Mariana Lockdown: Sector Zero

In front of the man was quite the scene, a girl being dragged to her prison surrounded in water. Honestly, he could not blame her, it took quite a bit of effort to not freak out himself... He was a strong man, and stronger still with the Vigor still pumping in his veins, if he really wanted to he could have killed the guards and tried to escape... Though what would that get him? He could not go on a killing rampage to try and escape, these men were just doing their job, and unlike most here were innocent.

"Stand up! I said stand up!" One of the guards just about had enough of the woman's whining and complaining, he rose his night stick ready to slam it against her skull... In the very least they could drag her without the noise. Before being able to make contact with her head Celio stepped in between them pushing the guard back with surprising force. He wasn't the most bulky of men, but he was still strong. The guard reeled backward nearly losing balance before slamming a foot to the ground to regain it. "She'll move, don't need to hit her." His bronx accent shined through in some words as he spoke. Taken back by the man's speed and strength a guard rushed in and cracked his night stick across Celio's head causing the man to fall to the ground. The other guards then proceeded in ruthlessly beating the prisoner with their sticks before one ultimately called out. "Stop!... He'll get plenty of that in Challenger." Blood spilled from Celio's nose before he was forcefully picked up and shoved forward to get into the elevator. It hurt, but the pain dulled over the time, likely due to the Vigor. Steel blue eyes turned to the side to look towards the girl.

"...Name's Celio, I'll keep ya safe in there alright? So relax a bit will ya." He muttered lowly turning his focus forward once more.

A.I.Killjoy
Killjoy went up the elevator patiently waiting for it to make the way up to the processing center. It wasn't going to take long hopefully, maybe this prisoner would listen and comply like Killjoy always had wanted for them to do. The A.I. held his arms behind his back, in a professional manner as if to say that he was not one of the lazy A.I.. His brothers and sisters were somewhat different in each sector, Zero was where Killjoy was placed in the beginning. His brothers and sisters got better prisoners to handle, while the ones that Killjoy had to deal with always had some deal of insanity. Even more so, these criminals had a hard time doing what they were told. Thankfully, if ever necessary, prisoners could always be thrown into the Sinful Circus.

The elevator dinged on the inside. "Typical elevator cpu" Killjoy stated before the doors opened up. When the doors opened he saw a prisoner that was having "difficulties" with compliance. Killjoy had searched for her file via facial recognition, "Ayanna Dawson, guilty of robbery and murder it seems, but repeats it wasn't her. What a file, huh?" Killjoy noticed that the guard who was watching over Ayanna was just getting up and another prisoner was being forced away from the area, as he had blood on his nose predicting a short incident. "Well, humans have all kinds of fire in their veins, maybe that's why I find them so intriguing. Anyways, stand up Ms Ayanna or I will be forced to use the tranquilizer darts in my handgun. Let me tell you that standing up is a better decision as these darts could do some big time bruising along with vomiting, diarrhea, and not to mention constant turret syndrome in the body for at least a few hours."

Ayanna Dawson
Ayanna was more than grateful for Celio's help, even if it did earn him a beating. "I'll... I'll get up." she stood firm, but kept her gaze aimed to the floor. Still, it wasn't hard to notice that blood had been spilled. She wondered if the guards were surprised by their own cruelty. Taken aback, Ayanna was amazed as to how one man could accept such punishment, and still have the courtesy to introduce himself so politely. She looked into Celio's blue eyes, if only for a second, noticing how it matched the open sea around the prison. "Thank you, so much. My name's Ayanna." her voice was reduced to a mere whimper. She badly wanted to confess her fears to this man she had never met, to simply talk with someone long enough to evade incarceration. Unfortunately, Ayanna was a poor daydreamer. Her expression changed little when Celio was dragged away, and even less when Killjoy had finally reached the processing center

There was an unmistakable parallel between Ayanna and the android whom served as Sector Zero's guardian. The poor girl's heart was on the verge of giving out from anxiety, and before her was this seemingly emotionless caricature, explaining the negative side-effects of a tranquilizer dart. There was no hope of convincing this machine that she was innocent. "Looks like it's my turn." Ayanna murmured as she stepped into the elevator. There was a peculiar slot on the inside, accompanied by a small, numerical keyboard. When her foot make contact with the elevator floor, a pamphlet immediately shot out from the slot in the wall. To be fair, it was more of a booklet. Noticing that her name was on the item, Ayanna grabbed it in Killjoy's presence, assuming that it was meant for her.

