Mass Effect : Synthesis

This roleplay takes during the events of Mass Effect 2, however it follows a different crew of characters, who face a different foe than the deadly Collectors. In this roleplay there's a crazed man named Egeus who's determined that combining high tech machinery with organics will be the prime of all eternity. In his madness he's recruited a large army of all different species (geth included) who believe that he's right, and he's the mesisah who will lead them into an era of change. Our craft (and awkward) team of heroes will have to do the impossible and stop Egeus and his army.

But will they succeed? And what about the oncoming Reaper threat?

Shepherd's Statistics


- Gunnery Chief Ashley and Wrex are both alive. (RIP Kaiden)

- Male paragon, and hero of the Blitz. Was born on Earth.

- Saren commited suicide.

- Rachni queen survived and was freed.

- Council and Destiny Ancesion were both saved.

- Future Ref: Collector Base was destroyed.

- Future Ref: All Shepherd's team survived, along with the crew of the Normandy.


Rules / Terms of Joining



1. Please know about Mass Effect before joining. There were will be spoilers and so please keep this in mind if you're yet to complete the series.

2. There isn't a max on characters, but make sure that if you have them that you play them all out equally. As for your characters and their backgrounds. Feel free to be creative! You have a whole galaxy of creatures at your fingertips.

3. Please be realistic with your fighting. If someone's shot in the skull they aren't going to survive. Someone shot in the shoulder however will be injured but will still be able to fight.

4. I don't care much about the genders, this isn't a love roleplay, and so it doesn't matter.

5. You may have characters who know Shepherd and/or his team. Maybe even close friends, distant family, etc.. It's all fine.

6. Listen to me please, but other than that, have fun!

A couple of quick questions. First Are we part of the military, or a group of mercs? Second, where would i put my characters history, under Persona?

So this guy, Egeus? Wants to jumpstart one of the endings of ME:3?
 
@D-Otter; Yeah pretty much, just put their background in their persona. Just mix is up really. And it'll be military hiring on mercenaries for a speacial opts team.

Weapons/Abilities: Kol is a well-trained, and seasoned combatant. He was trained as an explosives expert. Kol uses an N7 Valiant sniper rifle, an N7 Hurricane SMG, an N7 Eagle, a Black widow anti-material rifle, an N7 Crusader shotgun, and an N7 Valkyrie assault rifle. Because he likes to keep light and mobile he usually only carries three weapons at a time, and chooses which weapons he uses based on what kind of mission he is on. As an explosives expert he always carries charges with him. He carries a special scanning device that can relay information to his allies. He also has the ability to sabotage equipment and synthetics.


Brief Persona: After the Geth attack on the citadel the council races decided to put together a joint task force to help clean up the last of the synthetics still outside of the veil. When the Migrant Fleet heard about the task force they demanded inclusion. The council races grudgingly agreed. Kol’Xerai, a member of the Migrant fleet Marines, shipped out to earth where he entered a training program for a special ops team called AFSOR. After his training he was deemed qualified for N7 training. After graduating from the N7 program he immediately was attached to the special task-force, but he didn’t stay in the task-force long. It was disbanded after most rogue Geth had been eradicated.

Weapons/Abilites:
Due to being trained as a Turian havoc soldier- Felix does not do well with long range attacks. He best excels at mid-range weaponry, like the assault rifle, and is good at hand-to-hand combat. He can focus in on his enemies using his suit's thrusters, getting him close in for the kill and knocking them back. Using the omni-blade or a point blank shot to finish off easy adversaries. For something more bigger though he relies on tact and skill to help overcome them. Felix enjoys using the Turian Assualt rifle made by his own people. Good range and powerful kickback makes for a favorite weapon of his. If none of those are available to him he will use your all purpose Harrier Assualt Rifle to get the job done. For his abilities he relies on his Armiger Legion training while he was stationed in the Turian military. What he lacks in mobility his havoc suit more than makes up for it. However, there can be a limitation to how far his suit's thrusters can take him. But it does give him the agility to dodge that most Turian's are lacking, making him useful in both close and mid-range combat, and also allowing him to end a fight quickly with overwhelming force.
Brief Persona:
Felix Talibus used to be part of a select strike force from the Turian's Legion. A group of well trained soldiers who have dedicated their lives to striking enemy forces with overwhelming force and annihilating them with gorilla warfare. There is little room for weaknesses and they have been put to good use in infiltrating planet side bases and disposing their adversaries with calculated measures of mass killing. Go in. Kill all targets. Get out. That's their motto pretty much and they live, eat, and breath by it. However, Citadel council has requested this black opps group to be put to their own uses. Ever since the attack by one of their own kind, Saren, Felix and the rest of his group have been divided up and put as security for high ranking operatives in hiding. It's a dull job to keep out of sight and make sure some politician doesn't go down the wrong alley at night. Felix despises this line of work- he is meant to be used as a well organized and trained soldier, not a babysitter for these feeble and constantly talkative turncoats. But, we will see how long that lasts...he was just informed of a new assignment and is currently being relocated to meet up with others who have been hand picked as well. What the details are he has yet to figure out since he was not debriefed on who or what he would teamed with.

