A tiny red light blinked every time she jammed the button, the lift wouldn't grant her access to the lower deck. Great... Then again, it came as no surprise that Xavier would forbid newly-recruited trigger-happy mercs from accessing the most vital areas of the ship. She decided it was in her best interest to seek him out and get down there as soon as possible.

She stopped at a window to take careful notice of the thrusters as they repositioned the newly-freed vessel up and out of the docking bay. The ship's interior wasn't exactly difficult to navigate, it would only be a few more cold steel corridors before she reached the bridge. Passing through the mess hall, she noticed Xavier immediately. A few of the others had convened here also, so she innocently took her seat, uneasily glaring in Xavier's direction from time to time.

'Roger' was most definitely on board, she wondered if he already knew about it.

She began speaking, barely looking in his eyes. "Oh, um...", it's not like she had trouble lying, especially when everything she says sounded equally erratic. "I don't require... my own sleeping quarters, uh, can I... sleep in the engine room?", she could tell that her proposition was hardly substantial. Without letting him answer, she stammered, "I'm an extremely competent engineer, I-I could be an extra mechanic! Giving me access to the lower deck would be mutually beneficial to each of us, and therefore the overall integrity of the mission itself!!". Her words seemed to speed up as she spoke, ending with her gazing intently into his eyes while realizing that the whole thing would probably seem at least a little suspicious.

Her anxiety kicked in, and she wondered if he would freak out and jettison her once he found out about their... potentially dangerous uninvited guest. She sat there quietly, although somewhat awkwardly, with her legs held against her stomach, and chin atop her knees. On the outside she twiddled her thumbs while, internally, she prepared for the inevitable...

As the introductions and such were taking place, Cassius was piloting a stolen shuttle out to Xavier's ship. "Ahoy there, " said Cassius over the comm, "Is it too late for one more member?" Cassius wanted in on this badly, this was his shot at making a name for himself in the mercenary business and he was not about to let it get away

Harlow had found his quarters and threw down his stuff and put his armor up along with his shotgun and pistol but kept his sword with him as he began to explore the ship but he remembered there was a meeting in the mess hall so he made his way there even though he was still familiarizing himself with the ship. He found his way easily enough where one of the other new crew members was talking to Xavier trying to get access to another part of the ship but this hardly bothered Harlow as he sat down while putting his sword on the table since sitting with it on was rather how do you say uncomfortable, he put his head down using his arms as a make shift pillow until the meeting started though he wouldn't let himself fall asleep as that wasn't his intention just to rest his head.

As the elevator doors opened he went straight to the room he was promised and instinctively checked every nook and cranny of the room to make sure nothing was monitoring his room. Once he was confident he was safe he hung his sniper rifle on a wall and left the rest of his stuff on the ground. He took out a book from the bag and hopped on top of the bed and began to read a bit, he wasn't much for talking so he would get on well with the rest of the mercenaries as it seemed.

Raymond was a little disappointed that nobody was really talking. His time in the Alliance and Eclipse had taught him that camaraderie was an essential part of unit cohesion. Raymond saw everyone's general reluctance to get to know each other as a potential weakness in battle. We probably have a hard fight coming, but we'll know each other well enough afterwards. I can only hope we won't get hung up on each others' flaws. He sent a quick omni-tool message to Xavier letting him know he was good for ground duty and next to useless onboard the ship. With about eight hours on his hands, he started fixing himself a small meal, planning on spending the majority of the ride relaxing in his new bunk. "Anybody want anything while I'm fixing stuff up?" He asked, expecting silence or 'no's but halfheartedly hoped for some interaction with his new team.

Harlow's head popped up when food was mentioned, one of the other mercs Raymond was his name if he recalled correctly. "What are you making?" He asked the man both out of hunger and curiosity since Harlow couldn't cook to save his life and that had always left him eating out or some form of MRE so he just hoped this man was able to make something a little bit more palatable then anything Harlow would make.

(I am hating that I am not getting alerts FOR MY OWN FUCKING ROLEPLAY)

Alexandra hears a ping on the comm and listens to the pilot of a small shuttle and stops the ship, calling on Xavier's personal comm "Captain there is a message from an unknown shuttle requesting permission to land and join the crew for the mission. Would you like to talk to the man?" Alex asks keeping the ship stopped but making sure at least one turret was aimed for the shuttle.

Xavier looked down at his omnitool and sighs as he sees it's an urgent message from Ensign Darwin, he picks it up and listens to her explanation "Screw it Alex, activate the safety fields in the cargo hold and open them up, I'll meet the unknown down in the hold." As the elevator stops at the messhall he grumbles and slams the button for the cargo bay, he was hungry and needed to get some sleep...and make real introductions with everyone else soon. He puts his helmet on and takes his hand cannon out waiting for the shuttle.

