"It was two weeks ago. Other than that, it has been quiet. The structure just kind of...sits there. Truly unnerving, if you ask me." Said the messenger.

Those were the last words that were spoken, to the young priest. Soon, he departed the secondary camp that he arrived yet after nearly a month at sea. It was a bit of a dragging experience. The crew on the ship did naught but poke fun at him, as ruffian people often do. While that didn't give too much of an issue, they ended up getting hit with storm after storm. Which thankfully they were ready for, but it put him below deck most of the time.

When he finally arrived onto the shore of Florania, it was only a short ride to the camp. After gathering what information he could, it turns out some sort gate just sprouted out of some rocks. Nothing seemed terribly wrong until villainous creatures poured out and started attacking the team of excavators that were attempting to uncover a mysterious object radiating magic about three months before. However, that is not why the man of the light was here.

That gate not only was described as something that someone had to search in old books for, but the brand of evil that it unleashed was exactly the kind that his church preferred to be dragged into the light. He was sent in for a preliminary investigation and to see if the rumors were true.

Sounds like they were....

Name: Einar (one who fights alone) Brynjar
Age: 27
Class: Paladin
Appearance: Impossibly tall as would be expected being of the Nordic people, frame made wider for the heavy plate armour covering every inch of the Paladin, but there is no sign of the shield the class is so well known for.
Abilities: Low speed, low intellect, simple battle magic (mostly buffs and defensive spells), rather emotional. High strength, High hand to hand, High resilience. Weapon of choice: Two-handed Hammer.

Damned cursed whatever it was, damned excavators! Einar thought, swinging his massive hammer down onto one of the creatures that poured out of the thing Einar's employers had only just uncovered. One was crushed, but about eight more rushed past the paladin and towards the more squishy excavators, the ones Einar was meant to be protecting.

Ah, blast it all. The Paladin was too drunk to chant any protective wards for his employers, it was all Einar could do to turn and face the attackers, despite the shouts and screams of the historians who had likely never held a blade in their hands. Well, he was now definitely not getting paid.
