed behind offered to hear him out. This helped him to calm down significantly, and he sighed his tension out. He let his arms flop to his side and bowed his head, still sitting with his legs crossed.

"I-I'm sorry for worrying you. Thank you for your concern." Looking up again, he realized that he was looking up at her from his position, which made him feel a bit awkward. With a tint of blush on his cheeks, he averted his eyes while gesturing an offer. "W-why don't you sit down as well? I'd feel bad if you stood and listened to me while I sat..." This whole situation was unusual to him; people almost never offered to hear him out, let alone a cute girl. He remembered that she had been staring at him earlier as well, and the whole situation got him nervous. After feeling his face grow hotter, he shook his head to try to chase away his self-consciousness before speaking up again. "W-well... y'see... the thing is, there was more I had wanted to say earlier... but I didn't want everyone to think I was being distrustful or anything, and I kinda... never found the courage to speak up..." He spoke earnestly, but as he began to admit what he was thinking he grew embarrassed for different reasons, and eventually hid his burning face. "I-I'm sorry... you must think I'm weird or something..." I can't believe I just spewed all that out to her!

Kazuki Hoshino

When Suzue shot down Kazuki's assumptions, and even worse claimed that the team wouldn't want to hear him talk about his clan's abilities, his expression quickly switched to one of disappointment. Wouldn't want to hear it?! How blasphemous! Why wouldn't they want to hear the glorious tales of my clan's capabilities?! He was absolutely beside himself with how absurd the statement was to him, but he put that thought aside for the moment on account of her drive to learn about his clan personally. "Very well, since you seem to be so enraptured I guess I can't fault you too much." The boy sighed for a moment before returning to his usual vigor.

"My clan has a special relationship with the stars. The more we bathe in their glimmering light, the more of their power we can harness. Even so, each member of my sparkling clan has their limits, and mine far exceed all of my peers! I can store more energy that anyone else, which gives me lots of liberty to use it. I can control exactly how my power is used with no hand signs required, and the more I sparkle and shine the more power I can use! If I'm under the graces of the stars while in a fight, there will be no end to my power until they are no longer visible! During the daytime I can only use what I've soaked in, but since I'm loved by the stars themselves that's not much of a limit anyways," he finished with a smirk of confidence and a flip of his bangs.

Hasaki had stalked away after meeting his team, Nightlight plodding beside him as he headed up the stairs to the deck of the Tenacious. He shook his head and walked to the front of the ship. He was happy with most of them, but.. that Kazuki. Beloved by his clan, prodigious powers.. almost a complete antithesis to his own background. And that pissed him off, perhaps irrationally, but he was so confident because of all that.

Nightlight pawed at Hasaki's leg and made a small sound, and the young Shinobi looked down at his companion. He smiled and pet her head for a moment as the call of "Land ho!" rung through the ship.

"You're right. New land.. I'll prove myself here..."
@Jessica2477 @DangoYumi @Lore Magus

The entire time he spoke, Suzue had her arms crossed in front of her body, one hand to her chin as she stroked it in thought. had thought about what he said, thinking of all the potential that Sparkles' abilities held. It sounded powerful, but was it discreet? Could it be discreet? No... most likely not. It would seem that she would have to keep the blond front and center at all times... How boring. Sparkles wasn't versatile at all, so she couldn't play around with strategies when it came to him. However, his abilities did seem like they were going to be a huge asset, if not their ace.

So much potential and yet so little possibilities.

"But what about weaknesses? Drawbacks?" Suzue had asked, however, it seemed that would have to wait for a voice above called out that they were approaching land.

"Hm... We'll have to continue this conversation another time, Sparkles. See you later." She turned to walk away, and as she did so, she said. "Oh, and don't assume a girl taking you to the side to talk to you is a love confession. You'll make yourself look stupid like that." With that, she gave a brief wave and continued her way, heading towards the main deck so that when reached shore, she would be ready to get off the boat immediately.

@Lore Magus

Shiromi soon heard the shout of land ho ringing throughout the ship. She sat up and peeked out the window, excited for whats to come. However, she was also incredibly nervous as to what would happen. She was hoping that she would have a chance to maybe find out what had happened to her village, and figure out what she would do to the people who did it. She thought of taking revenge, but she is trying to convince herself out of it, as she knows that revenge isn't something her family would want her to pursue. Sighing, she packed her things and got out of her room, heading out to the deck as she waited for the boat to dock.

