A tiny red light blinked every time she jammed the button, the lift wouldn't grant her access to the lower deck. Great... Then again, it came as no surprise that Xavier would forbid newly-recruited trigger-happy mercs from accessing the most vital areas of the ship. She decided it was in her best interest to seek him out and get down there as soon as possible.
She stopped at a window to take careful notice of the thrusters as they repositioned the newly-freed vessel up and out of the docking bay. The ship's interior wasn't exactly difficult to navigate, it would only be a few more cold steel corridors before she reached the bridge. Passing through the mess hall, she noticed Xavier immediately. A few of the others had convened here also, so she innocently took her seat, uneasily glaring in Xavier's direction from time to time.
'Roger' was most definitely on board, she wondered if he already knew about it.
She began speaking, barely looking in his eyes. "Oh, um...", it's not like she had trouble lying, especially when everything she says sounded equally erratic. "I don't require... my own sleeping quarters, uh, can I... sleep in the engine room?", she could tell that her proposition was hardly substantial. Without letting him answer, she stammered, "I'm an extremely competent engineer, I-I could be an extra mechanic! Giving me access to the lower deck would be mutually beneficial to each of us, and therefore the overall integrity of the mission itself!!". Her words seemed to speed up as she spoke, ending with her gazing intently into his eyes while realizing that the whole thing would probably seem at least a little suspicious.
Her anxiety kicked in, and she wondered if he would freak out and jettison her once he found out about their... potentially dangerous uninvited guest. She sat there quietly, although somewhat awkwardly, with her legs held against her stomach, and chin atop her knees. On the outside she twiddled her thumbs while, internally, she prepared for the inevitable...
