The Eternal Nightmare

There was no doubt that Sonic had majority vote... And it would appear that she wasn't objecting to Rui and Wes's reveal that they were the other Sentinels amongst them.

While the whole ordeal was not yet over, they had eliminated the threat that had been planted within them thanks to the deductive skills of a few select members amongst the group... As well as the efforts of the Sentinels respectively, which ultimately lead up to this very moment.

Gesturing for Sonic to approach her, she placed a hand on his forehead, closing her eyes as she concentrated... Causing him to fade into thin air. However, this time, it didn't take her long to speak up, considering how easily solved this particular case was.

"... Hell yeah! We did it! Like he said, Sonic was the last Harbinger!" She said excitedly, before stopping herself, and looking around briefly, to make sure her celebratory moment hadn't drawn any uninvited attention.

Sighing a little when she realized that she hadn't, she picked up the mysterious skull that Sonic had dropped, something he had apparently found during his ventures around the evac center... Which had a familiar blue shimmer to it.

Not too far from A2's body, there appeared to be a familiar blue sphere, yet another timegate, which quickly seemed to open up with Amelia approached it, letting the skull go as it lifted out of her hand, floating through the air as it came into contact with the sphere, causing it to expand... Like the other gates before it.

Through the swirling sea of blue light, everyone gathered around was able to see more than they were the last few times; they could see a dark, mangled structure embedded into the ground... Amidst a grey, empty wastelands.

One could swear they even felt the soot filled winds from that place blow in their face, before the timegate suddenly began to pull them in, but Amelia managed to shout something just before the gate completely took them.

"We're almost through! Ya just gotta get through one last spot before we can finish this!" She called.

Then, the portal closed, but just before it did, one could swear they saw Amelia begin to fade into thin air... However, there was little time to take it all in, as everyone was once again sent hurtling through space and time itself, into whatever place awaited them next.

...

"I sense that it is... Angry."

"Yes. We found its agents... They won't hinder us any longer..."

"Then, we should make haste. I do not know how much longer we have..."

"We'll meet "

...

The gate they were pulled through dumped them into a rather... Bright place. Despite its somewhat battered appearance, it instantly seemed to light up when they arrived, and the gate dispersed, as it usually did.

There was an ominous feeling lingering in the air, as they stood in the middle of the room, with various gaps leading to unknown depths below... And four distinct pathways, each leading to a different door, and in front of the door to the South stood a mysterious woman.

She looked to be a few years younger than the woman from that previous world, and a little older than "Yalena", but on the other hand... Perhaps looks can be decieving.

It seemed that she had been expecting everyone's arrival, but seemed to have been a little annoyed at something about her surroundings, judging from the expression on her face that was present for the briefest of moments... Before the arrival of everyone through that timegate caused her to look up, trying to retain a more neutral expression as she spoke.

"This door will only open when six tablets are activated in the right order." She paused a little after she spoke, gesturing to six small, square shaped monitors positioned directly above the door she was leaning against.

It was then that she let out a sigh, seeming visibly annoyed, dropping that neutral expression she had as she continued.

"But... It would seem this place received some... Unwelcome renovations by the force that trapped us..." She said.

"Luckily, it could not move the tablets very far... But, each of the three unlocked rooms here holds two tablets, though I would proceed with caution... There is no telling what may await you there." She added, her expression seeming to soften as she gestured around at the doors, to the North, West, and East respectively.

After she spoke, she turned, heading towards the door to the North, and something seemed to glint on her back... Which if one were to look carefully, would find it to be the hilt of a mysterious, sheathed sword, sheathed in a scabbard.

It would appear that there were three ways to go this time, for now anyways:

1) Follow the woman through the door to the North, where one could hear hear a dull, but very audible humming noise through.

2) Head into the door to the West, where upon drawing close, one might hear muffled sounds of heavy breathing, likely produced by someone, or something.

3) Venture into the door to the East, which eerily enough, there was nary a sound to be heard at all from within... It was almost too quiet for ones liking...

For once, they weren't in some sort of heated warzone, but time was likely still of essense, despite the harbingers amongst them no longer being a hassle... So it was best to choose sooner, rather than later.