----------------------------------------------------------

Hina blinked at his reaction, realizing that she had been in the same position since just now, thus causing him to not notice her still being here after everyone left. She was about to apologize for startling him but stopped when she saw him relax, waiting for him to say something. Hearing him offer a seat, she nodded and walked over, sitting down beside him waiting for him to continue. She kept her eyes ahead of her, glancing over to him once in a while since she thought it would be rude to stare.

She listened to what he had to say, and thought about it for a moment. She couldn't believe how similar they both were, embarrassed easily and shy around people. A small smile crept up to her face as she shook her head slightly when she heard him apologize, speaking in a soft voice so that only the two of them can hear. "You're not weird at all. I totally understand..." she paused, looking over to him. The fact that he was so similar to her made her feel more connected to him, and she felt thankful for this chance to interact with him. "I am the same." she admitted, fiddling with her fingers. She was about to continue before hearing that they had arrived. "W-Well, guess we have to go now. I'm always here to listen if you'd like." she spoke, standing up and offering a hand to him. "Let's go."

Yuji Morimoto

When the girl that heard him out assured him he wasn't weird and vocalized understanding, Yuji peaked at her. The combination of her soft voice, earnest words, and kind expression made Yuji blush again. Seeing her fiddle with her fingers, an action he was all too familiar with, cemented the feeling that the two were kindred spirits, which made him happy that he had a teammate that understood him. "Thank you. Ah, for hearing me out and being so nice I mean! I appreciate it... really!" He redirected his gaze forward as he got nervous again, fumbling with words a bit. As they sat there for a moment, he watched her in the corner of his eyes, trying not to look like he was staring as he tried to think of what else to say. In the end they were interrupted by the call of land though, so he never got the chance.

Almost immediately after the call of land-ho rang out, Yuji heard his teammate offer to hear him out again and felt her stand up next to him. Looking up as he got ready to stand himself, he saw a hand extended in front of him. Tracing the arm with his eyes to see the girl was in fact offering him her hand, he blushed again and averted his gaze shyly as he accepted her hand and got to his feet. "Th-thanks, uh..." It was at this moment that he remembered that he didn't know her name yet due to his being late. Hiding his embarrassment yet again, he spoke up; "...right. Um, since I was late I didn't catch your name. I hope it's not a bother if I ask what it was." He then realized that he hadn't let go of her hand yet and quickly released her, chuckling nervously with his hand at the back of his head. "W-we should get moving!" He opened the door to the room and stood to the side while offering to let her go first.

Kazuki Hoshino

Kazuki felt a bit conflicted about the questions Suzue was asking about his kekkei genkai. Before speaking his frustrations, he had to tell remind himself that this was all for team balance. Remember, the more your allies know about your capabilities the better they can serve to compliment them and increase the chances of success. Right! Don't take it personally. After making himself certain that this was for the better, he started to explain again, "You see," until he got interrupted by the call for land-ho. Suzue's prompt dismissal of him directly afterwards deflated his mood a bit, and when she followed with a direct attack he gripped his chest flamboyantly like he had been shot with an arrow. He quickly recovered though, as he cleared his throat. "Yes, of course. We'll go with that. Allow me to escort you to the deck nonetheless, Miss Suzu." The harshness of the girl's attitude led Kazuki to not be fully convinced that his initial assumption was off the mark. She must be hurt inside, and trying to hold it together with a rough exterior. Yes, that's quite understandable given her behavior. Ah well, I shall allow her to save face by going along with it. With that, he proudly walked down the hall towards the deck alongside Suzue.

After the call of land-ho went out, the ninjas all generally began to mill around and get up on deck. It took about twenty minutes for the ships to land and be tied down, during which time the teams were told to disembark and gather together. Hasaki was mostly pleased with his team, but being set with an overconfident prodigy set his teeth on edge. His history seemed to be nearly the exact opposite of his...

But he didn't have too much time to worry about that at the moment. He lined up with the rest of the squad in front of a Jonin named Takeshi. This would be their handler for their time here, and the blond man smiled at what he saw.

"Alright." he said. "The terraformers are going to begin working on our first settlement, but you don't have time to rest. I want you to go scout out the immediate area, make sure that there's none of those lawless bandits around to threaten our new lands." he nodded. "Any questions?"

Suzue herself was a little frustrated that she didn't get the chance to learn more about such a strange kekkei genkai. It would have been a great benefit to the team to learn what the ins and outs were, but she wasn't too upset. She was certain she could learn more later or, at the least, see it for herself should a battle arise.

She continued walking, letting Kazuki catch up to her since she had no intentions of running without reason.

Running was effort, and effort was bad for little Suzue's heart.

She met up with the rest of her team at the dock of the boat, watching as they reached the shore. She was... uninterested to say the least. It looked exactly as one would have expected, which was fine. Predictability was great for planning around it. Predictability would also allow her to figure out where the best napping spots were.