"Beat myself? No, love. I usually lose." Irenka winked up at the guard, grinning brightly. "My opponent is devilishly clever, see."

She finished her task and held up her new bishop. "Think that looks right? I mean, I could probably just use little trinkets and memorize what's what, but there's a certain ambience you need, right? I'd like a better board, even. Dunno how I'd make one."

It was true, the importance of a real chess board, it made everything feel more right, more normal. But there was another reason she collected these styrofoam pieces. There was a chemical used in the creation of the material that could be separated - with a great deal of effort and care - to be used in the making of a particularly notorious drug that occasionally made the rounds of the prison. Officially called trexiperinol, it was more often known simply as trick. Irenka was far from the only manufacturer, but she was the best at it. Even then, it took her quite some time to produce a batch, gathering materials and carrying out the processes necessary over weeks or months.

Trick was one of the best demonstrations of corruption within the prison. With so many cameras, it would be easy to crack down on production, but many of the guards used the drug themselves. Some even used trick produced in Challenger Deep to make a profit while on shore leave.

"My little scratched out board will have to do for now." The woman sighed.

A.I.Killjoy
Killjoy waited for the human woman to be able to follow compliance. It didn't take her long, but Ayanna did follow orders that were given by the A.I.. Thankfully the security droid felt somewhat glad, and he never actually felt glad before, as this was new him entirely. His face that he held on his head was a head indeed, but the white mask over the digital face behind it was blocking what held a smile. As Ayanna went into the elevator and took her booklet, Killjoy followed into the elevator, and stood behind her. The elevator closed and it was silent halfway down, though his digital face still held a smile for some reason he could not understand beyond his parameters.

"I do not understand this feeling my circuitry is giving me right now" Killjoy stated blankly, "My face beneath the mask that everyone sees, is smiling, and I do not understand why." Then security bot had suddenly glitched for a short moment, sight, body movement, and even his speech function. A warning symbol had popped across his screen as a sign of danger. he was being remotely hacked, but by who? "Hack--S--sssssoooomeone--is-hackking-mm-mm-my-systems!"

Ayanna Dawson
As if the given scenario simply could not get worse, Ayanna's escort began to experience some kind of technological malfunction. Given all the fancy gear that Challenger Deep had prodding out of every wall, nook, and cranny, the odds of such an event being common were likely rare. "What's wrong? What am I supposed to do?" Ayanna shouted, her voice causing a soft vibration across the metallic floor. For all she knew, there might have been a massive prison escape going on, all the while with her being trapped in an elevator. Even if this android had every intention of locking her away, the last thing Ayanna wanted was for the entire station to be at risk. After all, most of it was underwater.

"Dr.Rose...we've been expecting you all day, I've imagined that you got a little walk around with some of the guards but I'm here to give you the actual tour" A blonde woman a bit taller than her had started with an excited smile across her face. Charlotte had been excited about this moment but dreading it as well, she had heard what happened to the last therapist she was replacing and it hadn't ended as well as she expected. She had been down here with the worst of the worst and was tasked with a pretty difficult job, analyzing each and every one of these individuals. To a regular person that may have sounded like the scariest thing ever, but it was honestly what she lived for.

The blonde woman had been enthusiastically explaining things and showing her around but Charlotte had zoned out not really paying attention to her. Who were the people that she was going to work with? Were they going to be difficult, or was she actually going to be able to make a breakthrough. Sighing to herself softly Charlotte had looked over at the woman who had stopped in front of a office with her name written on a small golden plate, they must've had time to change out the plates before her arrival.