Felix is about six feet and five inches. He is tall, slender, but well built. The very image of what your average Turian would look like. He is darker skinned, with a light cream brown hide and red face paint; which accentuates his facial features as his stunning green eyes pierce through. His mandibles and fringe still show his young age since he is at his prime peak in Turian years. Felix prefers to wear his silver and red rimmed armor, rarely does he ever take this off, thus adding to the effect of your typical Turian appearance Notable traits that his kind has is excellent hearing, most races tend to forget that Turians can usually hear you through a wall or door and often listen to heartbeats to determine if the other species are fearful or relaxed. It just comes natural to him, but he tries not to offend anyone since others may think he was eavesdropping. Another trait of his kind is his endurance and stamina. He can last in a battle and take a hit, but due to his suit and anatomy, he is not naturally flexible like the humans, Drell, or Asari are.

Alana is your straightforward Aliance Marine. A soldier at heart and in occupation; she is actually very skilled in tactics and reconnaissance even though she will admit otherwise. Well versed in many weaponry, her favorites are your standard issued N7 pistol and assault rifle. Her abilities are Adrenaline Rush, a stimulant used when in dire needs. This heightens her senses and allows her to push through what is humanly possible and achieving the impossible.

Brief Persona:
Alana was one of the few humans these days that was actually born and raised on earth. She has a deep rooted loyalty to mankind which in turn inspired her to join the Alliance. She is young, ambitious, and incredibly naive to the other alien species. She excelled at her rudimentary soldier training; climbing the ranks into the N7 when she was apart of an attack on one of the human colonies. Geth had ransacked the settlement when she just happened to be stationed there at the time. Working with only two other marines, Alana and them were able to push back their aggressors and hold them off till help arrived. Though she perceived this achievement as a messy accomplishment, the Alliance viewed it as a heroic victory, and placed all three soldiers into the N7 Program. During this time the Citadel had also been attacked and she had not realized that the attacks were related until later. Though she herself was not there during the assault she was informed of the situation afterwards as the first signs of the Reapers were revealed. Now that Alana has finished her training she has been approached by an agent who has selected her to be apart of group for a special mission. Alana has had little contact with the other races and sees this as a chance to be apart of something greater. Though she is not well versed on the other species, she does become quite intrigued and inquisitive when confronted with one. Greatly differing from most humans who despise aliens, most of all Turians. But she is adamant on joining this mission even if she does not truly comprehend why someone like her was selected. If it is to protect mankind then she will do so without question.

Other:
Alana is five foot two inches. She had her hair genetically pigmented to be an offset copper hue, giving it a ginger appearance. Her eyes are actually her own, not wishing to change them, they are a soft silvery-green. She wears your regular N7 armor with a base color of black and a lighter color of silver and red.

Brief Persona: Axis is a very quiet alien, he usually doesn't say much, and speaks only when he needs to. He's a soldier through, and through and loves the heat of being out on the battlefield. He's someone that likes to work alone, and doesn't like it when he has to be within a team. Since he was once experimented on by a joint-project from Turians and Salarians he hates both species with a passion. He was offered a place on this team after he escaped the lab, and he went to Illium, where a scout was looking for recruits. He hired Axis on as a merc. Yet Axis is not doing this for money, the surprisnly peaceful and righteous alien just wants to serve justice and defeat those who deserve it.

