The Infernal Hero: Jabberwock
January 25th (Aquarius)
5”10’ (Height)/ 11”5’ (Tail Length)
Personality: Despite his appearance, lineage, quirk, and hero persona, Amon is in fact, a very nice person. He developed a personality that contradicts every assumption about someone in his situation, being quite the typical high school student. Spontaneous, energetic, sometimes capricious, he’s a free spirit who is determined to be the master of his own fate. He is capable of showing great conviction and openness when confronting his own problems, though he often employs this sentiment to trivial or outright stupid things, like skipping class to travel to the next city over for some limited time salted egg yolk matcha red bean crepes.
He at least takes his hero work seriously, though sometimes he will get arrogant, he can usually give good judgments on the caliber of his opponents and is surprisingly meticulous when fighting.
Amon usually claims that he’s doing hero work for pocket money to buy more snacks, but it’s clear from his disposition that he does have other motives. He often tries to borrow money from his classmates by flaunting his tragic backstory, they don’t fall for it anymore.
Background: The Deakaha clan has had their familial quirk: the ability to generate blades and sword waves, passed down from generation to generation. It was rumored to even be recorded in legends before the proliferation of quirks, and is what gave them their name of the “unsheathing crimson blade”. Although it was deemed unethical, the Deakaha clan has historically practiced quirk marriage to keep up the strength of their hereditary quirk, with many quirk users marrying into the family in one way or another in order to produce more optimal combinations.
Amon was the product of a one-night stand his father had with a foreign woman, and was dumped on the steps of the Deakaha estate’s doorstep. He was ostracized by the conservative elder generations and neglected by his father at first, until he awakened to his quirk. His estranged mother possessed a high-end physical enhancement type quirk that fully manifested in Amon, which allowed him to quickly become the strongest quirk user of his generation. He was looked at with envy and hatred from those bitter about the outsider, the mistake of the family drawing the winning ticket in the quirk lottery. But those were the facts of life.
The boy was trained in his family in a strict and old-fashioned way, but his nature and quirk didn’t really conform to the norms of his clan. Despite proving himself to be skilled, he was still teased and berated for those eccentricities. Later, when Amon was given recommendations to UA from distant relatives working in the government and hero industry, he tore the documents up and took part in the regular exams instead. He disliked the hypocrisy and backward values of his family and kept his distance ever since, often joking about “doing something stupid” just to bring shame to his family.
Despite what he says, he did take his hero work seriously. Even with pretty abysmal academic grades his performance at various school events and ability to resolve sudden incidents allowed him to become a top hero course student. He was content, and maybe even arrogant during his second year, which led up to a serious injury that put him out of commission in the latter part of the year. The incident he resolved still landed him enough reputation as one of UA’s big three, but he’s been reflecting on his weaknesses that led him up to that point.
Quirk: Demon Blade
A combination quirk that fuses the Deakaha clan’s hereditary quirk “Kenki Manifestation”, which allows the creation of sword waves and edged constructs, and his mother’s “Demonic Manticore”, which gave her enhanced physical capacities, and the ability to secret poisons from her demon-like tail. His father’s quirk gave Amon the ability to manifest near-weightless energy constructs from the tip of his tail, while his mother’s simultaneously gave him enhanced durability and speed to optimize the usage of those constructs.
The constructs’ strength is dependent on the dedication to them, and can be launched as short distant, shockwave-like projectiles. While he was only taught how to manifest bladed weapons in his childhood, Amon became much more versatile after studying at UA. He is able to do various things with these constructs, such as ensnaring, burrowing, and defending.
The size of the constructs are roughly inversely proportional to how strong they are, though by dedicating more focus and energy to it, the durability can be enhanced. Creating these constructs uses a great deal of energy, it’s the reason why Amon seems to be constantly eating. Demon Blade is an extremely versatile and effective quirk for melee combat, but struggles in mid to far ranged encounters. While the constructs are capable of extending, the further they extend out, the frailer they become.
-Moleclaws, narrow but powerful blades that burrow through objects for surprise attacks
-Shields, there are focus shields (smaller) and spread shields (bigger), the bigger the frailer
-Devour form, a mawl like form that can capture and do damage
-Birdcage, spreading out multiple strains to create a cage-like effect
-Defaults to scythe for the coolness factor, could be more practical
Doesn’t use any support equipment, with his hero costume being really just a regular outfit. Despite this, he respects members of the support classes at UA the second most, right after the management classes.