"Now Dr.Rose, this will be your office slash room for therapy sessions...these criminals are dangerous so their will be guards escorting them to and from but if you feel the need to have a one on one then you can tell the guards to wait outside...you will have sessions from 1pm to 2pm and after that you can walk around and wait until we recieve a dead body" Charlotte had nodded her head towards the woman and smiled softly as she handed her a keycard that clearly had her name written on it with a picture and a few numbers written on the bottom. "That'll be your keycard with ultimately gets you into your office and other things that we won't get into now cause I know you've had a long journey...go on, try it out so that I know it works"

Charlotte had followed as the woman said and slid her keycard across a scanner placed beside her door then watched as the small panel lit up a light green and smiled as she heard the office door click open. "You're belongings have already been placed so there's no need to worry about them, and if you have any questions you can ask me, Oh and by the way there's a co-worker roaming around somewhere that you can meet if you would like, he's a physician and his name is Dr.Vogel" Charlotte had looked up at the name and finally opened her mouth to speak, "Sure I have no problem with that...But I'll find him after I'm done scoping the scene...thank you for your help Ms.-" she had come to a stand still since she had yet to learned the blonde woman's name, and even found herself embarrassed that she hadn't asked sooner. "Ms. Rutherford...But please, call me Miriam" Charlotte had nodded her head and waved as the woman had left her office shutting the door behind her completely.

Then she felt herself turn around taking in all of the office, it had beautiful qualities. There were light blue walls with her certificates sprinkled around and she had a nice cream colored floor to contrast the cherrywood desk that had sat in the corner of her office. Then in the middle of the floor were two chairs, one for her to sit in and across from her a patient. She walked deeper into the room and sat down in an office chair that had sat behind her desk and took everything in with one huge sigh. This was her life now, she was deep under water with some pretty serious criminals.

Vogel, MD
"I don't see why you'd think I hate you.." Vogel mused as he began his injections. Paolo winced at the first few but other than that the prisoner seemed to not mind the shots all that much. As he pulled the final syringe from Paolos arm, Vogel quickly capped the needle and placed it back into his kit. Adjusting his glasses, he stood from his kneeling position. "Now that wasn't too bad now was it?" he said as he removed his gloves. Vogel pivoted toward the door and began on his way out. "Oh almost forgot, can't leave these in here with a convicted fellon." Vogel said with a stifled laugh as he turned around to grab his vaccination kit. "He's all yours Gadriel." he said as he finally made his way out of the cell. Walking past the guard he gave her a friendly smile and started back toward the Emergency Ward.

"Don't hesitate to give me a call if you are ever in need of medical assistance Mr. Paolo!" he said with a wave as he disappeared around a corner.

A Short Walk Later
Walking through an umbilical that connected the main cell block to the Emergency Ward, Vogel was always slightly set aback by the view, the umbilical was just over two hundred feet long, the bottom half was made of the same composites and metal as the rest of the prison but the top half was made of what Vogel could only imagine to be at least four inch thick glass, giving a stunning view of the ocean and just how deep they were. In every direction save for directly in front of him Vogel had an unobstructed view of nothing, save for the slight glimmer off the wall of the trench as it reflected the glow from the lights placed periodically around Sector Zero. From the sky there was the constant marine snow; small particles of dead plankton, algae, and other organisms waste; were it not for what it was made of Vogel would have found it quite beautiful as the light glinted off of each small particle falling around the umbilical.

Vogel was now just feet from the pressure door that separated the Emergency Ward from the umbilical when his pager went off.

<02 PRSNRs INBD - ELV 01>

"Really...." Vogel said with a sigh as he started heading back down the umbilical to the cell block to meet his new patients. He began whistling the opening notes to Chopin's Winter Wind as he slowed his pace knowing that only one prisoner rode the elevator at a time, which gave him plenty of time to attempt to whistle one of his favorite pieces. Still, however, he checked his watch just to be sure.

Elaine frowned, looking back towards the elevator and waving offhandedly at Vogel as he left. "What's taking Killjoy so long? He should have come over by now.. Excuse me, Mr. Delucci, I need to check on something." As she rounded the corner to see Killjoy glitching, her frown turned to surprise when she heard him state he was being hacked.[BCOLOR=#000000] "What in the..?"[/BCOLOR] she asked under her breath. She grabbed her phone, hoping that one of the A.I. techies was up and about, sending a message to all of them throughout Sector Zero, waiting not-so-patiently for a reply and keeping a close eye on Killjoy.