Brief Persona: Born and raised as a renegade this one is not someone to mess with. She's a deadly fighter, and isn't afraid to get down and dirty when fighting. She's manipulative and cunning, always willing to plan tactics against her enemies. However most of the time she just lunges into a fight, and goes along with the flow. She was found by some Cerberus operators who were going to extract her knowledge of the Reapers, luckily she managed to escape on Omega where she was soon after found and recruited by this team. Cerberus is still on her tail though, and she knows that she needs to keep hidden.

Age: Adult (Comparable to mid-30s human)

Class: Soldier

Weapons/Abilities: Able to be mounted on the back of his battle armor is a modular Siege Tower turret system. The primary weapons for the turret are either a pair of Vector Heavy Machine Guns or Shredder Machine Guns. The Vector is a slow-firing but high-powered gun capable of damaging the most armored targets and penetrating cover. The Shredder features two sets of three rotating barrels and fires smaller rounds at a much higher rate, designed to rapidly overwhelm infantry shields and armor. The last mount can accept either a Zephyr grenade launcher for anti-infantry purposes or a Striker rocket launcher for anti-armor purposes.


Brief Persona: Kayzer has a fiery disposition for an Elcor- Which means that to other races he still moves with an unbelievable calm. He's capable of making hasty decisions- But to other races he still seems to deliberate over matters for a long while. Out of a desire to serve his people he joined the Elcor military and soon had made a name for himself with his courage and determination, standing his ground against YMIR battle mechs and Krogan warriors alike. He's driven by a desire to aid and protect, and often takes assignments against pirates or criminals, who are never prepared for the sight of a fully armed and armored Elcor warrior advancing on them.

Other: His Castle battle Armor is colored grey and red, and is much thicker than other race's armor owing to the Elcor's greater strength, and possesses very strong shields for the same reason. When in armor he always wears his helmet, which is fully-covering and at a glance somewhat resembles a Krogan helmet. His Siege Tower turret system is mounted on the back. The weapons are triggered from sensors built into the hands and forearms of his armor. He can aim the turret using a nonvisible laser mounted in his helmet. A nonvisible laser fired from the turret itself will align with his target, and his internal display allows him to see that laser. For targets beside or behind him he can freely rotate and angle the turret using controls in his hands, neck, and shoulders with a camera displaying the turret's view projecting in front of his right eye. To help him in and out of his armor he has a LOKI-like servant robot.

Descrip. of Looks / Picture: When out of his armor Kayzer appears much like a normal Elcor as they show little visual differentiation He does, however, possess a network of battle scars on the left side of his head and neck. He generally wears clothes that are either light grey or earthy brown.

Name: Inakal serras

Class:sentinal
Weapons/Abilites: Inakal is deadly at close range. He usually goes into battle with a Kassa Locust SMG, and an M-23 katana shotgun. When enemies are just out of reach he likes to use his biotics to get them back where he can kill them. He likes to lift, and throw his enemies to get them confused, and then uses a biotic charge to get closer. If his weapons and biotics don't work he has no qualms fighting hand to hand. Like many Drell Inakal is a master martial artist He is very skilled at manipulating objects with his biotics, and does not hesitate to use his gifts when needed. He is skilled with electronics, and is an expert hacker.

Brief Persona: Inakal was born on Kahje, but his father was the personal assistant to the hanar who would become the ambassador to the citadel. Inakal grew up on the citadel. When he came of age he decided to join C-Sec. He originally was part of the network division dealing with cyber-crime, but soon became bored and transferred to the special response division. He served in the division for several years. During the battle of the Citadel Inakal distinguished himself, and was one of the few of his division to survive. Because of his experience fighting the Geth, as well as his sterling career, he was offered a position in a special task force meant to hunt down any remaining Geth.

Weapons/Abilities: As every Human Vanguard, Allen was implanted with the L5n implants once the Alliance found great potential in him, and thanks to that his biotics were greatly improved, giving him many skills he didn't even knew he had. Having a special like for martial arts, Allen became one of the first Slayer Vanguards on the Alliance, and with time mastered the use of the sword, deadlier than any light projectile based weapon in his hands. However, as back up for his sword he is always carrying a Phalanx with him.

Brief Persona: His parents where regular soldiers serving in the army, so living always surrounded by military personnel he saw it normal to join the Alliance when he turned 19. In 2176 he found himself trapped in the middle of the Skyllian blitz, fighting pirates on the surface of Elysium. Thanks to his efforts during that campaign, he was granted the chance to join the N special forces, and even if he only made it to the N5 qualification, that was enough to grant him a nice position in the Alliance forces.
