Murder Game V: The Reapers' Game

[York]

A janitor walked by and noticed the little Crono fish inside his janitor bucket, along with the little Asha fish on the ground. "How did these little fish get outside of their tanks? Odd," he said to himself, picking up the bucket and the other fish. He walked over to one of the fish tanks and put the two fish inside of it. "There you are," he added before walking away.

Inside the fish tank, there are a couple areas for Crono fish and Asha fish to explore...

Crono looked around, a little glad to be in a better spot, on the downside though he couldn't really see Big Sister anymore, he wasn't even sure why that was a big deal, but, he quickly got distracted looking around. Two distinct places were there, the Sunken Ship model decoration; it looked alot bigger in his state, and a clam decoration, it looked like it was meant to be stuck in a fishtank, but he was also curious about it. Looking towards his partner in this "fishy" business (haha) he wondered where Asha thought they should go.​

Chapter 6: The Silent One

A few hours passed after the players arrived in the White Room. The fact that Uzuki and Kariya had been killed earlier was already a thing of the past with very few of the players worrying about it for the time being. They couldn't just dwell on it, after all. The game had to go on.

Most of the players spent their time looking at the entertaining parts of the facility, unfortunately neglecting their mission. But it was okay; they had plenty of time to take care of the mission.

And at least they weren't neglecting all of their duties.

After Celeste was killed in the Aquarium via a form of electricity, the players took to voting for a traitor as par usual. In the end, the top two people voted where Ryu Keiko--who actually had revealed himself as a traitor earlier--and Ash Williams--whom the others seemed to think was worth the gamble to vote for instead of simply killing Ryu right away.

The two were brought to the central area of the white room to fight out their duel. When pitted against each other, however, Ash took out all of his pins and tossed them onto the ground.

"All of you are wrong. I'm not a traitor. If refusing to fight is the only way to make everyone believe me, then so be it," Ash proclaimed, holding his arms out for Ryu to attack.

Traitor Ryu simply chuckled, not hesitating to attack the man with his onikiri. He cut the man, electrocuted him with his lightning storm pin, and even crushed him with his earthshake pin.

With Ash's dying breath he whispered, "Teresa... Jenny... I'm sorry..."

"Thank you, players, for giving me yet another chance to kill," Ryu said with a laugh, stepping over Ash's corpse before it faded away.

Ash was innocent after all.

The loss of Ash was saddening, but the group continued to go about their business. Surprisingly, for a time after Ash died, nobody else was killed. However, Jenny, who was still missing her player pin, realized her hands were now see through. Her body was slowly fading...

It became eerily quiet inside the White room, as if this period of time was the calm before a storm...

The players then received a text message. The text simply read:

Go to the hedge maze

The text message wasn't signed by the reapers like usual...

The game master, Sho Minamimoto--who was currently at the hedge maze, chuckled after reading the message.

"I wonder if one of those zeros figured out that to complete the mission they need to solve the riddle inside the hedge maze and texted all their friends to let them know. Or, maybe it's just one of the traitors trying to lure them into a trap to die. Oh well, who gives a digit. Either way the players will have to go there sooner or later..."

Lastly, Thanos, who was in the Aquarium back room, discovered some interesting information on their location from a terminal he found.

The White Room

This was a room made by the reapers as one of the possible locations players could be sent to for their missions. Modeled after famed #2 galactic vacation spot: Apalapucia. Apalapucia was a planet known for it's beauty, however, a deadly disease called Chen 7 eventually began to plague its population. The disease would give anyone who contracted it one day to live. So the Apalapucians created a Two Streams facility where the sick could enter. It would slow down the progression of time inside the rooms so they could live out their whole lives in a period of twenty four hours. A viewing room was available for any loved ones who wanted to watch their friends or family with the disease live out the remainder of their lives. This white room location simulates their two stream facility.

Below the information, Thanos can see a button on the screen.

White room escape protocol.

He decides to press the button to see what it tells him.

After he pressed the button, each player can feel a painful sensation on the palms of their hands. They look down to see their countdown timers, which originally had a lot more time left on them, only had one hour now remaining.

Uh oh! They'd all better wrap up their affairs and head to the hedge maze soon...

Those who had died and become reapers were all reunited. Some of them plummeted to the ground after walking out of Konishi's door, but Rocket managed to catch and help some of the ones who didn't use their wings make a swift landing on top of a building.

They all receive a text message afterwards.

The boy has been sighted at the Shibuya River. Hurry and go there immediately!​

Rocket looked at those she managed to help. She then gave a smile. "So sounds like that's are new place to start." She then looked to Pyrrha with a grin. "Ready when you are." She stated and let her wings stretch once more ready to fly she was finally starting to see why flight was Amber's favorite method for battle.

