WORLD INFORMATION
Magitech.jpg

Zolath is the name of both the world and the pangeaic continent that exists on it. Broken into four nations of humanity, it exists alongside a second dimension known as Quiren - where the Technomatics live, and the theorized birthplace of sparks. The majority of humanity lives in large, walled metropolises due to the millennium war - though in the century since, humans have once more began to expand out. Despite having been victorious in the war, Technomatics still roam the land and find their way through portals - and hunters cannot be everywhere at once.
---------------------

North: Hathlen - Tundra in the west, and gradually becoming plains the further one goes east, Hathlen is a land that is inlaid with plenty of farmland, with different foods grown in the fertile land and various temperatures. Hathlen is ruled by a royal family, currently headed by King and Queen Zeralt.

South: Volutri - Mostly savannah, many strange mammalian creatures exist in Volutri.Herbs and spices grow in abundance here, and are their main export. The first major technomatic offensive began here, and the wartime mentality has never quite worn off. They are ruled by a semi-oligarchy of clans and other prestigious military families.

East: Arthentum - - A heavily forested and humid land, there is a large variety of flora and fauna that exists in this nation. Both benign and malign, these beings are among the number that exist in this world, many of which are hostile though not as threatening as Technomatics. The Arthentumites are led by a single person, who is overseen by leaders of social regions - all elected by the people.

West: Stellhardt - The largest nation by border size, the actual amount of truly habitable land lies to the eastern side. The majority of the west is a large mountain range, including the Throat of the World. Within these mountains lies a large amount of metals and gems, which is thus Stellhardt’s main export. They are ruled by themselves - the nation is split into counties, and each county picks a representative to bring their concerns to the council. The council then meets, and makes any needed changes to national laws before disbanding until the next cycle.

Central: The Magitetech Academy - With the majority of the land in these borders being mountains, the academy itself is located in a large valley of the central area. Considered a neutral ground and sometimes called in as arbitrators, the Academy is a place where your country of origin doesn’t matter. When you are enrolled in the Academy, that is where your loyalty is to lie. From your time as a student to your career as a hunter, you are to fight the technomatics that stalk the land, even since the war ended. The Academy itself is led by the headmaster and a council of elder hunters.

Sparks are a strange energy source of unknown origin to Zolath. It is never found in its natural form outside of the Technomatic world of Quiren. On Quiren, Sparks are ‘born’ out of energy, and many are devoured by Technomatics as each new Spark devoured adds to their own, making them stronger. Technomatic culture is a warlike one, with every individual seeking out more sparks so as to become stronger, and not become prey to those who wish to destroy them and devour their Spark. New technomatics are created when a spark suffuses the silicon-based mass of their world, imbuing it with consciousness and power. The millennium war came around when a particularly powerful technomatic found a way to open rifts into Zolath, a concurrent dimension, and found that some humans are born with a spark inside them.

Before humans found their way to utilize their sparks, they were easy prey for Technomatcs who hunted sparked humans, and slaughtered them to devour their sparks. And once that was done, they slaughtered those fighting with conventional weaponry - which was nigh useless - and then civilians. Just for the fun of it. It wasn’t until the first grandmaster hunter - named Zolam - took down a Technomatic that humans began to learn of the power of sparks. Zolam found others with Sparks, and together they learned about the different ways spark could manifest in humans and how to control them. This, however, was not the turning point of the war. This was what brought about the intensification of it, as the more spark was used, the more power it gained. A war academy and force known as hunters was founded, and was the main force to battle against the technomatics. During this time, conventional weaponry began to evolve into a form that would be able to harm technomatics, but it never seemed to become as effective as a single hunter and their powers.

As time went on, humans began to learn more and more about sparks. They found that there were four general types, and that there was no true relation between sparks and blood/genetics. Though it is more likely for a spark to appear in one who has at least one bearer parent, a bearer can appear from anywhere. Despite this, bloodlines that continuously give bearers are known as clans, and are sources of prestige and wealth. Clans are often powerful and hold much political and social clout.

---------------------------

Mechromancy - Mechromancy is a Spark that actually manifests outside of the bearer. A small mote of light appears near the bearer when the spark awakens, something that is easily missed by viewers on the outside. This mote is called a ‘guardian spirit’, and its final form is a good reason for that. A mechromancer is able to infuse their spirit into any cohesive object in a pinch, but they are more often placed into specially and personally built bodies known as golems or mechs. As a hunter grows in power, they generally make more than one golem or modify their golem modularly so as to allow the spirit to fight anything they need. The spirits will fight for and follow their bearer against any odds, and will sacrifice their bodies to make sure their bearer survives. They are not known to stand back and let their golem do all the work, often creating small devices and tools to assist in battle.

Weaponsmithing - Weaponsmiths’ sparks come in the form of a kind of internal energy, called ‘ki’. This energy, while able to be released in powerful unarmed blows, is usually given a different purpose. This energy also gives weaponsmiths a certain insight into mechanical engineering, and this is used to create special weapons. These weapons often come with both capabilities as a firearm, and often the ability to mechanically transform into a melee weapon. Both forms utilize ki, both as projectiles and an empowering force. These weapons are constantly tweaked and modified during a hunter’s training, and even past. A weaponsmith nearly never stops improving their design.

