Seelie_Unseelie.JPG

There once was a time when both courts and the human world use to hang lightly in the Balance. That was till one day A dark Fae named Mab decided amongst her fellow fae, that she could no longer live by the Light court rules. So she and a half of the original court split for the underground and became known as the dark court. Ever since that fate full day there has been two courts known as the Seelie Court and Unseelie Court.

The Seelie court is well known as the light Court, Summer and spring, fall amongst this category. They are the well humored Fae, they tend to not lead humans to far astray and play harmless tricks on them. They are the Fae, who shall lead you into adventure by accident yet still mean you no harm. They will grant you a wish but be careful even the best intention wishes could be sent ary by these little devil's.

Sometimes this court was called the ‘Blessed Ones,’ the Seelie were often depicted as a procession of brilliant light riding on the night air. The Seelie Court, as a group, would often use these excursions to find those in need of help. The Seelie were also prone to a great deal of mischief, especially when bored. However, their pranks rarely caused true harm, for the Seelie are really very fond of humans.

The Code of the Seelie Court

Like many human courts, the Seelie Court had its own code of conduct, a code which all of the Seelie had to abide by. This code was:

Death Before Dishonor: A member of the Seelie Court would protect his or her honor to the death. Honor was the single source of glory for the Seelie, the only way to attain recognition. A true Seelie would rather have died than live with personal dishonor, and would never bring dishonor to another of the Seelie.

Love Conquers All: For the Seelie, love was the perfect expression of the soul. It transcended all other things. Though romantic love was considered to be the highest and purest form of love, platonic love was also encouraged.

Beauty is Life: Beauty was one of the first tenants of the Seelie Court. To belong, a faery had to be beautiful, and all beauty was to be protected. The Seelie were known to go to war to protect beauty, whether it was a beautiful person, place, or thing.

Never Forget a Debt: This tenant worked in two ways. The Seelie were bound by their code of honor to repay any debt owed as soon as was possible. This included both favors and insults. The Seelie would repay a favor in a timely fashion. At the same time, they would exact vengeance almost immediately.

The Unseelie Court, the Dark court, Winter and Fall, fall amongst this court. These fae are dark and "evil". They have no care for the human race. In fact they have a great and utter distance for any human. They we're even unloyal to one another.

The Unseelie Court or Unblessed Court contains the most malicious, malevolent and evil of the faeries, and a number of monsters of horrible appearance and fearsome abilities as well. They comprise the Slaugh, or The Host, the band of the unsanctified dead who fly above the earth, stealing mortals and take great pleasure in harming humans.

Often called the ‘Unblessed Ones,’ the Unseelie were depicted as a dark cloud riding upon the wind from where their unnerving cackles and howls can be heard. Though not necessarily evil, they were far from kind. These unsavory characters tended towards evil and were often malignant. Some Scottish legends claim that the Unseelie were fallen Seelie, those who could not live up to the strict standards of chivalry of the shining court. They have no method of reproduction, so they enslave mortals whom they think would never be missed and carry them along to become one of them. The Unseelie Court was almost always out to harm, or at least bedevil and trick, humankind.

The Code of the Unseelie Court

Like many human courts, the Unseelie Court had its own code of conduct, a code which all of the Unseelie had to abide by. The details of this code were:

Change is Good: The Unseelie firmly believed that security was an illusion. They considered chaos to be the ruling force in the universe, and accepted that they had to adapt and change to survive.

Glamour is Free: Glamour was the magick of the Daoine Sidhe. Both the Seelie and Unseelie possessed its power. However, the two Courts had differing opinions over its use. The Unseelie believed that to have power and not to use it was near to sin. They used their power for whatever they saw fit.

Honor is a Lie: The Unseelie placed no stock in the ideals of honor. Instead, they pursued their own self-interests vigorously. The Unseelie felt as if truth could be only be reach through a devotion to self, not a devotion to others.

Passion Before Duty: Passion was considered to be the truest state of being. The Unseelie acted without thought on pure instinct and passion.

Now as mentioned above both court's have the magic of Glamour. Glamour is a type of far magic that can conceal anything from the human eye. Can make them see what they want to see instead of what is truly in front of them. Most humans are to stupid to see past the glamour. How ever there are few who can see the fae for what they are. These people are called the ones with the sight.

The Sight? You might ask, well the sight means not even Glamour can fool these humans. It is a rare gift and most humans who have it can Die if they let on they know. Some have had their eye's gouged out so they could no longer see. Their sight was taken from them. It is a very gift that 1% of the human population carries.

Now how do you keep these dark entities from entering your house? You ask. Well I will tell you all Fae have one weakness in common. That is Iron and salt. Salt can not be crossed by magic. It stops a faes magic instantly. And Iron is there weakest point. They would can get Iron sickness from just being around Iron to long.

Iron sickness?Oh well it is the thing that weakens a fae. It can make them sick or kill them. Only way they will live is if they are given the antidote in time.

Fae inculde but are not limited to

Valkyrie: Valkyrie are also known as death angels.
They are creatures who take the dead to wherever their resting place is. They do however have the power to kill anyone who needs to be killed, and are "immortal". When triggering their powers, wings spurt from behind them and their face turns into a skeleton's face. It is a petrifying gaze, killing anyone who stares into their eyes for too long. Upon death they are reborn as a small child.
Weaknesses - Susceptible to Magic, Iron will kill them

Banshee: Banshees are humanlike creatures. They look just as if they're human.

