Murder IX: Right Hand of the Crimson Moon

latest

Themed around Type-Moon, notably Fate/stay night and Tsukihime, along with some possible elements of Fate/Extra, and Raildex, notably A Certain Magical Index with some elements of A Certain Scientific Railgun.

In context of the Murder Series, it will chronologically follow Murder VIII: Legend of Zelda Extravaganza and Murder VIII½: Illusion Breaker. In context of Type-Moon, it will take place concurrently with the events of Fate/stay night and Melty Blood. In context of Raildex, it will take place during the British Royal Family Arc and DRAGON Arc, before leading into the World War III Arc. It should also be noted that this follows alternate versions of the Document of Constantine and Battle Royale Arcs, as well as the epilogue of Tsukihime and the prologue of Fate/stay night, resulting in some details being changed from the original franchises due to the events of the earlier Murder Games.

Synopsis

ieMfVNg.jpg

There are infinite worlds out there. Dimensions different from our own. And there are some who can travel between these worlds and dimensions. To some, this is known as the Multi-Dimensional Refraction Phenomenon, or more simply, the Second Magic. It is a power sought after by many. One legendary artifact is rumored to be able to perform the Second Magic, to travel through these different dimensions, known as the Jeweled Sword of Zelretch, wielded by the mysterious Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg, one of the oldest and most powerful mages ever.

Power in itself is an item sought after heavily, and those with power can only seek more. Like so, a powerful yet ambitious magician named Fiamma of the Right, also known as the head of the organization God's Right Seat, has managed to acquire a fake copy of the Jeweled Sword of Zelretch from Rin Tohsaka, hoping to obtain absolute power.

However, the misuse of the copied, false Jeweled Sword has created a rift in space, time, and reality, causing the dimensions to collide into one another and essentially combine, bringing together worlds undergoing great wars. However, this also results in a group of unlikely "heroes” banding together to defeat Fiamma of the Right and restore balance to the multiverses, guided by those who wish to aid them.

However, the road will be difficult, filled with many obstacles. Traitors will be lurking within the band, as well as a number of other obstacles in the way. Will they be able to restore the balance before it's too late?

Roles

5Pauqks.png

Survivors - The standard role. Your main objective is to thwart the schemes of the villains and uncover the Traitors before endgame.

Traitors - The murderers who will attempt to destroy the group from inside out by killing a Survivor each round, acting for possible reasons like being mind-controlled by the villain, voluntarily working for him, etc.

Agents - A small group of participants who have the ability to investigate suspects and determine if they're Traitors without fail. Like how a Traitor may only submit one kill per round for the most part, Agents may only choose to "investigate" one person per round to see if they are guilty.

Notes

Lqwxuhq.jpg

1. I'd highly advise joining the Murder Series group if you're a newcomer. You'll be able to interact with the other players there, among other people, in the chat thread, and keep up with the game in the RP Discussion thread as well! This is also useful to prevent any OOC talk inside the IC, which is greatly discouraged.

2. Compared to previous Murder Events, this will have a slightly different afterlife system. While those who have been murdered may still get the chance to be revived and reunite with the main group, these opportunities, compared to other events, will be few and far between, as this afterlife system will involve a background plot that will eventually tie into the primary plot.

3. As a student, I'd like to say in advance that there won't be any GMing on my part on weekdays until around 3:30 PM CST at the earliest, though I'll likely be available for the majority of the days on weekends, not factoring in the possible homework and testing that I'll have to focus on as well. Still, hopefully this shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as the co-GMs I've picked, @OrlandoBloomers and @TheSpringwoodSlasher, do well at keeping it afloat in my absence. I'll do my best to keep in contact with you all in the Murder Series group, so don't worry about me disappearing too much.

Rules

NooJ84i.jpg

1. Naturally, Iwaku's rules apply here.

2. Knowledge of the previous Murder Games, or the Type-Moon or Raildex franchises, are not required to participate in this.