Paolo Delucci
A sense of disappointment went through Paolo as Vogel retrieved his vaccination kit, even though the former mob boss discarded his plan of killing the doctor. It would have made excellent repayment for all those wonderful needles jabbed into his arms. "See ya' around, doc." Paolo scoffed as the physician wandered off into the unknown. Once more he was left with an abundance of nothing to do. Perhaps it would have been better if they left a wall clock in his cell, even if Sector Zero was multiple time zones away from home. Paolo figured his good friend Verenzio had taken over the Delucci mob family by now, hopefully not draining its funds from gambling and alcohol. Like in any business, it was better not to overuse what you want to sell, and in that sense, Verenzio was an idiot. Paolo never wanted to give over his legacy to a gambler and a drunkard, but alas, he was in prison.

Additionally, a clock would prove useful in regards to the schedule. The pamphlet offered the times of every inmate's activities, but that would be ultimately useless if no one could tell the time. Being 10,898 meters underwater didn't help much, either. At this point Mr. Delucci presumed that every guard kept the time on their own. He was only mildly surprised when Elaine had left his line of vision, and only his imagination could answer the question, what was that woman up to? Paolo chose to ignore it, and instead return to the topic of the schedule. He was hoping that lunch would come up soon, mostly because he was hungry, and because he wanted to meet the other inmates, face-to-face.

A.I.Killjoy
Killjoy tried to move forward slightly, but it was difficult to. When he tried to he couldn't, and his systems started denied movement. "S--ecuri---tty---cccodd-d-d--eee-A.--I.-----fooouurrr-onnn-n-n-nne--f--ivv-ve-ee--iigghhttt---ttteee---n-n-nn" Killjoy spoke in a glitched manner as his systems were still being hacked. His code was meant to be able to lock up his systems that way he couldn't be hacked anymore. If it worked correctly then Killjoy would automatically shut off and reestart his systems. Then all of a sudden Killjoy stood straight in a direct manner, and then slowly shut down. As he shut down, his body slowly say on it's knees with his arms hanging limp and his head hanging. When this happened, a humming sound happened, lowering slowly until there was no longer a sound. During this time Killjoy would be rebooting his systems, and restarting everything back up.

Charlotte Elizabeth Rose

She had sat in her office a bit longer just taking everything in before she stood up finally taking some initiative. She was going to get out of this office and go to some of her patients and examine them before they really came to her. Sighing softly herself herself her eyes went down to the watch that was wrapped around her wrist then looked back up and grabbed her keycard before she was out the door once again. If she wanted to truly for in she couldn't have stayed cooped up in her office until she was forced to speak to someone, she had to go out and find someone and start a conversation.

The only thing wrong with this plan, she wasn't the best at making friends. It had never been the easiest thing for her. It wasn't that she hadn't wanted friends or she just hated people, it was because she was always considered weird to people and no one wants to hang out with the weird girl.
But you're an adult now! It shouldn't be that way, you should all be adults together...this isn't a highschool soap opera.

Charlotte listened her thoughts as she walked a bit down a long corridor and sighed softly what her thoughts, but she was midway sigh when she had heard it, the soft whistle of a song that was familiar but new that the same time.

Charlotte found herself humming along quietly until the title had clicked in her mind and she turned see a blonde male that may or may not have been taller than her and a pair of glasses sat upon his face. Had he been humming the tune, she stopped her steps and turned to him fully a soft smile on her face. "Chopin....Winter Wind?" There has been a bit of space between them in the long hallway but she still smiled softly as if he could see it. "I guess Classical Music is still cool to some people..." Charlotte heard her soft British accent in her words as her feet stayed planted where she had been.

Celio watched Ayanna vanish behind elevator doors as two guards pinned his back against the wall. The girl was innocent... He did not have to know what she did, of why she was here, when you act with that much emotion in a place like this... There was always truth in it. He was going to keep his promise, in there he'd try to watch over her. As the guards held him up against that wall with arms held outward by hands, Celio did not struggle, there was no point in it. Pulling attention away from the elevator he turned attention to the guard who now blocked his view, the guard he had pushed earlier. "You forget where you are?" The man spoke, tone harsh, angry. "You pull shit like that again boy, you're gonna wind up in the circus. Understand?" He obviously wanted a confirmation from the inmate, and he waited patiently for it.

