Arc1 - Meeting of The Minds.

Arc2 - TBD

In the present modern day with technology on the rise and human complacency at the cost of social conformity and civil injustices, mankind only adds to the ever changing expanse, as a brooding truth of vigilante and self-justice weaves itself into play for human history. But, at the wake of a new incredible spectacle, a figure seen moving through the skies with the power of a god... reflections of a distant past come back to fruition as the definition of power is yet changed and challenged once again. When this ideal explodes into an unexpected flurry of impossibilities, reality as the world knows it will forever change. Earth will don a new light, but also spawns a coming darkness for the inhabitants exposed to this brave new world. Can this light of the chosen few rise to become something more? Or will society only backlash and crumble under the waking darkness?

The "Superess" has came to light. How long this being of such prowess has been on our planet or among us no one really knows, but upon her showing herself for all the public world to gawk at her spectacle, she has single handedly ushered in a new revolution of era and reality. There are those who cheer and amaze in awe of her presence, the hope and beacon of a greater understanding within their newly fueled spirits. But, there are those who also feel nothing but fear and paranoia to this goddess among men, even god among gods. Who see her as a threat and nothing more than a catalyst for utter and total destruction. The time has come for the world to be enlightened, that Superess is not, and has not been the only figure of abnatural power in this reality. The world was about to be revealed to a greater truth and understanding.

1. The main one. Respect Iwaku and its rules.

2. Any questions or intrigue about the plot or story come to me! I love hearing ideas even if we don't incorporate them.

3. OOC will be friendly and respectful. IC be extra and add flair all you'd like BUT...

4. BE REASONABLE. Realistically adapt and grow into characters and make logical choices based on who they are.

5. I do not mind if you guys subplot romance. I support it as well and will probably bring my character to it.

6. If you cannot post due to IRL or other reasons please post in consideration of everyone else. I'm interpreting this RP to go relatively fast pace wise not too speedy, so if you need assistance ask and you shall receive! And...

7. If you do fall too far behind or get in a hole you cant climb out of that doesn't mean you're done for. Unless you're intentionally a jerk or going against the tide of the plot, you can get back up to pace.

8. If you band together, or fight amongst each other IC, coordinate with each other as I will be overseeing those situations with a final outcome, but stay true to character and drama. Don't force it just because you want to.

10. IF YOU MAKE TERRIBLE, STUPID CHOICES YOU> WILL> DIE/SUFFER. Please be realistic and do not mary/gary sue or try to god your way through a situation, unless you're literally sacrificing yourself.

11. Now, if you read, accept, and understand all rules TO SEE THAT YOU PAID ATTENTION: At the end of your CS, write a sentence mentioning a quote specifically about a location in the DC Universe that your character likes.

  • This will be a fairly mature RP with themes of death, brutality, suggestive themes, drugs, grit, etc. (Have you heard of Gotham City?)
  • No mary / gary sues... for obvious reasons.
  • I want to use REAL FACE CLAIMS, Concept Art or Digital Art pics, which are basically a mix between realistic pics and cartoon like pics. Perfect examples would be like Batman here, or Superman here, and pictures like this for alter-egos or human characters. NO CARTOONISH PICS ALLOWED.
  • Do not join if you know you'll ditch or not stay committed, this is a expansive RP and everyone will matter and be important no matter who they play.
  • Be reasonable enough to know if you pick a lesser character/power you may not be able to hang with the likes of Darkseid and such. As well as knowing not to expect team ups like Teen Titans to happen before the JLA is even formed. Everything will have an organic approach.
  • It's preferred that if you play a non-powered/vigilante character you would have been working for some time in secret.
  • It's preferred that if you play a powered/meta character that you're creating an origin point for getting your powers, or just very recently getting them. There will be a few exceptions just ask me first if your character would be one depending on who you choose.
  • As I mentioned, characters may be altered in appearance and slight alteration to backstory, but be sure to keep the key events the same (Ex. Batman's death of parents can't change, but they way they died can be || Superman/Woman cannot change that they crash landed on Earth, but maybe they're Daxamite instead of Kryptonian or maybe Kara landed first and was adopted by the Kent's instead of him.. etc.)

Appearance: (Digital Art / Realistic Art only. No cartoon based pics, you will not be accepted.)

(For Example this and this ARE realistic looking and will be accepted, where this and this are on the comic/cartoon side and will not. )

Solar Battery
As a Kryptonian, Kala possesses the ability to absorb the solar energy from yellow stars. Her Kryptonian body is constantly absorbing and storing energy from Earth's yellow sun (allowing her to retain energy under roofed structures and even at night) which in turn grants her incredible powers, including superhuman strength, enhanced senses, impenetrable skin, and the ability to defy gravity.

Her body is also able to absorb the energy of a blue sun, which also grants her increased strength and various other powers (although not to the same degree as under a yellow sun).

She has the ability to physically lift impossibly massive amounts of weight. Her strength easily surpasses the Class 100 strength level (this is the ability to lift over 100 tons under normal conditions) which is the ability to lift in excess of 100 tons with absolutely no effort at all, and has no known limit. Her strength is aided in lifting/supporting the most massive objects--especially when flying--by the bio-electric force field her body produces.

The strength is usually portrayed the same way as most other characters in the Class 100 tier, but her high-end showings indicate her might may be well in excess of planetary levels.

Superess has the ability to move and fly incredibly fast. She possesses the ability to achieve speeds faster than light, although this is usually only seen in the vacuum of space as she is known to limit her velocity on Earth to prevent environmental damage. The upper limits of her speed are not quantified, but she is usually considered to be slower than that of a known force called the Speed Force.