The wind seemed to temporarily stop, just in time too, as the quakes seemed to have collapsed the rather long tunnel that Ben's mole-stache form had dug out for the group... But by some miracle, they had managed to make it to flatter area on the mountain, even if there was a temporary halt in progress to help the newly arrived A2 up the mountain.

However, up there, they noticed a familiar blue hedgehog who just seemed to be coming to as they made it uptop; Sonic, who seemed to have blacked out immediately after the transport process... Waking up near the others, ontop a strange, snowy mountain, near the rest of the ragtag group, composed of those who had either died, or been transported, and lead by a strange, blue haired woman, who he didn't seem to recognize at all... Huh.

Though, the woman didn't appear to be in very good shape, clutching her chest as she tried to catch her breath, before she looked up, at a cave that, while it was a fair distance in front of them... Was no longer elevated above them, but instead, directly in front of them, as they had reached a flatter, more plateau like area.

"... I can feel it... It's spawn... It's close..." She said, her voice just barely audible, even though the winds had died down by now.

While the path to the cave, which it would appear the rest of the group had been headed to, even before the arrival of A2, and Sonic appeared as clear as day... Perhaps looks can be deceiving.

The woman seemed hesitant to advance just yet, after all, seeming to be searching the surroundings, but it was hard to say what it was that she was looking for.​

"I say, this series of events is predicament after predicament. Is everyone alright?" Mole-stache asks as Buddy rushed to his side. He pet the little Eevee with a mallaeble moustache.

"Blaze, is that not your blue hedgehog friend over there?" Mole-stache alerts Blaze about the presence of Sonic. "However did he get here- oh, right, the same way all of us got here."

The lady mentions that the spawn of Emnity was close by.

"Fret not, Mole-stache should have the upper stache against such threats," Mole-stache proclaims. "But first, a little politeness..."

Mole-stache extends a mallaeble moustache into a hand, meant to shake Sonic's.

"Ah, you must be Sonic. A pleasure to meet you," the mole-like alien said. The Omnitrix emblem on his belt area made it a little obvious who it was. "However did you arrive here, anyways?"

"Skree-ee-ee?"

Buddy, on the other hand, noticing that the lady was staying behind, decides to sniff around the snow for a supposed item.

Upon exiting the tunnel and spotting an unmistakable pair of red sneakers connected to a truly unforgettable character, Blaze was paralyzed by a whirlwind of emotion. At first she was shocked - her eyes and mouth agape. But as moments of staring turned to seconds that felt like hours, Blaze broke out into a mad dash, and with blinding speed shoved Mole-stache aside to bring Sonic tightly into her arms.

Leaning forward into him almost aggressively, and with a vice grip of much the same nature, Blaze allowed her hug to do all the talking.

Birdie couldn't believe it. He, Noembelu, and A2 got their arses kicked so that ragtag bunch of sods could vote for the hedgehog?! Unbelievable! Karin had better give him second helpings for a month, all this nonsense he was put through!

Noembelu, meanwhile, looked to A2. "Do you know if he killed you?" Maybe some of that Sentinel power lingered even in death.

Sonic soon awoke with the rest of the group, though he was a bit conked out upon his initial awakening.

"Ungh..... where am I?" He asked as he attempted to stand up, stumbling a bit as he did so. Just as soon as he regained his composure, the poor hedgehog was knocked of balance again by the tight embrace of a hug!

"Woah!"

At first, Sonic was confused as to who hugged him. He definitely knew that Amy wasn't here. Well, everything soon made sense as soon as he got a good look at the hugger in question.

"Blaze! You're alive!" The hedgehog exclaimed, gladly returning the hug and laughing a bit. "I... I thought you were-" He didn't have words for what he was feeling right now. He was just so happy!

But nothing lasts.

As soon as it seemed he was back to his normal happy state, he overheard Noemblu asking A2 if Sonic killed her. Immediately struck with the same guilt from earlier, Sonic abruptly ended the hug and back away.

"I... I killed her." Sonic muttered, just loud enough for everyone to hear.

As Shion entered the doors to the North, along with the mysterious woman that had spoke to them, they would find a mysterious machine looming in front of them.

It was evidently the source of the humming noise coming from the room, but it seemed inactive for the time being.

