This roleplay is themed after the fandoms Umineko No Naku Koro Ni/When They Cry 3 & 4, Corpse Party (AU), and Touhou Project. It is not required to have any prior knowledge on the stated fandoms or the past Murder Games as well.

~Premise~

Why hello there~! If you're reading this exact letter at this exact moment, it means that you've been specifically chosen to take part in a wonderful Gameboard event at the Metaworld. You need not to prepare oh so heavily for the event. The prize for winning the Gameboard event? I'm willing to part with a good fortune of my gold, that is one prize. Then there's my power to grant you a single rule-defying wish. That's another prize. Just think of anything that you desire out of me, and it will be your prize. I'll tell more of this event if you do eventually choose to participate, so be sure to send this envelope back with the confirmation.

-The Golden Witch Beatrice

This letter came from nowhere, and no matter what you did during your day-to-day routine, it would always return into your sight... waiting for you to give into this phony letter. You had no knowledge to what this event was. You had no knowledge on how this letter wouldn't exactly be disposed of so easily. You had no knowledge as to who the "Golden Witch Beatrice" was. And certainly you had no knowledge as to why you were chosen for the event at all.

Time flies, and the constant reminder of this game keeps on clawing at you... and thus, you decide to give in to it's demands. Regardless if you knew what you were doing with the letter, a simple reply note you place onto the envelope's letter... everything went black around you.

Then... then the Witch's Game began.

~Truth System~
Stemming from the Uminekoverse, there is a mechanic known as the Truth System. For this roleplay, these are the known Truths to be used, and when used by a player, be sure to also bold and underline your Truth with the appropriate color so it is easy to see (because of some people using colored text in their posts). All Truths that can used by players are recommended to be used during the investigation/voting sessions.

The Golden Truth
A Truth reserved only for the Gamemaster or someone that knows the full brunt of the Game itself. This will only be used by Beatrice.

The Red Truth
A Truth that shows the absolute truth, and does not lie. This will only be used by Beatrice in order to highlight key evidence and clues to each murder.

The Blue Truth
A Truth that shows the possibility of a situation, and if true or confirmed, it will gain the effects of a Red Truth. This can be used by anybody and has no limit usage.

The Purple Declaration
A Declaration that shows the absolute truth, and does not lie... when you are an innocent. The Maestro and the Traitor can lie using the Purple Declaration. This can be used by anybody, but it can only be used once per round.

Short Bio:

1. Iwaku rules still apply here. We are in Iwaku, after all.

2. Again, you do not have to know the prior canon of the Murder Series, Umineko, Corpse Party, and Touhou Project to understand everything. All are welcomed to participate.

3. There will be a limit on both duos and OCs. 10 duos and 10 OCs only. However, I might extend the limits if there is a high demand for either one or both.

4. The GM (myself) and the co-GMs (@Bomb & @The Silver Paladin) will be working tons here. Be sure to tag any one of us depending on the location of each round.

5. Character powers will vary throughout the event. Early on, all character powers are nullified, and as the event progresses, character powers will be slowly coming back. Near the end, everyone will be at full power. This is to prevent any colossal feats being done in the simple settings in the very beginning. The same goes towards godmodding and metagaming, as those both are not allowed in any form. However, OOC voting is allowed due to the nature of the hidden traitor and the Maestro.

6. With this being a big event, it's understandable if you can't keep track due to IRL or anything else that comes your way. The required minimum to keep up with an event like this is to find a group of people to be your posting partners, use the tagging system frequently, post at least once each round, and also vote at least once each round. That way, I can tell you still want in, and also telling me that I shouldn't kill off your character due to inactivity.

7. All special roles, besides the Survivor/Guest role, will have PMs to discuss the behind-the-scenes actions, such as the Maestro choosing the round's traitor, the traitor choosing who to kill for the found, and the detectives investigating someone to find either the round traitor or the Maestro. To keep the essence of a "mystery" in this event, you MUST keep your roles a secret.

8. Reserves during the sign-ups are first come first serve. There will be 40 open character slots, but of course, I will extend the slots if there is high demand. After the third round's mid-round update, I will close the sign-ups for any new participants.

~Roles~
Guests: Otherwise known as this Murder Game's survivors. Their goal is to take out the Maestro and the traitor for each round. They do this through the matter of voting up a single person. The results of the vote can either help or diminish their Karma against the entity Beatrice. If they successfully vote up either the traitor or the Maestro, the guests get one positive Karma point. If they vote up an innocent, the entity Beatrice receives the point. The Karma system does not widely effect anything else but the outcome of the final round before the epilogue. So it all depends if the guests or Beatrice get the most Karma points throughout the event.

Traitors: Traitors aren't a permanent role throughout the game like in other Murder Games. One traitor is chosen for each round by the Maestro. Once the round is over (by either avoiding execution or getting executed), the traitor role is passed onto another. The chosen traitor is free to kill one person, even the Maestro. If the chosen traitor happens to kill the current Maestro, they will be able to become the next Maestro.