Shes is also capable of combining speed with dexterity to pull off complicated tasks in a short time frame. In battle, she can move so fast her opponents seem much slower relative to her, creating time to avoid attacks and plan her next action. She can also move limbs at incredible speeds, allowing her to dish out dozens of strikes in a second or less. Her mind is similarly accelerated; she can process and understand vast amounts of information nearly instantly.

Vision/Optic Powers
Kala is able to see over great distances and perceive even the smallest of objects. This vision also allows her to see through the atomic structure of an object, though she is unable to see through lead.

Her physiology can convert stored solar energy into beams of highly concentrated thermal energy which can reach temperatures comparable to those produced by stars. The two beams of energy which are released from her eyes are bright red in color, but at lower temperatures can be made invisible, allowing her to work undetected.

Super Hearing
Kala has the super human ability to hear all sounds at any volume or pitch and across any distance, presumably as long as there is atmosphere to carry the sonic vibrations.

Super Stamina
Her Kryptonian physiology allows her exert to peak capacity for an undetermined amount of time. When under the light of a yellow star, she is constantly replenishing her solar reserves. In an environment without the light of a yellow star, her solar reserves are gradually expended as he exerts himself.

Superess possesses an immense degree of personal invulnerability, and is able to easily withstand bullets, missiles, bombs and other weapons without a scratch. Those without superhuman strength are more likely to hurt themselves than her by punching Superess, and even most characters who possess superhuman strength are not able to hurt her enough to take her down. Destructive power on a cosmic scale may knock her out, but she has survived such attacks and recovered from them.

While her body is charged with solar energy she is able to emit a gravitational field that enables her to defy gravity. Kala has extreme mobility while she is in flight allowing her to fight, change course, and also carry great weights. While in Earth's atmosphere Kala is able to move at supersonic speed; while in space, she can move at superluminal speeds. Kala tends to avoid moving at superluminal speeds while in a planet’s atmosphere so that she does not harm the area around him.

Super Breath / Freeze Breath
Kala has the ability to suck in a large amount of air into her lungs and either hold it within her for a long period of time or create strong forces of wind with it. She is able to control the temperature with which she expels this power.

After some research, she's found yellow sun-powered Kryptonians will be shown to live almost indefinitely.

Total Recall
Kala has the ability to instantly recall events that she pays specific attention to or that hold great emotional significance to her. When she has absorbed solar energy she has the ability to solve problems with superhuman speed.

Genius Level Intellect/Leadership
Superess is highly intelligent, with a natural IQ higher than humans. She's able to analyze and solve problems in top speed, due to her super speed. She has shown to be able to reprogram machines and apply science to her fighting. Super has invented a few things from time to time and has solid knowledge on Kryptonian and Earth technology alike. She is also a fantastic journalist and writer.

She is also a strong leader. She serves as a symbol of hope to both superhumans and the common civilian. She sometimes uses a Kryptonian technique called "Torquasm Vo," which focuses her mental discipline in tough situations. It has sometimes been used to manipulated the minds of others. The technique of Torquasm Rao allows Super to separate herself from her physical body, giving her the ability to fight on the astral plane and resist mental attacks.

Her birth begins as Kala Jor-El to renowned scientist Jor-El and his wife Lara on the alien planet Krypton. When Jor-El discovers that the planet is going to explode, he puts Kala in a spaceship heading to the planet Earth, which crashes in a field in the state of Kansas. He attempts to warn his fellow scientists of this impending catastrophe, but is dismissed as a crack-pot and laughed out of the scientific community. As a last-resort, he and his wife Lara place their infant girl in a ship and rockets her into space where she drifts for an unknown amount of time before crash-landing to Earth and is discovered by Jonathan and Mary Kent. At first they intend to place to her in an orphanage, but relent at the last moment and decide to raise her as their own, naming her “Clara” and treating her as their daughter. As she matures, great powers began to manifest, and that's when they deliver her the truth of her origins, of her nature. Who and what she is. She's not from this world, but what she can do is very much divine in purpose. They raise her with good ole southern morals and discipline, teaching her that every thing she does human or not, will ripple throughout the universe. She would have to decide the kind of woman she wanted to be, because for good or bad. When the world was finally ready for what she was, she was going to change everything.

She grew up in Smallville, Kansas on the Kent Residence, which was also the community's local farm. There she discovered and practiced to hone her abilities, having a rather difficult time connecting to human society as a youth. She was always an outcast, which didn't help her introverted tendencies whatsoever, but nonetheless, her parents taught her what it means to be good, and to be just. To love without expectation and reliance, and to have the discipline and strength to remain true to herself in times or turmoil or adverse situations. She started small, with honing her superhearing and sight, catching things around the farm and building skill with her gifts. Then as she grew, she started to help around the farm, carrying loads of bales of hay by herself and learning to manage her super speed and brain/motor processing. And then into teenage years she learned of her solar altering abilities and enhanced physical feats. As classmates saw her as a quiet weirdo, her parents saw her as the pure and sweet soul she really was. Along the way she made a scarce number of real friends who liked her for her quiet nature. She went through school, making all A's and B's because of her intellect, but could never play sports or extracurricular due to fear of her powers being exposed. She graduated as one of the top students in the nation, attending Metropolis University as a Technical Writing and Creative Writing double major, spawned from her desire to write stories about her home, her true home. And to tell of her great powers in a fictional character without being judged by society. She believed in the hope of mankind, and loved the fantasy of being a light in that hope, but she feared it would never be. She graduated Metro U and explored the world, trying to find anything of pieces of her home. She found nothing, instead seeing the world and helping in small odd jobs around the globe, anything to stay under the radar.

