The Earth was in ruins.

Due to centuries of human recklessness and overpopulation, the humanity was forced to begin large cylindrical habitats known as "exohabitats," which are referred to as "colonies" when in groups five of which were placed around the five Lagrangian points, wherein the experienced gravitational force is identical to that on Earth's surface. The first ten exohabitats, known as the "Pioneers" or "Alpha Series" exohabitats, were designed primarily as command/communication (or "CC") centers, acting as governments, a central transport hub, and architects for the later exohabitats.

And how did they build these? By using the powerful mobile suits and mobile workers.

In time, scientists discovered the power of terraforming, eventually terraforming Mars and the dwarf planet Ceres on the edge of the habitable zone. Human colonies were established, ruled by the same United Earth Federation that governed the remainder of the Earth's population as well as the population of the Colonies. Mars and Ceres remained sparsely populated until the fateful day almost two hundred years later when their atmospheres were capable of supporting human life- the day when scientist on Earth discovered a process they called "paidoterraforming"- the ability to return an industrialized and/or urbanized area back to how it was before human interference. With this technique, the Earth was revitalized as it became the center of all humanity one more, with four great superpowers coming into being- the American Union, the African Federation, the Eurasian Empire, and the Oceanic Confederation.

With the Colonies swearing allegiance to one of the four nations, the Ten Years War began and almost destroyed the various Colonies along with the destruction of various Exohabitats. Only with the invention of the Gundam mobile suit did the war come to an end. The great and vast destruction brought about the creation of the Earth Federation, a galactic government to govern all of humanity. While the four nations were given their sovereignty, they soon carved up Mars, Ceres, and the Colonies into quadrants, a solution that worked for the time as a hundred years passed.

Now, in the Imperial Quadrant of Mars, the Sirius Star Security Corporation hosts the Second Security Squadron, which is split into four divisions. In the Fourth Division, one finds child slaves- many oh whom are implanted with various pieces of biotechnology- that work with Mobile Workers as well as individual security. Not a single one is past age twenty-two, and when this Fourth Division is hired to escort a princess of the Eurasian Empire, all bets are off as nothing seems as meets eye...

The Zephyrantes model mobile suit is a prototype, general purpose mobile suit designed to be able to exit and enter planetary atmospheres utilizing the "Fb" or "Full-burnern" attachments as opposed to being transported in a spaceship. At the cost of removing any remote weapons and limiting the amount of weapons carried, the Zephyrantes has a stronger version of the standard nanolaminate armor, allowing the suit to withstand atmospheric exit and reentry without compromising mobility.

The Strike Freedom Gundam was created with the intent of controlling the battle from the rear lines and supporting their comrades using remote and long-range weaponry. As such, this model of Gundam possesses the DRAGOON weapons system to allow the pilot optimal control of their remote weaponry. However, as it is primarily designed for range combat, this model may have difficulty maneuvering around to engage close-clombat engagements. It takes a vast amount of multitasking skill to effectively control the attached remote weapons.

Do we have to use that creator thing? I spent hours looking for the perfect pictures for my characters.

The camera thing, yes. I'm not sure why it says the images is too big, though.

Did you decided on the spikes on the back or the microchip??

@AceSorcerer

Ok!

Oh need some background on the princess, where is she being escorted for and to?

@AceSorcerer
Time to BS what I haven't gotten to in the starter yet.
She's being escorted to Colony 4 for a summit regarding the deserved soverignty and rights of Mars and Ceres.

And our whiskers will be similar to this:

d56423ba.jpg

There'll be chips implanted in the back and hey attach a covering over it before piloting.

@AceSorcerer

I am watching IBO but they haven't really mentioned WHY some of the kids go through the Alaya-Vijnana System surgery more then once.

In this world can they have to procedure done more then once? And if yes how would it help them? What would be the reason to do so?

Also are the slaves going to be using Gundams from the get go or get them later?

They'll discover them, but they won't be able use them since they'll be missing cockpits. The procedure only succeeds about 50-75% of the time, so some have to have it done to them multiple times. They need to attempt it more than once, despite how dangerous it is, so that they better pay and treatment.

