Middle Earth - The New Shadow

Setting
In the Fourth Age 122, a new darkness is spreading throughout Middle Earth. Orcs are pouring out of the Misty Mountains in a great horde after being expelled by a war between the dwarves and something more sinister, men have become slaves to the darkness in their hearts, and almost all of the elves have left for the Undying Lands.

In Gondor tensions are rising as a growing gang of youths falls under the sway of a dark cult, worshipers of an ancient and terrible evil. Rohan has has grown immense, rich and fat from turning miles of open field lands into farms. Not to mention that the men of Rohan have enjoyed a very beneficial relationship with the dwarves of the Glittering Caves.

The dwarves of Khazad-Dûm are fighting for their survival against a twisted creature and its spawn that lurk in the lake beneath the Misty Mountains. Erebor, the Kingdom under the Moutain, has prospered under the reign of Thorin III Stonehelm. Beneath Helms Deep. However, many are concerned by the recent attack of a small orc host that, while barely causing any damage at all, causes many concerns about the desperation of the orcs. The dwarves of the Glittery Caves are building there own kingdom of riches.

The trees Lothlórien are just finding their own life. Rivendell is abandoned and none walk there anymore. The only place whereone can be sure to find a small group of elves is East Lórien, the new home of the elves in what used to be Mirkwood.

All of Middle Earth will succumb to the rising shadow.

This is a work in progress and is not yet complete. When this done I am yet to write up the character sheet requirements and various other things. I am also still in the process of developing the primary plot line.

Plot
There are many adventures to be had, stories to unfold. Whether you seek a party to go travelling with, have some personal quest of personal importance, or shall rise up to defend the Two Kingdoms from the rising shadow.

A dark cult worshiping Melkor, the first dark lord, has risen up in Gondor. Every day they grow in number. As the men of Gondor are easily corrupted by the words of Herumor, the shadow grows in power. And soon it shall reach out to all foul things that lurk in the dark. Challenged only by Borlas and Saelon, along with the few citadel guards whom they can trust. While the Rohirrim have suffered as their vast fields of crops have wilted from a sickness. They are on the brink of starvation.

An orc horde, leaving the Misty Mountains and headed east, is rampaging across the land. The Rohirrim and the Dwarves of the Lonely Mountain are on the path of their senseless and savage rampage.

From beneath Moria, deep in the underground lakes, lives a creature bound to the water. But its young spawn can still go on land. So many are its spawn in number that they constantly plague the Dwarves at Khazad-Dûm.

A den of spiders has managed to survive in what was Mirkwood and now harasses the elves of East Lórien. While the old trees of Lothlórien have awoken, young and angry. And there rumors of a new dark elf taking refuge in the ruins of Rivendell, wielding the evil powers of necromancy.

Each a separate task to be overcome. But each a piece of the rising shadow.