Maestro: Only one person will get this role, and they will have the power to choose who will be the traitor for each round. If they are found out and executed, then Beatrice (or otherwise me, the GM) will continue this role. If the Maestro lives throughout the game, they will have the choice of determining the fates of select survivors or all survivors left. If killed by a traitor that they had chosen, the Maestro is passed on from the original and into the current traitor of that round. The Maestro is unable to make themself a traitor. In the case of the Maestro choosing one of the three detectives, the selected detective will commit suicide instead. Because of this, the detective will leave behind a hint that will point towards the Maestro's identity. Don't worry if finding out the Maestro seems impossible as they will not do any direct killing. There will be clues throughout each round that may hint towards the Maestro in some way or the other.

Detectives: There will be 3 detectives, or otherwise known as this Murder Game's group of agents. They will have chances to investigate two individuals in order to rat out the current Traitor and the Maestro. Their results will be publicly announced whether or not they guessed correctly, but it will not state if they found the traitor and/or the Maestro. If one of them is, by chance, chosen by the Maestro to become a traitor, they will commit suicide instead. A hint towards the Maestro's identity will be left behind by the dead detective.

"Because magic exists for people who believe. Even if I don't. If someone believed, then magic will exist in the human world."

-Name-

Ange Ushiromiya

-Age-
18

-Gender-
Female

-Canon-
Umineko No Naku Koro Ni

-Abilities/Attributes-
Ange is otherwise known as the last Beatrice, ANGE-Beatrice, and has both the qualities of an Endless Witch and her own specific title of Witch of Resurrection. Due to her status as a Witch, Ange has both the ability to use the Red Truth and the Blue Truth.

-Personality-
After the Rokkenjima Serial Murders Incident, Ange's innocence was shattered, and she grew up to be a cold, cynical, and calm personality. Her loneliness due to her family besides Eva being dead makes her unable to form connections with others well, and has a very unhealthy desire to figure out what exactly happened to her family, the truth of the murders. Even with the abilities of a Witch, she is still wary on what is the truth and what is the fantasy.

-Short Bio-
On the year of 1998, Ange sought out to figure out the truth towards the Rokkenjima Serial Murders Incident, segmenting into the Metaworld as ANGE-Beatrice. She took part of the 8th game within the Metaworld's Gameboard, but then realizing that she didn't exactly need to find the truth to be a peace with the deaths of her family. Segmenting back into the real world (following the Magic / True Ending), Ange hands over the title of the Ushiromiya head and fortune to Okonogi, and goes off to restart her life as an author pennamed "Yukari Kotobuki." However, some time after this, she felt something amiss, and finds herself a part of the Witch's Game again.

Teemo2

Name:

Teemo

Age:

??? (I'll assume 15)

Gender:

Male

Canon:

League Of Legends

Abilities/Attributes:

latest
Passive - Camoflauge - After not moving for a while, lets Teemo stealth indefinitely as long as he doesn't move from his location.

latest
- Blinding Dart - This dart can blind someone temporarily

latest
- Move Quick - This ability allows Teemo to run faster.

latest
- Toxic Shot - All of Teemo's darts have poison, and while it only lasts a while, it can be deadly in some circumstances.

latest
- Noxious Trap - The epitome of all Teemo mains. Teemo places a mushroom trap that soon turns invisible. If someone else steps on it, god bless you all.

Personality:

- Kind
- Cute
- Serious
And yea that's all I can think of for now xD

Short Bio:

Teemo is a legend among his yordle brothers and sisters in Bandle City. As far as yordles are concerned, there is something just slightly off about him. While Teemo enjoys the companionship of other yordles, he also insists on frequent solo missions in the ongoing defense of Bandle City. Despite his genuinely warm personality, something switches off inside Teemo's mind during combat so that the lives he must end while on patrol do not burden him. Even as a young recruit, the drill instructors and other trainees found it a little disconcerting that, while Teemo was normally charming and kind, he turned deadly serious and highly efficient the minute combat exercises began. Teemo's superiors quickly steered him toward the Scouts of the Mothership, which is one of Bandle City's most distinguished Special Forces unit alongside the Megling Commandos.
While most yordles do not handle solo scouting missions with a great deal of finesse, Teemo is remarkably efficient at them. His record of success in defending Bandle City from infiltrators easily makes him one of the most dangerous yordles alive, though you'd never know it by having a cup of honey mead with him at his favorite inn. Bandle City chose Teemo as their first champion for the League, and he has taken to it like a duck to water. His signature weapon - a blowgun - uses a rare ajunta poison he personally gathers from the jungles of Kumungu. To help cope with his lengthy periods of isolation, Teemo recently struck up a friendship with Tristana Tristana, a fellow League champion and fellow member of Bandle City's Special Forces. This connection is healthy for both yordles, though now Valoran's voracious media outlets circulate rumors that the friendship is turning into a romantic relationship. Regardless, Teemo is a crowd favorite in the League of Legends, and a pint-sized foe that many have come to fear.

