1. Between midnight and 3am tonight (central time) there will be an upgrade performed to the server's storage system.  This will result in approximately 30 minutes of downtime.  In the future this will allow for hardware upgrades/migrations without any downtime.  No site data will be lost, but please keep local copies of any posts you are actively working on around that time.

  1. choose one of the three ancient civs, china, india, or egypt. gather resources such as various foods, wood, metals, and fuel, build wonders, construct mills, temples, or whatever else you can think up.
    basic rules: 5 category of people.
    farmer, 1 farmer feeds 10 people with 1 source of food. more variety of food discovered increases this number. (having more food than people automatically improves population every 360 days)
    craftsman, 1 craftsman can build a house in 30 days initially. discovering new tech can improve this number.
    miner, 1 miner can dig a 50 foot hole in 10 days. useful for getting those metals.
    forester, 1 forester can chop 1 tree a day, or plant 5.
    priest, 1 priest improves happiness and sense of community by 25. you want about the same happiness as people for best results. intialy they also research new technologies.
    other - if you can think of another job for a citizen, such as explorer, feel free to use it!