Growing up, she had heard about people with skills and talents that took matters into their own hands, vigilantes. Her parents reminded her that taking matters into your own hands never is the solution when rules are broken, so Clara took up her parent's disposition on vigilantes and opposed them. But, at the same time she knew she could do more to help the world, at least they were trying to do something in face of social and economical injustices. Everyday Clara fought with helping the world and remaining just another shell of a human living a normal life. But that was all about to change. The world, and unknowingly the universe was about to morph forever into a new age. The times of man and sin were over. Something else was coming. She was coming.

"All I know is... Metropolis is amazing, but Smallville will always be the greatest place on Earth."

Personality Bads:
Slight Anger issues
Distrustful (Odd way of showing it)
Lacks understanding of human boundaries.

Sun bathing
Earth customs
Her Career

Her sister (No she doesn't like her in this version.)
Cars, she cant drive yet.
Being put down
Being restricted
Being unable to fly.
Feeling chained down

Hobbies and Skills:
Being raised in Tamaranean society, Kori for all intents and purposes is totally alien to the culture of earth. But, the sensuous culture she came from had lent a hand in her finding a career upon her arrival to earth. Already a slightly trained combatant, the warrior culture also lent its hand into the transformation to earth culture. Taking up many of the hobbies of humans she is a skilled cross country runner as well as having a way with men. Her appearance and voice alone are capable of getting her whatever she desires... or into where she desires.

Her home being destroyed
Being found out

Moral alignment:
Chaotic Good (Will turn Neutral Good in time)

Minor Star Bolts (Her Hands ignite and can burn through touch.)
Enhanced physical endurance

All abilities (Will come after a crystalized period.)
  • Tamaranean Physiology: Starfire's alien physiology constantly absorbs ultraviolet radiation and converts it to energy.
    • Energy Absorption: She can also absorb the ultraviolet radiation from other life forms. She once used this application of her power to weaken a group of Kryptonians who otherwise require ultraviolet radiation to maintain their superhuman abilities.
    • Flight: Which leaves a distinctive energy contrail behind, looking as if it is coming directly from her hair. Starfire has also been stated to have flown light years through space in short amounts of time.
    • Starbolts: The solar absorption experiments performed on her by the alien Psions granted her the amazing power and ability to channel and project that same energy into destructive blasts called "starbolts". Hyperion described Starbolts as highly concentrated solar energy that possessed incredible power. Starfire also has the power and ability to unleash all her stored energy into a pseudo nova blast. It is suggested to be as hot as the sun itself and so only uses this in dire situations.
    • Superhuman Durability
    • Superhuman Strength
    • Linguistic Assimilation: She is also capable of assimilating other languages through physical contact with another person. She learned English by kissing Dick Grayson.

Background: (Character bio & History)
Earth Cycle 438... Diary Open

"It has been awhile now, looking back where have I been? I don't know how to explain it all. Audio logs are rather nice though." Kori spoke as she looked at herself in the mirror. "Happy birthday Kori..." she mumbled out. "Its been over a year now... Escape... landing..." She trailed off as she let her head hang low. The memory of the Psions was fresh. The scars though healed... still remain mentally.

Makeup running slightly she pulled herself together as she pulled her head up. Looking into the mirror once more she pushed herself from the mental pit she almost fell into. "I got away, I escaped... I survived. Not only that, but look at yourself now." She spoke knowing she may need this recording for the future. "Even in hell you manage to find the best of it. Not that this is hell... its been the opposite." Taking a seat in the bathroom she began to dry her hair. "I'm a model... on top of that I am starting to fit in." Kori continued on.

Moving her hand she began to open a picture of Richard. "English.. and friendship. I wonder what he thought when I kissed him that evening. Must have thought I was crazy." Smirking she began to giggle. "Or... he thought I was thankful. I don't know which, but he kept me from doing something I would have regretted. Well, he will have his hands full I bet. I wonder if he ever second guessed what he did for me. Probably not.. he has a good heart." she spoke her mood improving significantly. "He got you into a school, while I dont need the education it helps with the adjustment. Still really weird... at least I think so. He also got you this home."

Hands moving she pulled the picture off the smart mirror and leaned forward. Body shining she ran a hand through her hair. The pulsing stopped at her will making her put her hands up "So, you've done well and you need to remember that. End Diary." Kori finished as the recording stopped and began to link itself into her homes cloud. Getting dressed she didn't bother reapplying the makeup after washing it off. She didn't need it, at least not yet. She had a photoshoot and schoolwork. Then, maybe she would bother Rich.

"Gotham, home of crime and villainy... but its a really good place if you like modeling!"

Moral alignment: (use this)

Lawful Good (though he often strays into Chaotic Good if he has to break the law to accomplish his present task)

Peak Human Conditioning: Through intense training, specialized diet, and biofeedback treatments, The Batman represented the absolute pinnacle of human physical prowess. His physical attributes is at the natural limits far above than that of an Olympic level athlete that has ever competed. His strength, speed, stamina, agility, reflexes, senses, and endurance are at the peak of human potential. Batman began his physical and mental conditioning when he was 11 and then intense physical training and weight lifting at age 12. He had mastered full body control by the time he was 18. Wayne abstains entirely from drinking alcohol, though he presented Bruce Wayne, his alter ego, as a borderline alcoholic (he created this illusion by drinking ginger ale and pretending it was champagne). Batman's refusal to drink was directly linked to keeping his body in its absolute best. Bruce Wayne, since the age of 15, has created a strict diet to enable his body to develop and operate at its most proficient, along with biofeedback treatments (using portable/non-portable machines to stimulate muscles to contraction). Batman being able to perform amazing physical feats is due to his superior physique. He engaged in an intensive regular regimen of rigorous exercise (including aerobics, weight lifting, gymnastics, and simulated combat) to keep himself in peak condition, and has often defeated opponents whose size, strength, or other powers greatly exceeded his own. He has spent his entire life in pursuit of physical perfection and has attained it through constant intensive training and determination.