-Name-
Jason Voorhees

-Age-
Would be sixty-eight but stopped aging after his death at the hands of Tommy Jarvis.

-Gender-
Male

-Canon-
Friday the 13th

-Abilities/Attributes-
Jason has shown many feats of super-human strength throughout the franchise and even before his zombification. Being capable to squeeze a man's head until it was nothing more than bone shards and grey matter with nothing more than his bare hands. After death he's become a juggernaut capable of enduring damage such as electrocution/fire/having a roof dropped on him/hung/shot/had acid thrown upon him/frozen etc and nothing has been able to stop him yet. He even managed to go toe-to-toe with demonic dream killer Freddy Krueger.

-Personality-
When he was still a child, Jason was just a frightened boy with a severe mental condition and a chronic fear of water. All he wanted were friends and he got his response of bullying time in and time out. After apparently 'drowning', Jason actually survived in the woods until he eventually reached adult-hood and saw his beloved mother decapitated in front of him. From then on and even after his death/zombification, he kills but only out of a need to make his mother happy. May god have mercy on anyone unfortunate to cross his path. Unless of course you're a small child or animal then you'll be safe from harm.

-Short Bio-
Jason Voorhees born in 1947 as the son of Elias and Pamela Voorhees, he had a crippling mental disability. This in turn lead to an innate awkward shyness around other children. He wanted to be by his mother's side at all times. But as she got a job as the new cook at Camp Crystal Lake, she had no choice but to push Jason off to play with the other kids. The counselors would watch them wouldn't they? They wouldn't be too busy making love to keep an eye on him, right?

It turned out that Pamela's greatest fears came true and Jason seemed to drown in the lake due to the neglectful counselors. Taking up a machete, Jason's mother set out on a bloody rampage of revenge. Only to ultimitely meet her own end at the hands of Alice Hardy. Unknown to both of them however, Jason had survived his drowning and was actually living out a meager existence in the backwoods of Crystal Lake and he'd seen his mother's death. Taking up a mask of his own, he would begin his own killing spree that only came to an end after his death at the hands of young ten year old Tommy Jarvis.

But this would not be the end of Jason's story. As Tommy tried to destroy Jason's corpse, a lightening bolt brought the serial killer back to life and so Jason continues to kill in the name of his mother, taking on psychics, chainsaw-wielding cannibals, Ash Williams, and Freddy Krueger.

But nothing can stop Jason Voorhees.

"Do I look like someone who cares what God thinks?!"

-Name-
Elliot Spencer/The Lead Cenobite/Pinhead

-Age-
???

-Gender-
Male

-Canon-

Clive Barker's Hellraiser series

-Abilities/Attributes-
Pinhead is an extremely powerful being and has several supernatural abilities. He is virtually unstoppable and invulnerable in the physical sense, but never engages in physical combat, instead letting hooked chains do his bidding. His usual form of attack is summoning these hooks and chains to mutilate victims, often pulling in several directions to rip them apart. These chains are subject to his total mind control and he may direct them at will. The chains may even change shape after having attached to a victim. Pinhead is highly resistant to damage and direct assault, able to shrug off all but the most potent attacks.

His magic is also used for creating objects out of thin air, to teleport, creating explosions at distances and deceiving opponents with illusions. Pinhead is also familiar with the Occult and magic, with an ability to read people's minds. He is at once charismatic and terrifying, and can often persuade others to perform horrific acts to his favor.

-Personality-
Pinhead was once a human who was born in Britain in the Victorian Era in 1887. He served as captain of the British Expeditionary Force in WWI. Spencer was a charismatic and eloquent man, who could feel great empathy and compassion for those around him, however after the Battle of Flanders he suffered a mental breakdown. He did not believe he had a right to live after watching many of his comrades perish in horrific circumstances. He had also lost faith in the human race after witnessing the inhumanity one individual could enact upon another.

This trait continued when he became the Lead Cenobite or 'Pinhead' where his job is to harvest human souls, especially those who open up the puzzle box known as the Lament Configuration. This is often done through terribly brutal means such as chains ripping deep into the flesh of his victims and tearing/pulling, etc.

-Short Bio-
Pinhead originated as Captain Elliott Spencer (c. 1893-1930), an explorer and a British Army veteran who served in World War I living in the far east. His transformation into Pinhead, a.k.a. "Lead Cenobite", "The Angel of Suffering" or "The Dark Prince of Pain", came about through his opening of the Demonic Lament Configuration

Age:
Transcendent

Gender:
Male

Canon:
Fate/Zero

Abilities/Attributes:
Stats - Strength: B
Endurance: C
Agility: A+
Mana: D
Luck: E

Class abilities:
Magic Resistance - Rank B
Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for him to be affected.