Right, get to Shibuya River. Shouldn't be too hard. Closing his phone with a smack, Minato looked to the others and nodded, "Try to keep up. I don't like my team getting separated too often," Without another word, he ran off the building and took flight. Quickly scanning for the river in question, he could vaguely make out the outline of a serpent-like shape cutting through the city. Bingo. He set off, zooming to find their target.

"Um... I think we should go... to that... hedge maze..." Yuka suggested to everyone present with her. While she knew that they had to go there, she just didn't want to go alone. She was too scared to be on her own anyways...

As Minato and his group step through the door, then find themselves walk out right into...

...Thin air

Immediately Minato, Marie, the Joker, Elizabeth, and Jodie start falling through the air!

Konishi poked her head out the door and yelled to them, "Now is about time you start learning to use your wings if you don't want to die again," she said with a smirk.

Meanwhile, Pyrrha and Rocket see the new group appear and start to plummet toward the ground...​

Marie screamed at the top of her lungs.

Air whooshed past her, and tears made her vision blurry. Panic and adrenaline coursed through her body as she fell. Shock clouded her thoughts. The others fell with her, and Minato opened his... Wings? Wait.

It was then that Marie realized she had long, feathery, black wings sticking out of her back in a slit in her dress.

Black? Ew. So dark. Though I guess I could make it work.

After her quick fashion check, the French woman then put together that she was falling and had wings. She extended them, the sensation of controlling new limbs on her body strange, and felt herself be jolted upwards from her wings.

Oh, what do I do, what do I do? Flap them?

She was flying. Woah. People began going towards the top of a building, and she followed, clumsily trying to steer. She hope nobody could see up her dress.

Two other reapers helped the others, and Marie faintly recognized them. Other dead players? She felt a buzz in her pocket, and got out her phone, reading the text. She looked at the others, waiting to hear what they'd say, when Minato took off. Already. She frowned her pink lips and took off after him, seeing the river and descending shakily. Her feet hit the ground with a hard thud, and her legs gave out, making her fall on her butt. She quickly got back up and started running after the boy.

After receiving the new text message and the new timer on her hand, Yuka had the strongest feeling that they should probably get moving...

"Um... I think we should go... to that... hedge maze..." Yuka suggested to everyone present with her. While she knew that they had to go there, she just didn't want to go alone. She was too scared to be on her own anyways...

"Lead the way, then. I will follow... to the best of my ability," she spoke, somewhat glad that she managed to somehow get out of paying that weird Billy Mays guy. If she stayed there any longer, she probably would've ended up deaf with that man's yelling, and she really didn't need to become the next Helen Keller.

Still, it did annoy her to some extent that she didn't get to see the actual movie they had entered as a result of the interruption. Ciel suspected she wouldn't get another chance like this, but no matter. As long as she could still walk, she could still fight.

As Asha pondered whether or not to go to the sunken ship decoration, he couldn't help with everything that was happening - and his form - to wonder if this is how it would end for him. Stuck unable to move forwards, dying as a fish.

 

[Midnight Maiden]

Glancing at her phone after the text, Teresa sighed, looking to Jack. "Alright.. Looks like we need to head to the the maze," she mused. "Here.." She went to scoop up the little girl, cradling her in her arms. She then looked to the dog, nodding her head. "Are you coming with, too?" Shaking her head, she looked back to Jack. "Uhh.. Follow me, I guess." And, with that, she began heading towards where they'd started. She figured they could get to the maze from there.

In all honesty, Teresa was fairly upbeat. Nobody else had died, from what she knew.. And she kept telling herself Ash and Jenny were alright. After all.. It wasn't like she'd actually done anything to really be their savior in the first place. Right? They'd be fine without her.. She was certain.

But, apparently not. Quite the opposite.

When Teresa found herself in the white room again, she was quick to see that Ash was less than alright. He'd been voted a traitor, and would have to duel. Instantly, Teresa's heart began to hammer extremely fast, and she tried to get to her friend, panicking. However, it seemed she couldn't get into the arena. "No!" she exclaimed, watching with horror. "NO, STOP!" she demanded Ryu, though her protests weren't heeded. And, next thing she knew...

...He was gone.

Tears rapidly streamed down the ravenette's face, and she scurried to reach her friend's side. But, just as she got there and she reached for him... He was gone.

"No..." she murmured. "Ash.. I'm so, so sorry.." she sobbed, reaching to where the man had laid mere moments ago. Her hand was shaking visibly, as was the rest of her, and sobs wracked her body. She seemed barely capable of holding the child in her arms anymore. However, she knew she needed to pull herself together. Her shaking hand clenched, and she stilled herself, sadness now mixing with an intense rage. Slowly, she climbed to her feet, adjusting her hold on the girl, body tense. "..Don't worry, Ash... I will avenge you...." she promised, determinedly. "....Even if it's the last thing I do.."

