Naruto: Warring FrontsIn the days before the hidden villages, the life of a ninja was a short one. Battles, hazards, and wandering Bijuu presented danger at every front. Still, a ninja was believed to be the embodied strength of the land's dreams, and they were highly revered in this time.

Story
All across the land, ninja clans are claiming dominance, despite the danger of doing so. Despite the volatile climate, there was a balance held between the clans, as a clan could only claim as far as their powers would let them. That was, until several clans in the Land of Fire began to unite as the first hidden village, The Village Hidden in the Leaves. This tipped the balance, and the Land of Fire expanded vastly.
As the Land of Fire expanded, two clans stood in their way into the Land of Earth. The Tsuki clan of Honoji and the Uroko clan of Kizugawa .
The Tsuki clan is said to be full of dreamers. It is an idealistic clan, though not weak by any means. Their dreamer mentality actually is what gave them their recent power, as locals supported their idealism to the point of undercutting whatever influence the other ninja clans of the area had. Popularity ushered in their strength.
The Uroko clan however is much more pragmatic. The previous clan to control Kizugawa area, the Hebi clan, was oppressive, and killed rival ninja families within their borders. The Uroko family allied themselves with the Hebi, gaining prestige within the clan, only to betray them, destroying them, and taking their influence. Despite their tactics, they don't see themselves as evil, just willing to do what it takes for the greater good.
The two clans are the only thing standing in the Hidden Leaf Village's way. Still, that is not their only threat.
Their fellow clans, even now, wish to inflict harm on them. Enemies surround them on every side.
Perhaps one of the most threatening is not of the human variety. Bijuu freely roam the land, sowing destruction as they pass.
With all these threats, a miracle is needed. Perhaps one can be found in the current rising generations of these clans?
Q&AQ: A.U or Canon?
A: A.U. All the clan's from the original exist, and the leaf formed first, but all characters are new.
Q: Are we using the English or Japanese names for everything
A: Whatever you prefer. I personally prefer to use the English names myself, but to each his own.
Q: Do I have to play as one of those 2 clans?
A: Until we get rolling, yes. It just keeps things focused.
Q: Is everyone in a clan related?
A: Nah, they are just the individuals and families who are in the service of the most powerful family within the clan, and that powerful family itself.
Q: Can I have a Kekkei Genkei?
A: Yes, but Kekkei Genkei's are going to stay with their original village. No Hyuga will be found allowed outside the Hidden Leaf. No, you can't go organ harvesting either. If a Kekkei Genkei doesn't have a place of origin, feel free to take it.
Q: What Rank am I starting out as?
A: Everyone starts out as D-ranked, but you'll get better. Later on, I won't offer too many high ranking characters from the start either. This Rp will always focus on the chars who started out as D-ranked. If there's a high ranking character who didn't start out as D-ranked, don't expect him to get too much action.
Q: What villages are there?
A: Only the Hidden Leaf, which is brand new. No other villages have formed...yet. They will though.
Q: Are there only ever going to be 2 clans, and is it always going to be in the Hidden Stone.
A: No, and no. We'll open new clans all over the place, as we want to see all villages form. We need a few things to form a clan though: 1) Enough people sincerely interested. 2) Someone active enough to lead it. 3) Something for them to do.
*Other notes
**A few things don't exist yet, as the villages haven't been formed yet, here's a few:
- Most villages don't exist, only the Leaf Village has been formed
- The standard 4 man team isn't the norm yet.
- There are no Jinjuriken, nor ways to reliably seal the Bijuu(Means Bijuu are actually scary, you see one, you run like hell.) They revive themselves after a while too, so a dead Bijuu won't stay that way permantly.

Etamura Kanoke[/U
Summary: Shunned by society, he seeks nothing more than bring honor to his clan.
