My Take on Werewolves

Racial Abilities & Weaknesses


Supernatural Condition


Supernatural Senses

• Sense of smell, hearing, and sight are very acute. Almost to the point of being distracting. Can even smell certain hormones and sense heat signatures. But poor sense of taste.
• Allergic to silver, some more so than others. Some get minor symptoms when in its presence such as sneezing and a runny nose, while others throats get itchy/threaten to close.
  • Wounds inflicted by silver weapons don't heal as fast as others and can be fatal when combined with an allergic reaction. Werewolves stabbed in the jugular with a silver knife or beheaded with a silver sword will die. A silver bullet to the heart is a surefire kill, internal organs are a likely kill, while a hit to limbs can be survivable with fast removal or in worst cases, amputations.
  • You can stop a werewolf from transforming by shackling them in silver chains and collars.
• Also allergic to wolfsbane and tend to avoid it, but it won't kill them unless great amounts are ingested. Sweet foods like chocolate are also not advised.
  

Supernatural Durability and Healing

• Can take a serious beating. We're talking being able to walk off a few shotgun bullets or the impact of a moving car.
• Fast healing, but big wounds take longer.
  • Ability decreases with age.
    

Supernatural Speed and Endurance

• Can reach 31-37 mph at top sprinting speed, but generally their strength is long distance. They can maintain a steady jog for miles and miles.
• Will fatigue eventually. Also, the more active a werewolf is, the longer they can go and vice versa for younger or less active werewolves.
  

Supernatural Strength

• Notoriously strong creatures. They could lift a car with both hands in human form and commit other feats of strength. But their real power is reached when they are in beast form. In this form they could kick or punch through wooden walls, hurl a bus, or ragdoll a person. They are truly a formidable opponent.
• Run the risk of breaking furniture, household objects, and at worst, bones. Have been called brutish creatures.

Animal Instincts

• Crave flesh and find enjoyment in hunting, instinctively want to chase things.
• Find difficulty keeping their emotions in check. Easily provoked into fights. Will exhaust themselves to the point of death if they are really set off.
  

Pack Mentality

• Thrive in social situations, tend to flock in groups
• If deprived of social interactions for too long they start to go mad. The most effective way to break a werewolf is to isolate them

Mortality

Limited Lifespan

• While werewolves live longer than humans and other species, they are by no means immortal and will die naturally.
• Their average lifespan is between 100 and 300 years. The oldest recorded werewolf lived to be 500, having been the unholy child of a werewolf and a vampire.
  

Natural Weaponry

Deadly Jaws

• A werewolf's bite is very strong, able to exert about 2,000 psi, enough to break bones and tear flesh.
• As werewolves age, they are subject to losing teeth more often, and while they can regenerate, it is a painful and unpleasant process.

Sharp Claws

• Their claws are very sharp and thick like a grizzly's. They can claw through flesh, wood, and some metals.
• They are subject to tearing out claws, which is very painful, but they do grow back.
  

Other Abilities

Summoning

• A wolf's howl can travel miles through clear air. Any werewolves, wolves, or canines that hear their cry come to their aid in times of need.
• On the flip side, their howl can also intimidate lesser creatures into fleeing.
  

Most Powerful Form

• Almost like a supernova, when a powerful werewolf is very near to death, they can achieve a massive feral, four legged wolf form. In this great beast form they can't speak and slip into a much more primitive mindset that can be mentally damaging. Such a form can't be maintained for very long. It is used as a "hail mary" or last ditch effort.
