Chris seemed to perk up as soon as he heard Aiden begin talking about a cure, but cringed a bit at the last comment. He resisted the urge to lash out at the younger doctor, and only clenched his fists in response. He knew it was his fault. He knew he should have listened, but now was not the time to be pointing fingers. He swallowed his frustration and shook his head. "I believe my father was working on something similar before he... um..." He trailed off for a moment, his eyes flashing a split-second hint of sadness before he continued. "He was working on something similar. He never said what it was. Whenever I asked him, he would respond with 'just in case things go to shit'."
He glanced over at his computer monitor, trying not to pay too much attention to the images of people getting overwhelmed and raped by sex-crazed test subjects. There were a few holed up, but he doubted that they would be able to get to them in time... Then his eyes lit up when the monitor switched to a security camera watching a dragon. "Kellius!" He said. "I know exactly where he is! If we leave now, then we might be able to get to him!" He dug into his pockets and pulled out his keys, giving them to Alene. "Lock the doors behind us, and don't go anywhere. If we're not back in ten minutes, head to the fallout shelter. There should be food and supplies stashed away."

Aiden had to ask himself - why was he enjoying rubbing salt in his boss' wounds? Just the look on that man's face felt like revenge. Even after he'd somewhat promised to not start a dispute, those tantalizing words "I told you so" just continued to slip past his teeth in various ways. He tried to hide his smug expression, but it was so terribly hard to do so after seeing Chris' reaction. Knowing that there's more important things to think about, that little evil bug inside just continued to tempt him into expressing his vengeance and stand just a little over the older guy's head - for once. But he listened as Chris revealed more on the antidote...only to, once again, bite his tongue and roll his eyes.

"He was working on something similar. He never said what it was. Whenever I asked him, he would respond with 'just in case things go to shit'."

Chris knew all along!? Aiden's thoughts raged. All this time, he KNEW! His father already expressed the fear! And yet, I'm the one too immature to understand the sort of researched done here? REALLY?!

He stepped away to stare out the window, crossing his arms as if to wrap himself around in some sort of emotional harness to keep him anger locked away.

"Kellius!"

Aiden whipped around to find Chris starting lively at his computer. He frowned, "Patient 100? He's an excellent specimen. Took to the treatments well..." As Chris continued, Aiden stepped over with the other side of the computer and froze in horror to see a second stage patient in his cell, about to be attacked by an infected one. Before Aiden tore himself away from the monitor, Chris was already tossing his keys to Nurse Alene and heading to the door. He understood exactly what the guy was thinking. He sat his briefcase on the floor beside the desk, then he took a moment to remove his blazer. Aiden pulled the envelope opener out of his pocket where he had unconsciously shoved it, and grabbed the Lysol can from the the other. Without another thought, he looked at Chris with a very heated nod. Regardless of how he couldn't stand the guy, he knew their success required cooperation.

48 watched the dragonkin prepare. Her punches against he glass soon broke through. She wailed in victory while clearing her way through without a care in the world about what the glass was doing to her flesh. She forced her way through the last portion of broken glass, too impatient to wait any longer. Breathing harder now, only to stop to take a deep, lingering breath to collect the dragon's scent. She could smell his blood rushing, which only made her want him more. With speed unseen in human, she rushed passed the dragon's claws and tail with ease, only to wedge herself between him and the wall; crawling up his spines by digging her claws into them. Meat was a need for later. For now, she wanted something more - pleasurable.

Kellius growled as she broke through the glass. He took a deep breath before slashing at her with his claw as she charged him only to miss from her surprising speed. Before he could turn around he felt her claws dig into his back enough to draw blood as she climbed him. With a pained growl he wrapped his tail around her leg to forcefully pull her off despite causing more pain to himself before turning to take another swing at her hoping she would be too off balance to counter him.

Surprised was an understatement. Alene didn't know why Chris was suddenly gung-ho about going to save a patient, but she wasn't going to argue. A dragon on their team could be a big help, or worse, it changing could really screw them over. Not in a good way either. So, she grabbed the keys that were thrown at her, and did what she was told. As soon as they were out of the door, she locked it and watched them threw the small window in his door until she couldn't anymore. Once they were out of view completely, she moved back to the computers and watched them the best she could. Her heart pounded slightly. She needed them to come back, with or without the dragon. Hopefully with the dragon, as he would be a big help, but more importantly; she needed them back alive and well because she didn't know how to get out of this alive without them. Sure, that may make her sound desperate, but it was the truth, and she was fine with that realization.

For the first time, she realized the dragon was getting attacked. Her heart dropped. How had she not noticed that patient before? How would the boys get past it? Or the rest of them? Sure, they could just fire away. However, the sound would bring more and more. Shaking her head, she closed her eyes and sent out a silent prayer that the two would make it to the dragon okay, and that she wouldn't have to watch them get raped to death.

48 felt a rough, meaty thing wrap around her legs, pulling at her. She fought to stay on, digging her claws further into the dragon's shoulders and back, but his tail successfully yanked her down and tossing her across the room. Thrown off balance, 48 leveled herself onto her knees, staring harshly at the dragon - harshly with a side of delight. She will have to fight for her earnings here. Without a thought or a care about what the dragon wanted, 48 stood to rush the beast once more, but as she ran towards his center, targeting his neck and head, she'd forgotten all about his thick tail that had already set knocked her down once. His swing struck, throwing her against another wall hard enough to crack it. 48 was stunned and struggled to focus on her target. She fell to the hard floor covered in plaster and blood, trying to shake off that attack, knowing another one was close.