Tears still streaming down her face, Teresa returned to heading for the maze. Which, was where she noticed Jenny. Oh, great... I let them BOTH down... Immediately, the glader rushed to Jenny, looking her over somewhat frantically. "Oh, God, Jenny... The hell did you get yourself into?" she muttered, before shaking her head. Suddenly, she came to realization. "..Your player pin." Blinking, she fumbled for her own player pin, producing it and holding it out to Jenny. "Here. Take it, no questions," she ordered. "Now.. I need your help with something. Quick. We don't have much time, and I can't blow it, or pull it off without your help. And it's important you listen closely.. Okay?"

Jenny, still affected by the mindswap curse, was still trying to get what just happened through her head. So Ryu was definitely a traitor, there was no denying it. And then Ash... The two didn't hang out for too long, but still, he had helped her and she had helped him... Just as she was about to enter the hedge maze, she was approached by Teresa. Jenny turned to Emma and said "Excuse me for a second." before turning back to Teresa, who offered her her own player pin.

"... Why would you try to help me?" she said. Her accent and voice were still the same, but her way of talking still seemed different, somehow. "I mean, someone like me...?" She then just looked at Teresa for a few moments, remaining silent until she pushed the woman's hand back, refusing the pin. "I can't accept that, you know I can't. I won't let you risk being eliminated for my sake. Now, what can I help you with?"

Round 6: The Silent One

A few hours passed after the players arrived in the White Room. The fact that Uzuki and Kariya had been killed earlier was already a thing of the past with very few of the players worrying about it for the time being. They couldn't just dwell on it, after all. The game had to go on.

Most of the players spent their time looking at the entertaining parts of the facility, unfortunately neglecting their mission. But it was okay; they had plenty of time to take care of the mission.

And at least they weren't neglecting all of their duties.

After Celeste was killed in the Aquarium via a form of electricity, the players took to voting for a traitor as par usual. In the end, the top two people voted where Ryu Keiko--who actually had revealed himself as a traitor earlier--and Ash Williams--whom the others seemed to think was worth the gamble to vote for instead of simply killing Ryu right away.

The two were brought to the central area of the white room to fight out their duel. When pitted against each other, however, Ash took out all of his pins and tossed them onto the ground.

"All of you are wrong. I'm not a traitor. If refusing to fight is the only way to make everyone believe me, then so be it," Ash proclaimed, holding his arms out for Ryu to attack.

Traitor Ryu simply chuckled, not hesitating to attack the man with his onikiri. He cut the man, electrocuted him with his lightning storm pin, and even crushed him with his earthshake pin.

With Ash's dying breath he whispered, "Teresa... Jenny... I'm sorry..."

"Thank you, players, for giving me yet another chance to kill," Ryu said with a laugh, stepping over Ash's corpse before it faded away.

Ash was innocent after all.

The loss of Ash was saddening, but the group continued to go about their business. Surprisingly, for a time after Ash died, nobody else was killed. However, Jenny, who was still missing her player pin, realized her hands were now see through. Her body was slowly fading...

It became eerily quiet inside the White room, as if this period of time was the calm before a storm...

The players then received a text message. The text simply read:

Go to the hedge maze

The text message wasn't signed by the reapers like usual...

The game master, Sho Minamimoto--who was currently at the hedge maze, chuckled after reading the message.

"I wonder if one of those zeros figured out that to complete the mission they need to solve the riddle inside the hedge maze and texted all their friends to let them know. Or, maybe it's just one of the traitors trying to lure them into a trap to die. Oh well, who gives a digit. Either way the players will have to go there sooner or later..."

Lastly, Thanos, who was in the Aquarium back room, discovered some interesting information on their location from a terminal he found.

The White Room

This was a room made by the reapers as one of the possible locations players could be sent to for their missions. Modeled after famed #2 galactic vacation spot: Apalapucia. Apalapucia was a planet known for it's beauty, however, a deadly disease called Chen 7 eventually began to plague its population. The disease would give anyone who contracted it one day to live. So the Apalapucians created a Two Streams facility where the sick could enter. It would slow down the progression of time inside the rooms so they could live out their whole lives in a period of twenty four hours. A viewing room was available for any loved ones who wanted to watch their friends or family with the disease live out the remainder of their lives. This white room location simulates their two stream facility.

Below the information, Thanos can see a button on the screen.

White room escape protocol.

He decides to press the button to see what it tells him.

After he pressed the button, each player can feel a painful sensation on the palms of their hands. They look down to see their countdown timers, which originally had a lot more time left on them, only had one hour now remaining.