3. Only a limited amount of duos are allowed in the game. OCs are free game though.

4. Depending on how strong your character exactly is in their respective canon, they may have to nerf them so they don't completely own everything in sight and essentially prevent any godmodding. There's no fun if there's no challenge after all. Meta-gaming is also not allowed, though concerning Traitor votes, OOC voting will not be punished.

5. I'd love for everyone vote every round, but I realize some people might just not have the time. At the very least, I want everyone to post at least once each round. As each round should last a few days at the least, that comes to posting at least once every few days, which is pretty fair I think. If you become inactive and don't post, your character will likely be eliminated in some manner.

6. Due to the size and speed of the game, it is practically a requirement to seek out other users to be your "posting partners" so that you have some people you can stick with. Using the tagging system is absolutely required.

7. To traitors, all kills will be done through a special group PM. To agents, all investigations will be done through a similar PM. By extension, duos will act as one character. Thus, when one dies, the other part of the duo will also be killed. Same goes for when they are investigated, and when they vote.

8. In the sign-ups, reserves will only last for roughly 2 days. If you have not made a character sheet by then, your reserve will be revoked, though you may still make a character sheet if there is still available room afterwards.

Appearance

Name

Illyasviel "Illya" Einzbern

Age

Biologically appears to be around 13

Canon

Type-Moon

Powers / Abilities / Attributes

Powerful mage. Full extent of her powers are to be revealed in the RP.

Personality

Illya is cheerful and outgoing, upbeat and generally exhibits a positive attitude. Possessing a friendly demeanor, she is easy to talk to and tends to be playful and mischievous. Deep inside, however, Illya is lonely as she has no friends her own age to play with and is often stuck inside the Einzbern castle honing her magecraft. She asks those she feels comfortable around to call her "Illya."

It can be said that Illya gets her outward personality from her mother. Like her mother, she is kind and has the qualities of a child. However, she also has a measure of her father in her, as she can be callous and kill others without remorse.

Weaknesses

Childish and somewhat naive. Not used with much social interaction, despite being somewhat outgoing.

Fears

Being completely alone.

Noble Phantasm

The Dress of Heaven - To be revealed in the RP.

[fieldbox="Reece Duchannes, lime, dashed, 10, andale mono"]
"Sorry to disappoint you. He's not evil. He's just a jerk. Sometimes it's a fine line."

    Name: Reece 'Annabel' Duchannes

    Age: 18-19

    Canon: The Caster Chronicles

Appearance: Reece is described as pale-skinned, and having long blonde hair similar to that of her sister- Ridley -'s, although much straighter and with a neater style of choppy bangs. often wearing it in neat and scholarly-looking up-dos. Her eyes, however, are where the difference comes into play; while Ridley has gold eyes, and Ryan has bright blue, Reece has brilliant eyes of an almost unnatural green color. She's somewhat tall, but not especially so. Unlike Ridley, her choice of dress is very modest and professional.

Powers / Abilities: Reece a Light Sybil. Sybil is a term for a Caster, that are able to "read" faces of people, discovering the truth behind the lies, seeing what they have done, who they have seen, where they have been, and much more. However, many restrictions apply to this for nerfing reasons :D. Reece is also proven to be a very capable Caster, having studied all sorts of Casts very thoroughly. As such, she knows basic Casts, as well as telekinesis, conjuring basic items, etc.

Personality: Reece is.. Well, what many would call a stiff, and a goody-two-shoes. She adheres very strictly to the rules, and expects others to do so as well. However, despite her very good-girl and occasionally bossy attitude, she's very kind deep down. Although, this can be difficult to spot, through her sassy know-it-all and goody-goody attitude.

    Weaknesses
-Bossy: Oftentimes, Reece is a bit too strict to the rules. She gets fairly bossy every once in a while, and has also proven to have quite the attitude. This was given away when she taunted Ridley by reading her face at the first family gathering Rid had attended since being disowned.
-Insecure: Despite her seemingly large ego, Reece actually seems to be a bit insecure, trying to mask this by boasting her intellect.
-Overprotective: This is probably just Reece's way of showing she cares, and trying to protect others, and maybe even is just a piece of her bossiness. Regardless, Reece is definitely overprotective. Ironically enough, she isn't the best at upholding this.

