The young lady jogged down the empty hallway, her torn wet suit dripping the red ooze from the gash in her leg. She cried a disgusting cry as she continued jogging. Escape, that's all that mattered to her. The young lady hadn't seen the sun for three months, and it was all she wanted to see. The only light she'd seen was artificial, blank, and lifeless. Pain. That's all she noticed outside the fear. Pain and escape. The fear overcame here, the thought that she wouldn't see her little brother. She'd never see David graduate, she'd never see him get married.
Suddenly, she heard it, the disgusting noise. It had caught up to her. She fell to her knees as she knew there was no use in running. The escape pods were yards away, and she'd run out of breath before she could make it. It grabbed her. It grabbed her in a way no psychopath, alien, or creature from a Stephen King novel could ever grab her. She cried as it tightened its grip on her. It's hands were damp, dry, and leathery. Resembling the feeling of the skin of a corpse. "Please god no...please..". She cried out to the god who she, after witnessing the events of the last 24 hours, wasn't even sure existed. It sung, it may sound odd or strange, but that's because it is. The music that dripped from its mouth was a mixture of love and hate, peace and war. Every conflicting feeling could be found in the music. It ended it's song before hissing, and sucking her away into the blank and artificial light once again.
The Ocean, how endless, how fearless, how relentless. At the time of you reading this, scientists know more about space then they do of earth's Oceans. In 2020, the U.S. begins missions to explore some of the most uncharted, vacant, and darkest spots in the oceans. Under sea bases and expeditions were made in the deepest parts of the ocean. Bases include the Tonnga Trench, The Philippine Trench, and the Marianas Trench. The Deepest spot in the world. The trench is about 2,550 kilometers (1,580 miles) long but has an average width of only 69 kilometers (43 miles).
At the bottom of the trench the water column above exerts a pressure of 1,086 bars (15,750 psi), over 1000 times the standard atmospheric pressure at sea level. At this pressure the density of water is increased by 4.96%, making 95 liters of water under the pressure of the Challenger Deep contain the same mass as 100 liters. at the surface. The temperature at the bottom is 1 to 4 °C.
The crew sent to the bottom of the Marianas Trench consisted of a group of four scientists. On June 21st, 2024 all contact with the crew was lost. Evidence from the United States Government showed that all four crew members were alive. No breaches in the safety were found. The DSEC (Deep Sea Exploration Center) gathered a team of five to go down to the Marianas Station, and fix communications. The team agreed, unaware of what would follow next.