Elemancy - Elemancy is the art of Spark bearers who are able to both conjure and manipulate alchemical elemental energies. Most are born with the ability to use one or two elements, such as earth, air, water, plants, and lightning. While creating some elements is more taxing than others, these bearers are often masters of tactics, using their abilities to cover their weaknesses, and that of their team, to take down their foe.

Arcanism - Arcanists utilize a force that is not very well understood: Arcana. When visible, it looks like liquid chrome. There are a few different schools of arcanism that appear in bearers. Among these are projectiles, shields/barriers, and weapons. Even among these there appears to be specialization, with arcanists often finding a school of thought that words for them, and fitting their style around it.

Name: Bathum Versoth Underi
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Spark: Weapon Arcanism
Appearance
Personality: Kind, gentle, a creature of habit. While not strict in following the same set of motions every day, he doesn’t find change easy and it can quickly stress him out. While he does his best to be a good person, when something bothers him and he is unable to cope, he can lash out which makes him feel worse by the end of it

History: Bathum was born and raised in Stellheardt, first child of his parents. Growing up, he would gain two siblings, and live as a rather average student. He never excelled in anything except art, where he would draw different designs of archaic weapon types. When he graduated high school and completed the Spark test, it was found that he was a bearer for Arcanism. In his own testing, he found he was skilled at making swords, bows, spears, and other designs from his art. Conventionally these weapons would be useless, but when made of Arcana they could slice through Technomatics. Thus, Barthum entered the train from his home Metropolis to the academy...

Eyyo what up, holding this space for my cs.

Name: Solara Zuval

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Spark: Elemancy | Fire and Air

Appearance:

Anime girl red edit.jpg

Personality:

A kind, sweet, and bold girl who usually says what is on her mind. She does her best to help when she is 100% needed and is always happy to teach another person the best ways to fight and train for combat, but only if they pay her in food. Solara has a rather low work ethic and tends to slack off constantly. However, when her actions bear consequences on other people, that's when she really picks up the slack and sees her tasks through to the very end. Solara, despite appearances, hates bringing other people down or risking other people's lives because of her carelessness.

Solara tends to be a bit of a fashionista. She likes to mix and match clothing with different accessories to see what looks good. She also specializes in the art of "perfectly heated microwave meals." While she can cook actual meals, she tends not to because it's effort.

She can usually be found sleeping in the strangest places (this includes in the bathroom stall, cardboard boxes outside, under desks, etc), playing video games on her handheld console, or sitting down watching the clouds roll by.

History:

Born and raised in the Zuval household, a prestigious military family, on the outskirts of Volutri, Solara lived a fairly strict upbringing. Solara was the youngest child, having an elder brother named Roan and an older sister named Soleil. She, as well as her siblings, underwent strict household rules and discipline in an attempt to raise hardworking adults. They were taught combat and strategy at a very young age, which Solara actually found enough interest in to participate. Somewhere along the way, Solara developed lazy habits much to her parents' displeasure. To this day, they still don't know where they went wrong with her.

During her high school graduation, Solara had been ready to begin her career as a normal everyday citizen, however, it was discovered that she held a Spark for Elemancy. She was able to conjure and manipulate both fire and wind, even using both to create infernos hot enough to melt through Technomatics.

With either this or military training in her future, Solara tossed herself into the train to head to the academy.

Name: Andal Tavorsk

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Spark: Weaponsmithing, long-range specialist

Appearance

Personality: Andal is meticulous, calculating, and cynical. He plans ahead, never speaks more than he has to, and appears to be somewhat of a cold, distant dick, but if someone were to manage to make friends with him - well, he wouldn't change much, but he'll definitely start to warm up.

That being said, Andal isn't a malicious person. He maintains a professional and polite attitude at all times, and he does enjoy helping others, he just rarely shows it. He also enjoys research in his spare time, looking up various weapons and models to base his own constructs off of.

History: Andal was born to a family of noble bloodline in Hathlen. He was exposed to politics at a young age; however, the only skills he picked up was to "think more, talk less". He eventually developed an interest in weapons and the military, and his parents often brought him (or hired a nanny to bring him) to military parades and museums. As he grew up, his affinity for weapons of all kinds only grew, so much so that he had decided to sign up for a firearms course.

After graduating high school (and learning to be a crack shot), he was tested for a Spark and it was discovered that he did, indeed, have one - for Weaponsmithing. It was like a dream come true for him. Without hesitation, Andal boarded the train headed for the Academy.

@Agent_Puncake

Technically I asked for characters to be submitted in PM before they were posted, but at the same time I'm pretty sure I forgot to say that and edited it in later.

But in any case, I don't see any problems! Welcome aboard!

Name: Alistar Moroby

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Spark: mechromancy, Clockwork soldier

Appearance:

fdfc019b13ec42c2686637b4b761192a.jpg

Personality: A bombastic and forthcoming gent with a heart of gold that roars like a lion, prideful, but to have pride is no sin, for to hold one's head up like he is a virtue when faced with odds like the steel menace he wishes to face. He knows no modesty, letting word and deed speak for him, for this is the way of he who shall hold nothing barred.

