Skills:
Despite his appearance as being that of an insectoid creature while in his armor, or a rough and tumble merc outside of it, he is actually a fairly decent medic, able to perform most simple, and a rare few advanced, medical procedures, when the need arises, during his missions, or whenever they're needed.
Having to live on his own for years at a time has lead to him teaching himself a bit about cooking, highly polished dishes being impossible, but flavorful ones merely require the right ingredients.
Of his more combat oriented skills, he knows how to use a gun, able to hit targets within the range of his weapons with fair accuracy in just the right conditions, though most merely end up as body shots, truly fatal wounds being rare at the distance he usually fires from, causing even the most perfectly alligned shots to miss and alert his enemies to his presence, forcing him to regroup in order to formulate a new strategy, sometimes being forced to use guerilla tactics with his small arms just to keep alive before his enemies come into range of his real weapons.
Every so many years, he is forced to return to Thessia, having part of his arms removed and staying on-world until they fully regenerate, taking on a more blue hue every time they grow back, due to his hands becoming shakey, which ruins his already mediocre aim for the duration of his current mission, forcing him to take out his targets in closer quarters than he'd prefer, as he doesn't like being forced to kill those he doesn't have to.
Despite his guns being made for mid-to-long range fighting, being the poor shot he is has lead to him becoming a master of bladed combat, using his Omniblade, Ballistic Blades, and Blade Armor to their fullest extent, divising different strategies of when to use which on the fly, making up for most issues with his aim, and even utilizing his shaking hands to assist in throwing his BBs.
What makes him particularly deadly at close range is that, despite Alana's blood not giving him biotic powers, it did, in fact, strengthen and elasticize his muscles, allowing him to sprint off and on without much rest between bursts, or be able to perform gymnast-like movements, despite his size, both of which do eventually wear him out, which forces him to retreat in order to allow his body to rest, usually not giving him much time to do so when in the midst of combat, causing some missions during these times to take longer than intended.
Even though he know how to use Disruptor, Cryo, and Incendiary Ammo, he only ever uses them when they're absolutely needed, such as when having to deal with shielded, barriered, or regenerating enemies and needing an edge his blades can't give him, especially in the case of having Krogan opponents who have two, or in some cases, all three, of these, forcing him to switch between them and pray he comes out alive.
When under the effects of an Adrenaline Rush, as time slows to a crawl, he is able to use his blades with deadly precision, as well as move in ways he is usually unable, allowing him to perform self-taught combat tecniques that require more agile movements than he is usually able to do, yet overuse of this ability can lead to blurry vision. which can last from a few seconds to several minutes, as well as great fatigue, which is why he trains this ability every chance he gets, extending the amount of time he can use it, as well as decreasing the side effects each time he is able to use it a certain number of times within a five minute period, after which he must rest for several hours before his next session do to overexertion.
Despite his ability to fly a fighter, he is still learning the more advanced maneuvers associated with this type of craft, as well as being forced to learn how to use every new upgrade as he acquires them, causing him to miss or get hit by certain shots that a more advanced pilot could dodge easily.
In all actuality, he's afraid of heights, something he's forced to struggle with even in his home life on Thessia, as he's forced to makes certain repairs to his home after his daughters practice with their biotic powers inside the house, or even when he has to ascend the great heights to meet with the Matriarch representing him, who is also the one that gives him funds for his services to the Asari people.
Personality:
Behind his seemingly reckless, stubborn, and child-like demeanor, Draco is a very honest and intelligent man, doing what he can to protect the weak from those who abuse their power, as well as figuring out how to do it on their own terms.
He is usually seen as hyperactive and energetic, jumping into the fray to aid his allies, yet he can also be calm and collected, planning the best possible ways to deal with a particular problem in the fastest and safest way possible, usually using himself as bait.
He has a strict moral code that he is willing to follow to the death, sometimes causing him to get into scrapes that have the possibility of doing just that.
Appearence:
In Armor:
His armor is composed of organic plates fashioned after Prothean technologies discovered by the Asari.