Peak Human Strength: In terms of brute strength, Batman is one of the strongest non-metahumans alive. He can break steel chains and cuffs, support a ceiling that weighed 1000lbs over his head, and bend steel metal bars with his hands. This strength also extends to his legs allowing him to jump high up and far foward without a running start. Batman has even demonstrated enough strength to punch a SWAT officer through a brick wall. He utilizes his strength/power so effectively, that a near-meta such as Deathstroke comments that Batman "hits harder than most beings with superhuman strength." During his exercise regimes, Batman regularly bench-presses well beyond 1000Ibs. Using highly effective muscle control, Batman can apply near superhuman force in his physical attacks, able to overpower the Venom enhanced Bane and Killer Croc.

Peak Human Reflexes: Batman's reflexes are seemingly superhuman, and is far superior to normal humans. He is able to quickly react to simultaneous attacks from multiple enemies and dodge rapid gunfire. Bruce's reflexes were honed to such a degree that he has caught one of Green Arrow's arrows in mid flight from behind when he tried to shoot him.

Peak Human Speed: He can run and move at speeds comparable to the finest human athletes. In combat he is extremely agile and evasive, supplementing his strength with sheer speed to defeat his enemies, he could even match the master assassin Deathstroke's superhuman speed in combat.

Peak Human Durability: His endurance and durability is at the highest peak of human potential augmented with his iron forged will power allow him to tolerate massive amount of physical pain. His muscles and bones are much more harder and denser than most other people. He is able to withstand being stabbed and shot multiple times, as well as hits from superhumans such as Killer Croc and Bane on Venom. Also Batman seems to be slightly resistant to the blunt trauma of high falls such falling a couple stories from a building.

Peak Human Stamina: Bruce's highly trained and developed body generates far less fatigue toxins than the musculature of most humans, enabling him to gain exceptional endurance and lung capacity. His stamina is comparable to that of the absolute finest human athlete. He has shown a lung capacity feat that is so great that he can hold his breath underwater for 7 minutes. In his early days he once fought in a gauntlet for 28 hours straight before collapsing from exhaustion. Batman has demonstrated exercising extensively with a rigorous training regime that lasted 1 hour, yet wasn't nearly satisfied. He can exert himself at peak capacity for a few hours before slowing down or began tiring.

Peak Human Agility: His agility is above than that of a Chinese acrobat and an Olympic-level athlete gymnast. He can coordinate his body with balance, flexibility, and dexterity. His main phase of movement is Parkour which he learned in France and uses it to scale the cities rooftops in an acrobatic manner. He is capable of completing a triple somersault.

Indomitable Will: He has no known superhuman powers, but he does have an almost superhuman "force of will". Batman's unstoppable determination, sense of discipline and morale, and strength of will make him an extremely formidable opponent. This makes him able to function while tolerating massive amounts of physical pain, and also allows him to resist telepathy or mind control.

Intimidation: It is widely known that Batman has the ability to instill fear in others, even the people that know him best are intimidated by him.

Expert Inquisitor: Batman is adept in the use of interrogation techniques, employing anything from law enforcement methods to outright torture. Several techniques have been seen, include hanging a person over the edge of a building by one leg or chaining a person upside down and beating them. He usually just plain uses his frightening appearance to get answers. "Fear is an excellent motivator" he once said.

Expert Acrobat: Proficient in gymnastics and acrobatics, to the peak of human ability. He is particularly skilled in parkour and free running.

Master Martial Artist: Batman is one of the finest human combatants Earth has ever known. He was trained around the world for years to master in several martial arts. He has mastered 127 styles of martial arts including Muay Thai, Escrima, Krav Maga, Capoeira, Savate, Yawyan, Taekwondo, Judo, Jui-jitsu, Ninjutsu, Kendo, Fencing, Kenjutsu, Kali, Bojutsu, Francombat, Boxing, Kickboxing, Hapkido, Sambo, Wing Chun, Parkour, Shorin Ryu, Silat, Chin Na, Kyudo, Aikido, Varma Ati, Jeet Kune Do, Shaolin, Ba Gua, Hung Gar, Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Kenpo, and Karate. His primary form of combat is a harmonious mixture of Jui-jitsu, Taekwondo, Judo, Muay Thai, Capoeira, Savate, Karate, Kung Fu, Boxing, Aikido, and Ninjutsu.

Weapon Master: Through his martial arts training, he has become an expert on virtually all types of weaponry. He is an exceptional swordsman as evident in his fights with Ra's al Ghul, his proficiency in Jui Jitsu can proclaim his swordsmanship skill. Proficient with most melee weapons because of his mastery of Okinawan Kobudo. He was trained and became proficient in all arms. He soon learned expanded melee weapon techniques and he has learned expanded weapon/device sciences. He still practices during his combat sessions to keep his skills intact, though he prefers unarmed combat.

Master of Stealth: His extensive Ninjutsu training has made him a master at stealth, espionage, infiltration, and sabotage. Bruce is capable of breaching very high-security facilities with ease and without being detected. Batman's stealth prowess he is capable of breaking into a top-secret base a mile under Gotham City and even the infamous Area 51 completely unnoticed.