Skills:
Eye of the Mind (True) - Rank B
Capable of calm analysis of battle conditions even when in danger and deduce an appropriate course of action after considering all possibilities to escape from a predicament. So long there is even a 1% chance of a comeback, this ability greatly improves the chances of winning.

Mystic Face- Rank C
He possesses a curse of the Mystic Face variety. The curse takes the form of a beauty spot on his face, and causes any woman who looks upon his face to instantly fall in love with him. It can be overcome by individuals with high magical resistance, such as accomplished magi and Servants.

As a Lancer Class servant, he is an extremely accomplished spearman, capable of skillfully using two spears of different lengths with blinding speed and agility. His two Noble Phantasms are his twin spears Gáe Dearg and Gáe Buidhe.

NDLJ5x0.png

Gáe Dearg: Crimson Rose of Exorcism
Rank: B
Type: Anti-Unit
Range: 2-4 meters
Maximum target: 1

A two meter long spear that renders magical enhancements and projections useless by severing all ties with prana. It was passed down to Diarmuid Ua Duibhne from his father, and he normally keeps it wrapped in a talisman cloth to seal its abilities and keep it from revealing his identity. Unlike most other Noble Phantasms, the abilities of the spear are passive in nature. It does not require its name to be called upon in order to be utilized, allowing it to instantly affect whatever it strikes.

The spear will pierce directly through any projection made of prana, such as Saber's summoned armor. Bounded fields, such as Invisible Air, will have small fissures created that slowly chip away at them with each strike, any weapon that is magically enhanced, such as those enhanced by Knight of Honor, will have its enhancements and ability boosts rendered useless when struck by the spear, and any item that acts as a prana source, such as Prelati's Spellbook, will have all connections severed to its recipients.

The nullification is not strong enough to cancel or break the source of the magecraft, making it unable to sever completed magecraft such as contracts exchanged in the past or curses in the way that Rule Breaker completely nullifies them. The effects only last while the tip of Gae Dearg is in contact with the object, which allows it to function as normal after the spear is lifted away. While it is not a weapon one can pride on its destructive power, it can be considered a threatening "anti-Noble Phantasm" and "Noble Phantasm killer" to those that find pride in the power of the armaments, forcing them to defend only by physical means.

Gáe Buidhe: Yellow Rose of Mortality
Rank: B
Type: Anti-Unit
Range: 2-3 Meters
Maximum Target: 1

A cursed spear 1.4 meters long that inflicts wounds that cannot be healed naturally or with magecraft. It was a gift given to Diarmuid Ua Duibhne by Manannán mac Lir, the king of fairies, and he normally keeps it wrapped in a talisman cloth to seal its abilities and keep it from revealing his identity.

Unlike most other Noble Phantasms, the abilities of the spear are passive in nature. It does not require its name to be called upon in order to be utilized, allowing it to instantly actualize its curse of mortality upon striking the enemy. The spear lowers the opponent's maximum health limit, thus limiting healing and regeneration abilities to the point where the opponent received the injury. When Saber receives a light wound on her left arm that severs her tendons, Irisviel is unable to heal it with magecraft due to her being considered in a state of full health. The effect cannot be dispelled, and canceling the curse requires the destruction of the spear or the death of its owner.

Personality:
Lancer is an extremely proud, loyal and noble knight who simply wishes to serve his lord to the best of his abilities. Lancer adheres strictly to the codes of chivalry and upholds his pride as a knight to the fullest, steadfastly believing in honor during battle. While being pursued by the knights of Fionn, he refused to fight against his former comrades. Despite having been presented with several chances to kill either Saber and Kiritsugu, he refuses to do so due to the circumstances with which he can do so are against his code. During his battles with Saber, he attempts to provide for the fairest conditions possible. His code also forbids him from ignoring evil. He is willing to go so far as to destroy Gae Buidhe, so as to allow Saber to use her Noble Phantasm to destroy Caster, simply because Caster himself is a great evil that has to be wiped out despite the fact that he himself has nothing to gain from it.

Short Bio:
Diarmuid Ua Duibhne is the son of Donn, foster son of Aengus Óg, and first warrior of the knights of Fianna. He is known as Diarmuid of the Love Spot, due to a magical love spot granted to him by a young girl. Any woman who gazes upon the spot instantly fell in love with him, which eventually lead to an encounter with Gráinne, the bride of Fionn mac Cumhaill. Gráinne, having fallen in love with Diarmuid at her wedding party, placed a geis upon him to run away with her. They were pursued relentlessly by Fionn, but after much blood was shed, he decided to recognize their marriage, granted Diarmuid a proper title and land, and welcomed them back as subjects.