However, there appeared to be two stone looking tablets embedded on each side of the machine, one being red, and being white. Seems like the woman had her eyes on them too, but she was hesitant to make a move... For the time being anyways.

Those who entered the west door found the room quite dark, the power having apparently failed for the most part... Minus a dim, flickering light illuminating various dust covered glass tubes of some sort, and a large silhouette of... Something, which appeared to be the source of those breathing sounds they were hearing.

Upon closer inspection though, there were two stone tablets that were faintly glowing on the silhouette's body, one green, the other blue, but it was tough to say what exactly this thing was... Until they drew close enough anyways, as the light was too dim to make it out from the door.

Instead of any spectacular silhouette or machinery of any sort, they found a couple of stone tablets laying in the middle of a room, one yellow, the other black.

Though an immediately noticeable aspect about the room was that its only light source was a rather familiar looking blue sphere-like object, glowing in the middle of the room.

The entire setup looked a little too easy for comfort...

Incase any conflict in the group were to break out, Buddy, while he did not find the artifact they were looking for in the snow, he did find a rather sizeable mound of snow, that seemed quite out of place considering how flat this area was.

If it was a large boulder or something, it was certainly the only one for what looked like could be miles.​

Instead of any spectacular silhouette or machinery of any sort, they found a couple of stone tablets laying in the middle of a room, one yellow, the other black.

Though an immediately noticeable aspect about the room was that its only light source was a rather familiar looking blue sphere-like object, glowing in the middle of the room.

The entire setup looked a little too easy for comfort...

"It seems that we are fortunate enough to have found the next gate, as well as both if this room's tablets. Yet we don't know much of this place. Perhaps caution would best be exercised."

Mipha stood as far away as she could from the tablets and used her trident to slide them closer to the door. This ancient family heirloom has so far proven to be very useful to Mipha.

Both Howlett and Danielle had made their way to the West door. On hearing the breathing Howlett popped his claws and Danielle readied her shield.

"I figure the moment we try to grab those slabs something's going to show up and attack us."

"Yeah sounds about right." Howlett responded before he cautiously made his way towards them. "We need them to get this over with though, if I have to claw my way out of this problem I'll gladly do it."

Dorian sighed deeply and followed Howlett to the West door. "And here I was hoping for a moment's rest while we let everyone else run around for a change."

Upon seeing what the room offered, Dorian scoffed. "Really, is this supposed to scare us? Whatever appears, I'll sling a couple spells so that we can be on our merry way." Finding no point in waiting for the inevitable, Dorian conjured a ball of fire and lobbed it toward the silhouette in order to illuminate it.

Connor had decided to follow his gut and went to the East door. He took note of the tablets and the blue light and paused as he examined the room. For the first time in a long time, he pulled the map out of his bag. Perhaps the old thing may prove to be helpful.

At first, Sonic was confused as to who hugged him. He definitely knew that Amy wasn't here. Well, everything soon made sense as soon as he got a good look at the hugger in question.

"Blaze! You're alive!" The hedgehog exclaimed, gladly returning the hug and laughing a bit. "I... I thought you were-" He didn't have words for what he was feeling right now. He was just so happy!

But nothing lasts.

As soon as it seemed he was back to his normal happy state, he overheard Noemblu asking A2 if Sonic killed her. Immediately struck with the same guilt from earlier, Sonic abruptly ended the hug and back away.

"I... I killed her." Sonic muttered, just loud enough for everyone to hear.

Upon being cast away, Blaze stared at Sonic with cow eyes as her arms held out stiff fell limp against her waist. Shedding her stolid facade, then her trembling lip, the muscles in her face tightened, and they remained that way until the winner of her internal conflict had been named. Knitting her brows together in a frown, Blaze firmly grasped Sonic by the shoulders.

"Sonic, do not believe that for a second more. The hedgehog I hold in my hands is no murderer; he's a freedom fighter! His actions are driven by a compassionate heart, and kept in check by a strong sense of right and wrong!" Blaze exclaimed with feeling, "By the Seven Emeralds, you wouldn't even kill Eggman if you had to chance,"

The fireball whisked itself past numerous dusty glass tubes, illuminating a large beast made of various cybernetic and organic components, strands of fleshy looking wiring holding it together.