Expert Marksman: Due in part to his training in Ninjutsu, Batman almost never misses his targets, 9/10 times he's successful. Bruce is an expert marksman that is skilled with throwing projectile weapons, archery and firearms. He has been practicing such skills since the early days of his training and is almost on par with the Green Arrow in terms of accuracy.

Genius Level Intellect: (Batman's IQ is possibly well over 200, though modern diagnosis' have pinpointed it at around 190 presently) Batman is a brilliant, virtually peerless, detective, strategist, scientist, tactician, and commander; he is widely regarded as one of the keenest analytical minds on the planet. Given his lack of superpowers, he often uses cunning and planning to outwit his foes, rather than simply "out-fighting" them.

Polymath: He has studied Biology, Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Mythology, Geography, & History. Gained degrees in Criminal Science, Forensics, Computer Science, Chemistry, and Engineering by the time he was 21. He has mastered Diverse Environmental Training, Security Systems, and illusion/sleight of hand by the time he was 23. He gained even more degrees in Biology, Physics, Advanced Chemistry, and Technology by the time he was 25. He has learned Forensic, Medical Sciences, Expanded Computer and Engineering Sciences, and Expanded Device Pool use of personal powered armor and system, database creation on underworld crime bosses, rogue's gallery foes and other supers; improved material sciences for body armor and micro-machinery by the time he was 26. Has also learned Advanced New Development in Forensic and Medical Sciences.

Master Detective: He is widely considered as the World's Greatest Detective, capable of observation, forensic investigation, and inductive and deductive reasoning of the highest caliber. Human intuition is an unlearnable trait and one of Batman's most effective tools. Given any mystery, he can arrive at any conclusions with a fraction of the data.

Multilingualism: He is able to speak English, Spanish, Japanese, German, Russian, French, Latin, Cantonese, Mandarin, and possibly more.

Master Tactician & Strategist: He commonly utilizes cunning tactics to outwit his foes. He is an excellent leader and, Batman is known as one of the (if not the greatest) strategists and tacticians in the DC universe.

Master Escapologist: He has been described as second only to Mister Miracle as an escape artist. He has been seen escaping from a posey straitjacket in less than 52 seconds, and remarked afterwards that the time was way too slow for him.

He is also known to have a Grapnel Gun, a Line Launcher, a Batclaw, and disruptor for firearms, mines, and Freeze technology. He also has specialized vents built into his suit that, when triggered, emit a specialized brand of Fear toxin (taken straight from the Scarecrow's recipe and made non-lethal) that he uses as a tool to make his targets more easy to take down and to help keep "the Batman" seen as a paranormal delusion and urban myth by the general populace at large. As a result, Batman is often seen like this by criminals.

Background: (Character Bio & History)

Let me regale you the story of a boy who grew up to be a monster. Let me tell you the tragic story, of the Batman.

When he was only eight years old, young Bruce Wayne found himself sitting in the Gotham streets, staring down at the dead bodies of his parents, Thomas and Martha, who had been brutally gunned down moments earlier by a small-time crook named Joe Chill for their valuables. Chill escaped the scene before the police could arrive and young Bruce was grief-stricken. The little boy who once expressed so much joy and wonder for the world took to staying in his room and rarely speaking a word. His caretaker and trusted friend, Alfred Pennyworth, did all he could to make the young boy comfortable, but Alfred knew that the hole in Bruce's heart left behind from that night would never be filled.

As he grew up and tried to move on with his life, Bruce found himself analyzing the city he believed he knew so well and came to the conclusion that it was a gruesome urban nightmare, where those who preyed upon the innocent were at the top of the heap, while those who struggled to survive were often molded into emulations of those who oppressed them; the same oppressors who continuously shoved their would-be successors down into the dirt in the first place. It sickened him to know that the criminal element was taking over his home and worst yet, the police and local government were seemingly aware of the problem and either didn't care, or profited from the chaos in the streets. While few existed who truly sought to save Gotham, Bruce saw how their attempts to make things better failed time and time again due to roadblocks set by those in power who sought to lose everything if the city's problems were to just go away.

After hearing about a society that specialized in making men into heroes, ready to do good in the world by learning to use every piece of their body and mind, Bruce left Gotham when he was sixteen and sought out their leader; Ra's Al Ghoul, "the Demon's Head". Under Ra's guidance, Bruce trained with the League of Assassins for nearly six years until he eventually left, realizing that rather than saving the world (and Gotham alike), Ra's sought to slaughter those who did not follow his lead and impose his own world order. As he left, Bruce engaged with the members of the League, who sought to end him for betraying Ra's. In the final conflict between himself and the Demon's Head, Bruce spared Ra's life, refusing to kill as Ra's did to accomplish his goals and re-avowing that he has always sought to preserve life rather than end it.

Upon his return to Gotham, Bruce got hard to work creating an identity for himself so that he might operate outside the law (as he had seen the corruption within the GCPD had not faltered since he had been gone), but still allow the justice system to do its work with minimal intervention. He needed to be more than a man; he needed to be an idea, a symbol that would strike fear into the hearts of criminals just as they struck fear into the hearts of the innocent they preyed upon. As he thought, Bruce remembered back to the times when he was truly, utterly afraid when he was a child, and using his newfound psychological skills, deduced that most criminals were unintelligent and as such, bore a similar mindset to that of a child. But out of all the memories he possessed, there was only one that he remembered had truly frightened him;

It was around the time when Bruce was only four years old. He was playing in the field outside Wayne Manor and had fallen through a sinkhole that led into a large cave. While Alfred went off to get Bruce's father so they could pull the uninjured boy up from the pit, Bruce was left alone to fend for himself in the dark. Then, he saw it; a figure moving in the shadows, large and as terrifying as the monsters all children feared lay beneath their beds waiting to snack on them. As it got closer, Bruce realized what the figure was; it was a Bat, followed by a swarm of its brethren, all of whom had been disturbed from their rest when the boy had fallen through the roof of their home. As they swarmed around him, fleeing the cave, Thomas and Alfred returned and pulled the terrified Bruce out from the darkness.