"Got it." Celio's voice was low, upper lipped stained with crimson from the blow earlier. The prisoner was pulled off the wall and forced into the elevator as it came back up, there he would get his pamphlet detailing how things worked in this fine establishment, schedule, activities and the like. Being escorted by one of the droids tasked to seeing inmates to their cells he arrived to his new home... For the rest of his life. A mechanical hand gently pushed Celio inside of his cell before stepping back out. "Dr. Vogel will be with you momentarily." It's mechanical tone holding little humanity in it. Within a few moments the gang member was left alone with nothing but his thoughts. Standing in the middle of his cell steel blue hues looked over to the hard bed in the corner before turning to look towards the one toilet he was permitted to use... At least they did not force him to go in a corner like some kind of animal. With little to do until the doctor arrived, the man moved over to the bed and sat down. He noted it's unusual firmness as his rump made contact with the mattress... Quiet settled in, and all he could think about was how he got there... His father's loving support naturally.

Ayanna Dawson
Ayanna was on the verge of hyperventilating as Killjoy underwent some kind of reboot. It was terrifying enough to descend to such a depth that not even sunlight could penetrate downward, worsened through being trapped in a cramped elevator. With an armed robot, no less. She lived a somewhat comforted life before all of this. The atmosphere of dysfunction and barbarism drew the young girl closer to a mental breakdown. When the elevator connected with the magnetized lock gears beneath the floor, and the doors slid open with an inhuman screech, Ayanna stepped out and ran over to the nearest waste bin in view. Homesickness, physical trauma, and the uncomfortable sensation brought on by the air pressure overwhelmed her with nausea. If any of the guards had bothered, not a single one could pry her off from that bin. They sneered. Janitors only showed up during the night hours, and it was usually only to clean blood off the floor.

Cassandra Flint

Cassandra Flint was new to the prison, having been found guilty on all charges that were presented against her in court. She knew she was guilty but tried to plea out that it was all a mistake, that she didn't mean to kill her ex-boyfriend. She had claimed that she had black out after find out that he was cheating on her and that when she came too, he was dead at her feet but the judge didn't believe her and sentenced her to this hell hole until she died. Stupid old bat didn't even know that she was allowed one last call and she had ordered one of her broken victims to go and kill the judge and then killed themselves, covering it up with a code that made it seem like she was talking to her father. Her father... he was always so kind to her, never asking her for much other than to be a good student and succeed in school. He had no idea that the woman he once called his wife was right and that Cass was broken beyond repair. What was broken about her? Well... she cannot feel feelings. For most of her life, she has not been able to feel any such feeling and had to pretend that she could just so that people wouldn't suspect her when she started picking up... extra curricular activities. It just started out as simple curiosity then turned into a hobby, as she felt feelings that she had no experience with and wanted to feel more of it, almost like an addicting drug. Her first victim was someone whom had bullied her, the girl was her first test subject. It took her a full two months to break her former tormentors brain but when it was done, Cass had her own personal slave to do her deeds for her. That was, until the brainless idiot walked out into oncoming traffic and became a hood ornament on a school bus. Cassandra had acted like they had settled their differences and that her former bully was trying to help her get back her necklace her father had gotten for her that had fallen into the street. The cops believed it and stated that it was all an accident and didn't charge Cass for anything. After all, who could charge a ten year old girl for man slaughter? Cassandra smiled at the memories of her past deeds came to the forefront of her mind as she looked over the pamphlet they had given her that told her where her room was, the schedule and other little doo-dads that she had no interest in. She would continue to act the scared little girl that seemed to have been put in a "very scary place" and try to make new toys to do her bidding.

A.I. Killjoy
It took several minutes for Killjoy to be able to reboot back up, but when he did there were several muffled noises coming from his inner systems. His head suddenly jerked up, speaking in binary for a short moment in time. Then after the binary language was spoken he began to look around, "Where am I currently?" Since he was hacked he had to reset his logs from then so that way he could get rid of them from the hacker. It also had gotten rid of his last known location as well and who he was dealing with. The reset not only did all of that, but before the hack he had begun to feel a sense of happiness, which was unusual as he had not downloaded any programs to be able to feel any amount of happiness. This was indeed a part of a hack.