    Fears
-Failing to protect her family and loved ones
    -Failing tests
    -Being lonely

    Skills
    -Amazing at Casting
-Good Memory/great at recalling things and reciting knowledge
-Smart: Reece puts the stereotype of blondes being stupid to absolute shame. Gal's smart as hell and just as fiery.[/fieldbox]

[fieldbox="Ryan Duchannes, aqua, dashed, 10, Georgia"]
    210ca7c15e.jpg
    [/fieldbox]
[fieldbox="Ryan Duchannes, aqua, dashed, 10, Georgia"]
"If you two do anything disgusting and you need me, I'll be downstairs."

    Name: Ryan Duchannes

    Age: 10

    Canon: The Caster Chronicles

Appearance: Ryan has long blonde hair reaching down past her shoulders, occasionally falling in a curly or wavy fashion, or done in braids or ponytails. Her skin is fairly pale, making her big stunning and oddly bright sky-blue eyes stand out even more. She's of a very petite, frail and thin body type; her frailness made more obvious by how soft her skin is. However, don't let this size fool you; she could hug you so tight you'd struggle to breathe.

Powers / Abilities: As a Caster, Ryan has rather basic magical abilities. Things such as manifestation of relatively average items, mild telekinesis, etc. Because she's a long ways from her Sixteenth Moon, her powers haven't yet fully manifested. However, she has been proven to be an excellent healer; with the strongest healing she's managed to accomplish being saving someone from a heart attack. She has to touch someone, physically, to heal them.. So if you're in need of healing, you better get some cuddle time with this kid and you'll be fixed right up.

Personality: Ryan is.. More than likely to be the sweetest, most innocent, thoughtful, loving, and downright adorable girl you will ever meet. Her innocence is unmatched, and she's excellent at making friends due to her friendly and outgoing nature. She can be a bit naive and/or uncertain sometimes.

    Weaknesses
-Naive: This is probably Ryan's biggest weakness. She's terribly naive, and sees the best in people even when it isn't there. She's also incredibly trusting, making her easy to deceive.
-Cares too much: While this could be considered a good trait, it makes for hell for Ryan when someone she cares for gets hurt, goes missing, etc. So if any of that happens... You'd best shield her eyes and tell her they're just on vacation. Or if they're injured, let her heal them up.
-Too Sweet: Yeah.. Maybe the constant kindness can get a little annoying.
-Too Trusting: Going alongside her naivete and sweetness, Ryan trusts others way too much for her own good.

    Fears
-Seeing death/suffering that she can't fix

    Skills
-Cheering people up: While physical healing is Ryan's main field, the girl is excellent at mental and emotional healing through conversing. Whether or not this is a power or just something about her personality is unknown.
-Running: For someone of her age and size.. Ryan can be pretty damn fast.
-Petite: Not a skill, but Ryan's small stature allows for easily getting into small, tight spaces. This can come in handy quite often.
-Giving Affection: Bring on the hugs and piggyback rides, biotches

    Noble Phantasm:
Heaven Unto Earth - Unlike her typical healing power, this will allow Ryan to touch someone anywhere(even if not on their wounds, specifically, like she typically must do), and they will be totally healed near immediately.
However, this tactic will leave Ryan totally drained, causing an effect on her similar to that of wound transference; she will feel the pain of that she took away from others, be it physical, mental, or emotional.[/fieldbox][/hr]

    Name:
    Ethel
    Age:

    16
    Canon:
    Fairy Fencer F
    Powers / Abilities / Attributes:
Ethel is an assassin type character who uses a bow Fury. It can also transform to a scythe, spear, gun, or knuckle.

Ethel's specialty is Assassinate. In exchange of some of her turns, it gives her a chance to instantly kill an enemy. However it will not always succeed.

As for skills, Ethel has ice type skills, in addition to support skills. Lunatic Dance is her only neutral-attribute offensive skill.