It was that same fear that Bruce had felt so long ago that now, he believed would become his weapon against the criminals of Gotham. So, with the aid of Alfred and Lucius Fox, his personal confidant and 'tech support' at Wayne Enterprises, Bruce Wayne went on to become "the Batman"; Gotham's greatest urban legend.

"Ladies. Gentlemen. You have eaten well. You've eaten Gotham's wealth. Its spirit. Your feast is nearly over. From this moment on...none of you are safe."

Abilities: (Even if your character hasn't gotten powers yet, still list them)

Peak Human Conditioning: Due to years of intense and extensive training with Batman, Richard Wayne is at the natural peak of human capability (almost on Batman's level). He has displayed the peak human strength, speed, stamina, agility, reflexes, and endurance because of his training at a young age.

Peak Human Strength: Robin possesses enough strength to break a holographic construct Bane's back, throw a refrigerator and use a bed as a weapon with effort. He had even been able to damage Blockbuster. Dick can easily lift a man with one hand, flip around with a obese grown man on his shoulder with no strain, and throw KGBeast through a concrete wall. His greatest feats of strength were breaking through titanium legs, snap a Superhuman Talon's knee tendons with a single kick, and supporting over 1000 lbs of rubble over his head to save people from a burning building.

Peak Human Speed: Wayne's speed is at the peak human level, able to keep up with and even surpass his mentor in speed. He has been said to be faster than Batman. He is capable of sprinting speeds of approximately 30 mph.

Peak Human Agility: Dick possesses peak-athlete equilibrium, balance, flexibility, dexterity, and bodily coordination well above than most Olympic-level athletes. He is one of the 3 people able to do a quadruple backflip and one of the world's finest human athletes. His agility also enables him to possess gymnastic and acrobatic prowess, Dick also can survive at heights that would even concern the likes of Superess and Starfire.

Peak Human Reflexes: Dick can evade several attacks to a degree and dodge multiple rapid gunfire bullets at near point blank range. He possesses enough skill to detect a Sniper bullet with concentration.

Peak Human Stamina: He is able to function for up to 4 days straight with no sleep[167] and is capable of holding his breath for 7 minutes from training with Batman. As a teen he has been shown to intensely train for approximately 1 hour before the build-up fatigue toxins begin to impair him.

Peak Human Endurance: Dick's muscles and bones are more tolerable to damage than average humans, he possessed endurance similar to his mentor. He is also survive a shot from a .32 pistol that only grazed to the back of his head and continue fighting.

Master Acrobat: Wayne is a prodigious natural athlete, possessing a peak human level of agility/acrobatic skills. He is generally regarded as the greatest human acrobat in the DC universe. Batman himself is an incredible athlete in agility, but even he gives the advantage in that area over to Robin. As he is the only person on Earth who can do the quadruple somersault (formerly one of three, the other two being the esteemed Flying Graysons of Haley's Circus). Wayne is one of the world's best human acrobats.

Indomitable Will: Like his mentor, Wayne has a very strong will. He is able to resist Scarecrow's potent fear toxins, resist and overcome mind control.

Intimidation: He is skilled enough to get Scarecrow, who only fears Batman, to talk and, during his time as Batman, was able to contain a riot in Arkham Asylum.

Genius Level Intellect: Being trained by the Dark Knight himself in various fields, Richard Wayne is shown to have a naturally high level of intelligence, though not as high as Batman's own. He was intelligent enough to build his own "Pheonix Bike", build and program a Tech Glider, and also mentioned he can fool a polygraph.

Master of Stealth: Due to his training with Batman and his time as a member of the League of Assassins, he is a master at stealth, espionage, infiltration, and sabotage. Dick is capable of breaching very high-security facilities with ease and without being detected.

Expert Marksman: Wayne is skilled in throwing modified Shuriken (Wing-Dings) to hit thugs at a medium distance, despite occasionally giving them head-starts and even disarm others with his wingdings. He is also skilled with firearms, as he was trained by Batman and Ra's Al Ghoul to do so.

Weapon Proficiency: He has displayed high expertise with various weapons including Shuriken (Wing-Dings and Batarangs), throwing knives, paired staves, and swords.

Expert Tactician: Richard Wayne was taught in various fields by Batman and as a result, is a capable tactician. In addition to that, he is skilled in reading the body motions of others, using this skill to aid in defeating multiple armed opponents and anticipate an opponent's next move.

Expert Hacker: He is skilled enough to hack into the Batcave's emergency override codes and often practices by hacking into security systems of large companies (though he discards the information he collects unless he finds a reason for Batman and Robin to intervene).

Master Detective: Wayne is a world class detective on par to the likes of Batman. He was able to solve a riddle by the Riddler before Batman himself even figured it out before becoming Robin and has been shown to solve mysteries and cases in a speed that even impresses his mentor. Bruce has even commented that he was able to solve 4 cases in "America's Most Wanted" in a single morning and solved a homicide case that went unsolved for 14 years.

He has effectively combined the martial arts he has mastered into a unique harmonious style that suits his strengths. This makes him one of DCs top tier martial artists.