Suddenly though, the lights in the area flickered to life, faltering on occasion, as the creature itself stirred to life, it's mouth abruptly shooting open as it suddenly unleashed numerous chunks of piping hot stone fragments, which rained down on the group in front of it.

Looks like they were going to have to fight for those tablets!

Unfortunately, Connor's map did not really seem to help, it looked to have mostly been intended to be used in the first area that they had arrived in... But in the meantime, Mipha discovered that while she was able to levitate the tablets for a few brief moments, the process was quickly interrupted by the timegate in the middle of the room suddenly swelling and expanding, crackling with blue electricity... Before it spewed out a creature unlike anything they had encountered before, and closed once more.

Its very presense caused the room to shake, as it let out a defeaning roar, suddenly causing an explosion of what looked like dark energy directly underneath Mipha's feet!

Buddy was wary as he took a few steps back, preparing to come face to face with the thorny beast as it prepared to awaken. To him, it didn't seem to wise to uproot this strange being while being too up close, and attempting to use his usual far-range attacks to help loosen the snow might seem like a threat. He decided to see how it would play out, since the thorny beast appeared to be able to settle itself.

Buddy had a nervous expression, however.

Dorian sighed deeply and followed Howlett to the West door. "And here I was hoping for a moment's rest while we let everyone else run around for a change."

Upon seeing what the room offered, Dorian scoffed. "Really, is this supposed to scare us? Whatever appears, I'll sling a couple spells so that we can be on our merry way." Finding no point in waiting for the inevitable, Dorian conjured a ball of fire and lobbed it toward the silhouette in order to illuminate it.

Howlett meanwhile braved the fire and charged towards the creature with the roar. If he got close enough he'd attempt to swipe at the monsters legs to make it topple over and allow the others to get in a few good shots.

Immortal Emerges From Cave

Shichika shrugged off the handful of stone fragments that came his way, his durable skin protecting him from any serious harm, though the swordsman regardless dashed beneath Danielle's shield for cover, before coordinating an attack plan in his head. Though the young man may have lacked in the general intelligence or common sense department, he was a master at battle, and not merely because of his strength.

Taking note of Howlett's charge, the clawed man's presence and type of approach sure to divert the attention of the foul monster, Shichika opted to help him out, wanting to get this over with as quickly as possible. Like a dragon emerging from a cave, Shichika rose from beneath Danielle's shield and dashed forward faster than the human eye could perceive upon finding a good opening to attack, running up a nearby wall with his speed and jumping off toward the monster, using this boosted momentum to increase his striking power as he sent a powerful, superhuman punch right into it!

The sound of a shorten shotgun could be heard pumping, Constanza arching her neck, an unsatisfied sigh escaping her lips.

"I gots four shells left, only four, and not a Wastemeng seen the end of muh beauty." the soldier started, letting out a precariously yawn. Taking a few steps forward, holding the slumlord firearm in her right hand, the tattooed psychopath growled, feeling an immense anger swell in her. "I slew me some giant doe-eyed Johns, black balla beasts and fuckin' aliens. I seen some savage chika slit her throat and busybodies act like killin' a killa is something wrong." Constanza derailed, heavy, uncomfortable breaths escaping her breath.

"I'M TIRED OF YOUR SHIT!"

The first shot escaped with a yell, a blast of lead hurled towards the abomination.

"ENOUGH OF YOUR FAKE-ASS TRIALS!"

The second shot followed, Constanza either bravely or stupidly advancing against the monstrosity.

"I'LL RUN UP ON YOU ON MY OWNS IF I GOT TO!"

The third shot followed, Constanza before the beast fully.

"YO-!"

The sound of the Serbu Shorty jamming echoing in the dark chamber, Constanza awkwardly standing before this porcupine thing. Murmuring a slur in her native tongue, she tossed the firearm aside, casually looking up at the thing before her. With a face of spite, her hands curled into fists, tired of being this transforming bitch's errand girl. She was already honorably discharged from service, she didn't need to fight a war that was not her own. Reeling her right fist, the deranged woman barked, reveling in her blinding fury.

"Get the fuck out of my way."

Constanza threw her right fist forward, trying to dig into the thing's red eye with her bare hand.