"I guess Classical Music is still cool to some people..." the woman said to Vogel. Vogel a bit surprised stopped and took a quick look at her. 'A prisoner...? No way she could have gotten out of her cell...' he quickly noted her stance even from a far and came to figure she must be new around here. "No need to be so tense Miss, I promise I'm not an escaped crazy." he said with a smile as he lifted his badge up in view.

The woman was.... Interesting to Vogel. Her milky skin contrasted sharply by her blue eyes, a hue he had never seen in the iris before. Her white hair tied up as to fall upon her shoulders. Vogel made a quick mental note of her unusual eye and hair colors to ask at a later time if the chance ever presented itself. Her figure was... 'Coworker.' his ind growled angrily at him. '...But she's an attractive coworker...' he told himself, 'The first one in months, literally months!' his mind rejoiced at the thought.

"So I've been told." Vogel said offering a laugh as he walked toward the woman. He switched his vaccination kit from his right hand to his left and offered a handshake. "The name's Vogel, Nicholas. I'm one of three Emergency Physicians here in the 'Kraken'..." Vogel said with air quotes from his open hand, "It's a pleasure to meet you... Miss...?" he said as he outstretched his arm for a hand shake. Straining to keep from admiring her.

'Very professional, what are you twelve?!' he thought slightly embarrassed, 'No way she can tell though...' he reassured himself.

Charlotte Elizabeth Rose

She had listened to his words and instantly because conscious about her posture. She had been a little tense and she hadn't even not used it until he pointed it out, in fact she hadn't even known that she was this nervous to be tense. Maybe be was because she was actually approaching a human being and not a dead body, but she chuckled softly at his words the instantly felt herself tense back up as he offered his hand to her. "Ah...so you're the Dr. Vogel I was supposed to meet, well I'm Dr.Rose...but please call me Charlotte, I know I'm supposed to feel proud about all the years I've sacrificed of my life to get my title...but I've never been a fan of formalities."

She grasped his hand firmly in hers and shook it remembering the lesson her mother always taught her. A person judges your whole life with just the shake of a hand. Rose gave him a soft smile before she pulled her hand away and took a look at the vaccine case he had moved to his left hand, then she instantly filled with regret as she took her hand away from his. "You weren't busy were you? I would hate to know that I interrupted you from doing something, I was just looking for someone to show me where the prisoners were since that wasn't on my tour list apparently, I wanted to meet my patients before I tried to analyze them"

Everyone she went to school with disapproved with her methods. They always told her that being kind to a criminal patient was going to get you no where, but of course, with her being the hard head that she was, she always ignored them and hadn't cared for their comments. "Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I'm the new therapist and medical examiner " she added in quickly pushing a strand of white hair behind her ear.

Paolo Delucci

Had it not been for the beating of his own heart, Paolo would've likely dozed off in his cozy little detainment cell. He wanted to keep track of each breath as every sound bounced off the walls. It was comparable to being trapped in a broom closet, to a degree. The main difference was spacing. Still, Paolo was caught off guard, no pun intended, as a deafening siren coursed throughout the sector. "Attention, inmates and staff, it is now 6:00 PM. Please remain in an orderly fashion when being escorted to the Sector Zero Cafeteria." vocalized what was obviously a prerecording. Finally, Paolo thought to himself, we get to do something. Surely enough, the glass door facing the Italian convict slid begrudgingly, almost as if it felt sorry for not remaining shut for an eternity. This would be the perfect opportunity to learn about the new neighbors.

Cassandra Flint

Cass was roughly lead to the cafeteria by her guards and she looked to see others being lead to the meal hall of the prison. Everything was so orderly and plain that she felt that this place would be a complete waste and she would probably end up dying from sheer boredom. During her musings, one of the guards that were escorting her pushed her and she stumbled a bit. "Quite dawdling, Flint! We don't need to spend forever on you!" He said in a gruff voice that was caused by lack of sleep and annoyance. Time to bring on her mask. Looking at the guards, Cass had forced tears to come to her eyes and and she had a scared look to her face. "P....please.... I don't.... I don't belong here." SHe pleaded, voice laced with sorrow and fear. This was one of her more perfected masks. SHe knew that they may not fall for the ploy but it was worth a shot. They didn't say anything to her and just continue to force her to the cafeteria.