Multilingualism: Having had the finest education as Bruce Wayne's ward, he speaks with extreme fluency in English, Spanish, Japanese, German, Russian, French, Swahili, Mandarin, Cantonese and has some knowledge of Romany and the alien language of Tamaran (though he doesn't realize it's alien).

Expert Leader: He is also a brilliant and experienced strategist with superlative leadership skills. Additionally, Dick's efforts to remain in contact with other heroes makes him a master at rallying, unifying, and inspiring the superhero community, a skill in which he has surpassed his mentor.

Hearing: Richard has exceptional hearing. He is presently the only Robin ever allowed to fight with a hood, since he proved he could fight without seeing anything. He is capable of beating up his opponents just by listening to how they move.

Batarangs, smaller shuriken-like "Wing Dings", regurgitant gas (tear gas mixed with an additive agent to induce vomiting) pellets, smoke capsules. His right gauntlet contains a 100,000 volt stun gun, although his preferred weapons are two shatterproof polymer Eskrima sticks which can be connected to form a bostaff. Richard also carries with him the same sword he used in his final fight against Ra's Al Ghoul, though he vows to never kill with it (only to seriously wound at worst, but primarily for self-defense).

Background: (Character bio & History)

Long ago, back before Bruce Wayne became Batman, he trained with the League of Assassins to hone his body and mind for his eventual crusade against the criminals of Gotham. During this time, Bruce met the daughter of Ra's Al Ghoul, Talia, and the two fell in love. They were nearly equaled in every way; their strength, their agility, and of course, their wit and intellect. Ra's saw the potential within Talia to one day take over the League when the time came where his Lazarus Pit would no longer be able to revive him, but he believed that Bruce was meant to be the true heir to his throne and did all he could to play into their blossoming romance. Eventually, Talia and Bruce found themselves spending more time alone with one another in the privacy of Talia's bedroom rather than on the battlefield honing their skills, as they became nearly inseparable. But when the day came when Bruce's training was meant to finish, Talia overheard her father explaining how he planned to ravage Gotham, cleansing the city of all who chose to live there as his first step towards worldwide conquest. Appalled at this revelation, as she had always believed that the League was meant to protect the world rather than control it, she brought this information to Bruce and begged him to run away with her so they could be together, free from both Gotham and the League. However, Bruce refused to back down and after he confronted Ra's, he left the League with Talia and helped her go into hiding.

Eight months later in a little farming town in Spain, Talia was found by the League. Ra's had been searching for her ever since Bruce "stole her away from him", but to his surprise, he saw her belly swollen with child; Bruce's child. The day they had left the League, she learned she was pregnant and, though she had attempted to tell Bruce since the day she found out, none of her messages had reached him. Later, she discovered it was through those messages that her father had found her, as the League's members had intercepted each letter before it could reach Wayne. So, unable to fight and fearing for the safety of her child, Talia allowed herself to be taken in by the League and soon gave birth to her son, Richard.

Having since given up on making Bruce his new successor, Ra's set his sights on little Richard and forced the same intense training upon him that Bruce had endured for years. Talia was imprisoned in a small cell that she and Richard called 'home' and whenever Richard was taken away for training, Talia was restrained so she could not fight back against those who came between her and her child. Though Richard grew up resentful of his grandfather, he learned compassion and love from his mother, who spoke words of hope to him that one day they would escape and Ra's and the League would suffer. Within the cell was also a television, which Talia and Richard often watched, grateful whenever they would hear a report of 'the Gotham Bat', as it reaffirmed their beliefs that if one man could take on the League, then so might they.

By the time Richard was ten, he had reached the near-peak physical and mental skill that his father had achieved so many years before. As a final test, Ra's entrusted his grandson with a simple task; to track down and kill the Batman. Only with the blood of his father on his hands would Richard be allowed to inherit Ra's empire, but Richard knew it would only lead to his demise. He had seen his grandfather's madness manifest itself further as he re-entered the Lazarus Pit, each visit becoming shorter than the last. Richard knew that Ra's would not- could not give up control over the League now, as his mind was fragmented and he deliriously believed that he would be immortal and that none could truly succeed him.
As an act of defiance, Richard agreed to leave for Gotham, but broke his mother out of her cell that evening so they could escape. He had drugged Ra's' wine at dinner with a sleeping agent that he knew would not last long, but believed it would surely give Talia and himself enough time to escape the League's grasp and make way for Gotham to live with his father. But Ra's had predicted the boy's treachery and as they were on the cusp of escape, Ra's plunged his blade through Talia's heart, killing her on the spot. Overcome with rage and grief at the loss of his mother, Richard fought with his grandfather, eventually winning against the weakened Ra's, who commanded that Richard finish him off. But, believing in the morals of his mother and father, Richard refused to kill Ra's, instead choosing to break every bone in his body and leaving him to suffer in agony, knowing the League would throw Ra's back into the Pit before he could die.

Taking his mother's corpse with him and burying it in an unmarked grave so Ra's and the League could not find her, Richard boarded the first flight to Gotham and went to find his father. But rather than finding a determined man who's hope outweighed his fear, Richard was met with the broken shell of a man who had lost a dear friend. It was not apparent to him at this time, but as Richard would soon learn, Bruce's ward, Jason Todd, had just been murdered by the villainous Joker. Although Bruce did not initially believe Richard when he first introduced himself, Richard told his story and even prompted Bruce to undergo a blood test to prove that he was truly his biological son. The tragedy of Todd's death hung over Bruce like a guillotine waiting to come crashing down and end his sorrow, leaving Richard, who was also grieving the loss of his mother, without the father he hoped would guide him to a better life.