Here's a wiki link and a video showcasing it. Start it at 8:54

    Ethel/Skills

Additionally, Ethel can Fairize, like all other Fencers, which gives her a power boost.

    Personality:
Ethel has a very machine-like personality. She often speaks in somewhat soft voice and her sentences are very succinct. Initially all she used to say was the word "kill" while her Fairy, Karin, would interpret her words for her. However, after meeting Fang for the second time after he returned to the past and joining his party, she began to speak like a normal person under his request.
    Weaknesses:
Though 16, is separated so much from normal life.
    Fears:
    None
    Noble Phantasm:
Supernova: Can only be used in Fury Form. Ethel roots herself to the ground and shoots out a giant laser that deals tons of ice-attribute damage.

  • Name:
    Karin
    Age:
    16
    Canon:
    Fairy Fencer F
    Powers / Abilities / Attributes:
Karin is Ethel's Fairy partner. While she does possess power, she only transfers her power to Ethel's Fury during battle.
    Personality:
Karin speaks very politely and has a general sunny disposition towards everyone. She is also shown the care about Ethel and only wants her to be happy. She is a very kind fairy who only rarely is seen unhappy or sad or in some cases, frustrated. She used to be Ethel's translator when all Ethel could say was "kill" but when Fang refused to kill her and let her join his party Karin was happy to say that her translating days had come to an end.
    Weaknesses:
    None
    Fears:
Fearing that Ethel not being a normal human at the end.
    Noble Phantasm:
    None

Name: Sogiita Gunha

Age: 16

Canon: Toaru Majutsu no Index

Powers / Abilities / Attributes:
It's not explained very well, or really at all. All explanations for his powers are immediately debunked by someone who happens to hear them.

But he's pretty strong, fast, and durable. Somehow he can punch at a distance, but nobody knows how. He can also create a wall of pressure, somehow. He can also create a force field he calls Aurora Guard, but how it works isn't explained. He can also heal his own injuries, somehow. He can yell really loud and make explosions appear, somehow.

It probably all works cause "guts" though.

Personality: Hot-blooded and impulsive, and tends to act before thinking. He's pretty dense, but is good-natured and doesn't give up.

Weaknesses: Doesn't know his own ability, not the brightest guy, has a code of honor

Fears: Idk, not having guts?

Ryuuko_zps2mipbihm.png

Name: Ryuko Matoi

Age: 17

Canon: Kill La Kill

Powers / Abilities / Attributes:
Superhuman speed, strength, durability, resistance to mind control and a remarkable healing factor from a combination of her Kamui Senketsu and her life fiber infused hybrid nature. Senketsu himself comes in many forms, granting extra abilities such as flight. Wields hardened Scissor Blade. Absolutely understanding if needed to be nerfed.

Personality:
Ryuko is a fierce and stubborn person determined to get whatever she wishes, no matter who stands in her way. She fears very little on that regard. She is also strongly devoted to her friends, standing up for them without any hesitation whether it's Mako, Senketsu or someone else. A hot-blooded delinquent biker with a foul mouth who also really enjoys just being silly with her friends when she can.

Weaknesses:
Her straightforward blunt approach goes to the point of recklessness at times. Overtaxing of her Kamui can knock her out.

Fears:
Losing Senketsu or Mako. Also needles

Noble Phantasm:
Super Saiyan If allowed, Senketsu Kisaragi: Senketsu's ultimate form to massively boost Ryuko's physical power for one single strike.

((Found an image that both parallels Annabeth's, and is an older form of him!))

Name: Percy Jackson

Age: 16

Canon: The Percy Jackson series. This incarnation comes from between "The Last Olympian" and "Son of Neptune"

Powers / Abilities / Attributes: He has a sword that looks like a pen that can return to him when he loses it. He can speak and read Ancient Greek, he can breathe underwater, and can fight better near water.