Banshees are essentially humans, although their screams, can do a matter of things. They can cause ear piercing sounds to shoot through people and hurt them or stun them. The worst thing they can do though is foretell deaths. If a banshee wails long enough with the intent focus of someone dying, their death will soon happen.
Weaknesses - Death, Earplugs

Succubus:
Succubus are human creatures.
They are predators on sexual energy, as they suck your life force out of you with your sexual energy. They are also able to heal if injured by sucking the life force out of someone. They also have the power to convince someone, by touching them though. If there is no bodily contact succubi have no powers.
Weaknesses - Gags, Emeralds, Iron

Siren/Mermaid:
Mermaids are half human half fish creatures.
They are found in salt water usually, but can be found in rivers and lakes. They have the powers of singing, enchanting the listeners to do their bidding. The song of one mermaid can enchant one person, although a whole pod of mermaids can enchant thousands.
Weaknesses - Iron

Vampire:
Vampires are dead humans, to stay alive they need to drinkblood.
Unlike legends, they cannot turn into bats. They instead have increased speed, traveling places in milliseconds. They have the ability to "compel" humans, making them do whatever the vampire says. Vampires are known to be cowards though, hiding behind humans that attack for them. Some vampires can get rid of their weakness to sunlight if a witch helps them.
Weaknesses - Stakes, Iron, silver

Werewolf:
Werewolves are a half man, half wolf creature.
Unlike most legends, they have the power to transform at will, it's quick and not painful. Although if they transformed by will before a full moon, that full moon they are powerless. If they don't transform by will before the full moon, then the full moon will make them extremely powerful, but they don't have a choice they will turn that night.
Weaknesses - Silver, Fire

Witch:
Witches are the ones who have majority of control over magic. They are just like humans, except they can channel their inner powers.
Unlike legends, there is no white or black magic and no signs someone has been using magic. Most witches do however use magic in covens, they have been tricked over the years though. Each time you preform a spell in a coven the leader gets a little more of your power each time. So some witches work on their own, because they've stolen power from other witches.
Weaknesses - Death
To Stop Their Magic - Stolen from another witch, Salt. (Their magic cannot cross salt)

Faries:
Fairies are small creatures. With wings and a glowing dust flying off of them.
They are usually found together since they do have such small bodies it's easy to kill them. Although fairies have an amazing amount of magic, which is exactly what the dust that trails behind them is. Fairies can transform into humans though, although they are a human when they do, their only magic is to turn themselves back into a fairy.
Weaknesses - Iron and salt

Trolls:
In Old Norse sources, beings described as trolls dwell in isolated rocks, mountains, or caves, live together in small family units, and are rarely helpful to human beings.

Goblin:
A goblin is a legendary evil or mischievous grotesque dwarf-like daemon or monster that appeared in European stories and accounts during the Middle Ages. They are ascribed various (sometimes conflicting) abilities, temperaments and appearances depending on the story and country of origin. In some cases, goblins are little creatures related to the brownie and gnome. They are usually small, sometimes only a few inches tall, sometimes the size of a dwarf, and have magical abilities; they are greedy, especially for gold and jewelry.

Elves:An elf (plural: elves) is a type of supernaturalbeing in Germanic mytholog the early concept of an elf depends almost entirely on texts in Old English or relating to Norse mythology. Later evidence for elves appears in diverse sources such as medical texts, prayers, ballads, and folktales.

Changelings:A changeling is a creature found in folkloreand folk religion. A changeling child was believed to be a fairy child that had been left in place of a human child stolen by the fairies. The theme of the swapped child is common in medieval literature and reflects concern over infants thought to be afflicted with unexplained diseases, disorders, or developmental disabilities.

Fallen Angel:A fallen angel is a wicked or rebellious angelthat has been cast out of heaven. The term "fallen angel" does not appear in the Bible, but it is used of angels who sinned

Sorcerers:a person who claims or is believed to have magic powers; a wizard.

Sirin:Sirin is a mythological creature of Russian legends, with the head and chest of a beautiful woman and the body of a bird (usually an owl). According to myth, the Sirins lived "in Indian lands" near Eden or around the Euphrates River. Closely related to the sirens

Nymph:a mythological spirit of nature imagined as a beautiful maiden inhabiting rivers, woods, or other locations.

Ciboney:Ciboney (An Irish Seraphim - Angel) Ciboney are angels in the form of birds that hold no real history of their origin to tell. They were thought to be water birds, but Celtic history knows them as spirit fowls, heavenly creatures; a myth unseen unless you’re not looking for them. They only show themselves to those who they see truth in heart and soul. Eyes do not catch sight of them first. It is the ears that alert you to their presence. If you're true of heart, you can hear their heavenly song, the most purest sound known to heart. Their song is known to heal the weakest, most shattered hearts and clear its blindness, it's hatred, it's suffering. Upon searching for the song, if lucky, you will see the Ciboney's bright red wings.

Giant's:Giant is the English word (coined 1297) commonly used for the monsters of human appearance but prodigious size and strength common in the mythology and legends of many different cultures.

Dragon's:A dragon is a legendary creature, typically with serpentine or reptilian traits, that features in the myths of many cultures.