Sometime later while hunting with Fionn, Diarmuid was fatally injured by a wild boar's fangs. Fionn, who had the ability to transform spring water in to a powerful healing agent was with him, so he had no fear of death. Fionn only needed to walk a few steps to the nearby spring, but with jealousy and hatred towards Diarmuid on his mind, he spilled the water twice. By the third time he went to scoop water, Diarmuid had already succumbed to his wound. Ages past and eventually Diarmuid was summoned as the Lancer-class Servant in the Fourth Holy Grail War.

Name
Kyle Hyde

Age
34

Gender
Male

Canon
Hotel Dusk/Last Window

Abilities/Attributes
He's got police training and is able to keep his cool in most situations. This is attributed to his time in the force, which was almost a decade long. He's also a thoughtful person who has a knack for reading others and finding objects others might miss. However, Kyle can be impatient at times and is prone to sarcasm, which can turn people off. While not quite a physical beast, Kyle has a good amount of physical prowess for a man his age.

Personality
When one first meets Kyle, they're quick to call him surly or rude. It doesn't help that Kyle naturally doesn't have a lot of patience and is known to be rather sarcastic at times. However, Kyle is more than meets the eye. He enjoys solitude and the peace it provides. He likes to relax and reflect on his life and on his choices, often to keep his thoughts organized and remind himself of his goals. Kyle also has an odd goofy side that tends to only come out when he's by himself or when inside his own head. Of course, if Kyle likes being around someone, this side will sometimes come out around them. It's Kyle's true friends who see him as a kind and thoughtful person.

Bio
When Kyle was still an NYC detective, he discovered that his long serving partner and close friend, Brian Bradley, had been selling information to a criminal organization called Nile. Kyle ended up tracking down Bradley to a dock on the Hudson River, where he was forced to shoot Bradley. His partner tumbled into the water, though his dead body was never recovered. Feeling remorse for his actions, Kyle quit his job and instead took up work with Red Crown, a door-to-door sales company. Kyle quit the police force and moved to Los Angeles. However, Kyle was sure that Bradley survived, and so he didn't stop to track down his former partner. He arrived at Hotel Dusk in his search for his former partner, Brian Bradley, and was given Room 215, a room rumored to be able to grant wishes. Kyle found that the hotel had many mysteries as well as connections to his past and Bradley's. Kyle was able to piece together all the clues to the hotel's past, learning the story of what happened to his partner in the process. Leaving the hotel satisfied, Kyle knew that Bradley was still ahead of him. Kyle Hyde settles back to Los Angeles to get back to his normal routine while working with Ed for the Red Crown.

A year later, Kyle Hyde speaks on the phone with Ed Vincent, his boss at Red Crown, who fires him. With nothing left to do, Kyle traveled back to where he lived, Cape West Apartments, but encounters a mysterious woman wearing a hat and sunglasses at the entrance to the building. Soon afterwards, he discovered that the Cape West Apartments are to be demolished at the end of the month, and that all the tenants are to vacate. As he opened his apartment door, he noticed a letter that told him to find out what secrets the apartments held, and an object known as the "Scarlet Star." In the process of his searches, Kyle ends up learning about the murder at the former Hotel Cape West 13 years ago as well as why Kyle's father, Chris Hyde, was killed 25 years ago.

The mysterious letter came as no surprise to Kyle, who was rather used to these unorthodox matters. With no more mysteries left to solve, Kyle felt inclined to investigate this Witch's Game, even if it turned out to be some nasty prank. There was always the chance that Bradley would be waiting.

Thought I'd give HK another shot because he was fun and I didn't get to use him much.

Name: HK-47

Age: The droid's AI is a few centuries old (latest appearance has him at a couple millenia). His actual parts are fairly new, as he's constantly being destroyed/rebuilt.

Gender: Masculine in nature, but doesn't actually have 'gender'.

Canon: Star Wars

Abilities/Attributes:
True to his design as an assassin droid, HK-47 was a dangerous opponent, able to fight effectively in a stealth operation as well as in open combat. His combat programming made him a deadly combatant with a large variety of weapons, including blasters of any design as well as a multitude of droid weapons, such as flamethrowers andcarbonite projectors. HK-47 had a particular affinity for blaster rifles, primarily using the Droid Assassin's rifle and often citing the satisfaction that he derived from using them in many combat scenarios.

As a Jedi hunter, HK-47 was knowledgeable in many techniques for assassinating Jedi, which he explained to Meetra Surik so that she could better defend herself against her enemies. When faced with a Jedi, HK-47 utilized various weapons specifically selected to be most effective against lightsaber techniques, such as grenades, sonic screamers, cluster rockets, plasma charges, poison gas, and mines, all of which exemplified the droid's versatility in combat. These weapons could not be deflected by a lightsaber, and sonic weapons were useful in shattering a Jedi's concentration, preventing one's use of Force powers. Mines and gas were useful in catching a Jedi by surprise, giving HK-47 the advantage in combat. HK-47 also mentioned using a sniper rifle to attack from long range in order to avoid detection. In addition to these weapons, HK-47 often attempted to erode the will of his opponents and make them doubt their beliefs, which he found to be an effective method for weakening their concentration and disrupting their connection to the Force. The droid also found attacking a Jedi's allies or Padawan to be a sound tactic, as Jedi would often sacrifice themselves to save an ally.