Personality:

Percy is a brave, spirited natural leader, and is willing to risk his life to save friends, family, strangers, and sometimes even enemies. He has a sarcastic and smart sense of humor, a laid-back demeanor, and has earned the respect of all the Olympians, including Artemis (who strictly dislikes men), Dionysus (who hates most heroes because of what happened with Ariadne), and Hades(who generally hates people). He also earned the trust and respect of the Romans of Camp Jupiter (who usually don't trust Greeks). Percy remains true and never goes back on his word. However, he is definitely not perfect. Percy is somewhat short-tempered, and thus has trouble controlling his anger (such as when he sees bullying) and tends to do or blurt out things before thinking, no matter the consequences, causing him to get into a lot of trouble. He also feels responsible for everyone and anything which goes wrong.

Many people tell him he is brave such as friends, family, strangers, and even gods and goddesses. He also states that he has the same "brooding" look as his father, that always branded him a rebel, and that his mom also has a rebellious streak just like him. Annabeth Chase mentions that he is technically smart but seems to act dumb; and is obtuse, meaning he doesn't always see the obvious even when it is right in front of him, such as people's feelings and what they are trying to see indirectly. Despite this he is perceptive when he wants to (or needs to) be; he could tell that Gaea wanted to keep him alive and gambled his life knowing that he was too valuable to Gaea for him to die at that time. Percy can also be derisively sarcastic and moody, and he dislikes being manipulated or forced to obey. Percy also has small feelings for Annabeth Chase at the beginning of the series and these feelings became romantic over the course of the series, but he finally confirms it in the The Last Olympian. Although Percy is a leader at Camp Half-Blood, he is considered a troublemaker in school, with a track record of expulsions, like most demigods. His dyslexia makes learning and reading difficult, and his ADHD makes it hard for him to be attentive or to sit still in class. He has never been one of the "cool" kids in class because he hangs out with supposedly "un-cool" people, such as Tyson or Grover Underwood. Possibly because of his bad history in school, Percy feels a strong level of affection and attachment to Camp Half-Blood.

After getting his memories taken by Hera, and living on the streets and fighting monsters, Percy has developed a "wolf stare" that says "No matter how bad you think you are, I'm worse," which enables him to scare off people like gangsters. He is not afraid of anything in the mortal world anymore, including gangs. He notes that it is probably Lupa's influence on him, as he stayed with her and her pack for weeks. Despite being very confident in his own abilities, Hazel Levesque can sense there is a quiet sadness in Percy, like he saw his destiny and knew that one day he would face a monster he couldn't beat (similar to how she feels about Jason Grace). In The House of Hades, Hazel states that Percy was a child of Poseidon's better nature: powerful, but gentle and helpful, a person that would guide ships safely to the shore rather than destroy them.

While in Tartarus in The House of Hades, Percy is starting to show a darker and more dangerous side of himself in his personality. He begins to question himself about his morality, and if he's really a good hero or not. He wonders about the people he had previously treated with apathy: Bob, Calypso and Nico di Angelo. After his return, Percy tries to make up for his tattered relationship with Nico by thanking him for visiting Iapetus and leading the Seven to the Necromanteion. While battling Akhlys, Percy taps into his rage and controls poison to overwhelm Akhlys—to the point where even Annabeth is terrified of him. In Tartarus, there are many instances where Percy feels hopelessness and fear, although he ultimately overcomes it. He's shown to be more prone to aggression when he vows to destroy Gaea and avenge Bob and Damasen, something which does not seem to disappear towards the end of the book.

Weaknesses: Is dyslexic and ADHD, Gets cocky and lax when he thinks he can win. Has a deep loyalty to his friends, and will go to great lengths to defend them, even controlling the water in someone's body. Requires someone like Annabeth to help him sometimes. He has undying loyalty, and that's his fatal flaw.

Fears: Drowning? (I don't even), Death, Losing the ones he trusts, and flying (Poseidon's Kids and Zeus don't mix.)

Noble Phantasm:

Aqua Prima:

Percy has the ability to control massive amounts of water. Basically like a water bender. This origin comes from his father, Poseidon, Greek God of the Sea.

