General Information

Welcome to the OoC for Negai-bu! S1.

Negai-bu! takes place at Hanazawa Academy, where the students and faculty often leave wishes at a shrine to be granted by their local wish god(dess). No one knows whether or not the deity truly exists, but it's something they hold on to anyway; it's something to put their faith in. One day, a group of students, who all happen upon the shrine at the same time, encounter the wish goddess, whose sprawled out half naked eating a bag of chips and playing video games. Having grown fed up with human demands, she's decided to take a break. Unfortunately, this means not meeting her quota, and subsequently, losing her job.

To circumvent this, the wish goddess, who goes by Fuyomi, opts for the group to grant wishes in her stead. Albeit reluctantly, everyone in the group eventually comes around, and the Wish Club is born. This roleplay follows their misadventures in granting wishes to the best of their human abilities, all while maintaining complete secrecy, as if anyone were to find out they'd been the ones granting wishes, Fuyomi would lose her job and be spirited away from the school.

"Japan is wonderful! Ah-ah-ah! Please call me Montmorency-san!"

Name:
Montmorency, Melissa

Age:
16

Sex:
Female

Background:
Montmorency is not Japanese. Rather, she is from France.

Montmorency's mother died when she was very young, as such, she had mostly been raised by her single Nobleman father. Her father eventually fell in love with a widowed Japanese woman with a daughter - a woman he had met while reattending university, and as of one year prior to the events of Negai-bu, married her.
That was the start of Montmorency's more complete family life. Her newfound dual-citizenship and her father's interest in learning about her stepmother's origins lead her to land in Japan for the first time, just in time for her first year of high school.

Now, her little sister is attending the same high school and she had survived this year. What events will unfold after this?

Personality:
Montmorency isn't the brightest of bulbs, but she isn't the dimmest of creaks either. Montmorency is a good-hearted person who never means harm, but she might cause it with her lack of cultural understanding. Montmorency has a habit of sticking to the ways she has learned in England, but will try her best, and occasionally fail, to do things the Japanese way. In fact, she had prayed to Fumiyo in a more Christian fashion than a typical Shinto fashion.
Montmorency tries so hard to integrate, she has been insisting that others call her by her last name, which can cause quite a mouthful. She also isn't too fond of being called 'Melissa' due to this, but doesn't have such problems outside of Japan.

NAME: Lucifer Marlo Lastrange

AGE: 16

SEX: Male

PERSONALITY: In all manners, Lucifer is your typical trickster, playful and mischievous. He loves to play pranks on unsuspected victims. They're his favorite. Still, Lucifer isn't just a trickster, he's also very smart. Which can be bad if he ever figures out he can mix his smarts with his pranks. Lucifer can get most answers right on any quiz, as long as he knows the subject and grade level. He loves puzzles too. Kind of a challenge for him. When he does his puzzles he feels free from his worries, that and it's a distraction. Distracted is another thing about him. Anything can distract him. A butterfly, cool it's pretty. A cat, sweet he likes cats. Clouds, hey that one looks like a bunny. Anything can distract him.

BACKGROUND: Born in Britain Lucifer had a different life before he came to Japan. His parents were very formal and expected him to be the same but, he ended up falling from the wrong side of the branch. His younger years he spent mainly playing with the other kids and spacing out in class. Lucifer wasn't the brightest of people and his parents would put him in help classes to catch up. They never worked, in fact, they did the opposite. The people in these classes caused Lucifer to act more differently then his parents wanted. He caused trouble and played pranks on the other kids. Eventually, his parents moved to Japan for a better job opportunity.

Now in his teens, Lucifer is still the same, playing tricks on whoever wrongs him. Still, he does take his studies seriously. He doesn't want to be a delinquent like everyone thinks she will be. So, every year so far he's ended school with A's and B's. Lucifer does have one setback though, his forgetfulness. He's working on it though.

@Crow, which France?

@Lulunopia, with how much more illegal drug usage is in Japan than in the US (where we practically give it out like candy nowadays), it would be highly unlikely that Lucifer would be able to maintain his stoner lifestyle. I don't have problems with him being a former addict, but active usage throughout the roleplay would raise too many eyebrows from both staff and other students for him to maintain himself as an integral part of the story we're aiming to tell. The prankster bits and such are good. We do need a trademark juvenile. Just not too juvenile.