It has shields that are able to regenerate rather quickly, almost as fast as some top-of-the-line armors, its plating is thick enough to protect against most mid to long range fire, and its design utilizes muscle-like tissues to ensure comfortable and precise movement despite its weight.
Being unable to swim, extended periods of time underwater gave him severe bouts of claustrophobia, forcing his armor to be modified to house a special system that filters oxygen out of liquids, the filters themselves being located under plates in the abdominal region, as well as releases a calming agent from the neck into the helmet, yet overexposure to the calming agent may lead to something similar to drug intoxication, which can either help or hinder mission progress depending on the situation.
Outside of Armor:
He stands at 6'6", has dark blue hair, to the point of it appearing black, has a muscular build, and a large scar across his right eye.
Adrenaline:
When his adrenaline level rises to a certain extent, his right eye takes on a golden glow, a side effect from the transfusion his wife gave him.
Ship Specifications:
The
Zwitch Blayd is a fighter class starship that has been modified to increase its speed, power, and maneuverability, which greatly assists the novice pilot, using leaked schematics for Alliance, Council, and ISA frigates, scaled down to fit the smaller vehicle.
It has two hyper-ion engines, each sporting quad thrusters, its own FTL core, a doplet cooling system, an internal kinetic barrier generator, twin mass accelerators, a thin layer of ablative armor, a pair of disruptor torpedo launch bays, and miniature GARDIAN laser.
Bio:
Draconis grew up in a space station in orbit of Jupiter, his parents being retired combat medics who tended to people on stations posted near the outer planets of the Sol System in the Local Cluster.
Despite most people's thoughts on the subject, he was raised to be tolerant of the other races within the galaxy, his parents hoping that he may someday be able to help others be more tolerant of them as well, sparking his curiosity of other races, eventually leading to his studying of other race's culture and biology, which he put to good use later in life.
Draco joined the military in order to be able to more closely study and understand the combat techniques of different races, as well as try to show other humans that they may not be as bad as they think.
Eventually, around the age of 21, he ended up being thrust into a small war, yet being part of Special Operations, he had to do more than his fair share of fighting in order to stay alive.
After the deciding battle was won, there came a time in which Draco was ordered to kill one of their Asari prisoners, yet as he saw the look in her eyes, he knew that he couldn't do it.
Seeing this insubordination, his commanding officer threw a grenade onto the Asari and taunted Draco for not having the guts to do it himself, yet Draco ran over to her and removed the explosive from her body, throwing it mere seconds before it detonated, taking both of his arms, as well as his right eye, with it.
His commanding officer decided to leave him there as proof of what insubordination could cost the rest of his battalion, leaving the Asari alive merely because the look of fear in her eyes amused him.
As they slowly disappeared from sight, Draco's vision began to fade, darkness eventually taking hold of him as the pain became too much to bear.
Draco awoke in an unfamiliar place, a large, white room, surrounded by kinetic barriers, large IVs protruding from his arms, the pouches they were connected to filled with a strange, deep purple liquid.
As he looked around, he saw a familiar face looking back at him, smiling as she hugged him, and thanking him for what he'd done for her, telling him how she'd found a way to return the favor: with her own blood.
She explained to him how he'd been out for nearly three days, and that he'd needed a blood transfusion, yet there were no humans available to get the blood from, so she had the doctors at the facility use her own, as her family line was heavily mixed with Krogan before the complete seperation of the races, so she had faster and more potent regenerative abilities than most Asari in camp, which is what she'd counted on to keep him alive at the least.
As time went on, they began to grow closer, talking, laughing, and spending more and more time together as his health improved.
The Asari, Alana, did what she could to take care of him as the days turned to a weeks, his arms healing at a highly accelerated rate for a human, yet the end of the sixth week woke him with a start as he grabbed his right eye in pain and shook his head to calm himself before realising what he'd just done: he grabbed his eye. With his hand.
Looking over to Alana, the look on her face was that of both shock and joy, revealing to him that even she did not expect what had happened to him.
