hey you, my name's ren, i'm a queer dude and i'm thirty (yikes) i'm ESL but i've been roleplaying on and off for some 15 years now starting on god forsaken gaia online... i'll link some samples of my writing and you can see if you vibe with them, and i'd appreciate some of yours as well if you decide to reach out! tho these are pretty verbose, i'm looking for something a bit more chill length-wise as i've been off the roleplaying scene for some three years now, but they're still good reference for my style.
i'm looking for some chill m/m vibes to fill some of the downtime i've had... i feel like clichés are such for a reason, and i enjoy tried and true tropes that are just fun to write. i'm a slice of life writer thru and thru but i can also get down with some fantastical themes, though i mostly enjoy modern settings. when i write i'd rather have interesting characters over an epic plot, and bouncing these characters back and forth between us to create a pair with fun chemistry. i write over discord (though i only use the basic functionalities lol), can reply pretty frequently and would rather work with descriptions over faceclaims. please don't refer to these characters as uke/seme and please don't use top/bottom as their defining feature - if you do, i'm not the right partner for you.
some prompts: gays running little businesses | moving back from the big city | broke dudes | nice guys pushed to be bad & bad guys bending over backwards to be nice | meeting weirdos at 24 hour diners | post-apocalyptic something | 2:36am hangouts | roadtrip across the usa with this guy i can't stand | summer camp where counselors deal come face to face with unspeakable horrors
i'm sorry for not coming out with more fleshed out ideas, but i've just been trying to relieve the writing itch after a couple years away lol i'm much more of a character-oriented writer, and as long as we can come up with a fun, realistic pairing with dynamic chemistry, i'm sure a story will come neatly together. it doesn't help my best friend whom i met roleplaying's been writing a book, and whenever she shows me snippets of her work it makes me miss the rhythm of writing. if you wouldn't mind bouncing some ideas back and forth i'm thinking we could have some fun, and i'd love to hear about your plotlings/prompts/cravings too! feel free to message me privately me so we can brainstorm and see what sticks!
