Dark brown, slightly wavy, and usually reaches a little below her collar bones. She cuts her own hair so it's usually quite choppy and uneven.
DESCRIPTION
Veronica isn't exceptionally gorgeous but she's pretty in her own unique way with bright eyes and an angular face. Her body structure is quite petite, and seems almost malnourished since she's quite skinny, but she does a lot of running and moving around so despite the fact that it may not look like it, she has built up some muscle over the years. Her frame is narrow, lacking most curves and making her chest seem underdeveloped, however this was never something that has bothered her. Her most distinctive feature would have to be her lips that seem to be naturally coloured a light shade of red, giving people the impression that she is wearing lipstick when she in fact isn't. Her whole appearance could delude people into thinking she is weak and innocent, however her eyes are the one thing that makes her stand out. Her irises are a bright, stormy grey, almost daring people to look directly into them, and they happen to be the only feature she has that could actually intimidate people, given that she mostly sports what can only be called a 'resting bitch face'.

PERSONALITY
One word that could be used to accurately describe Veronica would be to say that she is an enigma. Not a lot is known about her or her behaviour except for what she shows people. She can be quite guarded that way, never letting her true intentions or emotions reach other people. She's someone that is incredibly impulsive, and while this gets her into trouble many times, it has also been known to save her life most times too. She has a very carefree attitude about life, something she picked up on from her adoptive father. She rarely lets herself feel things because she knows that doing so can only end badly. She's not a stick in the mud like she seems to be, however. She is quite the adventurous spirit, always amused and intrigued by new things and experiences, and she always seeks some sort of thrill, which was what mainly got her so good at thievery in the first place. She has a very cynical way of thinking and a very dry sense of humour, and her quips could give anyone a run for their money. She may keep to herself and appear defenseless, but if poked, she quickly acts out, and it generally isn't quite pleasant.
BACK STORY
Veronica has never known her parents. She was orphaned from birth and she can only assume that they too had been lower class people. As a baby, she was found by a man named Dorian Amarynth. He was the last person anyone would suspect to actually take pity on a person. Those that knew him were well aware of his ignorant nature, his ability to feel no emotions whatsoever unless something truly concerned him, so it would come to a surprise to such people that he decided to adopt a child he found on the streets. Though she didn't know it at the time, he later told her that he hadn't even thought of taking her in, and he wouldn't have, if not for the fact that as he hovered over her small form in a cardboard box, she opened her eyes and looked directly at him. There was just something in her gaze the compelled him to make his decision, officially becoming her guardian.
He gave her the name Veronica, and gave her the middle name Delphi was well, to keep part of his little sister alive in Veronica. Delphi Amarynth was probably the only other person Dorian cared for, and when she died as a youngster, Dorian became a changed man. However, with Veronica now in his life, growing under his rule, he was slowly going back to the way he once was.
Living in the poorest parts of Takym meant food was never easily available, nor was shelter. Veronica was moved around with Lucas for the longest time, and he resorted to stealing in order to feed them most of the time. Lucas was not in the best situation to be taking care of a child, but he never once thought of abandoning her. He had already grown attached. Veronica was never fully nourished, but she had enough that she could survive till she was ten. After that, she started to get the hang of things on her own, and with some advice from her father figure, she grew to be quite the skilled pick pocket. Though their meals would still be considered nothing compared to what the Elite received, for them it was close to living like royalty. Veronica was small, and though she grew in age, her appearance never gave it away, and so it was easy for her to slip in and out of places, or for her to simply pluck something out of a passerby's pocket. She was never given much attention out on the streets and she welcomed the fact that she was practically invisible to most.
By the time she was around twelve, she discovered that she had a certain ability that helped her each and every day, and when she expressed this to Lucas, it gave him an idea, for Lucas had once been a member of a small secret society among the lowest ranks and business with them was always dirty. He would do their bidding in exchange for food or currency but after he lost his sister, he stopped meeting with them because he knew that while alone, he would never be able to complete their wishes. Now though, knowing that Veronica had an uncanny ability, he approached them once more, feeling that nothing could go wrong because he doubted Veronica could let them down.
He was wrong.
The leader of this secret society, a man named Peter Furhsten, took an interest in Veronica despite her very young age. He countered Lucas' request with an offer. He would provide Lucas with anything he would acquire from his other lackeys as long as he gave up Veronica to him. Peter didn't intend to use her for her skills, but merely for his own pleasures. Once Lucas realised this, he immediately refused, hardly remembering that Peter was a man who liked to get what he want.
Veronica, unaware of all the meetings Lucas was having with this secret society, was surprised when she came to their makeshift home one day after having scored some food, only to find Lucas' corpse laying outside on the street, with the rain washing away whatever blood poured out from a whole in his chest.
Because Veronica had no idea who had done this, she had to assume that whoever it was may be after her as well, so she fled the scene, not needing to take anything since it wasn't like she had much in the first place. It didn't take long for her to be found however, considering Peter had learned of her powers already, when Lucas came to him. He tracked her down before she had the chance to go too far, and had her brought to him. She barely spent a few hours in his company because after learning about how he killed the man she had come to see as a father, her emotions took control in order to make sure that no member of this secret society was left alive.
And from there, Veronica ran. She made a name for herself among the other lower class people as a skilled thief, but she always made sure to keep herself hidden, not wanting to ever be recognised. She wasn't as hidden as she thought, however, because by the time she turned eighteen, she had gotten an invitation to Sanctuary. Why she was called, she had no idea, but she could only assume that it was because of her abilities. She was once again faced with another situation where she was wanted for her powers but something, along with sheer curiosity, made her feel that this time things were different.

POWERS
Veronica has no idea about whether she received her powers randomly or whether she inherited them since she has no clue who her parents are. It doesn't matter to her how her powers came to be though, all she cares about is how she uses it to the best of her abilities and in order to gain the most out of them.
= Metal Manipulation ; aka ; Ferrokinesis ; With this ability, Veronica has the ability to manipulate metal substances or any solid material that is hard, shiny and has good electrical and thermal conductivity. She is unable to create metal out of thin air, but she can manipulate existing sources of metal, provided they are within eyesight.

+ she can alter the shape and size of a metal substance.
+ she merely needs to touch something made of metal in order to read how the contraption was built. this allows her to fix things easily, as she is able to detect where something has been damaged, and it also allows her to read most locks, enabling her to pick them and get just about anywhere.

- though she can control metal, she can also easily be electrocuted if it is conducting electricity. she is not immune to that. in fact, electricity happens to be her biggest weakness due to her abilities.
- she also cannot do anything if metal nearby has been rusted. she could try her best to manipulate it, but the more rusted it is, the more useless it is.
= Magnetism Manipulation ; aka Magnekinesis ; This is something of a sub power of her ferrokinetic abilities. Because she can control metal, she also has the ability to act like a human magnet.
p r o s
+ this power makes it easy for her to pick pockets and acquire any metal substance she sets her eyes on. it works somewhat like telekinesis, but applies only to solid metal substances.
+ she can conjure up a magentic force field to protect herself, however this is something she is still working on, and it so far only extends far enough to cover herself. after a few hits, it stops working and needs to 'recharge' which can only be done with time.

- she cannot attract metal in their liquid states as they loose their magnetism while in that state.
- acting as a human magnet can be quite dangerous if there is, perhaps, an explosion or a gun fight. bullets may be naturally attracted to her, as could metal shards from any kind of burst, so if taken by surprise, she could easily be put in the line of danger.