Name: Captain Hector Barbossa

Age: Mid 50s

Canon: Pirates of the Caribbearn

Powers/Abilities/Attributes: Barbossa is one of the finest swordsmen in all of the 7 seas. Furthermore, he's skilled in every aspect pf piracy-pilfering, stealing, robbing, taking, killing, and setting fire to things. He's an expert gunfighter. Also, his pet monkey, Jack, can reach high places, and is an expert pickpocket.
He's an expert navigator and Captain.

Personality: Barbossa is a cutthroat savage, but follows some degree of moral code (such as parts of The Pirate Code).
He's ruthlessly determined, and eternally crafty and devious. He's a master of his own ship, easily taking commands of large groups.
Also, he's the ultimate pirate
stereotype.

Weaknesses: 'His noble and forgiving nature' apparently. Barbossa has also lost his powers of immortality too, making him a lot weaker.

Fears: Death. All pirates fear death to some degree, and Barbossa more than most. He fears Davy Jones, and he fears being killed.....permanently this time.

Noble Phantasm:
Other Info: For Barbossa, this game is set between Worlds' End and On Stranger Tides.

Name: Robin Tact

Age: 20

Canon: Fire Emblem: Awakening, Murder Game IV: Monokuma's Rising

Powers / Abilities / Attributes: Robin has shown a mastery in the magical arts (when provided the proper tomes) and swordsmanship as he leads from the front, ready for a battle just as the great knights on horse back are. He is also shown to be a tactical genius, providing excellent military leadership as needed, while also being well-read and generally knowledgeable of a variety of topics. He also has a strange sense of the odds and habit for winning bets... (Represents luck being his strong stat.)

Personality: While a cool-headed and logical commander in battle, Robin shows obvious care for both his troops and the enemy as he works tirelessly to perfect strategies to minimize the suffering of both sides while securing victory. Outside of battle, the tactician attempts a rather easy-going, almost carefree lifestyle, trying to relax after the stresses of his now former duties. He has shown a loving side, unafraid to show affection for his paramour.

Weaknesses: Robin is unable to cast his magic without access to his tomes, and he does have some distrust for magical beings, most likely out of fear of them attempting to use him for rituals. Also, while strong in casting magic, Robin is not as well-equipped to resist it (Represents resistance being his weak stat.)

Fears: Possession by Grima, losing his lover, failing his troops, his heritage affecting the present.

Noble Phantasm: Grand Assault - A combination of the magical tomes Valflame, Excalibur, and Mjolnir, this triple threat packs three elemental energies into one to overwhelm enemy resistance at the cost of only being able to hit one foe at a time.

Name: Minato Arisato

Age: 18

Canon: Persona 3, Murder Game V: The Reaper's Game

Powers / Abilities / Attributes: Excellent with a rapier, Minato can hold his own against most minor monsters with just his blade and have no trouble. However, with an Evoker placed in his hands, the recent high school graduate is capable of summoning the Persona named Orpheus, Master of Strings and the innermost representation of his soul. This Persona is able to cast the fire spell Agi and bash enemies with its metal harp, adding a well-rested ally to the field.

Personality: A reserved and deep-thinking individual, Minato offers an listening ear to the troubles of others and works to help them through their own troubles before his own. However, he is not afraid to step up into the leadership position, expressing his own concerns if an action would hurt rather than help his friends.

Weaknesses: He is unable to summon Orpheus without his Evoker, and even then, the effectiveness of the beast's actions depend heavily on Minato's emotional state. In fact, a distraught mindset could cause the entire summoning to fail or perhaps in even succeed in the worst ways possible.

Fears: He fears being forgotten or useless, driving his motives to establish as many connections with others as possible before his death.

Noble Phantasm: Ultimate Persona - With an affirmation of his own existence and worth, Minato readies himself to perform the ultimate sacrifice by summoning Messiah, the Martyr. Once summoned, the Persona casts Salvation and heals all of the wounds and illnesses of Minato's allies at the cost of his own health. It will be difficult to keep the summoner from slipping into unconsciousness after such a move.