I'll fix it!

I'll fix it!
Thanks! Normally it wouldn't be an issue, stoner characters are fun as shit to play with, but just doesn't fit well in this setting.

Lilliputvaniasaurus How many Frances are there?

Yeah, I knew that, already fixed.

Name:
Tamaki, Junko

Age:
16

Sex:
Female

Background:
Junko is the only child of two loving parents. Spoiled as a child, Junko was allowed to do whatever she wanted when she wanted. This led to her parents eventually purchasing her a Wii. That was the pinnacle point of her existence. For it was thanks to that specific video game console that she found and fell in love with Monster Hunter Tri. Hours and hours she spilled into the game. Unlocking all the armor sets, cooking meat (So Tasty), choping off tails, and so much more. She was born again when Monster Hunter Tri G was released on the 3DS.

While her parents were not entirely supportive of their little girl's obsession, they could not bring themselves to take away her joy. Two years ago, Junko's father received a overseas job transfer. Before he left, he made Junko promise to graduate from school and work towards college. Even though she agreed, Junko still spends most of her time either on her Switch or at home with her PlayStation 4.

Personality:
Junko is obsessive over Monster Hunter. She lives, breaths, and thinks constantly about her gaming. She's a perfectionist and will be thrilled to converse about the games. Unfortunately this translates to her being dismissive about anything other than Monster Hunter. Additional Junko is often very tired, thanks to the late night gaming sessions.

Approved! I can imagine her and Fuyomi going on and on about Monster Hunter at some point, maybe doing a little bit of slacking together.

Just sit tight now. One more applicacion and I'll see about getting to work on an IC thread.

Indeed! One question I have is since this is in Japan, should I continue to use the Japanese game titles and monster names? Or since I'm writing in English should I reference the monsters by their English names?

I'd go with the English ones, just for the sake of understanding. Then again, gotta wonder how many of who all else is here knows the Monsters of Monster Hunter.

Name:
Akiyama, Haru☆

Age:

16☆

Sex:

Male☆

Background:

Haru grew up in Japan, he's familiar with the lifestyle. Little Haru grew up in a safe environment with his grandmother. Well as safe as it could get. When his mother died his father sold the house and decided to move in with Haru's grandmother. Most night's Haru's father wouldn't come home and when he did he'd be drunk and smelt like perfume. This was much to his grandmother's dismay. Haru still came to love his father- It's all he's ever known as "parenting" other than the love provided by his grandmother. The lifestyle and lesson he was taught included the following, "Value family over everyone or everything else." Haru has a hard time disobeying the wishes of his father despite the lack of adoration he should of felt from his fatherly figure. His older brother despite his "cool mature" facade displayed when it came to his younger brother- Haru grew up at his brother's mercy. His brother liked to treat Haru as some sort of doll.

Some days Haru found himself with nothing else to wear the rest of his clothes dirtied or hidden away- Dressed up in a tuxedo to school instead of his proper uniform. Other days he'd have paint and dirt smudged all over his clothes and face on a school morning. Due to the many interceptions created by his brother, Haru was seen as the "less superior" brother and was compared to him numerous times.

Personality:
Honest || Laid Back || Calm || Sarcastic
Haru is a pretty reserved male. He chooses his words carefully, but a majority of the time they come out pretty sarcastic. He has a pretty calm demeanor except for a large amount of times he sticks out his tongue before making an exit. Haru can be pretty careless at times, rather than fight back he'd endure the punches and simply brush off the incident. On the other hand a "bad" trait he picked up as a child was the need to make other's happy. Haru doesn't know how to properly handle someone who cries but when they're upset he's relentless with even stupid techniques to turn the frown upside down. He can be quite the "captain obvious" at times in order to process things himself. Despite his lack of motivation he can pick up on a mood fairly quickly. On the other hand when he strongly desires something... He can be quite determined.

Theme Song:

☆ He owns a small abnormally fluffy dog named Nyoki

Looks good! All we're waiting on now is Vio. I'll have an IC up either tomorrow or the day after, as I'm off work those two days (thank god!).