She listened to the Jonin's instructions, and by the end of it, she rose her hand. "What else do we have to do today?"

Suzue wanted to know exactly what they had to do so that she could make her tasks list and get it done faster. Much like her combat style, the sooner it was finished the sooner she could catch a nap or watch some clouds roll by. If she was too shaken up to rest after their mission, maybe one of her new teammates would be willing to force her body to sleep by choking her unconscious.

Maybe the hunt for those lawless bandits would also let her see just how well they worked together as a team...

Or, if everyone decided to split up, she could see how quick they could get this particular task done or how long it would take before they were prisoners.

Yuji Morimoto

The boy walked alongside his teammate in awkward, yet slightly less so than before, silence. He was excited to be able to interact with someone honestly for the first time, but was still nervous about her being a girl. Even so, he felt that he shouldn't keep hiding in his awkwardness forever if he wanted to connect with his teammates, and he ought to start by being wholly honest with the girl that heard him out. With that in mind, he worked up his courage to speak up while keeping his gaze straight and slightly upward so that he was looking at the ceiling above them.

"So, about what I said earlier... about what I hadn't mentioned during the meeting I mean. I feel that I owe it to the team to speak up about it sooner rather than later. I'm still not confident in myself, but the longer I wait then the harder it'll get to tell them right? Ehehehe..." He finished off his thought with a nervous laugh as he lightly scratched his chin with an index finger. Steeling his courage once more, he continued to explain how he felt about the situation. "I'm still really nervous, but you hearing me out made me feel that maybe things will turn out alright if I just... come clean. Thank you for that. You make me feel... less nervous, I think, so I was thinking I should tell you first. Would that be... alright with you?" Despite speaking of working up his courage, he continued avoiding eye contact, though this was in part due to the fact that they were still walking down the hall.

~~Small Time Skip~~
(to allow for Yuji's reactions after the two arrive on deck and still give DangoYumi the space to RP for Hinagiku's side of their convo)

As the two arrived on deck, Yuji noticed the other squads sectioning off and quickly caught sight of their own squadmates lining up. Oh no, late again... "C-come on, let's line up!" The gentle spirit picked up his pace while approaching their squad, leading the way since he had seen them from afar while making sure his pace wasn't too fast for his fellow truant by association to keep up. He lined up beside the rest of the team and silently listened to the instructions that their assigned Jonin gave them. After a slight nod of affirmation, more for himself than anything, he sensed on of the teammates raise their hand before hearing one of the other kunoichi speak up. Upon hearing her question, he chanced a peak in her direction. He still wasn't totally familiar with his squad, so he wanted to associate the voice to the face for later. After that, he mulled over her question to himself. It's simple, but a very good question. If we know what we'll be doing then we can work our schedule around it. Maybe I could look for some edible plants or meet the local wildlife... As he thought this to himself, a small grin formed on his face.

Kazuki Hoshino

As Kazuki walked with Suzue to the deck, nothing was said between them. Despite this, Kazuki walked with a confident smile beaming on his face. Despite everything, she even waited for me to catch up to her so we could walk beside each other. There's no doubt that Miss Suzu has feelings for me at this point, but I'll kindly pretend I haven't noticed. I'm sure more than anything she'll appreciate that silence while she works up the courage to be honest with herself again. In the meantime, we can get to know each other better through proper teamwork and interaction. The radiant boy nodded to himself in satisfaction at this thought, and continued on until the two of them convened with their squadmates and lined up before their Jonin. He was elated at learning that they'd be doing recon on the area to confirm their own safety from bandits. Marvelous! If we confirm that no enemies are in the area then we will be confident in our safety, and if we do find any then I will have the chance to dazzle everyone with my marvelous kekkei genkai and erase all of their unjust concerns and doubts! Literally a win-win situation!

When their Jonin asked for questions and Suzue promptly asked one, Kazuki grew a bit curious. I wonder what she has planned with that information. Perhaps she's looking for opportunities for us to be alone; how very sly Miss Suzu. That said, I should raise my hand as well After the Jonin Takeshi finished answering Suzue's question, Kazuki energetically raised his own. "Yes sir, I also have questions! Primarily: whereabouts shall we be reconvening and sleeping tonight, and are you aware if we will have a good view of the stars?"