Does how getting the procedure benefit their ability to use the mobile suits was really what I was going for. If it was successful the first time WHY would they need to do it again?

They only undergo it multiple times if the procedure failed previously. And, from the wiki:

Alaya-Vijnana System (阿頼耶識システム(アラヤシキシステム) [I said:
Araya Shiki Shisutemu[/I]?)
An organic device system, it is an old type of man-machine interface.[1][2] Apparently, the system was developed during the Calamity War to maximize the abilities of mobile suits,[3] hence most mobile suits from that era, like the Gundam Frames, are compatible with it.[4] It is possible to modify these mobile suits so that they can be operated without the use of the system. As it is part of the excessive mechanization that was thought to be the cause of the Calamity War, Gjallajorn abandoned the system after war's conclusion. However as the system's performance is too great, they continued researching it in secret.[5] Aside from mobile suits, the system can also be used with mobile workers and ships.
The Alaya-Vijnana system consisted of two parts: one part is installed in the mobile weapon, and the other part (informally referred to as "Whiskers") is implanted into the pilot’s spine. Until recently, it can only be done at a young age to let implant fuse as they grow, but continuous research eventually allowed Gjallarhorn to conduct the surgery on young adults. Those with the implant are sometimes derogatorily called "Rats".[6][7] The implant surgery is dangerous and should it fail, there maybe extremely grotesque cell growth around where the Whiskers are implanted, as well as loss of other bodily functions, such as being unable to move one's legs, and even death.[4][8] After the implantation, the person has a protrusion on the back for physical connection to the Alaya-Vijnana interface in the mobile weapon’s cockpit. The Alaya-Vijnana System creates a pseudo-brain lobe in the pilot's body using nanomachines, allowing the pilot's brain to directly process mobile suit data fed through the physical connection.[6] As the pseudo-brain lobe also governs spatial awareness, the pilot's spatial awareness is enhanced.[4] The more implants a pilot has, the higher the information transfer rate through the system.[9] The system also allows the pilot (even illiterate ones) to operate the mobile weapon without requiring instructions or reading a manual.[6]
As the system works by linking the pilot's senses with the mobile weapon, it would become more effective if the mobile weapon is designed to be as close to a human as possible.[10][5] For this reason, mobile suits like the Gundam Frames and the Graze Ein were designed with such emphasis in mind.[10][5] At the request of the pilot, the system can improve his linkage with the mobile weapon, and although this enhances the mobile weapon's performance, it comes at a cost of losing some bodily function such as loss of sight in an eye, loss of use of an arm, etc. However, these lost functions would return when the pilot reconnects with the system. In the Gundam Frame, the Alaya-Vijnana system has a safety mode that automatically activates when the mobile suit is too close to a mobile armor. This protects the pilot from being overloaded by too much data feedback, but it also caused the Gundam Frame to stall. The pilot can override this safety mode, unleashing more of Gundam Frame's capabilities, but again it comes at the cost of losing some bodily function. These adverse side effects occur as the Alaya-Vijnana system was originally designed for surpassing human limitations to fight against the mobile armor, and as a result, it exceeds the limits of the human body and causes great strain on the brain.]

AH!!!!!!!!! That makes sense now, thank you!!

@AceSorcerer

@timv999 no problem

@AceSorcerer my Gundam pilot might be changed to female if all we get are male characters just FYI. We have 3 players so far right? You, me, and Tim?

You might regret that. LOL

been wanting a Gundam rp so bad for so long!! Super excited. You will have to give me pointers with the princess if I need to do anything particular for her and the plot just let me know. Did you want her as a main character or more support?

Initially support, then main.

Initially support, then main.
Ok. How did you want me to start her out. I know she is getting escorted but by who? Is it a similar beginning as IBO?

@Banana-senpai FYI things are moving

THANKS so much. I had no idea, really. I do want to join and I read up all of the threads...but I'm a bit confused.

The characters will pilot Gundams and we're given the choice to choose any model from any series? And it'll be modified to fit the story?
Also, the characters are all Gundam pilots, right? All of them former child slaves?
@AceSorcerer

And I'm thinking of playing a guy so maybe you can take the female pilot? @Arwen