Age: 14
Rank: D
Clan: Uroko
-
Fame: N/A
Personality:
Truthfully, Kanoke would like to be outgoing and energetic, but his gloomy, frail appearance, sluggish laziness, and reputation keep him from fulfilling those dreams of social success. It is perhaps because of this that he is often known to ensnare anyone who dares approach him for anything and keeps them socially hostage through ceaseless conversations about nothing or one of the various games he may have at hand at the time.
The cause of his sluggishness and appearance perhaps lie in the exertion he puts himself through in the battlefield. Willing to do whatever task with whatever methods available, he seeks to bring glory to the Uroko and Etamura.
History:
While not a traditional family, related by blood, the members of the Etamura clan have created a deep bond forged through their collective orginss as burakumin; outcasts and criminals shunned by society as impure and filthy and often left to occupations dealing with the dead. When wars came, their village are often ignored by the daimyos and they were left to fend for themselves. In order to survive, they had to forego their peaceful ways and take up the art of war taught by those in the community who had experience. Generations passed and their numbers had grown, having taken in those orphaned and left dishonored by war, yet they were still held in contempt by those they sought to serve.
Perhaps one could say that the clan flourished because they were so neglected during those times. Without regulation, the Etamura sought whatever means to protect themselves and as a result, began to experiment with forbidden techniques. By the time the rumors of their deeds reached the daimyo, the clan had grown formidable enough to defend themselves against the first waves of ninja sent to enforce his will. Their victory was bittersweet, as they knew that they would not last long against the daimyo's full strength. It was at this point that the Uroko made themselves known, offering asylum in exchange for their support against the Hebi. While the Etamura are still looked upon those of Kizugawa, they are fiercely loyal to the Uroko to this very day for that act of kindness.
Kanoke was one of the first few generations born and raised in Kizugawa, away from the toil and trouble that his family had fought so hard to escape from. While he should have been grateful to live in an era where he could dedicate himself to the knowledge and training of those before him without having to worry about survival, Kanoke couldn't help but feel guilty. Thus, when the opportunity came, he sought to join the others in battle.
-
Combat Summary: Kanoke prefers to stay at long range, using his abilities to support those fighting in close combat and attacking from a distance. If provoked to fight at close range, he will often utilize underhanded tactics, such as traps or situations that could give him an advantage.
Skills:
Good Ninjutsu
Good Chakra Control
Average Chakra Pool
Average Genjutsu
Bad Taijutsu
Hiden: Spirit Manipulation - The result of the Etamura's research in forbidden techniques, this ability focuses around the user rousing a spirit into the world of the living through the use of part of the decease's body or a cherished personal possession. Once summoned, the spirit can aid the user in a variety of ways, although just how helpful they are depends on their state of mind and how they feel towards the summoner. The major limitation of this ability is that it requires a constant supply of chakra to keep activated.
Mastery: Having inherited it from a young age, Kanoke is quite adept at using it, although he has yet to reach his full potential.
Weapon List:
Standard Weapons: Kunai, explosive tags, and wire strings.
--------
Unique Weapons:
Name: Unosuke
Description: An ancient bajōzutsu, or Japanese matchlock pistol.
Special Skills: While its bullets can be enhanced by chakra, it is primarily utilized by loading it with special rounds made with human bone, allowing Kanoke to control the projectile via the spirit summoned from it.
Jutsu List
Canon Jutsu:
Custom Jutsu:
Name: Spirit Manipulation: "Ghost Council"
Type: Support Ninjutsu (Hiden)
Rank: D
Range: 10 Feet
Hand Signs: 2 (Requires catalyst)
Description: By invoking one or more spirits, the user can seek to obtain information from it through conversation.
---------------------
Name: Spirit Manipulation: "Vengeful Spirit"
Type: Offensive Ninjitsu (Hiden)
Rank: C
Range: 15 Feet (Activation)
Hand Signs: 3 (Requires catalyst)
Description: By summoning one or more wrathful spirits, this jutsu allows the dead to attack the living. The user must practice caution while using this ability as the spirits can be hostile to anyone in their sight, including the caster. This risk can be negated if the user summons the spirit of someone bearing a grudge for a particular enemy.