Alex sighs hearing the exasperation in the captain's voice I hope this person doesn't get his head blown off by the captain now. She contacts the shuttle "Unknown shuttle, this is the Ice, pull into the docking bay and come out with your hands in the air, security will meet you there." And by security she means the pissed off Captain of the ship, luckily Xavier will know we need all the help we can get.

Xavier comms the others mercs who signed on "We've got a small situation here, an unknown in a shuttle is coming on the ship, I want everyone down here in case it get's hairy down here, we don't know if anyone could have been listening in on the briefing back in Omega. I want a few heavy hitters as well as a tech specialist to come down here to scan the shuttle as it docks. Xavier out." Xavier sighed, this was something he didn't like, surprises, they tended to be messy as far as he was concerned. Parties, clubs, and surprises didn't really rank high on Xavier's list of a good time anymore. He looks at the stripe on his arm and the mark on his chest, he taps the N7 then smacks the shoulder pad with his stripe on it, his own little good luck ritual as he sees the cargo bay doors open up, good thing the safety fields are working perfectly.

  • Nice Execution!
Reactions: Blood Lightning
After hearing a few things over the Intercom, Kronos became a little worried about what was going on. Was their mission being impaired? Hopefully not. Because he really needed the payday. Concerned, he decided to go ahead and go see Xavier. Upon doing so, he saw that the entire team was at the Docking Area. But why? He headed over to the Docking Bay to meet with the other Mercenary. He would ready his Assault Rifle, unsure of what else to do. As Xavier said, it might get hairy. Not taking any chances, Kronos kept his finger on the trigger, wanting to be ready to fire at a moment's notice. Hopefully their unexpected guests would not try anything funny. Because they were going to be greeted by a bunch of well-armed mercs, perhaps the best in the Terminus Systems.

Cassius flew his stolen Shuttle into the cargo bay and opened the hatch. He stepped out of the shuttle with his armor on (minus the helmet), his sword on his hip, side arm stowed and rifle on his back. He looked to each one of the crew members and noted their caution, their jitteriness. "Easy there boys, I'm not here to hurt you. I'm here to join you. I was at the brief with you guys, my name is Cassius, and I am a Slayer." He said with a bow

(Sorry I sprung Roger on you guys so soon :P)

The last thing Hannah expected was to be ignored completely, then again, she was difficult to listen to. An unexpected phenomenon overtook the attention of Xavier and the others. Hannah supposed the timing must have been in her favour, the presence of the unknown vessel spared her from being ousted by Xavier and possibly from his ensuing wrath.

After letting out a quiet sigh of relief, she got up and listened to the new instructions over the comm. Everything was in order, as far as she was concerned... until, of course, the ENTIRE TEAM was ordered down to the cargo bay. This was bad, really bad. If Roger wasn't in danger before, he sure was now. She made a nervous grimace at the thought that her wish to reach the cargo bay was granted... although it was in the worst way possible.

Once she passed through the doors of the cargo bay, all pressure was on. The mercs had their firearms drawn and readied for whatever would exit that shuttle door. She did a did a fervent scan of the room from where she stood, spotting the half open steel crate that contained roger in the right corner of the cargo bay. Please don't come out, Please don't come out, Please don't come out. If roger surprised the mercs now, he was toast. Once again looking to the readied line of weapons, she hesitantly drew her own pistol. Waiting impatiently and half-heartedly for the unknown guest to make an entrance.

It was another merc, friendly, and with his weapons holstered to his armor. The tone of his voice, and his bow gave off an air of charisma. He certainly didn't seem too afraid to be in the line of fire. Shortly afterwards everyone seemed to slowly let their guard down, but Hannah was hardly relieved....

*clink*...
*clink*...
*clink-click*

Especially when she heard the light clanking sound of Roger's malformed footsteps. Cocking her head slowly to the right in horror, Hannah's heart sunk as Roger spoke out, "Miss Mallory, there are armed men behind you, is everything alright?". The old synthetic was terribly roughed up, with an entire shoulder and arm missing along with various missing plates exposing glowing white veins of vital fluid. A well trained mercenary would probably shoot an approaching geth, especially a monster like Roger, without much hesitation. Whether or not they would... was another question.

Hannah was frozen in place, biting her lip a bit too hard while her mind raced... Please don't shoot him, Please don't shoot him, Please don't shoot him.

Cassius looked at the old and damaged geth as it walked into the scene. He made a face that showed how confused he was that it was not only here, but that A: wasn't trying to kill them, and B: spoke to someone named Hannah as if it was a butler. "Ummm, mind explaining what that's all about?" He asked, not really sure of what's to do in this situation.