In addition to his combat proficiency, HK-47 possessed many other skills. Like many droids, HK-47 was experienced as a mechanic and had at least some knowledge in demolitions and slicing. During his journey with Revan, he could start a fighter simulation so that Revan could practice his skills at manning the turret of the Ebon Hawk. Revan also upgraded HK-47 on various occasions, increasing his overall efficiency. As much of his original programming was based on protocol subroutines, the droid was capable of acting as a translator, voice impersonator, and a protocol droid in many other respects. He was fluent in over 6,000 forms of communication, including Galactic Basic Standard, Tusken, Binary, and Jawa trade language.

Personality:

HK-47's personality programming caused him to appear misanthropic, bordering on sociopathic, to those who encountered him. The droid enjoyed observing—and often causing—death and destruction, showing complete disregard for bystanders on more than one occasion. Despite this, HK-47's programming caused the assassin droid to maintain a protocol of professionalism, preventing him from senselessly slaughtering his way to his target. The only organics HK-47 displayed any respect for were his masters, although he indirectly caused the death of almost all of them. He was more than willing, on several occasions while serving Revan, to dispose of anyone who annoyed the Jedi. From Revan's point of view, the droid was much too eager to act on his programming, which unnerved the amnesiac Jedi.

HK-47 displayed several unique behavioral tendencies as a result of his programming. HK-47 had a definite sense of pride and considered himself to be superior to all organics and droids except for Revan, who was the only person he seemed to admire—mostly for, what the droid considered, the "creative atrocities" that Revan performed as a Sith Lord. The droid also had a peculiar and perverted idea of the concept of love, which he described as "making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope." He further mused that love was a matter of odds and found it odd that although most "meatbags" could not make such a shot, not many would derive a feeling of love from it. HK-47 had a unique speech trait and vocally prefixed every statement he made with a speech conditional that described the type of statement that it was. For example, if asking a question, he would first say "Query:" before beginning to speak.

Due to his appearance, HK-47, as well as his subsequent models, was often mistaken by many for a protocol droid. He used this to his advantage on more than one occasion, hiding his true nature in order to covertly achieve his goals. HK-47 was a proficient killer, as well as highly innovative, using many varied techniques, most notably when hunting Jedi. The Jedi Exile briefly installed the HK protocol pacifist package, which gave HK-47 a short-lived appreciation for peace and pacifism and led him to a deeper understanding of his prey. This upgrade had to be removed, however, for the simple reason that the droid found himself horrified at the very thought of causing harm to another being and by the fact that his new behavior disconcerted the Exile. When the program was removed, HK-47 strongly suggested the Exile scan any future packages before installing them, as the thought of becoming a pacifist in function seemed to appall the droid.

Short Bio: HK-47, an assassin droid built by the Sith Lord Darth Revan, has long since shifted from master to master. His history is full of violence.

HK-47 was originally constructed by the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Revan shortly after the final battle of the Mandalorian Wars in 3960 BBY.[1] Revan was still a Jedi Knight serving as the commander of the Republic forces at this point and decided to resort to extreme tactics to decisively end the war. As a result, the battle devastated the entire surface of Malachor V, where it was fought, and destroyed the majority of the warships on both sides.[9] Not long after the end of the war, Revan and his friend, Malak, fell to thedark side and began making plans to conquer the Republic.[1]

With this goal in mind, Revan constructed HK-47 using Czerka's HK-24 design as a basis for his model and included several of his own upgrades.[11] Not wanting to repeat the devastation caused at Malachor V, Revan turned to using HK-47 to assassinate politicalopponents as a more selective way of achieving his goals.[1] Although he considered himself to be a unique construct, HK-47 bore a close resemblance to the HKB-3 hunter-killer droid produced by Czerka Corporation.[11]

As a result of Revan's programming, HK-47 displayed obedience to those he identified as his master but had little regard for any form of life and was driven by a desire for violence and carnage. HK-47 characteristically used the term "meatbag" when speaking of organic life forms, especially Humans. This insult was originally used in passing by the droid when Revan's apprentice, Darth Malak, had asked what the droid thought of him. In stating his opinion, HK-47 informed Malak of his meatbag status. Revan found the insult, as well as Malak's annoyance, amusing enough to reprogram HK-47 to consider all organics "meatbags."[1] After witnessing HK-47's abilities first-hand, Revan decided that more droids of this design would make efficient agents in his plans to preserve galactic stability. HK-47 became the basis for a new model of HK-series assassin droids: the HK-50s, which were manufactured at a secret facility on the planet Telos IV.[11]