He shall not lie, cheat nor slander, even the most unworthy have good within, he proposes growth and strength even when the odds stand against you. However, do not let him near the kitchen if you prefer an unburnt tongue, for nothing in this world could be spicy enough for the man, hell he seems to have a stomache of iron when it comes to food.

Put simply, a good fellah who is abit obnoxiously prideful but a general pillar of strength.

History:
Born to a clan this young man holds great pride in his pedigree and birthright, seeing as the job as a hunter is his to inherit he took to training his skills with great pride and... relative success. In truth it was very difficult for him to get the requirements met for his acceptance, it took a great deal of effort, work, stress, tears, more tears, alot more tears to reach his goal, of joining the academy!!! Well, hopefully!! He was working his ass off with the possibility of his hopes and dreams being dashed at highschool graduation.

Given he is here, you can imagine it was a success!!!

But he was just not good for book learning, in fact he can't sit down and read for more than twenty minutes before he starts to go batty. The long list of things hes tried to get himself to digest the books is ludicrous. From having it read to him by a maid and doing physical exercise while reading, to both at the same time. His struggles are very real, and something he admits to being a real weakness, but his sheer bullheaddedness pushed him through regardless!

The lion doesn't give up once faced with adversity! It conqures all that comes it's way! Even if he had to ask many a nerd for aid.

May come off obnoxious but well meaning.

Name: Di Corbeau
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Spark: Armor Arcanism
Appearance:
hot-anime-girl-with-black-hair-pretty-y-anime-girl-with-pale-skin-long-snow-white-hair-with-of-hot-anime-girl-with-black-hair.jpg

Personality:
Di is best described as a steadfast, bright and outgoing woman. She is quick to get fired up but is unlikely to get into a fight. She is passionate about her beliefs and holds friendship and loyalty above even family. People grow on her slowly as her upbringing in a monastery led to her having very few interactions with new faces. Despite this she remains a pleasant individual to be around, able to lend her education to others.
History:

Di is no one, she has no known family and was raised her entire life within a monastery in the Tundra of Hathlen. Despite having no ties to any group, person or family she had been taken in at birth and raised within the walls and Tundra of the north. She is rugged, rough and yet still retains a aura of finesse and beauty about her. She is a flower in the deathly cold and her tactfulness, tenacity, faith and memory have given her a name among those she calls family. She is Di Corbeau, the Divine Raven.

Her time spent training had been almost her entire life, yet she did not train with a weapon, her training was with the pen being her sword and her heart being her shield. She is elegant and zealous in the belief of her deity, yet she was still taught the depths of engineering, science and physics. Taught that knowledge holds a higher place among life than any power of the body.

Alrighty all! I've closed signups for now as I feel that with who we have and two other possible characters from @Quiet One and @Boo Girlie BoomBoom we have a big enough group.

Name: Cole Gelid
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Spark: Ice/Water Elemancy
Appearance:
1568381388043.png

Personality: Relaxed, unfazed - "chill" is the right word. He's fairly laid back most of the time in a way that can come off as arrogant or uncaring. But Cole's far from cold-hearted. He can be a calm, soothing presence for his friends. But for his enemies, he becomes truly cold and ruthless. It's jarring to all around him when he finally stops smirking and laying back lazily and starts leaning in to strikes.
History:
Born on the northern-most island of West Stellhardt - Hastell - Cole grew up accustomed to harsh winters, frigid swimming water, and tough food. These things didn't bother him. In fact, he welcomed these difficulties as a touch of home. That he should gain ice and water elemancy from his surroundings was hardly surprising, and being surrounded by water and snow almost constantly meant that he discovered his gift in his sophomore year, rather than it being a surprise upon taking the test.

He didn't spend those years mastering his abilities. He could do some light water manipulation, and freeze almost any liquid with minimal effort, but the advanced powers of Ice Elemancers had no interest to him. His interest instead was in Anna, the ever-peppy redhead he'd developed a romance with. She was the only one who knew about his Spark, and after some talking, she agreed to keep it a secret. He wanted a normal life - with her - and the academy would take that away from him.

Cole didn't like the academy. You were allowed to reject the offer to become a hunter, but doing so came at a heavy social cost. He blamed the academy for the stigma surrounding those who didn't feel they had the guts to be a hero, or who thought looking out for their local community was more important. It may not have been the academy's fault, but he blamed them. He blamed them for perpetuating a war mentality when the fight was long-since won.

So Cole used his talents in secret with his girlfriend, freezing the water so they could skate, making simple ice sculptures for her, and keeping their drinks cold. And for him, that was enough. Then came graduation, and the test that would send his world crashing down. He tried to hide his spark, repressing it from his thoughts and his body, but the test couldn't be fooled. As much as he hated the thought, he had to choose now between being a pariah in his own hometown, thus ruining things for himself and Anna's future there, or join the academy and see if their relationship could survive long distances. Begrudgingly, he chose the academy.

Hope everyone is doing good! I'm excited for this RP~