Reaching beneath his leather jacket, Chris quickly yanked out the revolver he kept stashed away, his heart pounding heavily within his chest as he slowly opened the door, glancing both ways down the hall. To his relief, it remained empty and with renewed courage, he gently stepped out and motioned for Aiden to follow, while holding the revolver at the ready. "I really hope I don't have to use this..." He moaned quietly, gently shaking at the thought. Not only would using the weapon possibly alert more infected patients, but Chris had never fired a gun in his life... let alone at a living thing. "Kellius is one floor below. Let's move quickly."

When Chris revealed the gun, Aiden's sudden courage with the envelope opener seemed puny - but smart. "Are you sure you know how to use that thing?" Aiden wasn't one who resorted to violence. Protection was always a good thing when it requires simplicity, skill, and brains. A gun was far too immature to him; far too easy for any ignorant bum off the streets to end a fight ungentlemanly like, and far too barbaric to his liking. "Besides, the whole idea of being inconspicuous will be thrown out the window if you fire. Might as well put it away and grab something else."

He followed Chris further down the hallway, reaching the stare hall that seemed void of anyone. "If we get down there fast enough, how are we going to manage that...thing before it gets us all. We're ill prepared here," he said, waving his envelope opener to prove it.

(((BLARGH!)))

Chris gave a small sigh, rubbing the back of his neck as he quickly made his way toward the stairs. "I know, but it's all I have right now." He stated, opening the door and glancing down the stairwell. "As soon as I find something, then I'll put it away. If anything, I could just resort to using the butt of it as a weapon, rather than just firing it." He suddenly froze in his tracks when he heard the slight echo of something growling and huffing, followed by a strange squelching sound. The young man's heart pounded within his chest, and he shakily continued. "Be ready... we don't know what's down there..."

"Be ready... we don't know what's down there..."

"Oh, I'm ready. I'm always ready for surprises." Meric defrosted himself once Chris began to move further on. He was trying to play the tough one here, but his actions were quite the opposite. As he followed, loosening up his tie and removing his coat jacket, he slowly moved closer and closer to Chris until he was practically laying against his back. His makeshift weapon at the ready beside him, Aiden continued to glance over his shoulder a time or two to insure that they were not being followed.

When they finally reached the lower wings, with lights flicking and dead bodies around, Meric instantly moved to each body to check on their pulse. When he determined that they were dead, he grudgingly stabbed them in the heart and then the head. "Wow, most impressive; this thing actually penetrates bone when sent through with the right ferocity." He continued on, making sure none of the dead suddenly awaken and attack them from behind. His curiosity begged for him to salvage one of them, to bag a few up in the freezer containment or throw a possible survivor in a cell in hopes to study them. But, this wasn't the time to frolic in personal spoils and flights of fancy. Instead, he wipe his weapon and hands on a nearby towel and continued to follow Chris to the next room.

"I hope Kellius is still alive," he whispered. "If not, then we'll be at a loss for the antidote."

Chris's heart sank as they reached the floor below, only to find it littered with the corpses of staff and patients. His hands and knees shook as he took in the sight. This was all his fault... what had once been a simple research project for a common problem had turned into an outright disaster. If he had listened to Adrian, then none of this would have happened. The young man's stomach heaved and he tried his best to fight off the wave of nausea that washed over him... and Adrian stabbing his envelop opener into the head of one of the corpses did not help at all with that.
Then, what sounded like a pained groan echoed off of the walls, along with a savage growl and sickening wet squelching sounds. Chris tensed up and took a deep breath, before slowly making his way around a corner. What he saw next absolutely sickened him. A muscular stallion morph currently had a young male doctor pinned roughly on his stomach, his pants torn away and tossed off to the side. The stallion's shaft was buried to the hilt inside of the man, thrusting and pounding with force that looked almost bone-crushing, and a large bulge could be seen protruding from the man's abdomen with each jerk of the stallion's hips. An off-white, thick fluid was pooled around the two, which was thick with a musky scent.
The stallion turned and glared at Chris, a thick layer of foam pouring out of his mouth. Immediately, the equine yanked his shaft out of the obviously-injured doctor, allowing fresh seed to pour from the man's gaping hole. Chris's eyes widened as he noticed just how large the equine's rod was... nearly twenty inches in length, and almost four inches in diameter... which confirmed that the doctor on the floor was suffering serious internal damage, if not dead already.
The stallion gave out a savage growl and charged at Chris, his massive member jutting out for the world to see. Chris instinctively aimed the pistol at the infected patient's head, his finger firmly on the trigger...
But he couldn't pull it.
It wasn't because the safety was on, or because the pistol was jammed. Chris had never fired a gun in his life, let alone at a living being. And the fact that these infected people still had a chance to be saved plagued his mind. He gritted his teeth and continued aiming, his hand shaking violently. He just couldn't do it.
The muscular stallion knocked his arm aside, tossing the gun from his grip and tackled him to the hard tile floor. Chris was thrown into a daze as the back of his head collided with the concrete, and he weakly tried to fight off the stallion... who currently had him pinned by his throat and was frantically working to tear away at his jeans.