@DangoYumi @Mythy the Dragon-Wolf @Jessica2477

Shiromi followed neatly with the team, arriving at the island with curious eyes. She looked around and surveyed the area, the blond jonin immediately catching her eye. Hearing the man speak she turned her attention to him, listening intently to his brief about their new mission. 'Already?' she thought, amazed at the speed that things are moving, but she didn't hate it. She herself would love to explore the lands and see how compatible she would be with her teammates. She wondered if that was the only thing they would be doing, and Suzue's question proved that she wasn't the only one curious. She chuckled at Kazuki's follow up questions, noting the difference in priority between the two.

--------------------------------
Hina was glad that she was able to talk to the boy, as throughout the entire meeting she only managed to do a short self introduction and didn't really get to make a friend. She continued walking with him until he spoke up, making her turn to look at her new friend. She listened to what he had to say and a small smile crept upon her face, happy that Yuji was able to share his feelings with her."Of course." She started, pausing to think for a moment. "Don't worry, there will definitely be a time where we will be discussing our abilities again so you can tell them then." She said, her tone as gentle as before.

Soon they arrived at the deck, and she would notice that everyone was already there, lined up in front of a jonin. She quickly followed behind Yuji and proceeded to listen to the group speak, her eyes following the source of sound from the person speaking.

Their Jonin leader looked over at Suzue, and then Kazuki, before shaking his head. "Your next job has not been decided yet. Nor have your sleeping accommodations. We need you to scout the area and make sure there are no threats lingering nearby. Once you have done that, dispatching any threats you do find, return to the village. From there you will be given these other items you have requested.

Hasaki looked at the jonin and nodded, before looking at the rest of his team. Nightlight pawed at the ground, wanting to get going, and the runt spoke up. "We should get going. The longer we wait, the more danger of being discovered."

Suzue yawned then nodded her head a few times. "Sure. What's the plan? Are we going in a group or in teams?"

She asked Hasaki. They had the choice of going in teams, splitting up and finding a way to communicate with each other from long distance, or going in a group. While the group option was safest, they wouldn't be able to cover as much distance as they would splitting up or going in teams.

Then again, it was more difficult to be inconspicuous if they were going in a group.

Going alone was out of the question.

Shiromi had been watching silently, as all the questions she wanted to ask had been mentioned. She felt that she might have a chance to get along with her teammates well, and she breathed a sigh of relief, for now. Shiromi thought for a moment when Suzue asked the question, and spoke up regarding her opinions about the situation. "Well we could go in teams, since we have quite a number of people here." she spoke, scanning the group. "Although I don't mind either, I'd prefer us covering more ground if we were about to go into a new area."

--------------------------------------------------------------
Hina had been silent again, as it was quite difficult for her to speak in front of others if she wasn't familiar with them. When Shiromi spoke up, Hina looked over and nodded at her words, agreeing with her point about covering more ground. If they did split in teams, she would also be able to slowly get to know the others in the entire group, starting from her own teammates in this current mission. Thinking about teaming up, she glanced over at Yuji, hoping that she would be able to end up in a team with him. As she was much more familiar with him than the others, she felt that she would be more comfortable if she ended up in a team with him, but she didn't want to force him into it, so she could only hope.

Yuji Morimoto

Yuji snapped out of his thoughts to hear the Jonin's responses to the questions that were presented. Although the answers weren't definite, he could understand the reasons why. This is completely new territory, so it makes sense that we wouldn't be certain of everything. I just hope things don't get too dangerous... After the Jonin was finished, the shortest member of the team that was accompanied by the wolf Nightlight seemed to take the reigns. Yuji somewhat admired his confidence. When the group moved on to the subject of how to proceed, Yuji decided that he should also contribute to the conversation if he wanted to become more confident. Raising his hand to face-level, he nervously spoke his thoughts; "Y-yes, I also think it'd be better to split into teams. N-not only can we cover more ground, b-but I think it'd make it easier to get used to each others' styles if we're in s-smaller groups."

Yuji silently gulped as much of his nerves as he could manage in attempt to calm down. He was having a hard time with speaking up in front of others, but once the group's attention slid away from being directly on him he'd release a silent sigh of relief. At this point, he had just realized that being split into teams meant they'd be in 3-man cells, which meant there was a chance he'd be able to connect with Nightlight more, but the possibility of being placed in a separate team from Hinagiku (who had reciprocated his formal introduction earlier) was also a solid possibility. This made him feel conflicted, and he doubted that he'd be so lucky to have his cake and eat it too. Life's not that convenient...

Kazuki Hoshino

Kazuki was dissatisfied with the answer to his question. That said, he begrudgingly accepted that there was no changing a lack of information except to press onward. That's when the group moved on to to the discussion of groups; Oho~ Everyone is quickly agreeing to smaller teams. I'm impressed by you Miss Suzu; intentionally getting everyone to agree on splitting up so you can have more personal time with me! I don't know how you did in such a simple phrase, but that makes it even more impressive! The boy was donning his usual smug expression of self-satisfaction as he was lost in his thoughts before cuing in shortly after Yuji.