Uh oh! They'd all better wrap up their affairs and head to the hedge maze soon...

Rocket looked at those she managed to help. She then gave a smile. "So sounds like that's are new place to start." She then looked to Pyrrha with a grin. "Ready when you are." She stated and let her wings stretch once more ready to fly she was finally starting to see why flight was Amber's favorite method for battle.

Pyrrha flapped her wings, holding sword and shield. She nodded. "To Shibuya River! Ready yourselves, friends! We might just have a tough fight ahead!" she shouted, soaring off towards the river, flying low through the city streets, to avoid being spotted easily.

She frowned at the rejection, evidently not pleased. "Just.. Take it. If my plan works, nobody's gonna vanish," she instructed, only offering the pin again. She wasn't giving up that easy.

Glancing at Emma once more, Teresa looked to Jenny again after doing so, uncertain if she should let the woman listen in. In the end, she decided that, with the risk she was taking, it didn't matter. What mattered right now was hurrying to get this done before anyone vanished. Err.. Anyone important.

"I need you to help me get to Ryu. Fast. It's extremely important," she stated, firmly, though only loud enough for Jenny and Emma to hear. She didn't need anyone else coming at them. "And if you want both of us to make it out of here and a traitor put out, we really need to hurry."

Frank sighed, standing up as he took off his glasses. "Alright. Then let's talk insurance." He somewhat came off annoyed but listened to her either way. "Whaddya want?" Frank rubbed his eyes, albeit at the moment, his naivety didn't let him understand any of her advances but he accepted either way.

Flo was freaking excited that Frank was down with listening to her rant on about insurance. Thus, she began to talk his hear off about car insurance. "By switching to progressive you might even save enough money to get yourself a big tricked out name tag like mine," she said, flashing her name tag at him.

But then Frank ran out.

"Waiiiiit! Come back!"

Emma Frost, once they finally arrived at the long-awaited hedge maze, looked around at the massive arrangements, and pondered at the two options in front of them. "I've never been one to be completely on a straight path, honestly speaking," she said to Ashabel, "so, I'll say we'll check out the left path."

She thought about it, as she turned left. "It's usually a little more fun to stray from the straight and narrow, anyway."

But, Teresa stated a need for help. "Very well," Emma said to Teresa. "Consider me a part of your efforts. But, what do you need from me?"

~Deep Within the Hedge Maze~

Hands softly clenched together into fists, a lone woman standing tall and proud deep within the heart of the Hedge Maze. Before the announcement had been made, the masked enigma had hastily made her way into the maze for intentions unclear and unknown. Destiny pushed her forwards, the gleaming hopes of her dreams and ambitions fading and flickering, but holding that ever desirable flame that drew her like a moth. Pink lips tightened, the behemoth of steel reaching up as she grasped the sides of her helm. Slowly, and surely, the Big Sister began to remove her helm, raven hair cut to a fine bob flowing gracefully outwards.

The sound of steel hitting the earth could be heard, almost hauntingly echoing through the Hedge Maze. In mere moments, the entire facade of the Big Sister had evaporated into thin air. What was thought to be was merely a lie, and the hulking mass of armor was nothing more than that- armor. As a gentle breeze blew by, the raven-haired woman arose her head, a scarlet scarf wrapped precisely around her neck beginning to flutter in the wind. Still wearing the rest of the Big Sister suit, the lone enigma paced lonesomely in the maze, unsure if she was lost in the maze or lost within herself.

There is still time

"No..." she spoke clearly now, her voice stern yet soft. The decision had already been made, the contract already signed. From the very beginning, up to this very point, the 'Big Sister' knew her purpose in this game. It had already been laid out for her in the beginning, all the way to this very crucial moment. A storm was brewing upon the horizon, and in her mind, the 'Big Sister' was it's harbinger. With one heavy breath, the 'Big Sister' braved forward, a woman of few words yet bold, brave actions. Her steps, heavy and unsteady, somehow kept her afoot, the thumping of her heart pushing her forwards like the pounding of war drums.

Memories, like phantoms in the night, called and cried out to her to remind her of what she left behind. A knight in shining, glorious armor revering a sunlight boldly charging into the unknown with a blond maiden wearing an icy dress by her side. Two huntresses navigating the woods together, both protective and caring of one another of a sisterhood thought to be sacred and eternal. Then...there was Him. Her lips quivered, reaching outwards, vainly, ever so vainly, to feel his touch before he faded into a mist. For the briefest of moments, a pang of guilt struck her heart, but a soldier's duty and honor prevailed reluctantly in the end.

With one final breath, the Big Sister vanished into the depth of the Hedge Maze, her crimson scarf waving behind her as one phrase escaped her lips, almost masked by the ghastly cooing of a breeze.

"Forgive me..."
