Reaper Jack

Jack followed on behind; checking for obstacles and potential threats as they went. He discovered none. Everything was eerily quiet. Not even any ambient noise could be heard, no birds, no cars, nothing. It was like the whole city was in a time lapse; with nothing happening.Laura stayed a few meters back from Jack as he scanned the room with his torch. Looking to see of any indecators as to anything useful. Unfortnately after a good look nothing came up. Blank again. Oh well, she was sure they could find another weapon of kinds somewhere, or even again something just to help makeshift a weapon. Just to be on the safe side.
"Lovely, I dont think they can help us though. Unless we need a human sheild." She said with a small hint of a smile as she folded her arms across her chest loosely.
"So I guess last stop is the ambulence station then...out--there."
Guessing the ambulence station would be on the ground floor meant they would need to go back downstairs, past the severed head and the dead body lying at the bottom of the stair well. Delightful. But they couldn't avoid such things.
"Down we go." Without another word she quietly opened the door to the stair well and prepared herself for the stench of rotting flesh again as she decended the stairs back down to the floor where they started.
Looking at the window as they descended the stairs; he was reminded that it was night out; and he had only a shirt. On one hand, it would be kind of funny if he died from hypothermia now. On the other hand; it really wouldn't. He made a mental note to check for a jacket or coat as well. Laura's lab coat should keep her warm enough; hopefully.
They passed the severed head and the corpse of the woman Jack had accidentally killed; the stench was unimaginable; Jack had to pull up the collar of his shirt and place it over his nose to even be able to bear it. He averted his eyes from the body; there was no use reminding himself of what happened. It wouldn't help. They passed the area. Jack spoke to Laura then.
"See a sign for the place yet?"
