Yo, Smudge up in here. CS and Race sheet a goooo!
Name: Leay Fan
Age: 2 years and 4 months
Sex: Hermaphrodite
Gender: Female
Class: Magical Fey
Race: Jeai'Jahn
Appearance:
Stands at 1'5"; 1'10" counting her dandelion.
Personality: Leay Fan is a tricky, quirky plant girl. With her overly childish and playful attitude, she thrives off of the "harmless" practical jokes she plays on others she meets, both stranger and friend alike, which is common for her species and her deep racial ties to fey magic. She does not have much practice interacting with humans, so her inexperience leads to strange, often random conversations and pranks that go over the line of simply innocent jokes. While she does have her annoying side, she does have a flair for pizazz and attention, striving to gain a level of authority within her domain and circle of friends as well as respect from others despite her terribly small stature and frail physique. Currently taking up residence in one of the TJA garden, she has taken a maternal role towards the fauna grown there and of course the weeds that naturally sprout from Leay Fan's grove.
History: Having been alive for only a little over two years, her naturally invasive and territorial species has coded into her mind the need to settle down and find a place to live her naturally short life span. Having grown from a tiny seed on the floating school that is TJA (although how her seed reached a magical flying school so high in the air, even she doesn't know), without any other Jaei'Jahn around threatening to populate the island, she can settle down without the fear all other Jaei'Jahn share: searching her whole life for a new territory safe for settling down. Having just finished growing and erupted from the earth about a few months ago, she hasn't interacted with too many creatures and has taken to tending to the gardens she found sprawled across the campus site, fostering her grove that has now reached a sizeable area and is dangerous for unwary humans and even dangerous magical species.
Other: She has a deep seated fear of fire, as it is one of the most widely used tools to destroy her species, as they are labeled a very dangerous, and very invasive species. Jaei'Jahn
Race: Jaei'Jahn
Ambassador: Smudge
Lifespan: 5-7 years.
Jaei'Jahn, a magical race of plant-based fey live for only a good 5-7 years (although they don't sprout out of the ground until age 2) and grow up to a foot and a half in height. This race of sentient dandelion-folk, or Dandy-folk as they call themselves, comes in a variety of green hues. They are known for their leafy complexion with jagged dandelion leaves for hands and miniature grass blades for feet. As a species, they are tricky, cunning, and coy by nature. They get nutrients from sunlight and the dirt below, not needing to eat like other creatures. Although not as fragile as normal plants, they are naturally afraid of fire as they are flammable and are extremely weak, relying on growing hundreds of clones to do the heavy lifting for them. Heavily territorial, two Jaei'Jahns cannot live in the same zone, as the rule is "first come, first serve" as some Jaei'Jahn may spend their whole life finding a free zone only to die at the hands of villagers bent on exterminating them, or natural hazards.
Maturing at 2, their single goal in life is to plant themselves in single spot (usually the site where their seed was first planted). When they find a site, they burry themselves during the night hours and the next morning a magical grove sprouts forth that acts to defend them. The longer they "cultivate" their grove, the lusher and more dangerous it gets, becoming overgrown with thorns, vines, and slowly into more lethal, sentient plants and magical weeds that attack on site. Not sleeping (burying themselves) within the center of their grove for over 48 hours causes it to wither and die, as they then must find another site to settle down.
The most iconic feature of a Jeai'Jan's grove is the invasive swarm of dandelions that creates an incredible infestation of weeds within a huge radius leaving not a single spot of ground visible. If left unattended, the weeds can grow to cover a large city and can rise up to waist level if not higher. Furthermore, these weeds will sprout on areas where plants shouldn't grow, like on walls, atop water, and worst, on people! For this reason, Jaei'Jan are known as a truly devastating species and are sought out and destroyed on sight by farmers and villagers along the country side, as a single Dandy-folk can destroy crops, drain the soil of all nutrients, and make lands unlivable for humans and animals alike. Only by killing, preferably burning, the original will the weeds magically wither away and the grove crumble.
Jaei'Jahns each have a single magical dandelion flower growing atop their head; this flower can magically mature into an iconic white seed head in an instant, and by simply plucking it (which regrows just as fast), they can blow on the seeds, dispersing the seeds that float forth as if a breeze was carrying them. The seeds can be used as either a defensive mechanism, that upon contact causes others to break into an uncontrollable fit of laughter, and in that fit, if accidently inhaled, causes a violent sneezing fit as well, constantly alternating between giggling and sneezing! Utterly harmless, this is the iconic prank of this coy yet cunning race.
The seeds, if they instead reach a surface such as the ground or the floor, grow into a horde of flowerless, identical clones of near-mindless Jaei'Jahn. Their primary function is to help the small Jaei'Jan; they cannot do more than understand simple and follow simple commands, such as scout new sites free of predators to settle or do minor jobs that alone would be impossible. With a lifespan of only 2 to 3 hours, they act as great minions that in a short while can cover a great amount of ground or scatter and help the original Jaei'Jahn escape from danger.
The ultimate purpose of this flower though is, towards the final months of their life, is to grow their single flower into a massive seed head whose seeds are carried across the continent to grow new Jaei'Jahn elsewhere, and ending the Jaei'Jahn's life.