Grew up in a traditional Japanese household, and had little understanding of technology until high school. Thought that either SAIA was a ghost, or that Kobura had finally lost it.
Eats a lot, like, a lot.
Has a huge scar from shoulder blade to thigh on the left side of his body, with a reattachment scar on his left arm. His tail broke off in the same incident that gave him the scar, it grew back though. He doesn't mention the details about the "incident".
Doing pretty alright on my side at the very least. Decided I finally wanted to get back into my old habits, and I managed to find this one near the front page. How about you man? Everything still good on your end.

Backstory: When Mardia was born her mother looked the little baby in the eyes and knew right then and there that she loved Marida. Her father looked her in the eyes and knew the same to be true for him. Mardia had a happy loving family and she lived a happy normal life. Her mother had a shadow quirk that made life a little hard when she got severely mad. Mardia’s father had no quirk, which caused worry when they thought of Mardia. They were unsure if she would take after her father or her mother.
Years pile on and by 7 Mardia was a happy little girl. That was until her quirk manifested. It started out as a normal day, Mardia went to school like normal and came home like normal. However something was off and everyone could feel it. It was an hour after getting home from school that a scream echoed through the house; the source being Mardia. Her parents ran into the room to see Mardia on the floor, blood dripping down her forehead, getting into her now red eyes. On her head were black horns and her hair was dripping a black liquid. Mardia’s eyes met her mothers, pleading for help but her mother let out a fearful scream and went into a frantic state.
Mardia was distraught as she knew what had just happened, her mother had just felt her quirk. The worry, fear, and pain Mardia felt was unbearable that she lost control. Her quirk lashed out again but in a different way. Instead shadows melted from the walls and centered under Mardia. Tears were streaming down her face as she let go of her emotions and sobbed. The shadows shot out in spikes, one driving into her fathers right arm, hitting the crook of his elbow.
The authorities arrived shortly after that, escorting everyone away and taking her mother to a therapist as the woman was still in a panic. A hero showed up but by now Mardia was curled in a ball crying, a black dome around her. The dome shot out a spike at every sob. No one could get close so they waited it out, eventually she would have to stop. However an hour later Mardia passed out and the shadows melted back into the walls.
The Hero who had arrived on the scene stood shocked, confused, worried. They took Mardia to the hospital where she was kept under watch. She had gone into a temporary coma from using her new found quirk for so long. Her parents had come to visit her only to say they wanted nothing to do with her. It didn’t shock anyone after what had happened. After 2 weeks Mardia woke up, having heard the news about her parents decision in her sleep she questioned what would happen to her.
The Hero who had saved her stepped forward and offered to take care of the 7 year old. At first Mardia was hesitant but eventually she agreed. So the hero took care of Mardia like she was their own. The hero turned out to be a woman named Lona Hatsuka, aka Lady Night. Lona made sure Mardia lived a happy life but Mardia turned slightly away from the care Rias was giving her and turned everything inward, deciding to deal with it alone. Lona saw this and did her best to get Mardia to open up.
9 years later and Madia is 16, she’s opened up more but still internalizes everything. The time for UA’s entrance exam was soon and Mardia wanted nothing to do with Hero’s. While she was okay with Lona, Mardia didn’t care for the whole heroes and villains thing. Lona had other plans though, she recommended Marida for UA thinking it would help Mardia open up more.

Quirk: WHITE HUNTER (Transformation):
"Alright my favorite part of the business. See my quirk is kinda like well...darn I guess it's less cool when I say it out loud. But essentially I take on the properties of becoming smoke yeah. Best part of it is that I get to pick and choose exactly how much of my body becomes smoke, but the downside is that I can't exactly make myself all smoke for too long. How do I mean? Well consider this as an example for you to think over. Say if someone threw a grenade at me, and wanted to explode my body to straight bits. Now if I turned sections of myself into smoke then I could save the body parts that weren't able to make it outside the radius, and have them form back up after a little bit. The issue is that turning myself complete into a smoke cloud to avoid the damages means that I don't exactly have something physical for my body to recognize and put back together. But so long as I got that one physical bit of me there, then I can make sure everything else goes back right as rain."
"Doesn't quite stop there either. Because thanks to my natural genius I figured out ways to make this a combative power as well. Like extending myself to hit guys at range, making the air in the area downright awful to enjoy, or simply luring an enemy in to hit me and them realizing I just poofed right in front of their eyes. Course I kinda need my head to have perfect vision during those times since trying to see as smoke has certainly been an interesting trial run. Everything just kinda feels...like air ya know? So yeah head on all good, head gone means swinging fully blind."