Jay heard the message over the comm and he really just wanted to read is book but it was going to have to wait this time. He stood up only grabbing his sniper rifle and wandered back down to the docking bay unsure of what the situation was he walked over to Xavier, "What's going on?" He asked. Jay didn't quite look combat ready and he didn't quite want to be he didn't link enclosed spaces were he can't fire from a distance anyway so he waited for further orders from the Captain.

(More than two-three sentences people please and thank you)

Xavier looked at Jay and nodded towards the ship dokcing and the newcomer walking out of it "That's what's going on right now, we've got another merc apaprantly and I was just being overly cautious with the fact he was in a shuttle that coud've had a lot of nasty surprises in them." He turns towards the newcomer by now about to introduce himself but then hears the Geth he turned around again and raised his pistol, only to hear Hannah calling out to not fire on the thing. On closer inspection Xavier notices how beat up the geth was. He whips around at her looking down at her with a calm fury. "What in the seven hells is a geth doing aboard my ship Hannah, one how does the damned thing know your name, two why does it look like it's being repaired...and three why didn't it scrap it's memory core when it was captured by you?" He asks, keeping his voice level as he holsters his gun that way the damned thing didn't take a potshot at him, he unhooks his helmet as well, holding it under his left arm so he can turn his head halfway to the newcomer. "Names Xavier, I'm the captain, welcome aboard, follow the others to the mess right now, I'll be up shortly after I get some answers...keep this as a need to know, no one needs to know but us right now. That's an order everyone." He says matter of factly turning his head back to Hannah, he didn't expect a full answer...hell he expected the girl to start crying or something, she seemed like she was too tightly wound for something like this.

A Collab with @Dakota K5.
"Well, lets see what we got." Ray replied, opening cupboards. "We have... rice, potatoes, a little flour, some chicken and a whole bunch of unlabled ground mystery meat. Probably varren, if I had to guess. I could try my hand at making croquettes, but to be honest, they seem a little labor intensive, and I've never made them before, so best not try now." Opening a new cabinet, Raymond said, "I'm not actually that much of a cook, I just know a few handy recipes I picked up from Brain Camp."

"Hmm, flour the chicken and bake it while we cube the potatoes and do the same to them. It'll take a bit longer but it's less labor intensive then what you suggested." Harlow said as he remembered some of the simpler things he had been able to make that didn't require a goddamn degree in the culinary arts to make. "Or we could mash said mystery meat into patties and fry them and they fry potato chunks in the left over grease, really anything works for me as I am hungry as all hell. The name's Harlow by the way." He said to the other man, he was pretty sure his name was Raymond but he wasn't gonna guess someones name unless he heard them say it themselves.

"Raymond, nice to meet you." He held his hand out to shake. "I like that idea with the chicken, but I can make mashed potatoes real easy. He washed his hands and started preparing the chicken and boiling the potatoes. Once the potatoes were ready, he biotically lifted them out of the water. "Check this out." Raymond started mashing the potatoes mid air. "Micro-singularity mixed with a gentle warp field. Perfect for making mashed potatoes or applesauce." Raymond threw the milk and butter into the field and let them mix into the potatoes.

Then suddenly Xavier started calling for hands to the docking bay. Raymond sighed and dropped the floating blob of potatoes into a pan before heading down. "Looks like dinner'll have to wait."

The shuttle landed and Raymond braced himself and his barrier for anything. Turned out it was just a late arrival to the party. Raymond wasn't going to relax that easily, and he thought it was good that he didn't when a Geth, of all things, emerged from the depths of the cargo bay. Reacting instinctively, Raymond biotically lifted it into the air with one hand, effectively immobilizing it and leaving it open to his warp field he was charging with his other. He hesitated when he saw the synth had no weapons. "What the fuck? How the hell'd a Geth get on here? I'd better have some goddamn answers soon before I scrap this thing." He waited for answers, but wasn't going to wait long.

Harlow ran with Raymond and entered into the most bizarre scene. "Yup that's a geth alright." He said trying to lighten to mood halfheartedly, really he wasn't even with the group for a day yet and weird shit was already happening. "So...are we you know going to kill it or are we gonna ask questions before we start shooting, crushing and or stabbing the geth? I mean i'm all for questions and it seems that it wasn't shooting or attacking you all." He saw a man staying near the shuttle whom he hadn't seen before but he seemed to have been mostly forgotten due to the geth, he also saw saw the women from earlier looking quite nervous. "I'm assuming it's her's *he said as he pointed at Hannah* and if that's the case shouldn't we be just a wee bit concerned that she brought a geth on board that is working if dama...oh never mind the captain has it." He said as he heard what Xavier said though he didn't really know who they would tell, the crew knew and if anyone said anything outside the ship Aria was bound to have the ship destroyed and he hoped the crew wouldn't be stupid enough to say anything though the fact that their was a fuck mothering geth on board soured his hope for competency of those around him.