HK-47 continued to serve Revan during theJedi Civil War, a devastating conflict between the Sith Empire that Revan had created after his turn to the dark side, and the Galactic Republic. During this time, HK-47 helped Revan to locate the Star Forge superweapon[12] and also assassinatedbeings who could potentially destabilize the galaxy, which eventually led to a mission intoMandalorian space in 3957 BBY. While HK-47 was on this mission, Revan was captured by the Jedi after Malak turned on his master and fired a volley of turbolaser fire at the bridge of Revan's flagship.[1]

The Jedi High Council ordered Revan's mind to be re-written, and the Sith Lord lost all the memories of his former self, including those of HK-47's existence. Meanwhile, although HK-47 succeeded in his assassination mission, his motor functions were damaged, and he ended up in the possession of a Mandalorian soldier. The Mandalorian reprogrammed and laid claim to the crippled droid, repairing him—though not particularly well in the droid's opinion—and beginning to use the droid to elevate his own rank by having him eliminate his superiors and clear the way for his own promotion.[1]

Eventually, the Mandalorian ordered HK-47 to assassinate the reigning Mandalore. HK-47 failed and was captured by his target, who reprogrammed his objectives to send the droid against his master. The Mandalorian soldier was subsequently terminated. Since HK-47 was programmed to shut down whenever his current master died, he deactivated himself after killing the Mandalorian and was sold to Bochaba the Hutt, a crime lord based on the planet Sleheyron.[1]

HK-47 helped Bochaba to maintain his reputation as the most feared gangster on Sleheyron, terminating 322 targets in a single year before Bochaba was assassinated by his rivals. The droid shut himself down once again after learning of his master's death and was sold to a Human senator on the galactic capital of Coruscant. The Senator first assumed HK-47 to be a mere protocol droid, but one of his assistants later discovered the droid's assassination functions and asked the Senator to destroy him. The Senator instead ordered HK-47 to kill the assistant, and the droid remained with his master, helping him eliminate his political enemies. With his rivals quickly being eliminated, the Senator was on his way to being elected as the Supreme Chancellor, but things did not go as they had been planned.[1]

The next target the Senator ordered HK-47 to kill was his own wife, who, as he had discovered, had been cheating on him. As HK-47 approached the wife and her illicit lover to terminate them both, his master suddenly regretted his order and dove between the droid and his intended victims. Having accidentally terminated his master, HK-47 had no choice but to shut down once more. The Senator's wife later sold him to a low-ranking commercial officer of Systech Corporation. At first, the officer used HK-47 as a protocol and bodyguard droid, but following his discovery of the droid's assassination protocols, the officer sent HK-47 on a mission to eliminate workers of a competitor company that was developing a product which, if launched onto the market, would ruin the officer's career. The officer did not realize that the competing company was, in fact, another branch of Systech Corporation. By the time he realized his mistake, HK-47 had already terminated 104 Systech employees. HK-47 assumed that, being the only officer remaining, his master would be promoted. Instead, the officer, in dismay, attacked the droid. While doing so, the officer pierced one of HK-47's actuators with a writing utensil, resulting in an electric shock that killed him and destroyed the droid's assassination protocols, again forcing the droid to deactivate himself for killing his master.[1]

After the accident with the Systech Corporation officer, HK-47 was sold to Yuka Laka—an Ithorian droid dealer at theAnchorhead settlement on the planetTatooine—who fitted him with a restraining bolt, further restricting the droid's memory and his protocol and assassination protocols. There, HK-47 encountered his original master, Revan, whose mind had been erased by theDantooine Jedi Enclave Council after being injured at the hands of Darth Malak. Revan was once again trying to find the Star Forge and was looking for the Star Map, an ancient artifact located on Tatooine. This time, Revan was acting on behalf of the Jedi Council in order to locate and destroy the superweapon and save the Republic from defeat. Revan purchased the droid for his knowledge of theSand People dialect, as he intended to negotiate with the local chieftain about ceasing attacks against Czerka Corporationpersonnel and could not understand the dialect himself. HK-47 eagerly accompanied Revan, as he disliked Yuka Laka, and acted as a translator when Revan met with thechieftain of the local tribe.[1]

In keeping with his violent programming, HK-47 advocated for simply eliminating the local tribe, but Revan opted for a peaceful method and managed to gain entrance to the Sand People Enclave by using disguises taken from fallen Tusken Raiders. Revan was able to successfully reach an accord with the chieftain by trading two moisture vaporatorshe had bought from the Czerka outpost so that the tribe could journey farther away from the settlement and cease their constant raids. As a sign of appreciation, the chieftain gave Revan his personal gaffi stick as well as a map of the area of Tatooine where the Star Map was located. At that, HK-47 expressed his disappointment at the loss of a chance for combat against the Sand People. HK-47 was present when Revan was allowed to meet with the Sand People storyteller in return for presenting the chieftain with a krayt dragon pearl. HK-47 translated for this meeting as well, cautioning Revan against making any potentially offensive statements.[1]