Not long after, the doctors performed tests on his blood, revealing that, despite the differences between Asari and Human blood, his body had adapted to the transfusion with unexpectedly good results, as Alana's blood was highly regenerative in nature which may have been the cause of his own regeneration, as he now had nearly half the blood in his body being that of the Asari.
After some time, he was finally able to leave the small room, even so far as to be given limited movement throughout the facility, as he had to have Alana at his side at all times for the other races to even allow him to move about the place.
Here, he studied medicine. Not just about how to synthetically make medigel and such, but how to actually treat wounds and perform surgeries with whatever he was given, using VIs and other types of holograms as practice before actually being thrust into a real surgery, which went amazingly well, his patient surviving, and even being able to walk several weeks later.
As the years passed, the other races began to be more and more tolerant of him, finally welcoming him as one of their own, the Asari even more so, as he seemed to stop aging, his hair still growing, yet more noticibly blue, and he himself still growing more intelligent and wise, but his body's natural aging process seemed to be slowed to a crawl, even after 30 years, he looked as if he'd only aged a short few.
One night, he was awakened with a start, his right eye glowing a bright yellow in the darkness due to the surge of adrenaline that was sent throughout his body.
Realizing it was Alana who had awakened him, he smiled as she walked over to him, her face lit up so bright that he couldn't see anything but her.
She told him that she had just become a Matron, and that she wished for him to be her first child's father, to wish he happily accepted.
Seven months later, the facility was attacked by an odd group, as it was composed of Humans, Krogan, Turians, Salarians, and even Rachni, which began destroying the place piece by piece, killing everyone as they went about their rampage.
Draco and Alana escaped the facility, nearly being blown out of the sky by the raiders' ship as they descended to the planet below, hoping they could find refuge there, yet they were sadly mistaken, as the mercs picked up on the ship's distress beacon, which they used to eventually find it and destroy it, trapping the couple on the planet with no means of escape.
As they kept on the run from the mercs, staying at least one step ahead of them, they found that there was a spaceport on the planet, comandeering one of the ships docked there, a fighter, barely big enough for the two of them to fit in its cockpit, escaping the planet with nowhere to go but where the stars led them.
After several days of flight, they came upon the Asari homeworld of Thessia, where they were greeted with guns and biotics as they landed, Alana being welcomed home, yet Draco being knocked out and taken into custody.
After spending three months in the Asari prison, he was finally allowed to leave, Alana waiting outside to greet him, escorted by a small group of warriors and a Matriarch, whom he'd discovered was Alana's mother, Matriarch Lucretsia.
She thanked him for what he'd done to save her daughter, not just once, but twice, and that she was proud that Alana had chosen him as her first mate, yet she said that he would have to leave Thessia, and never return.
He pleaded to remain on the planet to see the birth of his child, to which the Matriarch agreed, allowing him to stay an additional month after her birth to allow the child, Ariana, to be able to see her father before he left.
The Asari Republics conveened on what was to be done about the man, Lucretsia standing up for him, yet stating that he could not be allowed to live on the planet, to which the others agreed, allowing him to be able to visit for extended periods, yet have to return to space once more after a mere two months.
As the years went by, he visited as often as he could, eventually having his time on-world extended to several months at a time, allowing him to be able to see the birth of two more daughters before their oldest hit Maidenhood and was willing to leave home at the age of 20, the younger daughters, Luca and Marina, being 12 and 4 respectively, saw her off with their parents, wishing her a safe journey and hoping for her to return home soon.
It's been three years since then.
Draco has fully upgraded his fighter for stealth purposes, only equipping weapons to be used as a last resort.
All of these years, he has been searching for those who destroyed the facility, training off-world and on, hoping to be able to take revenge for the innocents who lost their lives there.
Despite his age of 74, he still appears as if he were in his late 20s, surprising people with his knowledge and wisdom as he aids others on his quest for justice.
His current mission from the Asari is to view the man known as Shephard to see if he is truly worthy of the rank of Spectre, despite what the Council's operative may say about his performance.
He is currently working as the Normandy's assistant medical officer, learning more about medicine from his superior, yet being sure to treat his mission as his top priority, only giving out details about himself when he absolutely has to, or when he talks with Shephard.