"Right they did mention I would have to do some introspection before this bit. Never is quite easy thinking of something to say about yourself in the heat of the moment ya know? But I guess it's better to just repeat what i've heard others say about me yeah? Well my parents think i'm pretty lazy when it comes to handling most things. Scratch that, my mom thinks i'm pretty lazy when it comes to handling most things. Dad usually gets dragged into it somehow, and then gives me the whole fake yelling bit before turning on the game so we can waste a few hours. Mother always wanted a studious type when she finally got a kid, and to be fair I get good grades whenever I show up to take the tests. Dad's just always been in the camp of letting me make my own mistakes, and coming to him so that we can somehow turn it into a worthwhile lesson. Their pretty alright overall as far as parenting goes. Suppose I could put in more effort now that i've gotten this far huh? Eh. I'll think about it."
"My friends on the other hand know that i'm perfectly motivated when I need to be. Like whenever we see a perfectly good wall of art, and I just gotta tag it for the culture ya know. But i'm pretty much the de-facto leader when it comes to our group since I never really sit by when I see something I wanna make happen. Guess I do a good job enough since they haven't abandoned me to my own devices so far after all this time. Though there was that that one time Saito tripped me when we were running from Officer Saia. Boy did I get a talking to from her and mom both when I was at the station, and they may or may not have started my natural fear towards seeing women upset. Sometimes I thank Kami for granting me the quirk to avoid unfortunate beatings at times."
"Huh sure I guess I can say enough to give some background. Well like I said before I got two parents in the family, but no siblings unfortune for my mother as I can be sometimes. Also won the genetic lottery since my mother doesn't have a quirk at all, and dad's is something so specific you'd almost not consider it one anyway. He abuses it enough for it definitely to function like a superpower though. What is it? Oh that's simple. He usually knows the right thing to say...not kidding. Like seventy-five percent of the time he'll be able to give proper advice, so he messes with stocks to keep money generated enough for him to stay at home and be a lazy gamer alongside me. Mother still keeps her job as a guidance counselor despite that though since she refuses in her words, 'Sit around the house and watch two man-children'. Yeah that's the family for sure."
"My quirk kicking in came as a surprise to everybody because it only kicked in when I was like ten years old already. I had gotten used to the fact I was pretty much gonna be just like mom at that point, and sure it hurt at first but she was really supportive throughout the process. Made me realize that she was stronger in mind than some of the heroes I saw on the streets everyday. It happened out of the blue for everyone too. Just was playing games with dad during a day I decided to play hooky, and he was the point he rather I stay inside at home safe than be outside somewhere. I got really mad when he wouldn't stop using this stupid cheesy combo in our fighting game, and I was just feeling really frustrated since it was going on for hours. So I decided to be petty and tried to spit on him to at least break the infinite loop of hell's domain...but I kinda blew a whole smoke cloud at him instead. There was a pause...some wondering...and they a accusation on if I just tried to spit on him just then."
"After that mother started cracking down even harder on me being inside school more than ever with my quirk now. Since I could potentially have the opportunity to make something more of myself with the ability. It looked minor at first, but dad and I did some practice by using his quirk to find out the right methods to help accelerate my growth. Guess dumb, specific quirks have their uses at times eh? My ambition was kinda low on thinking so far ahead in the future until I went on the internet at his behest one day. Saying i'd probably find an answer there looking through some old vids. I swear he was just using some mind trick to get me into my room, so that he could enjoy those eroge games in peace. But he was right when I stumbled across some old vids from years ago. I always liked looking at hero vids for sure since what guy doesn't enjoy watching justice defeat evil. But I found this one I hadn't seen before...and I knew what I wanted to do."
"He fought with all his heart in a desperate scenario. Bleeding heavily, losing his own grip, taking blows he avoided earlier, but still he kept surging forward. All I could do was be captivated by the entire sight as I didn't want to miss a singular beat of it all. And then the sky erupted into a beautiful sunrise as two meteors crashed landed back down to earth. But from those ashes...a phoenix was born as his fist rose over the smoldering ashes. I kicked open my door as my father tried his best to hide whatever he was doing on screen, and I showed my phone into his face to show him that image that ignited a flame into my own heart. I wanted to be just like him. I wanted to be a hero. I wanted to be Endeavor."