The next few seconds were more of a blur...

Xavier's stark gaze, confusion and yelling from the other members. It wasn't until Roger was lifted into the air that she began to feel faint. "Oh dearest me", Roger remarked worriedly.

She paced back and forth aimlessly, trying to ease her pent-up fear without breaking down, then settled up against the cold cargo bay wall and slid down into a sitting position. She buried her face into her gloves before whispering, "Okay... Okay...", taking a moment to collect herself. Revealing her face once more, she began to speak out. Outwardly, she was rather frantic, and had to correct herself multiple times, "I could explain! He's... It's harmless. Please... don't hurt him it! I... maybe...", her words had begun to run flat, and so she buried her face in her gloves once more.

A thousand different outcomes played out in her head. Roger getting shot up completely, Roger splayed against a wall, Roger cut into sections... she tried to avoid imagining her own reaction to said outcomes. Needless to say, she would taking at least one of them with him. That VI was more important to her than they could ever realize. Sure she regretted bringing him, though there was no way she could've left Omega without him.

The others were discussing the uninvited guest, and the implications he might endow onto the mission. Sitting up against the unrelenting wall with her head down in defeat, the words yelled in her direction burned right through her. She waited in agony for the sound of Roger's inevitable demise.

To her surprise, the gates of hell had remained shut, most of the others were ordered out, leaving only her and Xavier. Xavier stood in front of her, glaring down with that calm, dark gaze of his. The only thing she could imagine leaving his mouth was, "Are you ready to get jettisoned?". Instead, however, he only questioned her about Roger. "Well... he's not a true geth, you see". She took a long pause to let out a few quivering breaths. "It's a long-term project, but, getting it repaired is... important to me." Little did she realize that getting a downed geth working as well as she did so far took an extremely advanced level of robotic understanding. "He's-he's harmless. The original geth is long gone, I ripped out the base modules, cut the synthetic uplink, and replaced fried memory core with the main drive of a... modified VI.", she explained without going into detail, then looked up at him and quietly added, "...named Roger".

Xavier calmed down quite a bit hearing her explanation "With how badly damaged the shell is I doubt it would be much harm in letting it stay. On one condition though miss Mallory, do not have any weapons systems integrated with the VI at all while it is on my ship, other than that it does seem very different than the ones I've had the misfortune of facing out on the edge of space. Everyone, head back to the mess, newbie go ahead and join everyone else as well." He breathes in deeply and exhales and points to Roger floating in the air "And set the automaton down now...gently, I don't need anything going wrong in my ship. And Miss mallory, you will have permissions to enter the engine room...but seeing as it's a higher traffic area I will have to ask that you sleep within your own set of quarters, now that your...robot has been ousted go ahead and take it with you as well." He turns on his heels and starts walking towards the elevator and hits the button for the doors to open he looks at the others "Well fall in everyone, I'm sure you're all as hungry as I am, cause I sure as hell don't eat anything on Omega."

Cassius nodded and went into the elevator with Xavier and the others, it was true, he was very hungry, he hadn't had anything for lunch. "My name is Cassius sir." He said to Xavier, just so that he wouldn't have to go by 'noobie' for the rest of their voyage.

Jay was listen to the conversation go on but from the point the girl mentioned it was harmless he was disinterested with the conversation and put his sniper on his back awaiting orders. He looked to the newbie quickly looking him up and down quickly before leaning against a wall waiting for his chance to leave. Though once he heard that there was some food available he went straight to the mess hall after putting his sniper back in his room taking his pistol in the chance they happened to get attacked. The mess hall smelt nice compared to the rest of the ship with the sent of food awaiting him, he hadn't eaten much that day, glad he got the chance to have some food as he waited for it to be prepared.

Harlow had already gone back up to the mess hall and was working on the food again though now he had increased the amount of chicken he was making since their were going to be more people eating. He ditched the idea for the breading when he found some olive oil which he used to rub the chicken with before sprinkling some salt and pepper over it after making sure each piece was seasoned evenly he put it in an oven, he found some rice and boiled some water and put the rice in since the potatoes Raymond were going to make would take to long since everyone would be up before they were done. While the rice was boiling he grabbed another pan and put butter into it and as it started to melt he put some crushed garlic cloves in before he stirred it in to the melting butter, he put the rice into a large bowl and poured the butter in with it before stirring the butter in giving the rice a rich garlic butter tasted. He took the chicken out and cut part of one to see if it was completely done, seeing no pink he started to grab plates and put a bed of rice down after he had prepared enough plates with the rice he started to put two pieces of chicken on each. He had a few pieces of chicken left along with some rice, he cut up the chicken into the rice mixing it together then put it away in case anyone wanted more.
