What makes a great map? I'd like to hear about your personal responses.

What kinds of icons and features should the map have displayed?

Detail and readability makes for a great map, as well as simple icons for different things (such as cities and towns) that are easy to remember. I enjoy knowing where important locations are, as well as any significant landscapes- such as mountains, hills, or waterfalls that are well-known.