When Revan later asked HK-47 about the droid's past, he was quite taken aback to discover that the droid had, indirectly or otherwise, been the cause of death of all of his interim owners. This did not stop Revan from making multiple repairs to the droid, despite some trepidation on HK-47's part. Revan eventually restored everything but HK-47's memory core, which was too fragile to attempt to repair manually. Revan laterencountered Malak for the first time since his former Sith apprentice had betrayed him.[1]

This meeting proved to be the stimulus necessary for Revan to remember the truth about his own history. It was also the signal for HK-47's internal programming to unlock and undo the damage to his primary memory core, allowing the droid full access to his entire memory as well as his entire combat and assassination protocol package. HK-47 appeared more than satisfied to be reunited with his master, but later commented that Revan had changed since he had last served him, stating that Revan was more compassionate than before. Despite this, the droid still believed that Revan was just as capable of merciless and necessary actions when required. The droid also expressed his alleged frustration and rage at being absent during Malak's betrayal and his inability to defend Revan from Malak's treachery.[1]

HK-47 remained with Revan until the end of the former Dark Lord's journey, following him to the Star Forge and aiding in the destructionof the superweapon as well as the defeat of Darth Malak. HK-47 was honored with Revan's other companions as a hero of the Republic.[1] Shortly thereafter, more of Revan's memories returned, and the Jedi recalled a threat to the galaxy that he had uncovered as a Sith Lord. HK-47 was left behind with Revan's wife, Bastila Shan when he departed for the Unknown Regions. Revan also had HK-47's memory of the past four years erased so that the droid would not discover his destination.[9] For a short time, Shan left HK-47 with the Jedi Council on Coruscant, hoping his murderous instincts might be calmed.[13]

However, HK-47 was unwilling to stay and wait for his master to return, and when Bastila refused to tell the droid where Revan had gone, HK-47 left to find him. During the droid's attempt to locate Revan, HK-47 was once again heavily damaged and almost entirely dismembered. HK-47's remains were later discovered by one of Revan's other droids, T3-M4, who recovered HK-47 and stored the remains onboard the Ebon Hawk.[9][13]

When Meetra Surik, a former Jedi and one of the few individuals to escape assassination by a new Sith Order, gained ownership of theEbon Hawk in 3951 BBY, she discovered a deactivated HK-47 on board. Using parts retrieved from the imitation HK-50s and a junk dealer on Nar Shaddaa, Surik reactivated HK-47. The droid was enraged when he was informed of the existence of his copies and saw the coloration of his successors and their lack of using the "meatbag" reference—their term was instead "organic"—as signs of their inferiority, believing them to be an insult to himself. Hoping to encounter more of these copies and eventually track them to where they were being created, HK-47 joined Surik on her journey to find and unite the surviving Jedi Masters from the former Jedi High Council after the First Jedi Purge. He also regained a few memories of his past adventure on the Ebon Hawk after Surik reactivated him.[9]

The damage that HK-47 had sustained was not fully repaired by Surik; his assassination protocols were still damaged and his personality had become more violent than it had been during the Jedi Civil War. Much of HK-47's memory was also gone, and because of this, HK-47 did not remember others who had followed the amnesiac Revan, such as T3-M4 or Canderous Ordo, although he did recognize G0-T0, a droid crime lord who also joined Surik. However, HK-47 was unaware that G0-T0 was in fact the employer of the HK-50s from whom Surik retrieved the parts necessary to repair HK-47. HK-47 began to analyze the Ebon Hawk and discovered an anomaly: the ship's navigation computer was locked, making him curious as to where the ship had recently been. Before he could investigate, T3 disabled him and erased his memory of the anomaly. HK-47 continued to follow Surik until after the Battle of Telos IV. During the battle, HK-47 left the group[9] after capturing and torturing an HK-50 unit into telling him the location where the HK-50 models were being produced.[14][15]

HK-47 eventually tracked the HK-50s to theHK Manufacturing Plant under the surface of Telos IV and, upon arrival, persuaded the HK-50s to join his cause. HK-47 then returned with Surik to Malachor V in order to defeat the Sith Lord Darth Traya. However, the Ebon Hawk crashed due to the stormy atmosphereof the planet, where the group was separated. Surik had left instructions to destroy Malachor V, an order that G0-T0 tried to prevent from being carried out, as he viewed the Sith artifacts on the planet to be too valuable to destroy. HK-47 and the HK-50s intervened on Surik's behalf and destroyed their former employer. G0-T0's destruction allowed the remote assistant of Bao-Dur, another companion of Surik, to activate asuperweapon and destroy the planet.

After defeating the Sith, Surik decided to find out what had happened to Revan, and decided to leave HK-47 behind. Before she left known space, she heard from the reformed Jedi Council that HK-47's programming seemed to compel the droid to seek out his master, and the droid had left to search for Revan once again.[13][15]