Though Richard quickly formed a close bond with Alfred, Wayne's trusted butler and adopted father, who he saw as the grandfather that Ra's Al Ghoul could never hope to be. Alfred knew that the two of them were suffering and as a result, tried to help Richard connect with his father on an emotional level as well as a personal one, but many of these attempts seemingly failed the deeply depressed Bruce.

However, one night while he knew that Batman was out on patrol, Richard decided to tag along, using a self-made vigilante outfit to keep his amenity. As he followed Bruce, who was tracking an underground drug ring headed by the Penguin, Richard did his best to remain hidden while also aiding his father as much as he could. Eventually, Bruce found himself being overwhelmed by Penguin's forces, at which point Richard entered the fray and made short work of the goons. Backed into a corner with no way of escape, Penguin sent out one of his hired goons, Slade Wildson, otherwise known as "Deathstroke", to finish off Batman. Bruce was still injured from before, so Richard took Deathstroke on by himself, much to the assassin's shock and displeasure (as he put it "If the Bat cannot fight me, what makes you, a child, think you can do better?"). About three minutes later, Wilson was laid out on the floor with three cracked ribs, a broken nose, and the shame of knowing he was taken down by a ten year old. Penguin was soon apprehended and Bruce and Richard went home.

Bruce let Richard have it, explaining how he could have died acting like he did, while Richard protested that if Bruce had been alone, he would have died. Though Bruce didn't want to admit it, he knew that deep down, Richard was right; in some way, Bruce wanted to let himself die, but Richard stopped him before he could make a mistake. Though his grief over Todd remained, Bruce offered to train Richard if he was to continue fighting crime in Gotham alongside him, to which Richard agreed, but only if his father saw him as an equal rather than a sidekick. Together, they trained day and night, working together to unlock Richard's true potential, until the day came when he took up the mantle of Batman's fallen ally for himself.

Ready to aid his father in his crusade, knowing his mother would want him to watch over Bruce, Richard became the second Robin; the Dark Prince and heir to the Bat's Throne.

"We all look for meaning behind the tragedies that hit us. And sometimes the meaning's there. But sometimes, terrible things just happen. No sinister plots. No secret societies. They just happen, and there's nothing you can do to stop it."

Name: Jaime Reyes

Alias: Blue Beetle

Age: 18
Gender: Male
Height: 5’7”
Weight: 145 lbs
Occupancy: Uber Eats driver

Personality Goods:
Articulate | Charismatic | Daring | Gallant
Personality Bads:
Argumentative | Cold | Cynical | Impulsive
(All) Animals | Cars | Coffee | Robin Hood (the story)
Bullies | “The Man” | Inequality | The “better-than-thou”

Hobbies & Skills:
Jaime loves nothing more than cars and has wanted to work at his father’s garage for years; his father refuses to hire him despite his skill in the trade because he wants Jaime to finish school, unaware that Jaime actually dropped out. Jaime is an incredibly skilled driver, and has even been involved in street racing, though he only shows up when he’s seriously strapped for cash. Besides cars, he is also an incredibly talented baseball player (pitcher), and was a shoo in for a sports scholarship into college prior to bonding with the Scarab, and the subsequent academic woes brought forth due to his heroic responsibilities.

Being a disappointment to his parents. Ending up in jail. Not having a place in the world.

Moral Alignment: Chaotic Good.

Khaji Da - The Blue Beetle Scarab grafts itself onto the spine of its host and grants it a host of powers, including: access to its Artificial Intelligence, Network Connection, Concealment, access to the Blue Beetle Armor & Reach Weaponry, Superhuman Strength & Agility, Flight & Antagonistic Adaptation. The power of the Blue Beetle is limited only by its human host. More details here.

Maybe the Scarab didn't give Ted Kord any powers because... he was good.
Maybe something inside of me... something not good... activates the armor.

Jaime Reyes is a first generation Mexican-American living in El Paso, Texas. He was a baseball ace, and a relatively normal high school student. His father ran a garage, his mother was a paramedic and his little sister was a brat. Despite Jaime’s talent in baseball, he was never a studious child, and soon found himself kicked from the baseball team (and a shot at a college scholarship) due to mediocre grades. Depressed, Jaime began running with the wrong crowd despite his friends’ distress. He stopped skating and got into car racing, and soon enough he was middle-manning drug deals for “the homies”. During this time, he made a name for himself in the street racing circuit, and even won a 2005 Subaru Impreza in a bet.

One day, out of pure coincidence as he was transporting “some product”, he witnessed the explosion of a building. Getting up after being sent flying off his skateboard from the shockwave, he found an eerie item: a beetle carved out of some sort of blue material. Without thinking, Jaime picked the Blue Beetle up and fled the scene (assuming being found there by the police would bring nothing but trouble). That night, as he slept, the Blue Beetle grafted itself onto his spine (in accordance to its programming), but was unable to overpower Jaime’s personality. Thus, Jaime gained access to the powers and abilities of the Reach and the Khaji Da, and kept the free will to use those powers for good.

Ever since obtaining the powers of the Blue Beetle, Jaime Reyes began to test out his powers. At first he would use them for leisure, but surely he would soon find himself completely immersed into the vigilante scene, he even saw himself in a newspaper one day “Masked Vigilante Saves the Day” said the headline. Reading the positive thoughts and reviews he found online on social media, Jaime made the decision to not step back in school and do vigilantism full-time. Now he lives in a shoddy apartment in downtown El Paso, and gets money on the side by driving for Uber Eats. However, he is still unaware of the full breadth of power that is available through Khaji Da, since he is learning of his abilities on the fly.