"Personally, I'm not concerned with what we do for our formation, as long as I get the chance to shine and dazzle you all with my clan's magnificence! Not that I expect any of you would complain about being able to gaze at my sparkling powers!" He delivered this line with a pure and confident smile that clearly showed that he truly believed the words he spoke.

< @Jessica2477 @DangoYumi @Lore Magus >

Hasaki looked around at everyone who spoke, and had to bite his lip to keep from speaking up at that cocky bastard Kazuki. Nightlight was pawing at the ground more and started to pace while her friend spoke up.

"I understand that a smaller team would be easier to hide." He said. "But we don't know anything about our situation, or each other for that matter. I don't know how best we'd split up, and lots would be just as bad. And what if the bandits are tougher than expected? No, I feel it better to stay together. We're a team, and I want to start us off like one." He shifted on his feet, also antsy to go.

Shiromi had been listening, and although things didn't go the way she had planned, she had no choice but to follow what Hasaki had said. At this moment Hasaki seemed to be the one who ended up naturally leading the group, and it was nice, but she had hoped that he wouldn't be too hasty when deciding on things as she could notice that he was already raring to go. She looked around the group again, and nodded towards Hasaki and Nightlight. "Alright then, I'm ready to go. Let's head out."

-----------------------------
Hina had been reserved as per usual, and stayed close to the back of the group while listening intently. She had understood that they were going together as a group in the end, and when Shiromi had mentioned that she was ready, she decided to also take a step, following what Yuji had done. "I-I'm also ready to go." she spoke, making sure that her voice was louder than usual so that others can hear her.

Suzue nodded once in acknowledgment of the plan, "Very well. My hair techniques will be great for defense, so let me position near the end of the formation so I can keep an eye on the group."

She told him. Since she wasn't sure of who else might have defensive capabilities Suzue had to plan it out assuming she was the only one who could protect them from projectiles and other jutsus. This wasn't at all the preferable outcome, but it was something at least.

Suzue yawned again, eager to take a nap already. "Let's hurry up and finish this mission. There's a lot of comfortable looking trees around here..." She said.

Yuji Morimoto

When the notion of splitting up into teams was brushed aside, Yuji was taken by surprise and let down by his wasted efforts all at once. With his shoulders now slumped, he gave a quiet sigh of surrender. Of course it'd go that way; life's not meant to be easy. What'll I do if I can't find another opportunity to speak up? With that final thought he let out yet another sigh, but then he heard Hinagiku speak up that she was ready. This made him berate his negative outlook a bit. Come on, even Hinagiku is doing her best! If you can't find a chance, then make one! Yeah! It's time to stop losing confidence! Almost immediately after this thought went through his head, one of the other teammates had spoken up about staying near the rear for defense, and his entire being tensed up and froze again. Even though he was trying to build himself up to speak out, he wasn't quite prepared for such an immediate opportunity.

After a moment of silence, the other teammate that was Yuji's complete opposite even spoke up, and now everyone was waiting on him. With a gulp to swallow his nerves on a surface level, the boy finally spoke up. "R-right, I'll be in the rear for defense as well. I-if anyone gets hurt I can help them with that too!" Almost missing his chance to add in the last point, he was proud of himself for managing to get it out before following as the group began heading out.

Kazuki Hoshino

Kazuki was a bit put off that his offer to show off his capabilities didn't receive the ecstatic reaction it usually did as his teammates moved on, but he shrugged it off. They're probably just so impatient to witness my kekkei genkai that they don't even want to waste any time. I can understand that! "Alright, then let's head out! I'll lead the group since I have the most versatile and dazzling skills! I'll make sure no one catches us off guard by blasting them away before they even get close!" He made this announcement as flamboyantly as ever, not hesitating to move to the front of the group. Yes, the sooner we get rid of the enemy, the sooner our safety is guaranteed! Brilliant plan, Kazuki!

The shining boy was halted for a moment by another teammate speaking up about their position, and although he thought it disrespectful for the boy to steal his flare he didn't show this in his own reaction since the boy was at least relaying important information. "Yes, thank you for the heads up. I'm sure we won't be in any serious danger, but we'll refer to you or Miss Hina if we get any scrapes or cuts. Now, let's head out!" He spoke with an audible difference in enthusiasm when addressing Yuji than when he turned to lead the charge, clearly trying to press onward quickly while he took the lead.
